I wrote a JS web page for our church that uses speech recognition to transcribe the pastor's speech and display it as closed captions on a monitor. The accuracy is around 90%. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions to improve it or if using an API like Google Translate would help.
you can try it here. https://bryandellinger.github.io/voicetotext/
here it is in github
warning this version has a large list of profanities in it

I am using ReactJS and I am creating a button "remove" in a method called showData() and appending it to a row in a table of people.
I am setting its attribute onclick to my method removePerson() implemented in the same class of the method showData().
This is all good until I click on the button "remove" - then an error shows:
ReferenceError: removePerson() is not defined at HTMLButtonElement.onclick
This is my code:
showData() {
let localStoragePersons = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem("personsForms"));
persons = localStoragePersons !== null ? localStoragePersons : [];
let table = document.getElementById('editableTable');
let x = table.rows.length;
while (--x) {
table.deleteRow(x);
}
let i = 0;
for (i = 0; i < persons.length; i++) {
let row = table.insertRow();
let firstNameCell = row.insertCell(0);
let lastNameCell = row.insertCell(1);
let birthdayCell = row.insertCell(2);
let salaryCell = row.insertCell(3);
let choclatesCell = row.insertCell(4);
let genderCell = row.insertCell(5);
let workTypeCell = row.insertCell(6);
let hobbiesCell = row.insertCell(7);
let descriptionCell = row.insertCell(8);
let colorCell = row.insertCell(9);
firstNameCell.innerHTML = persons[i].firstName;
lastNameCell.innerHTML = persons[i].lastName;
birthdayCell.innerHTML = persons[i].birthday;
salaryCell.innerHTML = persons[i].salary;
choclatesCell.innerHTML = persons[i].Choclates;
genderCell.innerHTML = persons[i].Gender;
workTypeCell.innerHTML = persons[i].workType;
hobbiesCell.innerHTML = persons[i].Hobbies;
descriptionCell.innerHTML = persons[i].Description;
colorCell.innerHTML = persons[i].favoriteColor;
colorCell.style.backgroundColor = persons[i].favoriteColor;
let h = persons[i].ID;
let removeButton = document.createElement('button');
removeButton.setAttribute('onclick', 'removePerson(' + h + ')')
removeButton.innerHTML = 'Remove';
row.appendChild(removeButton);
}
}
I tried to change the code
removeButton.setAttribute('onclick', 'removePerson(' + h + ')');
to
removeButton.onclick = this.removePerson(h);
but everyTime the "showData()" method runs this method "removePerson()" run also and i don't want this to happen.
removePerson(ID) {
alert(ID);
let table = document.getElementById('editableTable');
if (persons.length === 1) {
table.deleteRow(1);
persons.pop();
localStorage.setItem("personsForms", JSON.stringify(persons));
}
let target;
let i;
for (i = 0; i < persons.length; i++) {
if (persons[i].ID === ID) {
target = persons[i].firstName;
persons.splice(i, 1); break;
}
}
for (i = 1; i < table.rows.length; ++i) {
let x = table.rows[i];
if (x.cells[0].innerHTML === target) {
table.deleteRow(i); break;
}
}
let temp = [];
let j = 0;
for (i = 0; i < persons.length; ++i) {
if (persons[i] !== null) {
temp[j++] = persons[i];
}
}
persons = temp;
localStorage.clear();
localStorage.setItem("personsForms", JSON.stringify(persons));
this.showData();
}
When you set a variable to some value, the value is computed first.
Hence, when you write removeButton.onclick = this.removePerson(h); the right side of the equation is evaluated first.
You can wrap it with a fat-arrow function, so that the function that will be called upon user click would be the function that calls this.removePerson(h). This way its value is a lambda function, and not the actual value of this.removePerson(h):
removeButton.onclick = () => this.removePerson(h);
I have a situation here. My company has a webpage which we use for ticket creation. The user gets the email and he has to create a ticket based on the info in the email. I tried to automate this process however got stuck at uploading the attachment.
When the user click on the attach button, a new pop up opens and my macro looses the control over the pop up.
So currently what am doing is,
Save the email - which needs to be attached.
Copy the path to clip board using a function
run a vb script to paste and enter using send keys with 5 seconds delay
click on the attach button.
So before the macro clicks the attach button, a VBS runs behind to paste and hit enter. So by the time the pop up opens VBS starts and closes the pop up.
I was checking to run the attach function within VB script so that I dont have to click on attach button. But I am not able to reach anywhere. anyone help?
The below are the functions available in the webpage. I dont know which one to run and how.

This is what happens when I click on the attach button in the HTML. attachFile is the ID which I am using in my code to run.
<tr class="attachmentRow">
<td id="attachFileCell" colspan="3">
<input name="attachFile" title="" id="attachFile" onchange="checkAndSetAttachButton(); setDeleteButton(this.value); $('attachButton').click();" type="file" size="41" multiple="true" data-original-title="Attach">
<a class="attachfile-delete" style="display: none; cursor: default;" onclick="clearAttachmentField($(this).up().up()); setDeleteButton(this.value);" href="#">
<img src="images/icons/kb_no_disabled.gif">
</a>
<input disabled="" class="attachfile-attach button" id="attachButton" style="display: none;" type="submit" value="Attach">
</td>
</tr>
This is my VBA Code which I used.
Set IE = New SHDocVw.InternetExplorer
IE.Visible = True
IE.Navigate "https://sorry cant share the link as per the company policy"
Do While IE.Busy = True Or IE.READYSTATE <> 4: DoEvents: Loop
Set HTMLDoc = IE.Document
'***************** Save Email
eachitem.SaveAs StrFile, 3
'***************** file link to clipboard
CopyText StrFile
'***************** Attach Email
HTMLDoc.getElementById("header_add_attachment").Click
Application.Wait (Now() + TimeValue("00:00:02"))
'***************** Call external VBS file to handle the pop up then attach
Shell "Explorer.exe " & StrFolderPath & "SNOW.vbs", vbNormalFocus
HTMLDoc.getElementById("attachFile").Click
SendKeys "{Enter}", True
I tried the below method to call the function, but reaching nowhere! Any assistance would be appreciated. I really dont know which function attaches the file to the website and how.
Set HTMLDoc1 = IE.Document.parentWindow
HTMLDoc1.execScript code:="isJEXLExpression(" & StrFile & ")"
HTMLDoc1.execScript code:="checkAndSetAttachButton()"
HTMLDoc1.execScript code:="setDeleteButton(this.value)"
HTMLDoc1.execScript code:="$('attachButton').click()"
HTMLDoc1.execScript code:="clearAttachmentField($(this).up().up()); setDeleteButton(this.value);"
I'm building a custom layout for a SharePoint list via JS Link...
At the moment I'm rendering all by myself, but for some more complex items (Taxonomy, URLs, etc.) it would be great to be able to trigger the custom rendering of SharePoint.
Is this possible somehow for single field types?
var csListView = csListView || {};
csListView.ListBody = '<div class="datagrid"><table><thead>{LIST_HEADER}</thead>{LIST_BODY}<tfoot><tr><td colspan="{FIELD_COUNT}"><div class="paging">{PAGINATION}</div></td></tr></tfoot></table></div>';
csListView.HeaderRow = '<tr>{HEADER_ITEMS}</tr>';
csListView.HeaderItem = '<th>{HEADER_ITEM}</th>';
csListView.BodyRow = '<tr class="{ALT_CLASS}">{LIST_ITEMS}</tr>';
csListView.BodyItem = '<td>{LIST_ITEM}</td>';
csListView.CustomizeFieldRendering = function ()
{
var fieldJsLinkOverride = {};
fieldJsLinkOverride.Templates = {};
fieldJsLinkOverride.Templates.Body = csListView.RenderBody;
SPClientTemplates.TemplateManager.RegisterTemplateOverrides(fieldJsLinkOverride);
};
csListView.RenderBody = function (ctx) {
var colspan = ctx.ListSchema.Field.length;
var html = '';
var itemHtml = '';
var itemsHtml = '';
var rowHtml = '';
var bodyHtml = '';
var paginationHtml = '';
var headerItemsHtml = '';
var headerHtml = '';
//Render Header fields
for (var i = 0; i < ctx.ListSchema.Field.length; i++) {
var sortUrl = location.search + '?SortField=' + ctx.ListSchema.Field[i].RealFieldName + '&SortDir=Desc';//ctx.HttpRoot + ctx.listUrlDir + '/&' + ctx.ListSchema.FieldSortParam
var item = '' + ctx.ListSchema.Field[i].DisplayName + '';
headerItemsHtml += csListView.HeaderItem.replace('{HEADER_ITEM}', ctx.ListSchema.Field[i].DisplayName);
}
headerHtml = csListView.HeaderRow.replace('{HEADER_ITEMS}', headerItemsHtml);
//Go through all rows
for (var i = 0; i < ctx.ListData.Row.length; i++) {
var cssClass = (i % 2 == 0) ? 'alt' : '';
//Go through all fields
itemsHtml = '';
for (var j = 0; j < ctx.ListSchema.Field.length; j++) {
var item = csListView.renderField(ctx, ctx.ListSchema.Field[j], ctx.ListData.Row[i]);
itemHtml = csListView.BodyItem.replace('{LIST_ITEM}',item);
itemsHtml += itemHtml;
}
rowHtml = csListView.BodyRow.replace('{LIST_ITEMS}',itemsHtml);
rowHtml = rowHtml.replace('{ALT_CLASS}', cssClass);
bodyHtml += rowHtml;
}
html = csListView.ListBody.replace('{LIST_BODY}', bodyHtml);
html = html.replace('{PAGINATION}', renderPaging(ctx));
html = html.replace('{FIELD_COUNT}', colspan);
html = html.replace('{LIST_HEADER}', headerHtml);
return html;
};
csListView.renderField = function (ctx, fieldData, rowData) {
return rowData[fieldData.RealFieldName];
}
To change a the view of a field you could use this
var ctx = {};
ctx.Templates = {};
ctx.Templates.Fields = {'ColumnName': { 'View' : '<b><#=ctx.CurrentItem.ColumnName#></b>' }};
SPClientTemplates.TemplateManager.RegisterTemplateOverrides(ctx);
Does that answer your question?
