This will dynamically add table rows or delete the row when I click the button. After that, if user deleting the second row, then the row id 2 has been deleted and row id should be interchanged dynamically. Does anyone know how to fix this :(?
For example
<tr class="cb" id="row_0"><td>a</td></tr>
<tr class="cb" id="row_1"><td>b</td></tr>
<tr class="cb" id="row_2"><td>c</td></tr>
If user delete the second, the rest will auto sequence back the ID, it will become as below
<tr class="cb" id="row_0"><td>a</td></tr>
<tr class="cb" id="row_1"><td>c</td></tr>
you don't need the id to get values from input elements, we can easily get value of each input dynamically, check below code.
$('.savebtn').on('click', function(){
$('.listable .cb').each(function(index, item){
console.log($(item).find('input[type=number]').val());
});
});
https://jsfiddle.net/n7dzhwk4/
I think a wiser option, instead of changing the ID, would be to swap the values. You can do that by changing your onclick for delete operation to:
$('tbody').on('click', '.remove', function(){
elements = $(".cb");
current = parseInt($(this).id);
for (let itr = current; itr < elements.length - 1; itr++) {
elements[itr].value = elements[itr + 1].value;
}
elements[elements.length - 1].remove();
i--;
});
Here's the code for that: https://jsfiddle.net/ckpLqs4g/
try this,
actually this is not the best method to solve this, you really dont need to change the id dynamically but i hope this will help you
$('.addRow').on('click', function(){
addRow();
});
function addRow()
{
var rowCount = $('.listable tr').length -1;
var tr = '<tr class="cb" id="row_'+rowCount+'"><td>';
tr += '<select class="form-control select2" id="name1_'+rowCount+' first" name="name[]">';
tr += '<option id="1">tan</option><option id="2">lim</option></select></td>';
tr += '<td><input type="number" name="winlose[]" id="amt1_'+rowCount+'" class="form-control"></td>';
tr += '<td style="text-align:center">-';
tr += '</td></tr>';
i++;
let elementCount = 0
$('tbody').append(tr);
$('tbody').children('tr').each(function () {
this.attr('id',`row_${elementCount}`);
elementCount++;
});
}
$('tbody').on('click', '.remove', function(){
$(this).parent().parent().remove();
});
$('.savebtn').on('click', function(){
$('.listable .cb').each(function(index, item){
console.log($('#amt1_'+index).val());
});
});

I have this dynamic table. Add more button append a new row. Row consists of number or days and date field. Means how many days added results in date.
Now in the second row, if I add a number of days; it must check the previous previous row date or number and result the date. But rowSelected.prev('tr')[0] gives me no value.
Can anybody please help me.
$(function() {

tds += '</tr>';
if ($('tbody', this).length > 0) {
$('tbody', this).append(tds);

$(document).on('change', '.total-days', function(e) {

I am generating dynamic textboxes on button click in a table.
On button click i am calling Details() which appends a new row to the table:
function Details(id,name)
{
var html = '';
html += '<tr>';
html += '<td><input type="text" name="item_id[]" value="'+ id +'" class="form-control item_id" autofocus required /></td>';
html += '<td><input type="text" name="item_name[]" value="'+ name +'" class="form-control item_name" required /></td>';
html += '<td style="text-align:center"><button type="button" name="remove" class="btn btn-danger btn-sm order_item_remove"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-minus"></span></button></td></tr>';
$("#table").append(html);
}
But when i try to live search the data from the table then its rows disappear.
Live Search:
$("#search_field").keyup(function() {
var count = 0;
var value = this.value.toLowerCase().trim();
$("#table").find("tr").each(function(index) {
if (index === 0) return;
var id = $(this).find("td").text().toLowerCase().trim();
$(this).toggle(id.indexOf(value) !== -1);
if(id.indexOf(value) !== -1){
count = count+1;
}
});
});
Table:
<table class="table table-bordered" id="table">
<tr>
<th>ID</th>
<th>Name</th>
</tr>
</table>
What am i doing wrong?? Any help would be appreciated.
You can use this (edited to use non-ES6 syntax):
var rowMatches = $(this)
.find(':input')
.toArray()
.some(function(input) { return $(input).val().toLowerCase().trim().indexOf(value) !== -1; });
$(this).toggle(rowMatches);
Explanation
.text() is not meant to grab input vales.
You need to use .val(). But since there can be multiple inputs per rows, you want to check whether at least one cell matches the filter.
.toArray() transforms the set of nodes into an array,
Array#some returns true if at least one cell's value matches the filter string.
Demo using the rest of your code
$("#search_field").keyup(function() {
var count = 0;
var value = this.value.toLowerCase().trim();
$("#table").find("tr").each(function(index) {
if (index === 0) return;
var rowMatches = $(this)
.find(':input')
.toArray()
.some(function(input) { return $(input).val().toLowerCase().trim().indexOf(value) !== -1; });
$(this).toggle(rowMatches);
if (rowMatches) {
count = count + 1;
}
});
});
function Details(id, name) {
var html = '';
html += '<tr>';
html += '<td><input type="text" name="item_id[]" value="' + id + '" class="form-control item_id" autofocus required /></td>';
html += '<td><input type="text" name="item_name[]" value="' + name + '" class="form-control item_name" required /></td>';
html += '<td style="text-align:center"><button type="button" name="remove" class="btn btn-danger btn-sm order_item_remove"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-minus"></span></button></td></tr>';

<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" style="text-align:left;" id="get_to_area">Transfer Area</button>
</div>
</center>
</div>
Firstly, add classes to each <td>, like <td class='id'>[Your id]</td>
Similarly for all the elements doctor-name, to-area, etc and a class to each <tr> like row-select
Somewhat like this:
<tr class="row-select">
<td class="select">...</td>
<td class="id">...</td>
<td class="to-area">...</td>
.
.
.
</tr>
Use jQuery like this:
$('.row-select').click(function(){
var id,toArea,checkBox;
id = $(this).find('.id').html(); //get the ID field
toArea = $(this).find('.to-area').html(); //get the to-area field
checkBox = $(this).find('.select > input');
checkbox.prop('checked',!checkbox.prop('checked'));
})
This code will get you he value no mater where you click on the row, and also invert the selection on the checkbox
To get the values of rows selected when the form is submitted run a loop like this
$('.row-select input:checked').each(function(){
var id,toArea,checkBox;
id = $(this).closest('tr').find('.id').html(); //get the ID field
toArea = $(this).closest('tr').find('.to-area').html(); //get the to-area field
})
EDIT
All together:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#btnSubmit').click(function() {
$('.row-select input:checked').each(function() {
var id, name;
id = $(this).closest('tr').find('.id').html();
name = $(this).closest('tr').find('.name').html();
alert('ID: ' + id + " | Name: " + name);
})
})
$('#btnSelectAll').click(function() {
$('.row-select input').each(function() {
$(this).prop('checked', true);
})
})
})
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

<button id="btnSubmit">Get Value</button>
Process step-by-step:
Give the td you need some classes (from-a & to-a);
Initialize an empty array all (we'll store the data inside it later on);
Create a function that is triggered by the checkbox change
Inside the function you need to know which checkbox has changed, what's the state of it, what tr does it belong to and at the end what are the TO AREA and FROM AREA values.
If the state = checked we will add the values to the all (our small data storage);
If the state = not-checked we will remove the value from the all array;
Finally when we are done with selecting and deselecting rows by pressing the button we can get the values of the selected rows.
var all = [];
$('input[type="checkbox"]').change(function(){
var checkbox = $(this);
var state = checkbox.prop('checked');
var tr = checkbox.parents('tr');
var from = tr.children('.from-a').text();
var to = tr.children('.to-a').text();
if(state){
all.push(from + ' -> ' + to);
}else{
var index = all.indexOf(from + ' -> ' + to);
all.splice(index, 1);
}
})
$('#get_to_area').click(function(){
alert(all);
});

This is just the basic concept, you can modify it to suit your needs, I'll be happy to help you if you get stuck.
You can also use this fiddle:
In JS:
$('#get_to_area').click(function () {
var id = $('input[name=getchemist]:checked').val();
if ($('input[name=getchemist]').is(':checked')) {
var ID = $('input[name=getchemist]').parent().parent().siblings('td.chkid').html();
var TO_Area = $('input[name=getchemist]').parent().parent().siblings('td.toarea').html();
}
else {
alert('Please Check');
}
});
In Html:
if (res['status'] == 1) {
var htmlString = '';
$.each(res['data'], function (key, value) {
htmlString += '<tr>';
htmlString += ' <td class="sorting_1"><div class="checkbox-custom checkbox-success"><input type="checkbox" id="checkboxExample3" name="getchemist" class="getchemist" value="' + value.id + '"><label for="checkboxExample3"></label></div></td>';
htmlString += '<td class="chkid">' + value.id + '</td>';
htmlString += '<td>' + value.name + '</td>';
htmlString += '<td>' + value.area + '</td>';
htmlString += '<td class="toarea">' + value.to_area + '</td>';
htmlString += '<td>' + value.address + '</td>';
htmlString += '</tr>';
});
I'm guessing you need values of each td whose checbox are checked. This piece of code should get you started.
As you can see, Code loops through each checkbox which is checked, gets contents inside its corresponding td.
var Result = new Array();
$('.checkbox-custom input[type="checkbox"]:checked').each(function(){
var _this = $(this).closest('tr').find('td');
var id= $(_this).eq(0);
var name = $(_this).eq(1);
................... //Similar way for the others
Result.Push(id,name,....)
});
I have gone through google and some of SO questions (such as this & this) as well but I didn't find the solution.
I am working for validation of a dynamically generated rows in a table,initially I am trying to validate the first td, loop and alert is working all fine but document.getElementById() is giving a null value. The script is at the very bottom of the page.
and here is the JS code.
edit: I have added the code, and what I am trying to do is display the error (Please fill) when field is left blank on the click of submit button and hide it when it is filled.
$(function(){
$(document).on("click",".addRowAux",function(){
/*var valanx1 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(2)").children("input").val();
var valanx2 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(3)").children("input").val();
var valanx3 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(4)").children("select").val();
var valanx4 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(4)").children("input").val();*/
var countrow= $("#annextable tr").length;
/*countrow++;*/
if(countrow<11)
{
$("#aux").append('<tr><td align="center">'+countrow+'</td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_name[]" id="ref_name"/><span id="refNm_error">Please fill</span></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_desg[]" id="ref_desg"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_address[]" id="ref_address"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_email[]" id="ref_email"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_mobile[]" id="ref_mobile"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_pan[]" id="ref_pan"/></td><td align="center"><span class="addRowAux">Add</span> <span id="removeRowaux">Remove</span></td></tr>');

Because you are adding extra quotes in beginning and end in variable k. use:
var k = 'refNm_error' + (i+1);
You might need to reload the DOM after adding dynamic elements.
This link might help
Update, when you created your dynamic table rows for the table you didn't assign unique ids for input elements. So I updated the addRow handler:
$(document).on("click", ".addRowAux", function () {
to add unique input ids, like following:
$("#aux").append('<tr><td align="center">' + countrow + '</td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_name[]" id="ref_name_' + countrow + '"/><span id="refNm_error_' + countrow + '">Please fill</span>...
and also I changed in the code:
<span id="removeRowaux">Remove</span>
to use class instead of an id:
<span class="removeRowaux">Remove</span>
Now the remove row handler listens to events from spans with class removeRowaux:
$(document).on('click', '.removeRowaux', function ()
Now the remove row functionality works and there are no spans with identical ids. So I don't think there was anything wrong with getElementById() in the code - it works fine :-)
Updated Fiddle
I have buttons that add and (supposedly) remove rows and elements in a table dynamically.
I cannot however get the last row in the table to delete unless it is the last remaining row.
My goal is there must be at least 1 (the first row with inputs) that cannot be deleted.
my HTML:
<TABLE id="tblTradesman">
<TR>
<TH>Name:</TH>
<TH>Arrive: (hh:mm)</TH>
<TH>Leave: (hh:mm)</TH>
</TR>
<TR>
<div id="rows">
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTradesman<? $i ?>"></TD>
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTimeArrive<? $i ?>"></TD>
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTimeLeave<? $i ?>"></TD>
</div>
</TR>
</TABLE>
<input id="btnAddTradesperson" type="button" value="Add" /><input id="btnDelTradesperson" type="button" value="Del" />
My Scripts:
$("#btnAddTradesperson").click(function () {
$("#tblTradesman").each(function () {
var tds = '<tr>';
jQuery.each($('tr:last td', this), function () {
tds += '<td>' + $(this).html() + '</td>';
});
tds += '</tr>';
if ($('tbody', this).length > 0) {
$('tbody', this).append(tds);
} else {
$(this).append(tds);
}
});
});
$("#btnDelTradesperson").click(function (){
$("#tblTradesman").each(function(){
if($('tbody', this).length > 1){
$('tbody tr:last', this).remove();
}else {
alert("Must be at least 1 Trades person assigned to this job.")
}
});
});
Link to FIDDLE demo
I FIGURE IT OUT:
if($('tbody tr', this).length > 1)
Adding the 'tr' was key to it all.
Your html is invalid(div cannot be a child of tr) and need to use thead and tbody to separate the table header and body
<TABLE id="tblTradesman">
<thead>
<TR>
<TH>Name:</TH>
<TH>Arrive: (hh:mm)</TH>
<TH>Leave: (hh:mm)</TH>
</TR>
</thead>
<tbody>
<TR>
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTradesman<? $i ?>"/></TD>
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTimeArrive<? $i ?>"/></TD>
<TD><input type="text" id="txtTimeLeave<? $i ?>"/></TD>
</TR>
</tbody>
</TABLE>
<input id="btnAddTradesperson" type="button" value="Add" /><input id="btnDelTradesperson" type="button" value="Del" />
then
var $tbody = $("#tblTradesman tbody")
$("#btnDelTradesperson").click(function (){
var $last = $tbody.find('tr:last');
if($last.is(':first-child')){
alert('last is the only one')
}else {
$last.remove()
}
});
Demo: Fiddle
Your code is modified to make it work:
$("#btnAddTradesperson").click(function () {
$("#tblTradesman").each(function () {
