I am trying to set a default value in my bootstrap datetimepicker, but it doe not set up with the default value.
var fromDate = "2022-08-24T11:24:00";
$('#inputFromDate').datetimepicker({
format: 'DD/MM/YYYY HH:mm',
useCurrent: false,
defaultDate: new Date(new Date(fromDate).setHours(23, 59))
});
And my input field looks like this
<div class="input-group" id="inputFromDate">
<input type='text' id="FromDate" name="FromDate" class="form-control valid" placeholder="From Date" />
<span class="input-group-addon">
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-calendar"></span>
</span>
</div>
Can anyone help with this?
defaultDate: "24/08/2022 11:24";
or
defaultDate: (new Date()).toLocaleString();

I'm using Boostrap datetime picker to make reservations in fullcalendar.
I would like to pre-fill my datetime piker with the selected date and time when clicking the calendar.
With the following code I can pre-fill the time but not the date and I don't know why. I found that I should just change the format I want to display, but after doing that, the date is not being pre-filled.
select: function(inform) {
var date_from= new Date(inform.startStr);
var date_to= new Date(inform.endStr) ;
let currentDate = new Date();
if (date_from >= currentDate) {
$('#exampleModalToggle').modal('show');
console.log(' date clicked bigger than current date, you can do reservation')
$(".fc-highlight").css("background", "#ffc800", "important!");
$(function() {
$("#start_date_picker").datetimepicker({
format: 'yyyy-MM-dd',
locale: "fr",
useCurrent:false,
defaultDate: date_from,
});
$("#start_hour_picker").datetimepicker({
format: 'HH:mm',
useCurrent:false,
defaultDate: date_from,
});
$("#end_date_picker").datetimepicker({
format: 'yyyy-MM-dd',
useCurrent:false,
defaultDate: date_to,
});
$("#end_hour_picker").datetimepicker({
format: 'HH:mm',
useCurrent:false,
defaultDate: date_to,
})
});
}
},
<!--Start Date-->

</div>

<input name="end_hour" type="time" lang="fr" class="timepicker modal_rigth_elements"
required>
</div>
I have tried different formats, like yyyy-mm-dd, 'mm-dd-yyyy' , 'mm/dd/yyyy' and nothing is working. I don't even have error messages. So I don't know what is happening.
I'm using this datetimepicker :
<link rel="stylesheet"href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrap-datetimepicker/4.17.37/css/bootstrap-datetimepicker.min.css" />
Thansk a lot for all your help
I am using the bootstrap4 gijgo datepicker and the below code works fine:
<div id="myDatePicker" class="form-group" style="display: none;">
<label asp-for="Test.Date" class="control-label">Date</label>
<input id="datepicker" width="276"/>
<span asp-validation-for="Test.Date" class="text-danger"></span>
</div>
The problem comes in when I add 'asp-for'. Googles default datepicker appears and breaks my datepicker.
[DisplayFormat(ApplyFormatInEditMode = true, DataFormatString = "{0:MM/dd/yyyy}")]
public DateTime ExpiryDate { get; set; }
<div id="myDatePicker" class="form-group" style="display: none;">
<label asp-for="Test.Date" class="control-label">Date</label>
<input asp-for="Test.Date" id="datepicker" width="276"/>
<span asp-validation-for="Test.Date" class="text-danger"></span>
</div>
$('#datepicker').datepicker({
uiLibrary: 'bootstrap4',
format: 'dd/mm/yyyy',
minDate: Date.now(),
maxDate: function() {
var date = new Date();
date.setDate(date.getDate()+5);
return new Date(date.getFullYear(), date.getMonth(), date.getDate());
}
});
This works fine in Firefox.
I fixed it by changing:
<input asp-for="Test.Date" id="datepicker" width="276"/>
to
<input type="text" asp-for="Test.Date" id="datepicker" width="276"/>
Bootstrap DatePicker is resetting to default date after page reload. If I don't reload the page I'm able to keep selected date
<div class="form-group">
<label>Action Date </label>
<div class='input-group date' id='dpServiceDate'>
<input type='text' class="form-control" id="actionDate" name="actionDate" />
<span class="input-group-addon">
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-calendar"></span>
</span>
</div>
</div>
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#dpServiceDate').datetimepicker({
defaultDate: "#Model.ActionDate.Date.ToString("MM-dd-yyyy")",
format: 'MM-DD-YYYY',
maxDate: moment().subtract(1, 'days')
}).on('dp.change', function(e) {
location.href = "/XYZ/DashBoard/Index?Id=" + #Model.ClientId + "&ActionDate=" + $("#actionDate").val();
})
});
Add useCurrent: false
$(document).ready(function() {

var dateToday = new Date();
var dates = $("#from, #to").datepicker({
defaultDate: "+1w",
changeMonth: true,
numberOfMonths: 3,
minDate: dateToday,
onSelect: function(selectedDate) {
var option = this.id == "from" ? "minDate" : "maxDate",
instance = $(this).data("datepicker"),
date = $.datepicker.parseDate(instance.settings.dateFormat || $.datepicker._defaults.dateFormat, selectedDate, instance.settings);
dates.not(this).datepicker("option", option, date);
}
});
Try the above piece of code
I replicated your code and it is working fine.
Can be more clear on the versions and packages you use.
For Datepicker which package you use. I used jquery ui
For bootstrap you have used v3 (which is not a consideration here), but the latest version is 4
http://jsfiddle.net/0oL2yh6r/1/
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
$( "#fromDate" ).datepicker({
minDate: new Date(),
autoclose : true,
todayHighlight : true,
format : 'dd-M-yyyy'
});
});
i need to give user to select a date and a time and get that as an input here i have added the basic code i use and i need to restrict user only to add future date and a time not past dates or time!
$(function () {
var currentDate = new Date();
$('#datetimepicker1').datetimepicker({
//viewMode: 'years',
format: 'DD/MM/YYYY'
});
$('#datetimepicker2').datetimepicker({
format: 'LT'
});
});

</div>
</div>
</div>
my question is i need to allow user only to put future date not past ones!
Restrict the range of selectable dates with the minDate and maxDate options.
$('#datetimepicker1').datepicker({ minDate: 0});
See the official documentation here.
or you can check this example from the documentation bootstrap datetimepicker
$('.starts_on, .ends_on').datetimepicker({
format: 'YYYY-MM-DD',
useCurrent: false,
minDate: moment()
});
$('.starts_on').datetimepicker()
.on('dp.change', function(v){
var incrementDay = moment(new Date(v.date));
incrementDay.add(1, 'days');
$('.ends_on').data('DateTimePicker').minDate(incrementDay);
$(this).data("DateTimePicker").hide();
});
$('.ends_on').datetimepicker()
.on('dp.change', function(v){
var decrementDay = moment(new Date(v.date));
decrementDay.subtract(1, 'days');
$('.starts_on').data('DateTimePicker').maxDate(decrementDay);
$(this).data("DateTimePicker").hide();
});
Try this
$("#datetimepicker1").datepicker({
minDate: 1,
onSelect: function(theDate) {
$("#datetimepicker1").datepicker('option', 'minDate', new Date(theDate));
},
dateFormat: 'mm/dd/yy'
});
use minDate: 1, this should allow only future date
$('#datetimepicker1').datetimepicker({
minDate:1,
format: 'DD/MM/YYYY'
});
i got issue solved by this thank you everyone for your help they were very helpful!
$('#datetimepicker1').datetimepicker({
//viewMode: 'years',
//minDate:0,
//format: 'DD/MM/YYYY'
format: "MM/DD/YYYY",minDate: new Date()
});
