How to keep a hover effect by selecting a browser suggestion? - javascript

I have a WordPress + WooCommerce website and by hovering Login / Sign Up on the header it leads to open a dropdown box where you can enter login details or register. The kind of issue described below also occurs on official theme demo website, at https://xstore.8theme.com/
Now, if I click on "Username or email address" field, Google Chrome shows me an account suggestion based on previously saved accounts on this website. You could try by attempting to login with whatever credentials and if you save them on Chrome (even if wrong), the browser will suggest them to you from the next login attempt. If you just hover the suggestion, all the dropdown box disappears. I said, "just hover the suggestion", because actually you do not have time to click on it.
I suppose this is due to hover effect, in fact if you move the cursor out of the dropdown box, this last disappears, and so happens with the suggestion making it like it was out of the dropdown box.
You can watch a video of the issue at:

How could I solve that?
Thank you in advance,
Alberto

I've had this Problem many times with outdated versions of chrome.
Have you tried updating your browser?
Do you have the same issue in other browsers?
Running updated chrome, I have not experienced this issue on the Demo Page (https://xstore.8theme.com/)

Search icon on mobile site unresponsive and no longer toggles open

The search icon on my mobile website suddenly stopped working recently. It's supposed to toggle open a search bar; however, now when I click it, nothing happens.
When I long press via Chrome on mobile it displays "about:blank#blocked" and on Firefox on hover it displays javascript:void(0).
Not sure what caused it to stop working and it's a bit frustrating.
If anyone has any insights or ideas on how to solve it, that would be super helpful.
My website is www.gentlemanwithin.com
I see your issue:-
Your issue is when you are trying to access custom search form that unable to access because you added an extra search button which is not belongs to that. So you try toggle function to show yellow colored area of your code. After it your issue will solve. Below I have attached your site screenshot image, that you can see it for the reference.

Drop-down-menu not working on second page

I have to make a website for school and we have to make a drop-down-menu. I've made one and it works fine, but on my other pages the drop-down-menu won't open when I click on it.
Can somebody help me?
I'd recommend that you use the chrome developer tools to check and see what happens to the other pages when you click the button that's supposed to initiate the dropdown menu.
If nothing happens, right click the button and hit inspect in developer tools to verify that you're targeting the correct element, and to verify that the dropdown menu actually exists on all your pages.
Most likely you haven't linked the javascript file on the other pages. Can't say much without you showing what you've done first.

How can I prevent page jumping to bottom upon click after logging out?

This issue is only happening on Chrome. On the log in page, on the first mouse click anywhere on the page or keyboard key pressed the page jumps to the bottom. The first time you visit the login page and click and/or log in this does not happen. Only after you have logged in once before and log out will this occur and only in the Chrome browser.
EDIT: Chrome needs to save the login username. After log out if you click in the username input and select the username you logged in with before the page will jump to the bottom. Either this way or if you use the "save username and password" option for this site will the issue be reproduced.
After the first click it wont jump again unless you refresh the page and then click. This only happens on this one page and I cannot figure out why it is happening nor any solution to fix the issue. Chrome does autofill the username and password information in after the first log in which may or may not be the issue however other browsers do not display this jumping behavior regardless.
I have set up a temp account for anyone willing to help me and have a look. I would reproduce the issue here if possible but I do not know the cause or solution.
The page is https://winningsportsplays.com/britneydeluca/login
Login user name: tempuser
Temp Password: tempuser22
Will gladly rephrase and reproduce the issue here once I know what it is.
I was able to reproduce what you described and using the chrome debugger I pointed the source of it to recaptcha__en.js, which is loaded from google. Doing a Quick google search this seems like a common bug, specially in IOS.

Chrome auto-filling the username/password in my application

I have an application, within which a user creates login details for various sub-users.
When I navigate to any such form for creating a new user, Chrome by default fills the username and password for currently logged-in user in to the form.
I thought Chrome might be picking these fields based on their id or name (which were earlier id=username and id=password respectively). However, even after changing these id and name, Chrome fills the field in the form.
How and Why does Chrome do this. I have been through this
and few other links but could not fix this.
Any suggestions ?
This is because of browser history. try this and it will no longer be problem
Open the Chrome menu using the button on the far right of the browser
toolbar.
Choose the Settings menu option.
Click the Show advanced
settings… link located at the bottom of the page. In the “Passwords
and forms” section, click the Manage passwords link

For my website, is it possible to create a button where users can click on it to create an ICON on their iPhone desktop?

User clicks the button, and an icon is added to the iPhone desktop.
If possible, can I activate this button manually?
There is no way for you to do this, because otherwise every developer would do this by invoking it with an automated script and then everyone would just be annoyed. You will have to direct users to press the + sign and then Add to Home Screen.
I believe this is not possible. However a common approach is to detect whether running in an iPhone browser (not as an HTML app) and show a huge arrow pointing at the + sign.
You can take a look at this tool, which is a nice JavaScript snippet giving the user a hint on how to add your homepage as a Icon on your homescreen:
