How to create methods with a loop in jquery/javascript - javascript

I'm having problems trying to register some methods I've created in a loop inside an object.
what I'm having is this:

It's working and do its job, but I want to be able to reach every method I've created through the loop in this way: console.log(ui.one());
And I don't how to do something like that since if I do this:

then I can access through console.log(ui.one()); with no problem...
What am I missing? Is there some way I don't know on registering the method when you iterate them?

scope.name refers the the name property on scope. If you want to access a property based on a string value, you need to use square bracket notation:
scope[name] = function(){
window[hookValue] = jQuery('.js-'+name);
loadAndUse(window[hookValue],key+'/'+name);

I've tried it by setting up a global variable like:
var item;
or
var obj;
if(hasOverrides) {...
So the thing that gets me the most that im not able to grasp how the connection is made
between the underlying model CasOverridesviewModel. As i assumed that self.CasOverridesViewModel.Override() would be able to fetch the data that is written on the screen.
Another try i did was var override = ko.observable(self.CasOverridesViewModel.Override()), which led to js typeError as you cannot read from an undefined object.
So if anyone is able to give me some guidance on how to get the fields from an input field available outside of this function. It would be deeply appreciated.

not sure how far outside you wanted to go with your variable but if you just define your global var at root level but only add to it at the moment your inner variable gets a value, you won't get the error of setting undefined.

Save key=>value style with ngStorage/localstorage

In my Ionic app I've added the plugin 'ngStorage' and it comes with a little demo code:

This works exactly as told. I add("foo") it, and do getAll() and the value is there. I remove the add(), but keep the getAll(), I still have the value "foo" (as expected).
This isn't very usefull for me, I want to access it with keys, so I've made the following:
var addByKey = function (key, value) {
$localStorage.things[key] = value;
// Or, I've also tried:
$localStorage.things.key = value;
}
When I do the addByKey("foo","bar") and then the getAll() I get the values exactly as I want. When I remove the addByKey() and reload, I expect it to still remember the set information, but it doesn't exist. However, the first attempt via the add() function still exists, "foo" is still there (meaning the array doesnt reset).
How do I make a key->value type of structure?

Assuming that you want a key value storage system you can simply use an object instead of an array so that every key can be set as a property of this object.

However, assuming that you want to keep a reference of all values on the main collection and access them through keys, you can consider using an object to store the things intead of an array. So that you can use a property to store all items (you can store in a different place as well) and use this object to store your keys by referencing the to a desired value on your collection.
You may need to implement the deletion logic to maintain the consistence between the collection and the dictionary.
Your factory would look like this:

Passing variable into object method javascript

trying to get my head around objects, methods, closures, etc... in Javascript.
Can't see why this isn't working, some fundamental flaw in my thinking I guess. I'm expecting the val variable to be passed through to the addNote() function but it isn't. I thought that any variables declared outside of a function are available to that function, as long as they're not within another function. Is that not correct?

There are several issues with the code in the question
defining an argument named val and not passing an argument to the function
when calling clearField() inside the object literal it's this.clearField()
You're only getting the value once, not on every click
val is a string, it has no wrap method
$input.val = ''; is not valid jQuery
I would clean it up like this

In your call to addNote(), you don't pass any argument for the val, so it will be undefined:
noteApp.addNote();
// ^^ nothing
Pass the input (seems you want the jQuery object not the string value because of your val.wrap call):
noteApp.addNote($input);
When you declare the val in the function, it is scoped to that function and will only be populated if the function call passes a value for that argument. Even if you have another variable in an upper scope with the same name val, they are still differentiated. Any reference to val in the function will refer to the local val not the upper scope.

How to create a javascript library using a closure

I have written some javascript that I would to encapsulate in a closure so I can use it elsewhere. I would like do do this similar to the way jQuery has done it. I would like to be able to pass in an id to my closure and invoke some functions on it, while setting some options. Similar to this:

Because you declared _snr as an object and not a function. Functions can have properties and methods, so there's various ways to achieve what you want, for example one of them would be say...

You can also pass the outer context into a closure to hide your variables from accidentally polluting the global namespace, so like...

Because your _snr is an object, not a function. You have to call it like this:
_snr.draw({
canvasId: '#canvas',
imageSrc: 'someImage.png'
});
When you do _snr('#canvas') that is a function call which is why you're getting that error. _snr is an object with some methods attached to it such as draw() and erase(). The reason jQuery is able to pass arguments into the $ is because they return the $ as a function object which is why we're able to pass it various selectors as arguments.

Here you have a snr object and that has erase and draw methods. What you intend to do is to write a _snr function which will get an id and return a wrapper object. That returned object should have erase and draw methods. so you can do

JS/jQuery - Advice on Creating a Variable that can be used in multiple functions

I'd like to create a a series of variable like follows that have settings per each:

An object map would be easiest here, like this:

Then in your functions you can just do panels[url] to get the selector that goes with it. If you need additional properties, just have objects instead for the values, like this:
var panels = { "/myfeed": { selector: "#view-panel-myfeed", other: "value" },
"/otherurl": { selector: "#other-url-panel" },
"/otherurl2": { selector: ".other-url-panel2" } }
Then to get the selector, it'd be panels[url].selector, .property for the other properties, etc.
It becomes extremely difficult dealing with arrays that way; you have to remember what the indexes represent. It's much better to have an object with meaningful property names.
