position: "absolute" with Button is not working on IOS | React Native - javascript

I have a hamburger button that triggers a side menu in a mobile app. The button doesn't respond when position is set to absolute. I have seen similar issue which suggest wrapping the button with <View> </View> and setting its position to absolute, however this didn't work in my case. The button doesn't respond when being clicked on IOS. Android works perfectly fine

Solved by wrapping around SafeAreaView and setting zIndex to a high number.

React Native ScrollView component onScroll prop function is delayed

I am using react-native-paper library to add a floating action button (FAB) which changes its width based on the scroll direction of the user.
What it's supposed to do -
If the user is scrolling upward expand the FAB instantly and contract on scrolling downward.
What's happening -
It is giving me the desired results but for some reason its take 3-4 seconds for the effect to take place.

Solutions i tried -
I tried using the useEffect hook but didn’t notice a significant change.
I tried using the Flatlist component but the issue remains the same.

How to remove focus from a React Native TextInput on button click?

I have a React Native textInput and a button and I would like to remove the focus from the textInput if I were to click on the button. Would that be possible?

The useImperativeHandle hook is the one you need here, And forwardRef, useRef hooks. I have created a new TextInput called ControlledTextInput to pass a react ref to it and expose the blur method outside (App component level). Note that there are two refs one is coming as a prop(to which we bind the functions) and the one inside ControlledTextInput(which is the ref to the actual text input)

How to move label along with slider value in React Native

I am working on a React Native Project, I want to move the label along with the slider value. I tried many ways but its not working accurately.

You can use a shared value and interpolate the left position for the label.
Right now what happens is, that the left value goes from 0 to 300. This makes the label unresponsive. You can do something as shown below.

You cannot apply color to a button using stylesheet.

It has to be given inline. It is a property of button, its not like style attribute unlike tags like View and Text, where stylesheet applies.
If you give some style to your view container it will work, but not with button as its it not supported that way.

Is it possible to close react native modal by clicking on overlay when transparent option is true? Documentation doesn't provide anything about it. Is it possible?

I use TouchableWithoutFeedback since i do not want to change the background color when clicking on it. I also added onStartShouldSetResponder on the modal view to prevent closing the modal when you click inside the view.
I am also not using the Modal component because i done it using react-navigation.
I tried to implement some of the suggested answers, however none worked with buttons inside modal.
I was googling around and found out that instead of using TouchableWithoutFeedback, native component called Pressable allows you to check what you click on, therefore allows you to close only when clicked on it and not it's children.

it's not good practice having a multiple component inside of TouchableOpacity, else all component inside TouchableOpacity parent will be clickable, best way to address this problem is, make your TouchableOpacity component in absolute position, with 100% width and height in screen.

I realize I'm very late to this party. But I just stumbled upon this thread and Gui Herzog's answer was exactly what I was looking for. If you don't want to add any outside dependencies that is the way to go. Thanks!
However, I wanted to include some optional negative/positive action buttons in my component and grabbed them from react-native-paper for the material style.
That's when I realized react-native-paper probably have modals as well.

So I ended up with using the paper Dialog and it's well worth if if you're going to use the library throughout you app. Both Dialog and Modal handles the dismiss on click outside by default.
Here's a Dialog component created before realizing the Dialog component already exists.
I'll leave what I implemented here anyways as I think its a good template.
The component is in typescript. Make sure to have #types/react-native updated otherwise you might see some "No overload matches this call" errors.
