I want to get variable rating_idex in my php file so if is user click button #add-review it should pass in ajax variable and it will get array in php file and send review to the database, but it is not working and I don't see solution
$('#add-review').click(function(){
var user_name = $('#reviewer-name').val();
var user_review = $('#review').val();
console.log(user_name);
console.log(rating_index);
console.log(user_review);
if(user_name == '' || user_review == '')
{
alert("Please Fill Both Field");
return false;
}
else
{
$.ajax({
url:"rating-data.php",
method:"GET",
data:{
rating_index: rating_index,
user_name: user_name,
user_review: user_review
},
success:function(data)
{
$('#review_modal').modal('hide');
load_rating_data();
console.log(data);
}
})
}
});
This is my php code when I can get the variable and send them to the database:
<?php
include 'connection.php';
echo ($rating_index);
if(isset($_GET["rating_index"]))
{
$data = array(
':user_name' => $_GET["user_name"],
':user_rating' => $_GET["rating_index"],
':user_review' => $_GET["user_review"],
':datetime' => time()
);
$query = "
INSERT INTO review_table
(user_name, user_rating, user_review, datetime)
VALUES (:user_name, :user_rating, :user_review, :datetime)
";
$query_run = mysqli_query($conn, $query);
if($query_run){
echo "Your Review & Rating Successfully Submitted";
} else{
echo '<script type="text/javascript"> alert("Something went wrong") </script>';
echo mysqli_error($conn);
}
}
?>
When I am trying to echo ($rating_index) it give me feedback that variable does not exist so it is something with ajax but can't find solution, thanks in advance for any solutions
Instead of echo ($rating_index); try echo ($_GET["rating_index"]); reason being you didn't actually declared $rating_index
if I'm not wrong you want to pass the PHP variable in javascript?
if yes you cant pass the PHP variable in js like this.
var x = " < ? php echo"$name" ? >";
you can pass your PHP variable like this but in only the .php file not in the .js
From the selected value (from the form) I create a variable (var parcela).
var parcela;
$(document).ready(function(){
parcela = localStorage.getItem("parcela");
if (parcela !== '') {
$('#parcela').val(parcela);
}
$("#parcela").on('change',function() {
selectBoxVal_1 = $('#parcela').val();
if (typeof(Storage) !== "undefined") {
localStorage.setItem("parcela", selectBoxVal_1);
} else {
alert('Sorry! No Web Storage support..');
}
location.reload();
});
});
From the created variable (parcela), I create a session variable in PHP.
$.post("phpscripts/session.php", {"parc_id": parcela});
PHP (session.php)
<?php
session_start();
$parcela = $_POST["parc_id"];
$parcela_int = (int)$parcela;
if($_POST){
$_SESSION['parcela_id'] = $parcela_int;
}
?>
After that, the created session variable urge to another php script
query.php
<?php
session_start();
require("common.php");
$user_id = htmlentities($_SESSION['user']['id_korisnika']);
$parc = $_SESSION['parcela_id'];
try
{
$stmt = $db->prepare("SELECT y_cent, x_cent FROM parcele WHERE id_korisnika='$user_id' AND id_parcele='$parc' ");
$stmt->execute();
}
catch(PDOException $ex)
{
die("Failed to run query: " . $ex->getMessage());
}
$rows = $stmt->fetchAll();
....
This all works perfectly!
However, when I call a php script with query (query.php) in javascript, there is a problem. JS takes the previous session variable instead of the last selected.
$.ajax({
url: 'phpscripts/query.php',
type: 'GET',
success : function(data) {
chartData = data;
//console.log(chartData);
...
Does anyone know what the problem is? I'm trying for two days to solve this ...
Note: The javascript code is contained in a single script.
I solved the problem. I had to extract part of javascript code that calls the php script into a separate script. I called the new JS script with jQuery getScript() Method.
Thank you #knets.
I searched up some questions on stackoverflow and used the suggested solutions, however, I can't seem to get my php code working the way I'd like.
When I visit projects.php?message=success or projects.php?message=removed, the JavaScript function does not execute. In my debugging, I've confirmed the JavaScript is working correctly by attaching it to a button with the onclick property.
My php code:
<?php
function GET($key) {
return isset($_GET[$key]) ? $_GET[$key] : null;
}
$alert= GET('message');
if ($alert == success) {
echo '<script type="text/javascript"> window.onload=success(); </script>';
} elseif ($alert == removed) {
echo '<script type="text/javascript"> window.onload=removed(); </script>';
}
?>
My JavaScript code:
<script>
function success() {
$.notify({
// options
icon: "pe-7s-cloud-upload",
message: 'New project entry was successfully added.'
},{
// settings
type: 'success'
});
}
function removed() {
$.notify({
// options
icon: "pe-7s-trash",
message: 'Project entry was successfully deleted.'
},{
// settings
type: 'danger'
});
}
</script>
You need quotes around the texts and properly set window.onload:
<?php
function GET($key) {
return isset($_GET[$key]) ? $_GET[$key] : null;
}
$alert = GET('message');
echo "<script>window.onload = function () { ";
if ($alert == "success") echo "success();";
else if ($alert == "removed") echo "remove();";
echo " };</script>";
?>
If those two are all you need, you can also do this:
$alert = GET('message');
if ($alert == "success" || $alert == "remove") {
echo "<script>window.onload = $alert;</script>";
}
Edit:
To clarify an issue from the comments: to set window.onload to a function, one cannot use
window.onload = myFunc(); // WRONG!
(This will call the function, then set window.onload to the result)
The correct way is:
window.onload = myFunc;
// OR
window.onload = function () {
myFunc();
};
I've tested is the inexistent constant you're using called success.
As #Chris G said
Change the if for :
if ($alert == "success")
I need to get a value inside a div content. After a button click and doing stuff on the server side, my PHP function does:
echo "0";
or
echo "1";
depending on what my function does. So let's say if it's 0, the AJAX response will be $("div#divResult").html(data); where I put the 0 in the div divResult.
What I am trying to do now is I want to execute a js function to read whether it's 0 or 1 in divResult.
This is how I execute it:
<div id="divResult"><script>getDivResult();</script></div>
And my js function:
function getDivResult()
{
var result = $("div#divResult").text();
if(result === "0")
{
alert("Badge Number already exists, please check again.");
}
else if(result === "1")
{
alert("Your details have been entered!")
ADD_USER_POPUP.close;
}
}
Somehow the getDivResult function is not executing. The 0 and 1 does display on in the div though. Any help on this? I've tried .html too by the way.
EDIT:
Here's the AJAX that I use for the button click and return the response from PHP which is either 1 or 0:
$.post(page, {
name : name,
badge_number : badge_number,
category : category,
priviledge : priviledge,
action : "insert"
}, function(data) {
$("div#divResult").html(data);
});
2nd EDIT:
function insertRow($name, $badge_number, $priviledge, $category)
{
$table_info = "TBL_USER_LOGIN";
$query_string = "select badge_number from $table_info where badge_number = $badge_number";
$result = #mysql_query($query_string) or die (mysql_error());
$checkBadge = mysql_num_rows($result);
if($checkBadge>0)
{
//echo "Badge Number $badge_number already exists. Please check again.";
echo "0";
}
else
{
$query_string = "insert into $table_info(name, badge_number, priviledge, category) values('$name', '$badge_number', '$priviledge', '$category')";
$result = #mysql_query($query_string) or die (mysql_error());
//echo "Your details have been entered! Please click on 'View Users' to display all users.";
echo "1";
}
?>
<?php
$action = rtrim($_REQUEST['action']);
if($action=="delete")
{
$id = rtrim($_REQUEST['id']);
$order = $_REQUEST['order'];
echo deleteRow($id);
echo selectAll($order);
}
elseif($action=="insert")
{
$name = $_REQUEST['name'];
$badge_number = $_REQUEST['badge_number'];
$priviledge = $_REQUEST['priviledge'];
$category = $_REQUEST['category'];
echo insertRow($name, $badge_number, $priviledge, $category);
}
elseif($action=="update")
{
$order = $_REQUEST['order'];
echo selectAll($order);
}
?>
You shouldn't need to append the return data to the page at all. Why don't you run your function immediately after the AJAX request completes, like so:
$.ajax({
success: function(data) {
if(data === "0") {
alert("Badge Number already exists, please check again.");
}
else if(data === "1") {
alert("Your details have been entered!")
ADD_USER_POPUP.close();
}
}
});
place getDivResult() to onclick in which button you click like
< button onclick="getDivResult()">Click me< /button>"
i think it will be work with you.
enclose the echo with a div then trying getting the value by the id.
or
try echoing via json enconde
json_encode
then fetch the value by using AJAX
i think, this script <script>getDivResult();</script> was replaced the content of #divResult by ajax code $("div#divResult").html(data);. Instead of that, place the script inside head section rather than inside #divResult to execute that.
Where is your ajax? How do you do it?
It looks like you're using jQuery. Try reading the documentation
https://api.jquery.com/jquery.get/
You can try something like this:
$.get( "ajax/test.html", function( data ) {
if(data === "0")
{
alert("Badge Number already exists, please check again.");
}
else if(data === "1")
{
alert("Your details have been entered!")
ADD_USER_POPUP.close;
}
});
data should be your 0 or 1
When you do .html(data) all the existing elements wipedoff and replaced by new content:
$("div#divResult").html(data);
I guess you should do this:
$("div#divResult").html(data);
getDivResult(); // call after it. and put the function globally.
Run your function
getDivResult();
after
$("div#divResult").html(data);
in ajax
I am trying to call a PHP function from an external PHP file into a JavaScript script. My code is different and large, so I am writing a sample code here.
This is my PHP code:
<?php
function add($a,$b){
$c=$a+$b;
return $c;
}
function mult($a,$b){
$c=$a*$b;
return $c;
}
function divide($a,$b){
$c=$a/$b;
return $c;
}
?>
This is my JavaScript code:
<script>
var phpadd= add(1,2); //call the php add function
var phpmult= mult(1,2); //call the php mult function
var phpdivide= divide(1,2); //call the php divide function
</script>
So this is what I want to do.
My original PHP file doesn't include these mathematical functions but the idea is same.
If some how it doesn't have a proper solution, then may you please suggest an alternative, but it should call values from external PHP.
Yes, you can do ajax request to server with your data in request parameters, like this (very simple):
Note that the following code uses jQuery
jQuery.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: 'your_functions_address.php',
dataType: 'json',
data: {functionname: 'add', arguments: [1, 2]},
success: function (obj, textstatus) {
if( !('error' in obj) ) {
yourVariable = obj.result;
}
else {
console.log(obj.error);
}
}
});
and your_functions_address.php like this:
<?php
header('Content-Type: application/json');
$aResult = array();
if( !isset($_POST['functionname']) ) { $aResult['error'] = 'No function name!'; }
if( !isset($_POST['arguments']) ) { $aResult['error'] = 'No function arguments!'; }
if( !isset($aResult['error']) ) {
switch($_POST['functionname']) {
case 'add':
if( !is_array($_POST['arguments']) || (count($_POST['arguments']) < 2) ) {
$aResult['error'] = 'Error in arguments!';
}
else {
$aResult['result'] = add(floatval($_POST['arguments'][0]), floatval($_POST['arguments'][1]));
}
break;
default:
$aResult['error'] = 'Not found function '.$_POST['functionname'].'!';
break;
}
}
echo json_encode($aResult);
?>
Try This
<script>
var phpadd= <?php echo add(1,2);?> //call the php add function
var phpmult= <?php echo mult(1,2);?> //call the php mult function
var phpdivide= <?php echo divide(1,2);?> //call the php divide function
</script>
use document.write
for example,
<script>
document.write(' <?php add(1,2); ?> ');
document.write(' <?php milt(1,2); ?> ');
document.write(' <?php divide(1,2); ?> ');
</script>
You need to create an API :
Your js functions execute AJAX requests on your web service
var mult = function(arg1, arg2)
$.ajax({
url: "webservice.php?action=mult&arg1="+arg1+"&arg2="+arg2
}).done(function(data) {
console.log(data);
});
}
on the php side, you'll have to check the action parameter in order to execute the propre function (basically a switch statement on the $_GET["action"] variable)
index.php
<body>
...
<input id="Div7" name="Txt_Nombre" maxlenght="100px" placeholder="Nombre" />
<input id="Div8" name="Txt_Correo" maxlenght="100px" placeholder="Correo" />
<textarea id="Div9" name="Txt_Pregunta" placeholder="Pregunta" /></textarea>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".Txt_Enviar").click(function() { EnviarCorreo(); });
});
function EnviarCorreo()
{
jQuery.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: 'servicios.php',
data: {functionname: 'enviaCorreo', arguments: [$(".Txt_Nombre").val(), $(".Txt_Correo").val(), $(".Txt_Pregunta").val()]},
success:function(data) {
alert(data);
}
});
}
</script>
servicios.php
<?php
include ("correo.php");
$nombre = $_POST["Txt_Nombre"];
$correo = $_POST["Txt_Corro"];
$pregunta = $_POST["Txt_Pregunta"];
switch($_POST["functionname"]){
case 'enviaCorreo':
EnviaCorreoDesdeWeb($nombre, $correo, $pregunta);
break;
}
?>
correo.php
<?php
function EnviaCorreoDesdeWeb($nombre, $correo, $pregunta)
{
...
}
?>
This work perfectly for me:
To call a PHP function (with parameters too) you can, like a lot of people said, send a parameter opening the PHP file and from there check the value of the parameter to call the function. But you can also do that lot of people say it's impossible: directly call the proper PHP function, without adding code to the PHP file.
I found a way:
This for JavaScript:
function callPHP(expression, objs, afterHandler) {
expression = expression.trim();
var si = expression.indexOf("(");
if (si == -1)
expression += "()";
else if (Object.keys(objs).length > 0) {
var sfrom = expression.substring(si + 1);
var se = sfrom.indexOf(")");
var result = sfrom.substring(0, se).trim();
if (result.length > 0) {
var params = result.split(",");
var theend = expression.substring(expression.length - sfrom.length + se);
expression = expression.substring(0, si + 1);
for (var i = 0; i < params.length; i++) {
var param = params[i].trim();
if (param in objs) {
var value = objs[param];
if (typeof value == "string")
value = "'" + value + "'";
if (typeof value != "undefined")
expression += value + ",";
}
}
expression = expression.substring(0, expression.length - 1) + theend;
}
}
var doc = document.location;
var phpFile = "URL of your PHP file";
var php =
"$docl = str_replace('/', '\\\\', '" + doc + "'); $absUrl = str_replace($docl, $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'], str_replace('/', '\\\\', '" + phpFile + "'));" +
"$fileName = basename($absUrl);$folder = substr($absUrl, 0, strlen($absUrl) - strlen($fileName));" +
"set_include_path($folder);include $fileName;" + expression + ";";
var url = doc + "/phpCompiler.php" + "?code=" + encodeURIComponent(php);
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: url,
complete: function(resp){
var response = resp.responseText;
afterHandler(response);
}
});
}
This for a PHP file which isn't your PHP file, but another, which path is written in url variable of JS function callPHP , and it's required to evaluate PHP code. This file is called 'phpCompiler.php' and it's in the root directory of your website:
<?php
$code = urldecode($_REQUEST['code']);
$lines = explode(";", $code);
foreach($lines as $line)
eval(trim($line, " ") . ";");
?>
So, your PHP code remain equals except return values, which will be echoed:
<?php
function add($a,$b){
$c=$a+$b;
echo $c;
}
function mult($a,$b){
$c=$a*$b;
echo $c;
}
function divide($a,$b){
$c=$a/$b;
echo $c;
}
?>
I suggest you to remember that jQuery is required:
Download it from Google CDN:
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
or from Microsoft CDN: "I prefer Google! :)"
<script src="https://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jQuery/jquery-3.1.1.min.js"></script>
Better is to download the file from one of two CDNs and put it as local file, so the startup loading of your website's faster!The choice is to you!
Now you finished! I just tell you how to use callPHP function. This is the JavaScript to call PHP:
//Names of parameters are custom, they haven't to be equals of these of the PHP file.
//These fake names are required to assign value to the parameters in PHP
//using an hash table.
callPHP("add(num1, num2)", {
'num1' : 1,
'num2' : 2
},
function(output) {
alert(output); //This to display the output of the PHP file.
});
If you actually want to send data to a php script for example you can do this:
The php:
<?php
$a = $_REQUEST['a'];
$b = $_REQUEST['b']; //totally sanitized
echo $a + $b;
?>
Js (using jquery):
$.post("/path/to/above.php", {a: something, b: something}, function(data){
$('#somediv').html(data);
});
Void Function
<?php
function printMessage() {
echo "Hello World!";
}
?>
<script>
document.write("<?php printMessage() ?>");
</script>
Value Returning Function
<?php
function getMessage() {
return "Hello World!";
}
?>
<script>
var text = "<?php echo getMessage() ?>";
</script>
I wrote some script for me its working .. I hope it may useful to you
<?php
if(#$_POST['add'])
{
function add()
{
$a="You clicked on add fun";
echo $a;
}
add();
}
else if (#$_POST['sub'])
{
function sub()
{
$a="You clicked on sub funn";
echo $a;
}
sub();
}
?>
<form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];?>" method="POST">
<input type="submit" name="add" Value="Call Add fun">
<input type="submit" name="sub" Value="Call Sub funn">
<?php echo #$a; ?>
</form>
Try looking at CASSIS. The idea is to mix PHP with JS so both can work on client and server side.
I created this library JS PHP Import which you can download from github, and use whenever and wherever you want.
The library allows importing php functions and class methods into javascript browser environment thus they can be accessed as javascript functions and methods by using their actual names. The code uses javascript promises so you can chain functions returns.
I hope it may useful to you.
Example:
<script>
$scandir(PATH_TO_FOLDER).then(function(result) {
resultObj.html(result.join('<br>'));
});
$system('ls -l').then(function(result) {
resultObj.append(result);
});
$str_replace(' ').then(function(result) {
resultObj.append(result);
});
// Chaining functions
$testfn(34, 56).exec(function(result) { // first call
return $testfn(34, result); // second call with the result of the first call as a parameter
}).exec(function(result) {
resultObj.append('result: ' + result + '<br><br>');
});
</script>
I made a version only using js, without using any dependencies. I think this is the shorest solution but probably not the best one since it doens't check for any errors.
javascript
var a = 1;
var b = 2;
function add(){
var xmlHttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xmlHttp.open( "GET", "YOUR_SERVER/function.php?a="+a+"&b="+b, false );
xmlHttp.send( null );
return xmlHttp.responseText;
}
var c = add(a, b)
function.php file
<?php echo $_GET["a"] + $_GET["b"]?>
c = 3
I created this library, may be of help to you.
MyPHP client and server side library
Example:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<title>Page Title</title>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
</head>
<body>
<!-- include MyPHP.js -->
<script src="MyPHP.js"></script>
<!-- use MyPHP class -->
<script>
const php = new MyPHP;
php.auth = 'hashed-key';
// call a php class
const phpClass = php.fromClass('Authentication' or 'Moorexa\\Authentication', <pass aguments for constructor here>);
// call a method in that class
phpClass.method('login', <arguments>);
// you can keep chaining here...
// finally let's call this class
php.call(phpClass).then((response)=>{
// returns a promise.
});
// calling a function is quite simple also
php.call('say_hello', <arguments>).then((response)=>{
// returns a promise
});
// if your response has a script tag and you need to update your dom call just call
php.html(response);
</script>
</body>
</html>
