Hi i have problem with bootstrap scrollspy function.
For example when i akcept something, that will run reload function, my scrollspy element have to be at the same position like before, but it doesn't work for me. He just refreshing position.
I tried to change something in scrollspy.js from bootstrap order but that doesn't help me or maby i changed something at wrong position in code.
So, im looking for javascript or jquery solution to fix it.
var refreshScrollSpy = function (element, navElement, offset) {
// cache current scroll position to come back after refreshing, in your
// case you can save your old position in this variable.
var cacheScrolltop = $(element).scrollTop();
$(element)
.scrollTop(0)
.scrollspy(‘refresh’)
.scrollTop(cacheScrolltop);
};

I'm using the slides widget of Elementor Pro which is based on swiper.js and want to make use of the slideTo() function which the swiper offers to slide to a certain slide. I could not find a way to address the slider with javascript. I tried to add something like
$('.btn').on('click', function() {
mySwiper.slideTo(2)
});
or
$('.btn').on('click', function() {
mySwiper[0].slideTo(2); // in case there is more than one swiper element
});
But that did not work, since I could not identify the slider.
Analysising Elementor's frontend.js I still could not find out how the swiper instances are called within the plugin.
Has anyone managed to managed a way to call swiper sliders that come from Elementor?
Thanks in advance.
The question probably can also be related to this question
Identify Reference to Destroy & Re-Initialize Swiper in Elementor
You can give an ID to the Elementor widget ex: slider1 and then with JS you can use:
var sliderInstance = document.querySelector('#slider1 .swiper-container').swiper;
After this you can call sliderInstance.slideTo(2) wherever you want.
The code above didn't work for me, because I used the 'AE-elementor Post Blocks' to show woocommerce products as a slider. It helped me along the way tough, so i'll post my solution here for those who arent sliding pictures, but post trough 'AE Post Blocks'
The code above returned a null, so i couldn't reach my slider. This is how I eventually did:
var mySwiper = new Swiper ('#slider1 .swiper-container');
mySwiper.slideTo(2);
In some cases it is possible that the script of the slider is overwriting your custom code, because it is added later on. That was the case in my project, so I've put a little delay on the script.
setTimeout( function(){
var mySwiper = new Swiper ('#gr-week-swipe .swiper-container');
mySwiper.slideTo(2);
} , 500 );
Now its working fine. Thanks #AlanRezende, your code helped me along the way!
I have a Bootstrap carousel and an invisible div with a loading gif that I want to show while a big image is loading. I'd like to show this div only when I change the active image on the carousel and this image is still loading.
I've already got the HTML and CSS working, I just need an help with jQuery.
I fetch the images links from Imgur and then build the carousel-items that I need with jQuery and append them on the carousel container.
I then attached to the carousel event slide.bs.carousel a function that shows me the loader. and this works
BUT BUT BUT
I'm worried that the loader will show for few milliseconds even if the image is already loaded/cached. How can I prevent this? How can I know if the image that is becoming active is already loaded? Do I really need to worry about this or I just leave it like this?).
I then want to hide the loader when the active image is ready, and I've done this:
$('.carousel-item img').each(function(){
$(this).on('load', function(){
$("#loader_container").css("visibility","hidden");
});
});
But it doesn't work. Seems like this load even keeps firing until
all the images of the whole carousel are loaded, and also somehow
the loader doesn't hide in the end, and this is the issue n.2.
Probably I'm approaching this wrong.
Is issue n.1 really a problem? And how can I solve issue n.2?
Thank you!
EDIT 1:
I tried to do this but still doesn't work. When I slide to the next slide I see that the image is already loaded, then the loader appears and doesn't go away anymore.
$(".carousel-item img").each(function(index){
$(this).on('slid.bs.carousel', function(){
$("#loader_container").css("visibility","visible");
});
$(this).on('load', function(){
$("#loader_container").css("visibility","hidden");
});
$(this).attr("src",links[index]);
});
EDIT 2:
Also, it seems like the browser try to load all the images as soon as possible, even the ones that are not displayed/are not active items.
I'd like to load the images only if the user goes to that slide and makes the item active.
EDIT 3:
I've found a library name jquery.unveil.js that seems like it does exactly what I need and is super easy to use... but somehow it doesn't work.
Maybe AngularJS can help me? Anyone know how can I modify my code to do this with angular? Like using ngui-in-view?
$('.carousel-item img').each(function(){
$(this).on('slid.bs.carousel', function(){
$("#loader_container").css("display","none");
});
});
You can use the slide.bs.carousel and slid.bs.carousel instead
Solved with lazy loader, here the code:
$(".carousel.lazy").on("slide.bs.carousel", function(ev) {
var lazy;
lazy = $(ev.relatedTarget).find("img[data-src]");
if(lazy.length > 0){
$("#loader_container").css("visibility","visible");
$(".carousel-item img").on("load",function(){
$("#loader_container").css("visibility","hidden");
});
lazy.attr("src", lazy.data('src'));
lazy.removeAttr("data-src");
}});
I needed that if(lazy.length > 0) because once I did a full round of the carousel and all the images where loaded, somehow the loader would show up and never go away. I tried with if(img.complete) but it didn't work so I used that technique.
I have added this code to my site (without all the stuff to set up the comments and headers): http://jsfiddle.net/WzLG2/3/ Below is the javascript.
jQuery.noConflict();
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
var top = jQuery('#smi').offset().top - parseFloat(jQuery('#smi').css('margin-top').replace(/auto/, 0));
jQuery(window).scroll(function (event) {
// what the y position of the scroll is
var y = jQuery(this).scrollTop();
// whether that's below the form
if (y >= top) {
// if so, ad the fixed class
jQuery('#smi').addClass('fixed');
} else {
// otherwise remove it
jQuery('#smi').removeClass('fixed');
}
});
});

I'm trying to get the brown box underneath my header to scroll to the top and then stop there like in the jsfiddle. I'm using thesis and I have jquery enabled. I have wordpress and I already looked up how to use jquery in wordpress with replacing $ with jQuery.
I got the basis for the code from this site: Jquery for designers (it won't let me post the link)
I tested and jquery appears to be loading, I used firebug and I'm not seeing errors that pertain to this code (it looks like some plugins may have errors, however). I'm pretty new at coding so I'm not sure what else to test or how to troubleshoot much past this. My end goal is to use this for my social media icons instead of the tabs on the side. Any guidance or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
First step is to check your javascript console and remove any errors you see coming up there, as they can cause problems elsewhere. Not saying it's related, but your call to jQuery('#commentluv') is broken. I also notice you're using jQuery 1.4.2 which is really old, and should consider upgrading (maybe not to version 2 as that changed a lot, but at least to 1.9, maybe 1.10).
I'm having a problem with this jquery script. I have an a tag that has height:80% and the width is calculated by Javascript. I'm trying to expand it horizontaly with jquery on mouse over, so the width will have to be again calculated by JS. The script I'm using is the following:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#bmenu1-1").mouseenter(function(){
var imh=(window.innerHeight||screen.availHeight)*0.18;
var imw=imh+"px";
$("#bmenu1-1").animate({width: imw },500);
});
});
Nothing happens on the page (when I put my mouse over the element) and I've tried putting there a window.alert(imw) but, also, nothing! If anyone has any thoughts....
Thanks for your help!
Well im new to jscrollpane but ive been doing well so far until i placed multiple Mysql Results within a small div and a pagination class.
The scrollbar apears the first time, but as soon as i click page 2, and get the new rows the scrollbar wont appear, this is the pagination method
$('#pagination a').click(function(){
$.getJSON($(this).attr('href')+'&isajax=true', function(json){
$('#mytableinfo').html(json.datos);
}
);
so after that i need to reinitialise my jscrollpane so i try to do this as provided by jscrollpane documentation.
var pane = $('.scroll-class')
var api = pane.data('jsp');
api.reinitialise();
and i cant see anything the scrollbar just wont appear and its driving me nuts.
if i try to reinitialize after hiding-showing divs it does work , but i wont work after changing the whole div content
Try with the autoReinitialise parameter:
$('.scroll-class').jScrollPane({ showArrows: true, autoReinitialise: true }
