If I click on another field with a tool tip, it requires a double click to show the tooltip. I am not sure what part of my code is incorrect. I have referred other Stackoverflow posts, none seem to solve the issue. I am on Bootstrap version 4+
I have placed the following code in (document).ready function
function call(){
console.log('calling tooltip method');
$('[data-toggle="tooltip"]').tooltip({placement:"right",trigger:"click",html: true});
}
function hide(){
$('body').on('hidden.bs.tooltip', function (e) {
$(e.target).data("bs.tooltip")._activeTrigger.click = false;
});
$('html').on('click', function(e) {
if (typeof $(e.target).data('original-title') == 'undefined') {
$('[data-original-title]').tooltip('hide');
}
});
$(document).on('show.bs.tooltip', function() {
$('.tooltip').not(this).hide();
});

In the official TinyMCE docs is nothing written about the possibility to manually open/close the sidebar:
https://www.tinymce.com/docs/advanced/creating-a-sidebar/#editorsidebarapi
Can anybody help me? I think it must be something like this:
editor.getSidebar('mysidebar').close();
I need it, because I want to close my custom sidebar in my file browser callback.
Use tinymce.activeEditor.execCommand('togglesidebar', false, 'sidebarname'); to toggle the sidebar. You could place event dispacthers and listeners to know if it is currently opened or closed:
tinymce.PluginManager.add('cheminfo', function (editor, url) {
editor.ui.registry.addSidebar('cheminfo', {
tooltip: 'My sidebar',
icon: 'comment',
onShow: function (api) {
var event = new CustomEvent('tinymce-chem-sidebar', {'detail': true});
window.parent.document.dispatchEvent(event);
},
onHide: function (api) {
var event = new CustomEvent('tinymce-chem-sidebar', {'detail': false});
window.parent.document.dispatchEvent(event);
}
});
});
Then (I am using React):
// detect sidebar state open/close
document.addEventListener('tinymce-chem-sidebar', function (e) {
setOpen(e.detail);
});
PS: Make sure the sidebar's name is lowercase or it won't work
adding to #Kristiyan Tsvetanov's solution, an alternative to using event listeners in determining open/close state of sidebar, the following code can be used:
function is_sidebar_open() {
//class names taken from using inspect on the
//sidebar area of the editor in a browser session
if ($(".tox-sidebar__slider").hasClass("tox-sidebar--sliding-closed")) {
return false;
}
else {
return true;
}
}
function open_sidebar(){
if (is_sidebar_open() == false){
tinymce.activeEditor.execCommand('togglesidebar', false, 'sidebarname');
}
}
function close_sidebar(){
if (is_sidebar_open() == true){
tinymce.activeEditor.execCommand('togglesidebar', false, 'sidebarname');
}
}
I need some help making a sub-menu appear within 2s after the page loads instead of when the user clicks on it. I'm using JQuery. That file is the core of the website. I need it to stay opened.
Here's the code I have at the moment, I tried to change that on.Click event but it didn't work.
The handleSidenarAndContentHeight(); function resizes the menu items after the sub-menu appears.
jQuery('.page-sidebar li > a').on('click', function (e) {
if ($(this).next().hasClass('sub-menu') === false) {
return;
}
var parent = $(this).parent().parent();
parent.children('li.open').children('a').children('.arrow').removeClass('open');
parent.children('li.open').children('a').children('.arrow').removeClass('active');
parent.children('li.open').children('.sub-menu').slideUp(350);
parent.children('li').removeClass('open');
parent.children('li').removeClass('active');
var sub = jQuery(this).next();
if (sub.is(":visible")) {
jQuery('.arrow', jQuery(this)).removeClass("open");
jQuery(this).parent().removeClass("active");
sub.slideUp(350, function () {
handleSidenarAndContentHeight();
});
} else {
jQuery('.arrow', jQuery(this)).addClass("open");
jQuery(this).parent().addClass("open");
sub.slideDown(350, function () {
handleSidenarAndContentHeight();
});
}
e.preventDefault();
});
Working with a 2 second timeout should do the trick!
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
// Open Parent here
setTimeout(function(){
// Open Child here
}, 2000)
});
There is a simple javascript function you can use, the setTimeout function.
The code follows like this :
setTimeout(function() {yourFunctyion();}. delayTimeInMiliseconds);
This will call your function after the number of second(in ms).
There is also a plugin I've used. It has oneTime and everyTime methods.

is it possible to create a twitter-button , while clicking a link? :
http://fiddle.jshell.net/gmq39/22/
I tried with:
$.getScript('http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js');
The "button", which appear´s has no functionlaity and style´s
Anybody know´s a workaround or what do i need to inlcude? need your help.. greetings!!
Use twttr.widgets.load(); to bind the twitter functionality to a dynamically added button.
Also, to make sure you don't load the script over and over again, you could first check if the script is already loaded with something like this
function twitter() {
if ($(".twitter-follow-button").length > 0) {
if (typeof (twttr) != 'undefined') {
twttr.widgets.load();
} else {
$.getScript('http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js');
}
}
}
$(function () {
$('body').html('Follow #MagnusEngdal')
twitter();
});

I have a small problem that should be very easy to overcome. For some reason I cant work this out. So the problem is I cannot get a button to link to some jquery. My set-up is as follows (showing the relevant code):
Default.aspx
jQuery:
function getContent() {
var data = {
numberID: 1
};
$.jsonAspNet("ContentService.asmx", "GetContent", data,
function (result) {
$('#content').html(result);
});
}
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
getContent();
});
HTML:
<div id="content"></div>
ContentService.vb
<WebMethod()> _
Public Function GetContent(number As Integer) As String
Dim sb = New StringBuilder
sb.AppendLine("<table>")
sb.AppendLine("<tr>")
sb.AppendLine("<td class='ui-widget-header ui-corner-all'>Number</td>")
sb.AppendLine("</tr>")
sb.AppendLine("<tr>")
sb.AppendLine("<td>" & number & "</td>")
sb.AppendLine("<td><a href='#' id='test' class='fg-button ui-state-default ui-corner-all'><img src='" & Context.Request.ApplicationPath & "/images/spacer.gif' class='ui-icon ui-icon-pencil' /></a></td>")
sb.AppendLine("</tr>")
sb.AppendLine("</table>")
Return sb.ToString
End Function
So that's the basics of what I have everything works but I'm not sure how to get the a button (id='test') to get linked to some jQuery. I want it to be pressed and bring up a popup.
I have tried to put the jQuery on default.aspx but this doesn't seem to work unless the button is place in the HTML on that page.
$('#test').unbind('click').click(function () {
alert('Working');
});
I'm sure this is easy to do, but I have been trying for a while and cannot seem to get it to work.
Is the problem that you're trying to bind to the element that ISN'T in existance yet?
are you calling the $('#test').unbind('click').click(function () {
alert('Working');
}); BEFORE the service has returned?
$('#test').on('click', function () {
alert('Working');
});
This will bind the event to the '#test' element once it has been inserted in to the DOM.
As you load the content via ajax, you have to bind to $('#content'). Like this:
$(function () {
$('#content').on('click', '#test', function () {
e.preventDefault(); // if a default action is not needed needed
alert('Working');
});
});
I guess this is about not preventing the default behaviour of the A href tag. Now it will probably link to '#' instead of firing the onclick event.
$('#test').on('click', function (e) {
alert('Working');
e.preventDefault();
});
You could try to wrap this in a document ready, or eventually use the .on binder from jQuery, since it's dynamic content.
Solved
It was a very small thing that caused this. The code to fix this problem is as follows:
$('#test').unbind('click').click(test);
This needed to go inside the function with the json so:
function getContent() {
var data = {
numberID: 1
};
$.jsonAspNet("ContentService.asmx", "GetContent", data,
function (result) {
$('#content').html(result);
$('#test').unbind('click').click(test);
});
}
Thank you to everyone that has tried to help me.
I'm not the best when it comes to JavaScript, and stuck with finding a solution. I have seen similar questions asked here, but when I try to implement it in my case it either breaks the menu or just makes no difference.
I'm trying to get a menu (which opens on a click), to close not only with a repeated click on parent menu tab, but with a click outside the menu, i.e., anywhere.
My code is:
var toggleUpdatesPulldown = function(event, element, user_id) {
if( element.className=='updates_pulldown' ) {
element.className= 'updates_pulldown_active';
showNotifications();
} else {
element.className='updates_pulldown';
}
}
This snippet is in the middle of a lot more JavaScript and this is the default working version. The click from user changes the class name of the menu container which determines if it's displayed or not. From another post on here, I tried implementing the following to no avail to try and allow the click off to alter the class name as well:
var toggleUpdatesPulldown = function(event, element, user_id) {
if( element.className=='updates_pulldown' ) {
element.className= 'updates_pulldown_active';
showNotifications();
} else {
element.className='updates_pulldown';
}
ev.stopPropagation();
$(document).one('click', function() {
element.className='updates_pulldown';
});
}
Any advice on tackling this? I'd like to learn more JavaScript as I seem to be working with it more and more.
I hope you are still looking for a solution. Here's a working demo of this http://jsfiddle.net/sU9ZJ/6/
(function(win, doc) {
var lis = $('#menu>ul>li>a').on('click', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
var a = $(this);
var li = $(this).parent();
function close(dev) {
if (!(dev && li.has(dev.target)[0])) {
li.addClass('inactive').removeClass('active');
doc.off('click', close);
a.trigger('close');
}
}
function open(dev) {
li.addClass('active');
doc.on('click', close);
a.trigger('open');
}
if (li.hasClass('active')) { close() }
else { open(); }
})
})(this, $(document))
I have also added a couple of events that you can use when it opens or closes
$('#menu>ul>li>a').on('open', function(e) {
console.log('menu open', this)
}).on('close', function(e) {
console.log('menu closed', this)
})
Sorry, this depends on jQuery. too lazy to write a native version :). Also this is not tested in IE, but shouldn't be too hard to make it work on those if it doesn't.
