Unable to use position:sticky; while adding element through .innerHTML - javascript

I want to make the menu stick to the top of the page.
The code works just fine if I just add the code to the page.
However, I want to use javascript because I want to be able to change the menu on every page without having to do it manually on each one.
document.getElementById('menu-js').innerHTML = `<div id="menu">
<div class="dropdown">

<div class="dropdown-content">

Your code seems almost perfect in terms of sticky property.
Try to add a max-height property(value in pixel) to the menu-js div.

class text-content set into class slider but it is pushed down?

I am coding a very simple HTML CSS program and here is my problem.
I made a picture in id named slider, and I want to write some text into it. And as the tutorial, I wrote a class named text-content in the slider. Very easy to understand, right?
Here is all of my index.html code
* {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
box-sizing: border-box;
}
html {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}
#main {
}
#header {
height: 46px;
background-color: #000;
position: fixed;
top: 0;
left: 0;
right: 0;
}
#header .search-btn {
float: right;
padding: 12px 24px;
}
#header .search-btn:hover {
background-color: #f44336;
cursor: pointer;
}
#header .search-icon {
color: #fff;
font-size: 20px;
}
#nav {
display: inline-block;
}
#nav li {
position: relative;
}
#nav > li {
display: inline-block;
}
#nav li a {
text-decoration: none;
line-height: 46px;
padding: 0 24px;
display: block;
}
#nav .subnav li:hover a,
#nav > li:hover > a {
color : #000;
background-color: #ccc;
}
#nav > li > a {

text-transform: uppercase;

That is all of my code.
Here is the tutorial's picture, as you can see, the text is in the picture
Because when I click on the picture, it said to me that it is in the slider.
As you can see in this picture
I thought that if the picture is in the slider, and the text-content is in the slider, the text-content must in the picture?
My question is, I put class text-content in id slider, but the class text-content is pushed down, as you can see in this picture
Could you please explain this problem to me? Thank you very much for your time.
I assume you want to make a Hero Image. You can move the text position up.

As you question that you want to create a hero image section and you facing some design issue. so you have to look for CSS properties that should you've to use. If you want a demo section like that then I can suggest you check this manual.
https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_hero_image.asp
You can redesign your section as you want.
For the #slider div, use display:inline-block:
#slider{display:inline-block}

var ignoreClickOnMeElement = document.getElementById('status_menu');
document.addEventListener('click', function(event) {
var isClickInsideElement = ignoreClickOnMeElement.contains(event.target);
if (!isClickInsideElement) {
status_menu.classList.remove("status-menu");
status_menu.classList.add("nostatus-menu");
}
});

Remove double-click on dropdown link

I'm not very knowledgeable in javascript. But I need a dropdown on a vertical menu that is pure javascript, so I copied/paste the script from W3: https://www.w3schools.com/howto/tryit.asp?filename=tryhow_js_sidenav_dropdown
and modified it to fit the page style. This menu needs to be on multiple pages, so it's also an html include. I got it to somewhat work, but you have to double click the drop-drop down in order to close it and this needs to be a single-click. I've been searching for a solution for a couple weeks now and still not sure what I'm doing wrong. I can't use jquery, bootstrap or any outside library since it's not connected to the internet.
HTML:
<div id="content">
<div class="topvert">
<div class="vertheader">
<span class="quicklinks">QUICK MENU LIST</span>
</div>
<div class="vertbtn">
<div class="quick">
Menu Item
</div>
<div class="quick">
<div class="drop-button active"><div onclick="myButton()">Drop down Menu Item
</div></div>
<div class="dropdown-container" style="display: block;">
Menu Item
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="btmvert">
<div class="vertheader">
<span class="quicklinks">2ND HALF (HEADLINE) QUICK MENU</span>

The problem is that on your .drop-button element, you have an inline onClick() attribute/event, AND inside the handler function (function myButton()) you you declare another eventListener on top of that.
You should just remove the onclick="myButton()" attribute all together, and then your JavaScript would look like this:
(Run code snippet)
There are a few different ways in JavaScript to declare event listeners. One way is Inline/HTML Event Handlers that you put inline on the HTML element like an attribute, ie- <div onClick="handlerFunction"> But the more modern, and more recommended way is using addEventListener() directly from your JavaScript.
var dropdown = document.querySelector(".drop-button");
dropdown.addEventListener("click", function() {
this.classList.toggle("active");
var dropdownContent = this.nextElementSibling;
if (dropdownContent.style.display == "block") {
dropdownContent.style.display = "none";
} else {
dropdownContent.style.display= "block";
}
});

How do I make my vertical navbar's text stay at the same place when it opens?

So I have a vertical navbar on my project and I think it's almost finalized but when I click on the "hamburger" menu (three lines) the text inside the navbar move in a weird way during the transition from close to open navbar. I would like it to stay still while the navbar opens.
Also I'm using Bootstrap and I would appreciate any help but even more if it can fit any device (responsive) !
function openNav() {
document.getElementById("mySidenav").style.width = "250px";
}
function closeNav() {
document.getElementById("mySidenav").style.width = "0";

position: fixed;
z-index: 1;
top: 0;
left: -250;
background-color: #111;
overflow-x: hidden;
transition: 0.5s;
padding-top: 60px;
}
<script>
function openNav() {
document.getElementById("mySidenav").style.left ="0";
}
function closeNav() {
document.getElementById("mySidenav").style.left ="-250";
}
</script>
you are changing the width while your text font is set to a static number. so while you are changing the width the html is trying to set the text of same length to a different width, and there is nothing to do with it. So instead of changing the width. just create a static "box", put it to the left so it wouldn't be seen, and bring it right after clicking on a button.
It looks like the issue you're having is because the width is gradually increased.
This means that as it grows, the text goes broken over 2 lines on your longer link names. See example in the image below:
There would be a few ways to fix this but I think the simplest would be to add a min-width: 200px; to your .sidenav a selector like so:
.sidenav a {
padding: 8px 0px 8px 32px;
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 25px;
color: #818181;
display: block;
transition: 0.1s;
min-width: 200px;
}
See this JS Fiddle for an example
Instead of width you need to set the left position to remove the flickering text issue.
Please refer to the below demo.

Creating transparent overlays for horizontal row of 3 <img>

I want to cause an overlay on mouseover for my three images. I believe it will be best to use jQuery after creating a div. However, when I add a new div to my layout (below each of the <img> in my code) My layout is screwed up; goes from horizontal list to vertical list if i try to add in any <div> below my <img>.
I mainly want the overlay just sitting there. Im sure I can figure out mouseover action, but main issue is I cannot generate initial overlay
stackoverflowers: please help me add in an overlay div that will ultimately be transparent.
home.html I have commented out my attempt at placing overlay divs
