You are declaring your array of targets locally in setup() so when you try to access it in draw() it does not exist. Declare it globally above setup() and that should fix it:

My code is not drawing bars to the screen from an array

I am trying to make one of those sorting algorithms and want to have the bars get randomly generated with height and x position. However, when I run the code, it doesn't draw any bars. I'm also not getting any errors sent so I have no idea what's going wrong.

The logic in generateBars seems convoluted and the intention is unclear.
As far as I see Bar's x property acts more of a value property storing the number to be sorted later because it is multiplied by size in draw(). (e.g. x is not the final x position the bar should be rendered at, as it's name implies).
I would simply intanstiate Bar like so:

(I've added a hacky mouseClicked() handler so it's easy to regenerate the bars for testing/debugging purposes. You may not need it in your final code)
Update Based on your comment, it's the bar height that is tightly coupled to the value to be sorted later.
One idea is to simply pre-generate the list of numbers to sort and shuffle() them first:

How to have the random function run once in the draw function?

I want to randomise each y2 line coordinate in the for loop. But then have the y2 line coordinate to increment by 1. To create a rain effect.
I can't put the random variable in setup and then call it in the for loop because it won't affect each line in the for loop and I can't put the for loop in setup because I need the line to be drawn.
I've also tried creating a function that loops once and then calling it in draw but it ends up stopping all the code in the draw function.
I've seen examples where they generate like an infinite amount of random lines. But I would like to keep the x position of each line the same if possible. If it's not possible to do this with a for loop and I have to draw each line individually that's fine I was just wondering if this is possible to efficiently do this with a for loop.
I think what you are looking for is individual variables for each line.
Probably a classic:

situation. (those were made in Java's processing, but the concept can be easily adapted)

I have been working on an internship. The application I need to make needs to have different colors in the intersecting areas. I made a global variable of color. I am changing its values in the buttons I have created. But whenever I press the button it changes color of each intersecting area even though I have pushed it in array with its own color. I went through your code and spotted this snippet

It's within the loop that you are calling on every single cycle. When ever you select a button, it sets the new value for 'myColour', and within the next loop it will color all overlapping elements. You don't really tell in detail what's your goal. But some how you will need to add another color variable and identify which button intersection you want to color which way...
I think it would be better to solve this in a different way. Looping over all elements will make your program lag.

Game slows down after a while, potential data leak?

I'm making a javascript game using p5 and p5.play and for some reason after the simulation runs for more than 20 seconds the entire thing really slows down. I think it may be a data leak but am unsure of what is truly harming performance.
Update: After some poking around I found that I was successfully removing the sprites from the plain group however there is some other Object called allSprites that is collecting the sprites no matter what. How I remove said sprites from this object is still unknown.
Update: Came up with way to remove them from object, still did not fix data leak.

Objects in P5 do not collide when using collide() function

I'm working on getting all the components for my final together using the P5.play engine and while I have made some progress with setting up aspects of my mini game I'm having a hard time with the collision. It should be easy but for whatever reason when I set up my two objects (the fish and the garbage) they do not collide. I am trying to set it up so that when the garbage collides with the fish the fish either get removed or are reset to a place where they can continue to move on the screen while tallying the score. I managed to get the player sprite to collect the garbage and add to the score using overlapPoint and placing the condition in the update for the garbage object. But when I attempt the same technique for the fish on the garbage object an error occurs and everything disappears on the screen. I commented out the portion that is I have tried multiple ways including the collide() function on the objects with the proper conditionals but nothing seems to work. A bit frustrating. I have tried various other ways. So I'm asking for expert advice. Any assistance is appreciated. this is the code that i have thus far:

I actually found the answer to my question a while back but am going to post it here.
The initial problem was that the sprites would not collide but with a simple for loop nested within another for loop and adding a .sprite to each of the objects being checked, I was able to get all the elements to collide properly.
