I'm trying to add 2 menu using slickNav. I've successfully created one but if I try to add another, I can't style it separately, I tried using prependTo, but when I stick it like #menu .slicknav_menu{} it just hide my nav.
Can't seem to find another solution to this. Please help me out.
here is my default code when I successfully created my nav:
.slicknav_menu{
display: none;
}
#media screen and (max-width: 992px){
header {
background-color: #fff;
}
#menu {
display: none;
}
.slicknav_menu {
display: inline-block;
position: absolute;
background: rgba(0,0,0,0);
z-index: 1000;
right: 0px;
font-weight: bold;
}
.slicknav_btn{
background-color: #c9251c;
margin: 35px 30px 0 0;
}
.slicknav_nav{
background: #c9251c;
width: 200px;
}
.slicknav_nav li {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
height: 3em;
line-height: 3em;
width: 200px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #ba1e16;
border-top: 1px solid #d11e14;
text-align: center;
}
.slicknav_nav li a {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}
.slicknav_nav li a:hover {
color: #000;
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0);
}
}

In this jsfiddle you can see that the icon does not appear when the screen is small: https://jsfiddle.net/quehf3x9/
Firstly make sure that you're loading the Font Awesome library. That wasn't being loaded in the JS Fiddle example. So I included a link to a CDN.
Secondly, add a width, height and background color to the CSS for the navbars:
.mainNav .navBars {
width: 30px;
height: 30px;
color: #111;
}
See my updated JS Fiddle for a working example.
You have two problems with your fiddle above. The first is that you did not include the font awesome library. The code does not know what to do with the fa fa-bars classes. To include an external library in jsfiddle:
Find a CDN where the file is hosted
Copy the path to the file
Paste it in the left sidebar in the External Resources section.
Select the + icon to add the resource to the fiddle.
Once the file is loaded, you can see from the developer tools (open the tools by selecting F12) that the class is applied but the icon color is white. You'll want to add some CSS to color the icon such as:
label i {
color: #333;
}
I've made these two changes and updated your fiddle here.
There are two things-
First one you are missing to include Font Awesome library
Secondly the color of icon is white. So you won't be able to see it even if you include the library, changing the color will do the trick <i class="fa fa-bars" style="color:black;"></i>

On an iOS device, when I click in the input QTY value on the fixed buy element at bottom, it shifts the whole page to the bottom.

Update
I found a partial solution here:
https://www.igorkromin.net/index.php/2016/05/20/mobile-safari-scrolling-problem-with-an-input-field-inside-a-fixed-div/
CSS:
html,body{
-webkit-overflow-scrolling : touch !important;
overflow: auto !important;
height: 100% !important;
}
This fixed the issue but created another issue: when I click the tabs it scrolls to the top.
Update 2
This is my JS which seems to be conflicting - maybe as it's using body, html. Is there a way to sort it since the input fix I added? It just seems to jump to the top of the tab on changing the tabs.
JS:
function scrollToTab(x) {
$("html, body").animate({
scrollTop: $(x).offset().top - 10
}, scrollSpeed);
}
I'm trying to style the dot navigation for Fullpage.JS however I'm having some trouble.
Here's a fiddle of my code and what i currently have:
https://jsfiddle.net/my9tqcho/
I'm trying to add the "fill up" effect, as seen HERE.
Here's the source code for the effect:
.dotstyle ul {
position: relative;
display: inline-block;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style: none;
cursor: default;
}
.dotstyle li {
position: relative;
display: block;
float: left;
margin: 0 16px;
width: 16px;
height: 16px;
cursor: pointer;
}
.dotstyle li a {
top: 0;
left: 0;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
outline: none;
border-radius: 50%;
background-color: #fff;
background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.3);
text-indent: -999em;
cursor: pointer; /* make the text accessible to screen readers */
position: absolute;
}
/* Fill up */
.dotstyle-fillup li a {
overflow: hidden;
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0);
box-shadow: inset 0 0 0 2px rgba(255,255,255,1);
transition: background 0.3s;
}
.dotstyle-fillup li a::after {
content: '';
position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
height: 0;
left: 0;
width: 100%;
background-color: #fff;
box-shadow: 0 0 1px #fff;
transition: height 0.3s;
}
.dotstyle-fillup li a:hover,
.dotstyle-fillup li a:focus {
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.2);
}
.dotstyle-fillup li.current a::after {
height: 100%;
}
So far I found THIS answer from the creator of fullpage.js, but I seem to miss something and I can't figure out what it is.
I made a fork of your jsfiddle and got it to work here https://jsfiddle.net/6z67g7v6/
What you want to do is to set overflow: hidden and box-shadow: inset 0 0 0 2px white so that it allows for such 'filled' effect.
The pseudo element styling is like the source code.
Cheers.

I run on some CSS issues and I'm stuck. Here's my issues.
To sum it up:
To add paddings to links without icons, wrap all text inside items into <span> (only those that have no <span> yet) and add padding-left to spans that have no icon before them:
nav li span:first-child {
padding-left: 24px;
}
Display borders only for items that are last in the group:
nav li:not(:last-child) {
border-bottom: 1px solid #aaa;
}
The scrollbar appears because you have min-width rule specified. Do not do it. It will mess up small screens because it will never collapse. Also remove padding-right: 65px; and padding-right: 280px; - they are bogus.
Here's the final fiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/pjb7jzjk/36/
P. S. I suggest you to add overflow-y: scroll rule to .sidebar-nav to make it scrollable on screens with small height.
Ad.1 - try to add
#nav li > ul > li {
padding-left: 3em;
}
Currently I have a hamburger menu button: https://jsfiddle.net/sqvwm1dh/
When this is clicked, I'd like to replace it with a graphic.
How do I achieve this with my current code, do I do this in jQuery?
$('header').prepend('<div id="menu-button"></div>');
$('#menu-button').on('click', function(){
var menuItems = $(".menu-primary-menu-container");
menuItems.toggle();
});
header {
background:red;
height:100px;
}
#menu-button {
position: relative;
z-index: 10000;
display: block;
top: 30px;
right:0;
position: fixed;
-webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
box-sizing: border-box;
width: 100%;
padding: 15px 0px 22px 20px;
text-transform: uppercase;
font-weight: 700;
font-size: 14px;
letter-spacing: 1px;
color: #ffffff;
cursor: pointer;
}
/* line 500, sass/_layout.scss */
#menu-button:after {
display: block;
content: '';
position: absolute;
height: 3px;
width: 22px;
border-top: 2px solid #ffffff;
border-bottom: 2px solid #ffffff;
right: 20px;
top: 16px;
}
/* line 511, sass/_layout.scss */
#menu-button:before {
display: block;
content: '';
position: absolute;
height: 3px;
width: 22px;
border-top: 2px solid #ffffff;
right: 20px;
top: 26px;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<header>
<div class="menu-primary-menu-container">
test
</div>
</header>
Method 1(jQuery)
jQuery Methods Used - hide(); and show();
Do something like this-
Write the CSS and HTML of the graphic you want to replace with. Also set display:none; to the CSS of the graphic.
When the button is clicked hide the button and show the graphic.
eg-
`
$("#menu-button").click(function(){
$(this).hide();
$("#graphic").show();};);
Method 2 (CSS pseudo classes)
The above code is perfectly fine but, it would be an obtrusive code (code that affects functionality of the website if javascript is disabled or script is unable to load).
There are many times when we can't avoid javascript but , here we can so why not give it a shot?
for reference- CSS pseudo class - active
#graphic{ display:none; // add other required css for graphic such as property, height,etc}
#menu-button:active {
#graphic{ display:block;
}
#menu-button{display:none;
}
}
I think this is a nice and simple solution
$('header').prepend('<div id="menu-button"></div>');
$('#menu-button').on('click', function(){
var menuItems = $(".menu-primary-menu-container");
var menubutton = $(this);
if(menubutton.hasClass('active'))
menubutton.removeClass('active');
else
menubutton.addClass('active');
menuItems.toggle();
});
header {
background:red;
height:100px;
}
#menu-button {
position: relative;
z-index: 10000;
display: block;
top: 30px;
right:0;
position: fixed;
-webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
box-sizing: border-box;
width: 100%;
padding: 15px 0px 22px 20px;
text-transform: uppercase;
font-weight: 700;
font-size: 14px;
letter-spacing: 1px;
color: #ffffff;
cursor: pointer;
}
#menu-button.active {
/* add your graph here */
}
/* line 500, sass/_layout.scss */
#menu-button:after {
display: block;
content: '';
position: absolute;
height: 3px;
width: 22px;
border-top: 2px solid #ffffff;
border-bottom: 2px solid #ffffff;
right: 20px;
top: 16px;
}
/* line 511, sass/_layout.scss */
#menu-button:before {
display: block;
content: '';
position: absolute;
height: 3px;
width: 22px;
border-top: 2px solid #ffffff;
right: 20px;
top: 26px;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js"></script>

<div class="menu-primary-menu-container">
