jQuery Duplicate Table row and assign new id to duplicate table row - javascript

I have created a table with multiple columns and written a jquery javascript that duplicates or clones the the last row of the table. However when it clones the last row it also gives each column the same name and id as the previous row.
jsp code:
<div id="invTruck" class="invTruck">
<table id="tbl_invTruck" width="100%" border="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td width="15%" style="display:none;"><center>Work Order Id</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Truck Type</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Licences Plate #</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Driver ID</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Max Haulage Weight</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Job Number</center></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td style="display:none;"><input name="wInv_work_Id" type="text"></td>
<td><select id="invTru_Type" name="invTru_Type" onchange="getTruckPlates(this.value)">
<option disabled selected hidden value="">Select A Truck Type</option>
<%while(rsinvTru1.next()){%>
<option><%=rsinvTru1.getString(1)%></option>
<%}%>
</select>
</td>
<td><select id="invTru_LicensePlateNo" name="invTru_LicensePlateNo" required>
<option disabled selected hidden value="">Select A Truck</option>
</select></td>
<td><input name="driver_emp_Id" type="text"></td>
<td><input name="invTru_MaxHw" type="text"></td>
<td><input name="" type="text"></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<table width="100%" height="50%" border="0">
<tr>
<td width="50%"><input class="buttonCreateInv" id="btn_AddTruck" type="button" value="Add A Truck"></td>
<td width="50%"><input class="buttonCreateInv" name="btn_RemoveTruck" type="button" value="Remove A Truck"></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
JQuery Javascript:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#btn_AddTruck").click(function(){
var $tableBody = $('#tbl_invTruck').find("tbody"),
$trLast = $tableBody.find("tr:last"),
$trNew = $trLast.clone();
$trLast.after($trNew);
});
});
The expected output i would like is for the duplicated table row
where id in id1 is the orignal tables td id and 1 is appended to it.
and that if i was to add another row to the table
where id in id2 is the orignal tables td id and 2 is appended to it.

Try next one:
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#btn_AddTruck").click(function () {
var $tableBody = $('#tbl_invTruck').find("tbody"),
$trLast = $tableBody.find("tr:last"),
$trNew = $trLast.clone();
// Find by attribute 'id'
$trNew.find('[id]').each(function () {
var num = this.id.replace(/\D/g, '');
if (!num) {
num = 0;
}
// Remove numbers by first regexp
this.id = this.id.replace(/\d/g, '')
// increment number
+ (1 + parseInt(num, 10));
});
$trLast.after($trNew);
});
});
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<div id="invTruck" class="invTruck">
<table id="tbl_invTruck" width="100%" border="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td width="15%" style="display:none;"><center>Work Order Id</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Truck Type</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Licences Plate #</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Driver ID</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Max Haulage Weight</center></td>
<td width="17%"><center>Job Number</center></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td style="display:none;"><input name="wInv_work_Id" type="text"></td>
<td><select id="invTru_Type" name="invTru_Type" onchange="getTruckPlates(this.value)">
<option disabled selected hidden value="">Select A Truck Type</option>
<!-- %while(rsinvTru1.next()){%>
<option><%=rsinvTru1.getString(1)%></option>
<%}% -->
</select>
</td>
<td><select id="invTru_LicensePlateNo" name="invTru_LicensePlateNo" required>
<option disabled selected hidden value="">Select A Truck</option>
</select></td>
<td><input name="driver_emp_Id" type="text"></td>
<td><input name="invTru_MaxHw" type="text"></td>
<td><input name="" type="text"></td>

</tbody>
</table>
<table width="100%" height="50%" border="0">

Select the first html table row on page load using JS or JQUERY

Can someone help to select the the first row of my html table on page load using jquery or javascript.
after the page loads, it should select/highlight the first row and put all of the data from the selected row to the input boxes.
Here is my HTML CODE
HTML
<table id="tblCases">
<thead>
<tr>
<th>CASE KEY</th>
<th>DEPARTMENT CASE</th>
<th>DEPARTMENT</th>
<th style="display: none;">DEPT CODE</th>
<th style="display: none;">CHARGE</th>
<th>OFFENSE CODE</th>
<th>LAB CASE</th>
<th>INCIDENT REPORT DATE</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
</tbody>
</table>
<p>
<b>Case Details</b>
</p>
<table>
<tr>
<td>
Department Case
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="Department Case #" id="txtDepartmentCase" value="" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
Department
</td>
<td>
<select id="drpDepartment">
</select>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
Charge
</td>
<td>
<select id="drpCharge">
</select>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
Lab Case
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="Lab Case" id="txtLabCase" value="" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
Incident Report Date
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="Incident Report Date" id="txtIncidentReportDate" value="" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="Case key" id="txtCaseKey" value="" />
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br />
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="button" value="Edit" id="btnEdit" onclick="" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="button" value="Save" id="btnSave" onclick="SaveData(); this.form.reset();" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="button" value="Cancel" id="btnCancel" onclick="" />
</td>
</tr>
</table>
Here is my JS CODE, Here I include the onclick selection on the html table and also I include the function for populating the input boxes with the data from the selected row.
Javascript/jquery
$(function () {
///<summary> Highlights the row when selected</summary>
///<param name="editing" type="text">Editing state</param>
///<returns type="text"></returns>
$('#tblCases tr').click(function () {
if (isEditing) {
return;
}
$('#tblCases tr').removeClass('selectedRow');
$(this).addClass('selectedRow');
});
});
var table = document.getElementById("tblCases");
var rIndex;
for (var i = 1; i < table.rows.length; i++) {
///<summary>Display selected row data in text input.</summary>
///<param name="editing" type="text">Editing state</param>
/// <returns type="text"></returns>
table.rows[i].onclick = function () {
if (isEditing) {
return;
}
rIndex = this.rowIndex;
console.log(rIndex);
document.getElementById("txtCaseKey").value = this.cells[0].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("txtDepartmentCase").value = this.cells[1].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("drpDepartment").value = this.cells[3].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("drpCharge").value = this.cells[5].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("txtLabCase").value = this.cells[6].innerHTML;
document.getElementById("txtIncidentReportDate").value = this.cells[7].innerHTML;
};
}
function setEditingState(editing) {
///<summary>Defines the editing state which inlcude the behavior of buttons, input fields and row selection if a certain button was clicked</summary>
///<param name="editing" type="button; text">Editing state</param>
isEditing = editing;
// Disable or enable fields.
$('#txtDepartmentCase').attr('disabled', !editing);
$('#drpDepartment').attr('disabled', !editing);
$('#drpCharge').attr('disabled', !editing);
$('#txtLabCase').attr('disabled', !editing);
$('#txtIncidentReportDate').attr('disabled', !editing);
// Disable or enable buttons.
$('#btnEdit').attr('disabled', editing);
$('#btnSave').attr('disabled', !editing);
$('#btnCancel').attr('disabled', !editing);
}
Here's something to get you started:
var first_name = $('#source_table').find('tbody tr:first td:first').text();
var last_name = $('#source_table').find('tbody tr:first td:nth-child(2)').text();
var age = $('#source_table').find('tbody tr:first td:nth-child(3)').text();
$('#first_name').val(first_name);
$('#last_name').val(last_name);
$('#age').val(age);
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

I have 3 problems with this javascript.
User cant add more item if already limit.

what I want build is like this : Example 2 item
|Total Item | Name Item | Delete |
| 1 | ABC | DELETE(BUTTON) |
| 2 | CDE | DELETE(BUTTON) |
This is html code, example max item is 6

Add values to correct father section of table

I have a dialog pop up with drop down selects, an input box and a save button. This save button updates the parent table with the user drop down/input values, but at at end of the table. I need these values to go under the chosen father part of the table. My drop down for the father has independent IDs, I'm just not sure how to implement it. I've tried to strip my code to work in jsfiddle, but the demo won't add values to the table. Here's my code for the dialog pop up:
<script>
$("#save").click(function () {
for(var j=0;j<document.getElementsByName("select1").length;j++) {
updateParent1(document.getElementsByName("select1").item(j).value + ' ' +
document.getElementsByName("text1").item(j).value + ' - ' +
document.getElementsByName("select2").item(j).value,
document.getElementsByName("chooseFather").item(j).value);
}
});
</script>
<form method="post" name="shoreInfo">
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<select name="select1" value="1">
<option selected value="undefined">Select...</option>
<option value="Value 1 (option1)">Value 1 (option1)</option>
<option value="Value 1 (option2)">Value 1 (option2)</option>
</select>
</td>
<td>
<select name="chooseFather" value="4">
<option selected value="undefined">Select...</option>
<option id="father3">Choose to add this information under father3 row.</option>
<option id="father4">Choose to add this information under father4 row.</option>
</select>
</td>
<td>
<select name="select2" value="3">
<option selected value="undefined">Select...</option>
<option value="Value 2 (option1)">Value 2 (option1)</option>
<option value="Value 2 (option2)">Value 2 (option2)</option>
</select>
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="text1" value="2" class="text94 apni"/>
</td>
<td><input type="button" value="Add values to table" id="save" />
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</form>
And here's the code for the parent page:
<script>
function updateParent1(value1) {
var table = document.getElementById("shore_tab");
var rowCount = table.rows.length;
//alert(rowCount);
var row = table.insertRow(rowCount);
var cell1 = row.insertCell(0);
cell1.innerHTML = "";
var cell2 = row.insertCell(1);
cell2.innerHTML = value1;
var cell3 = row.insertCell(2);
var element1 = document.createElement("input");
element1.type = "checkbox";
cell3.innerHTML = "<img title='remove' src='images/delete-row-icon1.png' class='sub_icon remove'/> ";
cell3.appendChild(element1);
}
</script>
<table id="shore_tab" border="1">
<tr class="row_blue_bold father" id="father3">

<td class="cell_50"> </td>

How to get the dynamically cloned table textbox value?

All,
I have table which I am cloning on clicking on button and after cloning table I need to do few calculation in the cloned table as well as in parent table. My problem is that I am not able to do calculation on each appended(clone) table. I mean I wrote a on blur function to do calculation with textbox value but when I am cloning table since class name is same for all textbox, in parent and cloned table my result showing in all textbox instead of corresponding part of the table. Here is my table and my jquery code which I am following.
<html>
<body>
<table>
<tbody>
<tr><td>
<table width="95%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5" style="margin-left:10px;" id="product">
<thead><tr>
<td class="mandatory"> * Product Name </td>
<td class="label"> Qty.in Stock</td>
<td class="mandatory">* Qty </td>
<td class="mandatory">* Unit Price</td>
<td class="mandatory">* List Price</td>
<td class="mandatory">* Total</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody class="product_details" id="tbody_product">
<tr class="tr_product_details">
<td>
<input type="text" name="txtproductName[]" id="product-name" />
<a href="">
<img width="17" height="16" src="images/Products_small.gif"> </a>
<input type="hidden" name="productid[]" id="productid" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="txtqtyStock[]" id="productstock" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="txtQty" id="product-quatity" class="product-qty" value="3" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="txtUnitPrice[]" id="product-price" />
</td>
<td>
<input type="text" name="txtListPrice[]" id="product-list-price" class="product-list-price"
/>
</td>
<td><div style="margin-left:120px;">
<input type="text" name="txtTotal[]" size="10" class="total-price" />
</div>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="5"> <img width="17" height="16" src="images/spacer.gif">Product Description </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="5"><textarea style="width:65%" maxlength="250" rows="3" cols="30" name="txtProductDescription[]" id="textarea-product-description"></textarea>
</td>
<td colspan="1" class="tbl">
<table >
<tr>
<td>Discount: </td>
<td> <input type="text" name="txtProductDiscount[]" size="10" class="product-discount" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="label">Total After Discount: </td>
<td> <input type="text" name="txtAfterDiscount[]" size="10" class="total-after-discount" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> Tax: </td>
<td><input type="text" name="txtProductTax[]" size="10" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="label"> Net Total: </td>
<td><input type="text" name="txtNetTotal[]" size="10" class="net-total" /> </td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<table align="left" style="margin-left:20px;">
<tr>
<td><input type="button" id="btnaddProduct" value="Add Product" class="button"/> </td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>
And my script which I am using :
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
var parent_qty_id = $("#product tbody:first").attr('id');
var qty_attr = parent_qty_id+" tr:first .product-qty";
$("#"+qty_attr+" .product-qty").bind("blur change",function(){
var product_qty = $(this).val(), product_list_price = $('#product tr td .product-list-price').val(),total;
total = product_qty * product_list_price;
// alert( $(this).children().children().attr("class"));
// $(this).children().children().attr("class");
var val = $(this).children();
$(val).val(total+'.00');
});
$("#btnaddProduct").click(function() {
var count = ($("tbody .product_details").length) + 1;
var tblid = $("#product tbody:first").attr('id');
var newid = tblid+"_"+count;
$('#product tbody:first').clone(true).insertAfter('#product > tbody:last').attr("id",newid);
$('table#product > tbody:last > tr:first input').val(' ');
$('table#product > tbody:last > tr:last input').val(' ');
$(":text.product-qty").last().val();
return false;
});
});
</script>
$("#"+qty_attr+" .product-qty")
Comes out empty (no element selected) because you already added .product-qty in parent_qty_id to qty_attr.
$("#"+qty_attr)
Works.
There were alot of other errors in your code which made the blur/change routine run twice etc. I've sanitized it some into this:
$(document).ready(function () {
var parent_qty_id = $("#product tbody:first").attr('id');
var qty_attr = parent_qty_id+" tr:first .product-qty";
$("#"+qty_attr).blur(function(){
var product_qty = $(this).val(), product_list_price = $('#product tr td .product-list-price').val(),total;
total = product_qty * product_list_price;
var val = $(this).children();
$(val).val(total+'.00');
});
$("#btnaddProduct").click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
var count = ($("tbody .product_details").length) + 1;
var tblid = $("#product tbody:first").attr('id');
var newid = tblid+"_"+count;
$('#product tbody:first').clone(true).insertAfter('#product > tbody:last').attr("id",newid);
$('table#product > tbody:last > tr:first input').val(' ');
$('table#product > tbody:last > tr:last input').val(' ');
$(":text.product-qty").last().val();
});
});
Further tweaking is probably needed.
