I am creating a web page that will have several buttons on it. When a button is pressed it will play a tone or combination of tones.
With the Google Web Designer application, I can create a simple page with one button on it. I'm able to associate the clicking of that button with "Custom Code" for that button in order to play a tone, and it works.
I have not been able to figure out how to use one JavaScript file that several buttons use for their tone-generating functions - rather than having "Custom Code" for each button separately.
I'm not a software engineer and perhaps Google Web Designer is not the appropriate tool.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I want to do a survey in which a participant listens to a sound (I link to a Google Drive .mp3 file in the question), then they respond by using an embedded colour picker to drag and choose a specific hex code.
The widget would be similar (if not the same as) the one shown here.
I just want to know how a user would "submit" the colour that they pick.
I don't want to add to many steps as to confuse the participant (as in, go to this colour picker in another tab, type the hex code in this box).
If there's an action I can include to 'submit' their choice, a better survey hosting site (preferably free, please) or a better widget that allows a user to click and drop to a point on the colour spectrum... Please let me know :) thanks!
I have 1000s routine clicks that I have to do on website.
They involve clicking on an option on a drop down menu that pops up after clicking on a name and then repeating this about a dozen times then loading for more names at the bottom of the page and repeating the procedure for 1000s of names
I have basic skills in web development and I am told a JavaScript can be used to automate this clicks but I have never used it to automate actions or trigger clicks on a website
Please help me save time
Yes it is possible to do it with jquery, JavaScript using this technique
$('button').click();
But the best thing is to use automation software to perform all your tasks on your computer.
This one may help you alot.

So here's the deal. I'm creating a personal start page for every time I open up a new tab or window on my browser. In my current start page, I have a search field which immediately searches in Google for me. However, many times I search for images or videos or wikipedia etc. I want to eliminate having to click on (for example) Images after my Google search. I would like to have a dropdown box next to my search, and be able to choose images, following which it would automatically search in Google Images, instead of going to standard Google.
Here's an example of what I'm thinking about:

So the default would be blue, which will do a standard Google search. If I want to search for an image, I click the red icon in the dropdown before the search, which would automatically do a Google Image search. I'd prefer having a dropdown box, and not an option list.
Is this possible? If so, can someone help me with how to go about doing it? I am not a web developer, but I am comfortable with basic and intermediary concepts of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Linking me some tutorials to this would be helpful, if they exist. I wasn't able to find any in my searches, but maybe I've been using the wrong terms.
Cheers.
The feature you're looking for is called search engines. You can map a keyword to a search engine.
For instance I can type y nyancat in the omnibar to search for "nyancat" on YouTube.
Similarly you can set one up for google images.
When we want to log-out from the google/gmail account, we click on the profile picture displayed at the right most of the Google bar. The scenario with the pop-up is shown in below figure.
What does this functionality called in jQuery, HTML? I think it's not a modal pop-up as it's not appearing on the existing content of a page and background content is non-clickable. Also it can't be called as tool-tip as it's not showing up on mouse hover, we need to click on profile picture to see the log out button. So what does it called?
I'm asking this thing curiously because I need to implement same functionality in my website. That is when user clicks on specific text the pop-up/tool-tip(for now I'm using these words for your understanding only, may be I'm using wrong words). As I don't know the exact word for this functionality I'm not able to find out such jQuery plugin on internet which would behave the same way.
One more thing is that I want to use a form in this pop-up/tool-tip which would be submitted to PHP using AJAX.

I'm customizing the Quote entity, aiming to replace the stock Quote Products grid with a customized, Silverlight-powered DataGrid. It basically aims to extend the basic "related records view" functionality (mostly, it adds some calculated fields and inline editing, nothing too fancy).
Of course, the more seamlessly integrated the whole thing ends up to be, the better: I skinned it nicely, basic functionalities are there, but the Ribbon is a big issue, I would like it to show up the Quote Details SubGrid ribbon but obviously the thing has no knowledge about what my custom navigation link is showing.
I know Ribbon Rules but they don't seem to address this need; I'm not aware of any XRM function to accomplish it either. Is it even doable ? If so, how can I accomplish this ?
More about what I already have:
I added a custom link (let's name it My Awesome Grid) to the lefthand Navigation Area, pointing to an HTML Web resource (let's name it new_AwesomeGridPage). This resource merely hosts a Silverlight application (which is yet another web resource, new_AwesomeGrid) containing a DataGrid which lists the Quote Details in a customized, fancier way. The grid is being fed via the OData service and everything works smoothly (it could be pointed out that it doesn't really matter where the data comes from and what it represents, and it would be true of course), except for the Form Ribbon which doesn't "switch" like it does when one clicks a builtin navigation link for a related entity. I am thereby wondering how (if?) one can force the ribbon to show the commands for an arbitrary related entity, when a custom navigation link is used to show an HTML Web Resource ?
Hmm bit of an awkward situation, I'm afraid I don't have a detailed solution to this, just an approach.
As far as I know there is no way to just 'hook up' the standard ribbon to a custom Silverlight grid.
I think what you will have to do is; add enable/visibilty rules to all the existing buttons and then disable/hide them when someone is looking at your grid. What form this rule will take I'm not sure, possibly JavaScript.
Then create new buttons with JavaScript actions that communicate with your Silverlight application, then have your Silverlight application perform whatever logic is required.
For ribbon customisations I would suggest starting with the Ribbon Workbench, its an excellent tool for ribbon editing.
