I have a modal for signup and signin. In signup modal when I click to signin button then signup modal will hide and signin modal will appear.
From same procedure happen to signin modal.
But here these signin or signup button inside the modal didn't work.
I didn't find out the script problem since I am not good in JS.
Here is the modal
<form class="form-horizontal" id="signin_form">
<input type="hidden" name="_token" id="csrf-token" value="{{ Session::token() }}" />
<fieldset>
<!-- Sign In Form -->
<!-- Email input-->
<div class="control-group">
<div class="controls">
<input required="" id="signin_email" name="email" class="col-ld-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12" type="email" placeholder="Email" class="input-medium">
</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group">
<div class="controls">
<input required="" id="signin_password" name="password" class="col-ld-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12" type="password" placeholder="Password" class="input-medium">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Button -->
<div class="control-group">
<div class="controls modal_submit_button">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-success" id="signin_form_submit_button">Sign In</button>
</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group">
<div class="controls modal_submit_button">
Don't have an account ! Click here to
Sign Up
</div>
</div>
</fieldset>
</form>
script
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.signup_from_signin_modal').on("click", function() {
$('#signin_Modal').modal('hide');
$('#myModal').modal('show');
});
$('.signin_from_signup_modal').on("click", function() {
$('#myModal').modal('hide');
$('#signin_Modal').modal('show');
});
});
Further more no error is shown into console.
Anybody help please? Thanks in advance
First of all in the handler function of the click you should prevent the default action of the <a> tag. Like so:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.signup_from_signin_modal').on("click", function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$('#signin_Modal').modal('hide');
$('#myModal').modal('show');
});
Please let me know if this helps and apply this principle to other HTML tags that already have a default event associated. Like forms with button of type submit for instance. Don't forget to prevent this default event so that you can use your specified event. Hope this helps.
There are missing places in the code. That's why I didn't understand the problem.
Can you try that?
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.signup_from_signin_modal').click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault()
$('#signin_Modal').hide();
$('#myModal').show()
})
});
Where is #myModal?

I'm new to modals, i want to submit a form and then show success popup if user form is validated else want to show error popup. Also my it should execute php file for sending the email to user in background.
So, far i'm successful in executing the php file in background and show the model when user clicks on submit button.
But i want the popup to show when the form is validated. Also i want to use type="submit" instead of type="button" for form submit.
Here's my code :
<!-- javascript code to execute php file -->
<script type="text/javascript">
function executePhp() {
$.post("sendmail.php");
return false;
}
</script>
<!-- javascript code ends -->
<form class="well" action="" method="">
<div class="form-group col-md-6">
<label for="inputPassword4">Full Name</label>
<input type="text" name="name" class="form-control" id="inputPassword4" placeholder="Enter Full Name">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-row">
<div class="form-group col-md-6">
<label for="inputEmail4">Phone Number</label>
<input type="number" name="mobile" class="form-control" id="inputEmail4" placeholder="Enter Mobile Number">
</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-6">
<label for="inputPassword4">Email</label>
<input type="email" name="email" class="form-control" id="inputPassword4" placeholder="Enter Your Email">
</div>
</div>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" onclick="executePhp()" style="margin-left: 3%;"
data-toggle="modal" data-target="#myModal">Check</button>
</form>
<!-- Code for popup -->
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade mymodal" id="myModal" role="dialog">
<div class="modal-dialog mydialog">
<!-- Modal content-->
<div class="modal-content mycontent">
<div class="modal-header myheader">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal">×</button>
<h3 class="modal-title">Message</h3>
</div>
<div class="modal-body mybody">
<br>
<br>
<h3>Thanks for choosing</h3>
<h4>
Your details will arive by email.

</h4>
<br>
<br>
</div>
<div class="modal-footer myfooter">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-default" data-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<!-- Code for popup end-->
Thank you.
You can use Jquery to achieve this.
In you php you can have two variables before the validation like:
$popup_message = "";
$popup_message_color = "";
Now if the form is validated you can display the modal like this:
$popup_message = "login successfully.";
$popup_message_color = "success";
//Open Modal
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#myModal').modal('show');
});
</script>";
In the modal body you can display the message and color.
<div class="modal-body">
<p class="text-<?php echo $popup_message_color; ?>"><?php echo $popup_message; ?></p>
</div>
The same would be done for if validation fails, just change your message and color to $popup_message_color = "danger";
Note If you are validation to another page then the modal should be in that page and you change the close buttons to a link to go back.
Also php script should come after you loaded the jquery.
Whenever I attempt to click the submit button, nothing happens.
I have attempted to change the button, however I doubt this is the issue.
JavaScript Code:
$('#contactForm').submit(function () {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "php/contact.php",
data: $('#contactForm').serialize(),
success: function (msg) {
if (msg == 'SEND') {
$('.success').fadeIn();
$('.error').fadeOut();
$('#contactForm')[0].reset();
} else {
$('.success').fadeOut();
$('.error').fadeIn().find('h3').text(msg);
}
}
});
return false;
});
HTML Code:
<div>
<h2 class="small-heading">CONTACT US</h2>
<div class="contact-form col-sm-11 clearfix">
<form action="contact-complete.php" id="contactForm" method="post" name="contactForm">
<fieldset>
<div class="col-sm-12">
<input id="name" name="name" placeholder="Your Name*" type="text" value="">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12">
<input id="email" name="email" placeholder="Your Email*" type="text" value="">
</div>
<div class="col-xs-12">
<textarea cols="5" id="message" name="message" placeholder="Your Message....*"></textarea>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-12">
<button type="submit" form="contactForm" class="submit active">SEND</button>
</div>
<div class="error col-xs-12">
<h3></h3>
</div>
<!-- Error Message [ END ] -->
<div class="success col-xs-12" id="update">
<h3>Success! Your message was sent.</h3>
</div>
<!-- Submit Button [ END ] -->
</fieldset>
</form>
<!-- Contact Form [ END ] -->
</div>
</div>
If you could please help me out this would be much appreciated.
Thank you for all of your help.
This seems to be an issue within the AJAX call. I removed "return false;" from the code and it seemed to work. However, it was sending the information twice. So I just removed the AJAX code all together and it worked just fine redirecting to the PHP mail() script.
Thanks for all of your help.
Your button doesnt have an action and you don´t listen for it either
<button type="submit" form="contactForm" class="submit active" OnClick="submit()">SEND</button>
Or add an ID and listen for that in the JS
I'll try to explain this as best as possible.
I have a form that on submit actions on email.php:
<form data-toggle="validator" role="form" method="POST" action="email.php">
<div class="row">
<!-- Full Name -->
<div class="form-group col-lg-4">
<label for="inputName" class="control-label">Name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="inputName" id="inputName" required>
</div>
<!-- email -->
<div class="form-group col-lg-4">
<label for="inputEmail" class="control-label">Email</label>
<input type="email" class="form-control" name="inputEmail" id="inputEmail" data-error="Incorrect Email Format" required>
</div>
<!-- phone number -->
<div class="form-group col-lg-4">
<label for="inputTel" class="control-label">Phone Number</label>
<input type="text" pattern="(?:\(\d{3}\)|\d{3})[- ]?\d{3}[- ]?\d{4}" name="inputTel" id="inputTel" data-minlength="10" maxlength="15" class="form-control" placeholder="123-456-7890" data-error="(123)-456-7890 | 1234567890 | 123-456-7890">
</div>
<!-- message -->
<div class="form-group col-lg-12">
<label for="content" class="control-label">Message</label>
<textarea name="content" id="content" class="form-control" rows="6" data-minlength="5" data-error="Message Must be longer"></textarea>
</div>
<!-- button -->
<div class="form-group col-lg-12">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default">Submit</button>
</div>
</div>
</form>
After the form is successfully processed in email.php, I want it to go back to the page the form is located on and show the "thank you" modal I created
currently I have in email.php (after validation):
echo "<script>
$(window).load(function(){
$('#myModal').modal('show');
});
window.location.href="Websitename";
</script>";
This does not work. What happens is the page just gets redirected but does not display the modal.
Can anyone please provide me any assistance?
I think the problem is in
window.location.href="Websitename";
When browser see this line , she will automatically locate the browser which means new request immediately made.
Let me explain :
Your form send request to email.php -----> sends response as a javascript --> javascript request to "website name".
In order to correct this issue , you should put window.location.href inside timeout function and that timeout triggered after window.load .
Please check :
echo "<script>
function deferredFunction(){
window.location.href="Websitename";
}
$(window).load(function(){
$('#myModal').modal('show');
setTimeout(deferredFunction,5000);
});
</script>";
Hope Helps!!
I need to show a success message upon the change of password, the issue is success message displays and vanishes in no time even though I increase the delay time.
For testing you have to give same password and confirm password value
Here is the code,
<div class="modal-body">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-2"></div>.
<!-- This is the div where I display message -->
<div class="col-md-8" id="alert-msg" style="display: none;">
<div style="text-align: center;" class="alert alert-success">
<strong>Success! Your Request Has Been Submitted!!</strong>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<form class="form col-md-12 center-block" id="pass" method="GET" action="index.php">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="password" class="form-control input-lg" placeholder="Password" name="pass1" id="f_pass">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="password" class="form-control input-lg" placeholder="Confirm Password" name="pass2" id="c_pass">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button type="submit" id="msg-sub" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg btn-block">Submit</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
This is the script part,
<script>
$("#msg-sub").click(function(){
var pass1= $("#f_pass").val();
if(pass1 !=='') {
$('#alert-msg').show(0).delay(3000).hide(0);
}
});
</script>
Here is the url,
Please help me out, Thanks in advance!!!
The error is with the script, you need to wrap it inside jQuery .ready method. You also need to prevent the click handler propagation by using event.preventDefault()
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#msg-sub").click(function(e){
var pass1= $("#f_pass").val();
if(pass1 !=='') {
$('#alert-msg').css('display', 'block').delay(3000).fadeOut(600);
}
e.preventDefault();
});
});
</script>
Here's a link to the codepen: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/vKLdJj
The problem is that the submit event is triggered since this click is on a submit button. Return false within your click handler to stop propagation. This works.
$("#msg-sub").off().click(function(){
var pass1= $("#f_pass").val();
if(pass1 !=='') {
$('#alert-msg').show(0).delay(3000).hide(0);
}
return false;
});

It's the submit button "Subscribe" that you can also see in

Thank you!
How about this? I think is should do what you're after?
HTML
<input id="submit-button" class="button" type="submit" value="Subscribe" data-dojo-attach-point="submitButton">
JS
$('#submit-button').on('click', function(e){
e.preventDefault();
// Do what you want to do
});
set id="btn" attribute to your submitting button and using jQuery you can trigger click with $("#btn").click(); call
If your aim is to submit the form, then don't bother sending a click event, but use the form's submit method:
var form = document.getElementById('uniqName_3_0').parentNode.parentNode;
form.submit();
The code is of course easier if you give the form an id attribute:
<form id="myform" ...
and then:
document.getElementById('myform').submit();
That button is inside an iframe. To access it from the parent page you would trigger it like this:
$('iframe').contents().find('input:submit').click()
