Select HTML5 JSON AJAX JAVASCRIPT - javascript

I want to make an html5 select with data given by javascript, and inside this javascript an ajax calling a Json URL. I mean, I´ve got this:
--index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script src="functions_app.js"></script>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js"></script>
</head>
<body onload="getData()">
<p>Sessions:
<select id="Select"></select>
</body>
</html>
functions_apps.js
function getData(){
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: 'http://.../json_offers.php',
async: false,
dataType: "json",
success: function(data){
//alert(data);
$.each(data,function(key, registro) {
var id = "";
var name = "";
$.each(registro, function(key, value) {
//alert(campo + ": " + valor);
if (key == "id") { id = value; }
if (key == "name") { name = value; }
});
});
$("#select").append('<option value='+id+'>'+nombre+'</option>');
},
error: function(data) {
alert('error');
}
});
}
json_offers.php
Json data:
[{"id":"6","name":"FLOWERS"},{"id":"8","name":"GROCERY"}]
But It does not work. It always return:
error: function(data)
I can´t load data given inside html select.
Any Help?
Best Regards

You have <select id="Select"></select>, but you are trying to put options into $("#select_zcas")

Retrieving data from json File

I have a JSON file called person.json. JSON file is in the data folder.
This is the JSON data:
{
"name": "Goa Wei",
"age": 31,
"phone": "202-555-0104",
"group": 3
}
I have the html code to display information in a div class called containerDatadump when clicking on <input id="get" type="submit" value="Get"></input>. I have written the following Javascript code.
var container = $("div.containerDatadump");
$(document).ready(function () {
$("input#get").click(function () {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "data/person.json",
dataType: "json",
success: function (data) {
$.each(data, function (index, item) {
$.each(item, function (key, value) {
container.append(key + " :" + value + "</br>");
});
container.append("<br/></br>");
});
}
});
});
});
I have done this. I try my best to debug the problem but couldn't succeed.
Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with my code? It would really help me.
My answer looks like that of forgo but i think you can improve you code a little bit by using $.getJSON instead of a regular ajax call.
$.getJSON is a shorthand ajax call for (more info):
$.ajax({
dataType: "json",
url: url,
data: data,
success: success
});
I also used JSON Generator for the data (LINK) to prevent browser issues.
Your code is a much cleaner this way (in my opinion).
$(document).ready(function () {
var container = $(".containerDatadump");
$("#get").click(function () {
$.getJSON("https://www.json-generator.com/api/json/get/ceoSrTPote?indent=2", function(data){
$.each( data, function( key, val ) {
container.append(key + " :" + val + "</br>");
});
});
});
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<div class="containerDatadump"></div>
<input id="get" type="submit" value="Get"></input>
I think the biggest problem is that you defined your container outside of your $(document).ready function. This means that your markup doesn't exist yet to properly get a handle on your containerDatadump class.
I made a temporary JSON file hosted on a remote server using this JSON Generator tool to test. Otherwise, I run into CORS issues in my browser.
{
"phone": "202-555-0104",
"age": 31,
"group": 3,
"name": "Goa Wei"
}
With this data, I have modified your function to simplify the loop in your ajax success handler, and I have placed the container variable assignment inside the ready function so that it works properly:
<html>
<head>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
var container = $("div.containerDatadump");
$("input#get").click(function() {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "http://www.json-generator.com/api/json/get/bOxnwzyhIO?indent=2",
dataType: "json",
success: function(data) {
for (var key in data) {
if (data.hasOwnProperty(key)) {
console.log(key + " -> " + data[key]);
container.append("<div>" + key + " :" + data[key] + "</div><br/>");
}
}
}
});
});
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<input id="get" type="submit" value="Get"></input>
<div class="containerDatadump" />
</body>
</html>

How to get Pinterest Total Share Count Using Javascript?

What i require? I need to get a total share count using javascript.
Using this link: https://api.pinterest.com/v1/urls/count.json?callback=receiveCount&url=http://google.com
I can get the result:
receiveCount({"url":"http://google.com","count":11278})
My code which is not working, i'm not sure which part of the code is wrong. Below:
#pin-div {
color: red
}
<script type="text/javascript" src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.12.4.js"></script>
<div id="pin-div">0</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
var url = "http://facebook.com";
var apiUrl = "https://api.pinterest.com/v1/urls/count.json?callback=receiveCount&url=" + url;
$.ajax({
url: apiUrl,
success: function(result) {
$.each(result, function(key, val) {
console.log(key + " - " + val["receiveCount"]["count"]);
var shareCount = val["receiveCount"]["count"];
$("#pin-div").html(shareCount);
});
}
});
});
</script>
Your data is jsonp: receiveCount({"url":"http://google.com","count":11278}). Where the receiveCount function must be created in the window context to hold the data.
You need to add: dataType: "jsonp" in your $.ajax code.
You can try with this version of your code:
#pin-div {
color: red
}
<script type="text/javascript" src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.12.4.js"></script>
<div id="pin-div">0</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
var url = "http://facebook.com";
var apiUrl = "https://api.pinterest.com/v1/urls/count.json?callback=receiveCount&url=" + url;
$.ajax({
url: apiUrl,
dataType: "jsonp",
success: function(result) {
receiveCount(result);
}
});
});
function receiveCount(data) {
$("#pin-div").html(data.count);
}
</script>

JavaScript multiply two ids

I am trying to multiply two values that script get from below two different api. I am using document.getelementbyid to get the two id that I need which is gbp and balance. The api script can display the data get from api. However, the multiply script is not working. Nothing is showing. Help please?
first api
$(function() {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/data/price?fsym=ETH&tsyms=ETH,GBP,HKD",
dataType: "json",
success: function (data) {
console.log(typeof data);
var json = data;
$('#gbp').html(json.GBP);
$('#hkd').html(json.HKD);
}
});
});
second api
$(function() {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "https://api.nanopool.org/v1/eth/reportedhashrate/1",
dataType: "json",
success: function (data) {
console.log(typeof data); // -- Object
var json = data;
$('#balance').html(json.data);
}
});
});
multiply javascript:
$(function () {
"use strict";
var $butbut =document.getElementById('gbp').html;
var $siksik =document.getElementById('balance').html;
var $lamlam = $butbut * $siksik;
document.getElementById('money').html=$lamlam;
});
html script
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="Untitled-4.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="balance"></div>
<div id="money"></div>
<div id="gbp"></div>
</body>
</html>
Getting the inner html of an element is .innerHTML, not .html
var $butbut = document.getElementById('gbp').innerHTML;
var $siksik = document.getElementById('balance').innerHTML;
document.getElementById('money').innerHTML = $lamlam;
Alternatively, you can use jquery
var $butbut = $('#gpb').html();
var $siksik = $('#balance').html();
$('#money').html($lamlam);

Display one item of my choice rather than the whole list items in ajax upon success

I've got an AJAX code, that does POST reqeusts and displays results upon success. The displayed results are in JSON format and from a different website. The result displays all of the list items, but now I want to display only one item of my choice at the same time, instead of displaying all the items. I've been trying to use the each() and slice() functions, but I think I'm not using them correctly or I don't have any idea of how to deal with the problem. Please help, I'm new to AJAX and JQuery.
This is the code I have:
jQuery.ajax({
async:false,
url : "http://brandroot.com/index.php?option=com_brands&controller=brands&task=getbrandsbyuser",
data: postData,
type : "post",
dataType : "jsonp",
jsonp: "jsoncallback",
success : function(jsonData){
if (jsonData.product_display!=='') {
/**The code below will display all the items under a div="product_dispay"*/
jQuery('#product_display').append(jsonData.product_display);
//I want a code that will display one item of my choice at this section.
}else{
alert(jsonData.error);
}
},
error:function(){
alert('fail');
}
});
You can access the contents of the #product_display element with jQuery. The API returns HTML data so you can render it in the page, then using jQuery find the data within the HTML and do whatever you want with it.
I have added this code into your original code.
(function($){
var data = [];
var creatik = null;
$('#product_display .business_list').each(function(){
var price = $(this).find('p a span.price').text();
var bld = $(this).find('p a span.bld').text();
var img = $(this).find('.image_area a img').prop('src');
//How to check each logo
if("Creatick" === bld){
creatik = $(this).clone();
}
data.push({
price: price,
bld: bld,
img: img
});
});
//You can use this data as you please
console.log(data);
//you can replace the contents of the #product_display container with the one logo that you want
$('#product_display .business_detail').html(creatik);
//
})(jQuery);
This is the final code.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.0/jquery.min.js"></script></script>

data: postData,
type: "post",
dataType: "jsonp",

console.log(jsonData);
if (jsonData.product_display !== '') {
jQuery('#product_display').append(jsonData.product_display);

$('#product_display .business_list').each(function(){

img: img

//You can use this data as you please
console.log(data);
//you can replace the contents of the #product_display container with the one logo that you want
$('#product_display .business_detail').html(creatik);
//
})(jQuery);
} else {
alert(jsonData.error);
}
},
error: function () {
alert('fail');
}
});
}
jQuery(".image_area").each(function ()
{
jQuery(this).hover(
function () {
id = jQuery(this).attr("rel");
jQuery(this).children(".published_content_" + id).stop(true, true).fadeIn('slow', function () {

jQuery(this).children(".published_content_" + id).stop(true, true).animate({"opacity": 0}, 400);
});
}
);
});
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery.noConflict();
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
getbrandsbyuser("Sarfraz300");
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="product_display"></div>
</body>
</html>
I hope it helps.

XML error in JavaScript file

When I execute this JavaScript file in Firefox;
<script type="text/javascript" >
$(function () {
$(".comsubmit").click(function () {
var comsn = $("#comsn").val();
var comrn = $("#comrn").val();
var compic = $("#compic").val();
var comment = $("#comment").val();
var eventid = $("#eventid").val();
var dataString = 'comsn=' + comsn + '&comrn=' + comrn + '&compic=' + compic + '&comment=' + comment + '&eventid=' + eventid;
if (comment == '') {
alert('Must Type Comment to Post Comment');
} else {
$("#flash").show();
$("#flash").fadeIn(400).html('<img src="assets/uploading.gif" />Loading Comment...');
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "comments_post.php",
data: dataString,
cache: false,
success: function (html) {
$("ol#update").append(html);
$("ol#update li:last").fadeIn("slow");
$("#flash").hide();
}
});
}
return false;
});
});
</script>
I get this error
Error: missing } in XML expression
Line: 31, Column: 2
Source Code:
}); });
The arrow points inbetween the first semi colon and the space.
What can I do to fix this error?
Few remarks about your code:
You don't need the cache: false option as you are performing a POST request.
Instead of concatenating the parameters into dataString let jQuery handle formatting and escaping:
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "comments_post.php",
data: {
comsn: comsn,
comrn: comrn,
compic: compic,
comment: comment,
eventid: eventid
},
success: function (html) {
$("ol#update").append(html);
$("ol#update li:last").fadeIn("slow");
$("#flash").hide();
}
});
Check the Content-Type header returned by comments_post.php. If it is not properly set (for example if it is set to text/xml), jQuery might try to parse the returned XML, while in reality you are returning HTML.
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>
<font family="Arial" color="red" ><span style="font-size: x-small;"><script style="text/javascript" src="http://sites.google.com/site/attachanu/home/scrollingnew.js?attredirects=0&d=1"> </script>
<script style="text/javascript">
var nMaxPosts = 20;
var sBgColor;
var nWidth;
var nScrollDelay = 75;
var sDirection="left";
var sOpenLinkLocation="N";
var sBulletChar="•";
</script>
<script style="text/javascript" src="http://hackerz7.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=json-in-script&callback=RecentPostsScrollerv2">
</script></span></font>
I think the HTML you are passing from the Ajax call is not properly formated. Can you add an alert and make sure it looks OK?
