css and javascript files are not linked - javascript

Good evening everyone
I would like to deploy a web application (WebForm) developed with VS2017 locally on IIS but the css and javascript files are not linked.
I developed under VS2017, everything works perfectly well, but there I have no idea where the problem may come from.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi;
I solved the problem by activating "Static Content" in Windows Features ==> Internet Information Service ==>. World Wide Web Service ==> Common HTTP Features ==> Static Content.
thank you for all
Static content Steps

Using Developer Tools in most browsers (hit f12 when the page is up), go to the network tab and look what css and JavaScript files are not getting loaded. This will show you where the browser is trying to get the files from. You can usually make adjustments from there. You may have to refresh the page once you are on the network tab to have them reload.

safari loads css/js very slow on client certificate SSL website

I have a website where I use client certificates for accessing the site and it runs with SSL required. It runs on IIS 8.5 on a windows server 2012 R2.
All my css and javascript is minified into 4 seperate files
app.js -> Our own javascript
app.css -> Our own css
vendor.js -> External javascript libraries
vendor.css -> External css libraries
All of these files are minified and placed locally on the server.
The site works very well when using chrome or IE from a computer, but when using safari (only tried safari 5 on PC and latest safari on iphone 6/7) the page can stuck in a "loading" mode. The does not happend every time, and when it does it often helps with clearing the cache in safari and try again.
The website also uses local storage to save some userdata, and a cookie that stores a token for authentication. Not sure if this is useful information, just throwing it out there.
It can connect to the webserver, since we can see the EV+ certificate.
When debugging the phone on a mac, or safari on a PC and looking at the network tab in the developer window I can see that sometimes it takes really long time for the browser to load some of the css and/or javascript files.
Sometimes it appears to be vendor.js, and sometimes app.css, and sometimes the other ones. There seems to be no logic to me, that its always the same files etc.
The site is .NET 4.6 site, running with angularjs, signalr 2.2.1 and html5 in the front.
We have tried
Monotoring IIS Logs and network traffic
Remove sourcemap on css/js to reduce file size
Tried reference signalr/hubs (the generated js file). And also tried copying the content into vendor.js so there is a local version instead
Without any success ATM. I would really appreciate help, feeling stuck on this one.
Many Thanks!
It may be dynamic compression. Are you using Brotli compression on the server?
I suggest a detailed analysis of HTTP Request and Response headers. There may be a discrepancy resulting in this unexpected behaviour. I would follow this up with scouring the Safari bug tracker.
The SSL certificate itself may be the issue, or rather Safari's interpretation of policies.
Hope it helps.

Hbbtv appdevelopment using Firefox Addon

I am interested to develop hbbtv apps and I am desperate to know how to run and test an full hbbtv application package, in this context a videoplayer having multiple html pages , using Firefox's plugin FireHBBTV. I have pretty much searched for it all over Net but couldn't find one!
You have to install an http server to serve a files, then it's opening from url address. If you are trying to open first time you can open http://itv.mit-xperts.com/hbbtvtest/ which is like demo page of hbbtv features (not all could work).

webcam permission request doesnt work with local files

When experimenting some things with WebRTC. I looked at some examples and downloaded one from github. This wasn't working at all. At the right side of the url, there was an icon that indicated that my webcam was blocked. I clicked on it and said that it could use my webcam. Then chrome said to reload the page so i did that. And everything was the same as in the beginning. But when I loaded the same site through jsfiddle, it asked me with a pop-up for webcam access (the same way as every other application does) and that worked without a flaw. I tested some other browsers and it was all the same. Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this problem? Thank you!
In order to use the web cam API, the file must be run from a server. When tyou run it from JSFiddle, it runs on a server, and thus works. It wont work if you run it as a file:/// in your browser, you must run a local web server on your computer and open the web app from there as http://
Running a server
Well running a webserver could be very complex, and requires knoweldege in using softwares like apache or ISS. Luckily enough, for develpers just seeking a simple, straight forward webserver for client side development, there are a couple of easy solutions:
Windows: use a software called WAMP - it automaticaly runs apache on your machiene and creates a folder on your computer in which you can put all the website content. http://www.wampserver.com/en/
Mac: simillar to WAMP, mac has a piece of software called XAMP that does pretty much the same thing. http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
Both are pretty simple, but I think will be enough for simple front end development.
Chrome blocked my webcam on a site where I denied access multiple times (because I was testing).
You might need to visit chrome://settings/contentExceptions#media-stream and clear your settings.

HTML5 website compatibility in Internet Explorer

I was going through a simple HTML5/CSS3 tutorial to build a basic website.I closely followed the tutorial to make myself understand the newly added tags use and developed what was taught online step-by-step.
However, the demo of the site I was creating worked fine on Internet-Explorer8 but when I completed my own development, though it worked fine in Chrome and Firefox but it didn't pick any design when I tried run it on Internet-Explorer8.
This however I understand is due to old versions of IE's not supporting newly added elements of HTML5 thus added a script HTML5shiv.js.
This should work fine however IE8 kept popping up the dialog box displaying that : It blocked some Active Content due to security reasons and if required, you can allow them to dosplay. This was never the case with the demo version of the website that I was making.
However, when I allowed the ActiveX controls in the IE8, everything worked fine.
The issue with me now is that if any of my website's user has disabled ActiveX-Controls in IE6,7 or 8, then my website would loose it''s designed structure. How can I get through it?
I assume you are loading html5shiv.js from a separate domain, if so try downloading it and hosting it with the rest of your website. This should solve your problem.
If you're developing your website locally (i.e. directly opened from a file on your computer), that can also cause this problem.
Update to users comment:
Hosting it should solve it. Instead of buying hosting though you could simply host on your localhost, to do that look into using something such as WAMP, or MAMP for Mac.
Alternatively, you can add <!-- saved from url=(0017)http://localhost/ --> to the top of your document which should disable the security policy. You can read more about that here.

Enable script run in web browser using java script codes

I designed a web page which contains some javascripts, but when I'm running the page in certain browsers like internet explorer my scripts get blocke and the browsers asks for manual enabling of the script in that browser
I need java script or jquery code for enabling script run in any browser automatically. Can anyone help me please?
Thank you
It is impossible for a website to turn on JavaScript if it is disabled in the browser.
Design your site with progressive enhancement and unobtrusive JavaScript in mind.
If, by "certain browsers like internet explorer", you mean "Internet Explorer will not run my code" (as opposed to "Browsers wil JS turned off will not run my code") then you may just need to learn how to write cross-browser compatible code.
Without a specific example of code that does not work (along with the specific error messages you receive), that topic is too broad to cover on StackOverflow.
Sounds like you are running the website locally, ie opening the file not serving it from a web server. Try running a local web server or hosting your site on a free online service and as long as the browser doesn't have JavaScript disabled the messages shouldn't show up.
