Sorry, I'm newbie,
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var x = document.getElementById('x').value;
var y = document.getElementById('y').value;
var z = x + y;
alert(z);
</script>
</head>
<body>
<input type="number" id="x" />
<input type="number" id="y" />
</body>
</html>
If my input x = 100, and y input = 200.
My popup alert are 100200.
How to fixed this?
thank you.
It's because the value is a string, you need to convert it to a number and then do the addition.. This should do it..
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var x = parseInt(document.getElementById('x').value);
var y = parseInt(document.getElementById('y').value);
var z = x + y;
alert(z);
</script>
</head>
<body>
<input type="number" id="x" />
<input type="number" id="y" />
</body>
</html>
Function parseInt will convert the string to an integer number and then 100+200 will be 300.
Find the Fiddle here
Use
var z = parseInt(x) + parseInt(y);
You need to typecast variables using parseInt(var) since they are
strings.
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var x = document.getElementById('x').value;
var y = document.getElementById('y').value;
var z = parseInt(x) + pasreInt(y);
alert(z);
</script>
</head>
<body>
<input type="number" id="x" />
<input type="number" id="y" />
</body>
</html>

My code error is pretty obvious but I can´t see it.
It's very simple my form ask the height and weight and calculate the corporal mass index the user input height in meters and convert to inches (function works ok)
input kilos and convert to pounds (works ok too) but in this process must calculate the index and write it in another textbox. that's my problem!
What am I doing wrong??? heres my code:
function myFunctionmts() {
var x = document.getElementById("mters");
var y = document.getElementById("inches");
y.value = ((x.value*100)/2.54).toFixed(2);
document.getElementById("mters").value=x.value;
document.getElementById("inches").value=y.value;
}
</script>
<script>
function myFunctionkg() {
var i = document.getElementById("imc");
var p = document.getElementById("inches");
var x = document.getElementById("kilos");
var z = document.getElementById("pounds");
var step1 = 0;
var step2 = 0;
var step3 = 0;
z.value = (x.value/.454).toFixed(2);
libras.value=z.value;
document.getElementById("pounds").value=z.value;
step1.value = z.value*703;
step2.value = step1.value/p.value;
step3.value = (step2.value/p.value).toFixed(1);
document.getElementById("imc").value=step3.value
}

What do I have to do to define oppstart ? Is this the reason why the calculator isn't working ? I do not get any result when clicking calculate, however the rest of the code seems to work.

So the reset button is the only thing that works. Is it possible to calculate the math this way?
You asked a question on how to create a pizza form a while ago and you deleted it soon as it was down voted a few times.
The point to note here is, it is okay if a few people dislike your question. You've joined StackExchange not to gain points but to learn a few things. Your question could be helpful to a lot of others out there in this world. So here it is the answer to your pizza question
<html>
<body>
<p>A pizza is 13 dollars with no toppings.</p>
<form action="form_action.asp">
<input type="checkbox" name="pizza" value="Pepperoni" id="pep">Pepperoni + 5$<br>
<input type="checkbox" name="pizza" value="Cheese" id="che">Cheese + 4$<br>
<br>
<input type="button" onclick="myFunction()" value="Send order">
<input type="button" onclick="cost()" value="Get cost">
<br><br>
<input type="text" id="order" size="50">
</form>
<script>
function myFunction() {
var pizza = document.forms[0];
var txt = "";
var i;
for (i = 0; i < pizza.length; i++) {
if (pizza[i].checked) {
txt = txt + pizza[i].value + " ";
}
}
document.getElementById("order").value = "You ordered a pizza with: " + txt;
}
function cost() {
var pep = 5;
var che = 4;
var pizza = 13;
var total = 0;
if (document.getElementById("pep").checked === true) {
total += pep;
}
if (document.getElementById("che").checked === true) {
total += che;
}
document.getElementById("order").value = "The cost is : " + total;
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
Thanks. I hope this helps you.
Adeno Fixed it by declaring what fah was. you can also see your errors with f12.

You never get the value from the input type = "number"
Try this

<script>
function calculate()
{
var fah = document.getElementById('fah').value;
var cel = parseFloat(fah * 0.5555 - 32);

<button type="reset" value="Reset">Reset</button>
</form>
<p id="finish">°C</p>
</body>
</html>
Couple things: You need to set the innerhtml from within the function because the variable is in the function. Or you could have declared the variable outside the function first like var fah = "" then the function. But since you declared it in the function only the function can see it. So i moved the innerhtml set into the function.
Also, javascript likes to use id's not name = "fah" You can call an element by name but id is easier.
i rounded it to integer. you would get 9 decimals your way.
Lastly, innerhtml set clears all the html so you would lose the °C the way you had it.

I have a question?
How do I output the value from input x1 and value from input y1 with document.write in Javascript using X and Y as variables?
HTML Code:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function myFunction() {
var x1 = document.test.x1.value;
var y1 = document.test.y1.value;
var x = parseInt(x1)*parseInt(y1)
document.getElementById("x").value = x;
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<br>
<form name="test">
inpout<br><br>
<input type="number" name="x1" id="x1" style="width:70px"> X *
<input type="number" name="y1" id="y1" style="width:70px"> Y
<br><br>
<input type="button" name="Solve" value="Solve" onclick="myFunction()" ><br>
<br><br>
OutPut =<output type="number" name="x" id="x" style="width:100px"></output> <br><br>
Documen.write X = .... Y =...
</form>
</center>
</body>
</html>
Thanks!
this help you :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>

<body>

<form name="test">
input<br><br>
<input type="number" name="x1" id="x1" style="width:70px"> X *
<input type="number" name="y1" id="y1" style="width:70px"> Y
<br><br>
<input type="button" name="Solve" value="Solve" onclick="myFunction()" ><br>
<br><br>
OutPut =<output type="number" name="x" id="x" style="width:100px"></output> <br><br>
<p id="info"></p>
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
function myFunction() {
var x1 = document.forms['test']["x1"].value;
var y1 = document.forms['test']["y1"].value;
var x = x1 * y1;
document.getElementById("x").value = x;
document.getElementById("info").innerHTML = "X : " + x1 + " Y : " + y1;
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
So all I want here to happen is that how can I put all the given output in the answer textbox.
UPDATE
<html>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
function myFunction() {
var x = parseInt(document.f1.n1.value);
var y = parseInt(document.f1.n2.value);
if(x>=y) {
document.write("Invalid");
}

{
document.write(x)
x=x+1;
}
}

</form>
</body>
</html>
Thank you in advance
You can do something like this:
Give answer input an id:
<input id="answerTextBox" type="text" name="ans" disabled>
After while loop populate answer textbox:
while (x>y)
{
document.getElementById("answerTextBox").value += ("" + x);
x=x+1;
}
This will put x and y in your answer textbox.
