Clearing localStorage of a page without affecting other localStorage - javascript

In my code i have set multiple items in local storage, when i use localStorage.clear() it resets the variable of my other webapps as well, and i do not want to remove each item one by one, i want to reset the specific container of my localStorage of that page, whole storage of my browser.
here is my code
if (localStorage.container) {
var i = parseInt(localStorage.container);
} else {
localStorage.setItem('container', "0");
var i = parseInt(localStorage.container);
}
var caseNum = $("#caseNum").val();
localStorage.setItem('caseNum' + i, caseNum);
var empName = checkName()
localStorage.setItem('empName' + i, empName);
var emp = $("#emp").val();
localStorage.setItem('emp' + i, emp);
var trigTime = $("#trigTime").val();
localStorage.setItem('trigTime' + i, trigTime);
var country = $("#country").val();
localStorage.setItem('country' + i, country);
var date = $("#date").val();
localStorage.setItem('date' + i, date);
var caseDate = $("#date").val();
localStorage.setItem('caseDate' + i, caseDate);
var doneTime = currTime();
localStorage.setItem('doneTime' + i, doneTime);
var dispo = $("#dispo").val();
localStorage.setItem('dispo' + i, dispo);
var subDispo = $("#subDispo").val();
localStorage.setItem('subDispo' + i, subDispo);
var caseCount = $("#caseCount").val();
localStorage.setItem('caseCount' + i, caseCount);
var A1 = '';
localStorage.setItem('A1' + i, A1);
var A2 = '';
localStorage.setItem('A2' + i, A2);
var A3 = '';
localStorage.setItem('A3' + i, A3);
var project = $("input[type='radio'][name='project']:checked").val();
localStorage.setItem('project' + i, project);
var prefix = '';
if (country == "Kenya") {
prefix = "KY";
}
localStorage.setItem('prefix' + i, prefix);
var called1 = '';
if ($("#called0").prop("checked") == true) {
called1 = "Yes";
} else if ($("#called0").prop("checked") == false) {
called1 = "No";
}
localStorage.setItem('called1' + i, called1);
i++;
localStorage.setItem('container', i);
that code is for my dynamic table, do it is creating an array of entries in tablerow.
i tried to use localStorage.removeItem(container); but does not work. Any suggestions please ?

Column filtering and stacking on table not working on backspace in input

I have created my table with jQuery and have it using filtering on the column. However, ran into something interesting.
Below is my fiddle
https://jsfiddle.net/4sy5dweg/1/
So my issue is as follows -
Once I find what I am looking for by filtering. If I decided to start backspacing I want it to continue searching that column and obviously start going backwards on searching.
I hope that makes sense.
$.extend($.expr[":"], {
"containsIN": function (elem, i, match, array) {
return (elem.textContent || elem.innerText || "").toLowerCase().indexOf((match[3] || "").toLowerCase()) >= 0;
}
});
$("[id*=TXTSEARCH]").keyup(function () {
tablename = $(this).closest('table').attr('id');
mytd = $(this).closest('th');
var indexColumn = mytd.index();
var data = this.value.toLowerCase().split(" ");
var jo = $("[id*=" + tablename + "]").find("tr:not(:first)");
jo.filter(function (i, v) {
var $t = $(this).children(":eq(" + indexColumn + ")");
for (var d = 0; d < data.length; ++d) {
if ($t.is(":not(:containsIN('" + data[d] + "'))")) {
console.log(data[d]);
return true;
}
}
return false;
}).hide();
})
I know the issue has to do with hiding that row on initial search. However, somehow for isntance if someone has a typo and goes to backspace it wont show anything because that row is still hidden. Is there a way to keep the other filters in place and basically remove the filter from the row being corrected?
I hope I am making sense.
Update I have attempted the following -
$("[id*=TXTSEARCH]").keyup(function () {
var tablename = $(this).closest('table').attr('id');
console.log(tablename);
var FindMyRow;
$("#" + tablename).find('th:visible').find($("[id*=TXTSEARCH]")).each(function () {
FindMyRow = $(this).closest('th:visible');
var indexColumn = FindMyRow.index();
console.log($(this).attr('id') + " " + indexColumn);
var data = this.value.toLowerCase().split(" ");
var jo = $("[id*=" + tablename + "]").find("tr:not(:first)");
jo.show().filter(function (i, v) {
var $t = $(this).children(":eq(" + indexColumn + ")");
for (var d = 0; d < data.length; ++d) {
if ($t.is(":not(:containsIN('" + data[d] + "'))")) {
console.log(data[d]);
return true;
}
}
return false;
}).hide();
});
to no avail.
Decided to change my way of doing it.
I added a button to each column header that the user can click on so that if they make a type they just check it before clicking it.
$("[id*=BTNSEARCH]").click(function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
var tablename = $(this).closest('table').attr('id');
mytd = $(this).closest('th');
var TextBoxToSearch = ($(this).prev('input').val());
var indexColumn = mytd.index();
FindMyRow = $(this).closest('th:visible');
var indexColumn = FindMyRow.index();
var data = TextBoxToSearch.toLowerCase().split(" ");
var jo = $("#" + tablename).find("tr:not(:first)");
jo.filter(function (i, v) {
var $t = $(this).children(":eq(" + indexColumn + ")");
for (var d = 0; d < data.length; ++d) {
if ($t.is(":not(:containsIN('" + data[d] + "'))")) {
return true;
}
}
return false;
}).hide();
})

Delete all empty cells in a column then shift all non empty cells up

Here is my code:
var ct = 0;
var sheet = SpreadsheetApp.getActiveSheet();
var cell = sheet.getCurrentCell();
var cellcol = cell.getColumn();
var cellrow = cell.getRow()
var notate = cell.getA1Notation();
var temp, letter = '';
var solved = new Array()
var pend = new Array()
var cellcol1 = cellcol + 1;
var p;
function copycell1() {
getFirstEmptyRowByColumnArray();
cell.copyTo(sheet.getRange(ct,cellcol,1,1))
cell.clearContent();
}
function getFirstEmptyRowByColumnArray() {
columnToLetter(cellcol)
var column = sheet.getRange(letter + ':' + letter);
var values = column.getValues();
while ( values[ct] && values[ct][0] !== "" ) {
ct++;
}
ct++
}
function getFirstEmptyRowByColumnArray2() {
columnToLetter(cellcol);
var cellrow = cell.getRow();
var column = sheet.getRange(letter + cellrow + ':' + letter);
var values = column.getValues();
while ( values[ct] && values[ct][0] !== "" ) {
ct++;
}
}
function columnToLetter(column)
{
while (column > 0)
{
temp = (column - 1) % 26;
letter = String.fromCharCode(temp + 65) + letter;
column = (column - temp - 1) / 26;
}
return letter;
}
function totalSolved() {
getFirstEmptyRowByColumnArray2()
var compacolumn = sheet.getRange(letter + cellrow + ':' + letter + (ct+cellrow));
var valuesSolved = compacolumn.getValues();
solved = valuesSolved
}
function totalPending() {
letter = '';
ct = 0;
cellcol = cellcol + 1;
getFirstEmptyRowByColumnArray2()
cellrow = cell.getRow();
var compacolumn = sheet.getRange(letter + cellrow + ':' + letter + (ct + cellrow));
var valuesPend = compacolumn.getValues();
pend = valuesPend
}
function compa() {
var i;
var o;
totalSolved();
totalPending();
for ( i = 0; i < pend.length; i++ ) {
for (o = 0; o < solved.length; o++) {
if (pend[i].toString() == solved[o].toString()) {
sheet.getRange(i+cellrow,cellcol1).clearContent();
}
else {
}
}
}
clearemp();
clearemp();
clearemp();
}
function clearemp() {
lastRowForColumn(cellcol1)
for (var i = 0; i < p; i++){
if((sheet.getRange(letter+(cellrow+i)).getValue()) == "")
{
Logger.log(sheet.getRange(letter+(cellrow+i)).getA1Notation());
sheet.getRange(letter+(cellrow+i)).deleteCells(SpreadsheetApp.Dimension.ROWS);
}
}
}
function lastRowForColumn(column){
var numRows = sheet.getLastRow();
Logger.log("numRows is " + numRows)
var data = sheet.getRange(1, column, numRows).getValues();
Logger.log("data is " + data)
Logger.log("data.length is " + data.length)
for(p = data.length - 1 ; p >= 0 ; p--){
if (data[p][0] != null && data[p][0] != ""){
Logger.log ("p is " + p)
return p + 1;
}
}
}
function test() {
Logger.log("cellcol is " + cellcol1)
lastRowForColumn(cellcol1)
Logger.log("p is " + p)
}
The function I'm talking about is compa().
The specific function that deletes the cells is clearemp(). But whenever I do it it is still not complete and I am at a loss on what to do
CONTEXT: I am working on comparing two lists and then removing the equal cells on the 2nd column and then shifting the cells up.
function delcels(col=1) {
const ss=SpreadsheetApp.getActive();
const sh=ss.getSheetByName('Sheet1');
const rg=sh.getRange(1,col,sh.getLastRow());
const c1=rg.getValues().filter((e)=>!(e===""));//thanks to iansedano
rg.clearContent();
sh.getRange(1,col,c1.length,1).setValues(c1);
}
A possible solution
There are a few approaches, but here is one, that is essentially the same as Cooper's, except that it doesn't clear values that are 0. Only if the cell is empty, i.e. "" will it clear the cell.
/**
* Clears empty cells in column
*
* #param columnToClear - the column that should be cleared, defaults to 1
* #param sheetName - the name of the sheet, defaults to "Sheet1"
*/
function clearBlanks(columnToClear = 1, sheetName = "Sheet1") {
const file = SpreadsheetApp.getActive();
const sheet = file.getSheetByName(sheetName);
const range = sheet.getRange(1, columnToClear, sheet.getLastRow(), 1);
const output = range.getValues().filter(e => !(e[0] === ""));
range.clearContent();
const outputRange = sheet.getRange(1, columnToClear, output.length, 1)
outputRange.setValues(output)
}
This gets the whole range into memory as a 2D array.
Uses filter to take out any values that are strictly equal === to and empty string. So it will not clear 0 values.
Clears the whole column, and pastes in the filtered array.
Filter
This is called on an array
array.filter(function)
You need to pass in a function that will return either a True or False value. The filter will go through each element and if it gets False then it will remove that element. In the example above, its passed in as an arrow function. When its an arrow function, if its on one line, you don't need to include the return statement.
There are a few useful functions that are like this. For example, forEach and map that can be very useful for the types of operation you are doing.

Brainlabs adwords script remove firstpagemaxbid restriction

Can some body help me modify this script.
The purpose of the script is to change bids for the keywords based on average position. One of the assumptions that the script has is that it sets a firstpagebid for the keyword but it won't allow for the bid to go below the firstpagebid even if the position is too high.
Is there a way to remove this restriction? so basically if the new cpc calculated is lower than the first page bid then it allows for the new cpc to be lower than the firstpage bid.

As I understand, the script increases the cpcBid when the current average position is too high, and decreases it when the position is too low.
But when the bid is decreased and the previous bid is more than firstPageBid, the new bid will not decrease below firstPageBid.
Remove
if (cpcBid > firstPageBid) {
var newBid = Math.max(firstPageBid,newBid);
}
to allow your new bid to go lower than firstPageBid.

Javascript error after upgrade to Drupal 7

I posted a similar question at the Drupal Forum, but I haven't had much luck.
I'm upgrading a site from D6 to D7. So far it's gone well, but I'm getting a Javascript error that I just can't pin down a solution for.
This is a cut down version of the whole script:
(function($) {
function sign(secret, message) {
var messageBytes = str2binb(message);
var secretBytes = str2binb(secret);
if (secretBytes.length > 16) {
secretBytes = core_sha256(secretBytes, secret.length * chrsz);
}
var ipad = Array(16), opad = Array(16);
for (var i = 0; i < 16; i++) {
ipad[i] = secretBytes[i] ^ 0x36363636;
opad[i] = secretBytes[i] ^ 0x5C5C5C5C;
}
var imsg = ipad.concat(messageBytes);
var ihash = core_sha256(imsg, 512 + message.length * chrsz);
var omsg = opad.concat(ihash);

var time = new Date();
var gmtTime = new Date(time.getTime() + (time.getTimezoneOffset() * 60000));

}(jQuery));
The part that keeps throwing an error I'm seeing in Firebug is at:
Date.prototype.toISODate =
new Function("with (this)\n return " +
"getFullYear()+'-'+addZero(getMonth()+1)+'-'" +
"+addZero(getDate())+'T'+addZero(getHours())+':'" +
"+addZero(getMinutes())+':'+addZero(getSeconds())+'.000Z'");
Firebug keeps stopping at "addZero is not defined". JS has never been my strong point, and I know some changes have been made in D7. I've already wrapped the entire script in "(function($) { }(jQuery));", but I must be missing something else. The same script works perfectly on the D6 site.
Here is the "fixed" version of the whole code with #Pointy suggestion added. All I left out is the part of the script for making the hash that goes to Amazon, and some of my declared variables.

Here's a better version of your code:
Date.prototype.toISODate = function() {
function addZero(n) {
return ( n < 0 || n > 9 ? "" : "0" ) + n;
}
var d = this;
return d.getFullYear() + '-' +
addZero(d.getMonth() + 1) + '-' +
addZero(d.getDate()) + 'T' +
addZero(d.getHours()) + ':' +
addZero(d.getMinutes()) + ':' +
addZero(d.getSeconds()) + '.000Z';
};
That moves "addDate" inside the extension function, and it avoids the horrid with statement.

Trouble hiding/showing divs in using DOM/js/css

I am trying to make a debugger that will be dynamiaclly created with some variables. The names on the left div need to show a div for the corresponding variables Description,Variable ID, and initial Value as well as another div that will show history and lock status when variables are updated later. Where I am having trouble is properly adding the show/hide to the dom I think. Everything starts hidden and then when I click a name the Variables for that name show up but the next click doesn't hide the values from the former. Also any cleanup/optimization advice?
<script type="text/javascript">
var variableIDArray = {};
function loadVariables(variables) {
if (typeof variables != "object") { alert(variables); return; }
var namearea = document.getElementById('namearea');
var description = document.getElementById('description');
var varid = document.getElementById('varid');
var initialvalue = document.getElementById('initialvalue');
var valuelock = document.getElementById('valuelock');
for (var i = 0; i < variables.length - 1; i++) {
var nameDiv = document.createElement('div');
nameDiv.id = variables[i].variableID + "namearea";
nameDiv.className = "nameDiv";
nameDiv.onclick = (function (varid) {
return function () { showvariable(varid); };
})(variables[i].variableID);
nameDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode(variables[i].name));
namearea.appendChild(nameDiv);
var descriptionDiv = document.createElement('div');
descriptionDiv.id = variables[i].variableID + "description";
descriptionDiv.className = "descriptionDiv";
descriptionDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Description : " + variables[i].description));
description.appendChild(descriptionDiv);
var varidDiv = document.createElement('div');
varidDiv.id = variables[i].variableID + "varid";
varidDiv.className = "varidDiv";
varidDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Var ID : " + variables[i].variableID));
varid.appendChild(varidDiv);
var initialvalueDiv = document.createElement('div'); ;
initialvalueDiv.id = variables[i].variableID + "initialvalue";
initialvalueDiv.className = "initialvalueDiv";
initialvalueDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Initial Value : " + variables[i].value));
initialvalue.appendChild(initialvalueDiv);
var valuelockDiv = document.createElement('div');
valuelockDiv.id = variables[i].variableID + "valuelock";
valuelockDiv.className = "valuelockDiv ";
valuelockDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Value : " + variables[i].value));
valuelockDiv.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Lock : " + variables[i].locked.toString()));
valuelock.appendChild(valuelockDiv);
variableIDArray[variables[i].variableID];
}
};
function showvariable(varid) {
for (v in variableIDArray)
hide(variableIDArray[v]);
show(varid + "description");
show(varid + "varid");
show(varid + "initialvalue");
show(varid + "valuelock");
}
function show(elemid) {
document.getElementById(elemid).style.display = "block";
}
function hide(elemid) {
document.getElementById(elemid).style.display = "none";

Yes. jQuery. Will reduce your code to about 6 lines. :) http://jquery.com
