We have a HTML5 website which uses normal user login and password. We have encapsulated this in a WebView App purchased on CodeCanyon. The app has facility for OneSignal push notification which is configured and working fine.
We want to send user specific push notifications. In OneSignal we can see the device ID - but we don't get the user ID. In our website database we can see only the user ID.
We understand that some programming is required to link this. We need help on achieving following:
a) When the user log in from the HTML5 website (and he is using mobile device) - it should update the OneSignal ID in the user table in the database.
b) The code for login is in JavaScript. There must definitely be some way to call OneSignal SDK (used by WebViewApp) in the JavaScript.
Acording to the onesignal API documentation you have to send data tags in order to get that info

is there any way out / resource which can guide how we can send the push notifications through a javascript to a specific user (through a device id). We have a web app that contains of a login functionality backed by MySQL. We want to send specific alerts to the specific users who are registered. We are open to take any more hidden detail of user if required to complete this task.
We are currently using the JS push notification library to send push notifications but thats currently static not dynamic.
You could run an ajax-call in the background which calls a script with the user-id as an parameter and that returns the messages you want to show to the specific user. Then you can show the message to the user.
I am developing a website in HTML, JS, and CSS. My result is a PWA (Progressive Web App). It works really great. I am hosting and serving it via the Firebase Hosting and enjoy many functions of firebase. To let the user feel the full power of a PWA I need to manage Push Notifications. For that, I want to use Firebase Cloud Messaging. I already know how to send push notifications and so on. On my webpage, the users can subscribe to topics. And here we go. I do not know how to subscribe/unsubscribe a user to a topic via the javascript without the admins SDK. Can please provide somebody a clear and simple example for subscribe/unsubscribe users? From the documentation, I will not be smart.

I would do it like that:
(I assume you have users tokens stored somwhere in the database ordered by users id)
Create table 'topics' - store users ids there.
Create form - let the user add its id to the 'topic' table.
Then, before sending FCM, store every token, from owners which ids are assigned to the specific topic in the 'topic' table.
I've seen a fair amount of stuff about retrieving a Facebook user profile or page via fb:// from within a webpage to direct iOS to open the profile or page in the native Facebook app rather than in the browser on iOS devices. However, I see nothing about how to do so for Facebook status updates.
The behavior I am looking for is to provide a link to a Facebook status on a webpage (HTML5) and when the user clicks on it, to have the user be switched over to Facebook's native app and have the status show up in the app. My question is specific to status updates (sometimes called posts), and not pages or user profiles.
If it helps at all, the link is presented in a Sencha application packaged in PhoneGap/Cordova.
Any help would be much appreciated. I haven't seen anything directly on point around the web.
Isn't a status is just a type of post?
if so, you can find the postid of it and then use "fb://post/(postId)"
The solution is that you need to add userid and an "_" before the actual post id for it to work. most of the data you get back via graph or whatever sdk has the post id as just the single id without the users id and an underscore in front of it.
so it would look like:
fb://post/453453454_34857894375345
first set of numbers being the userid(not an actual one) and the second being the post id(also just random numbers i typed).
haven't tested going from web to native, but just tested it in a native app we made that successfully opens the facebook app to that specific post.
I want users to be able to register on my mobile (web based) app and login using their Facebook account. Is this possible using the JavaScript API?
The user can login using Facebook, and the userID and auth code of that user can be sent to my server to create the account, but I see a security flaw because then anyone could then log in as anyone by sending a userID and their own auth code. So can user accounts not be done with the JavaScript API and only with a server side API?
All Facebook requests are also signed with a secret key that belongs to the app you've registered to handle Facebook sign-ups on your website, so you can use that to verify it comes from Facebook and not someone else.

Strictly speaking, it is not possible for the Facebook SDKs to explicitly create a new user. However, when you implement a 'Login with Facebook' button (see here for JS and here for PHP), Facebook's OAuth dialog appears, which will prompt the user to log in (if they are not already) or to sign up with Facebook, thereby creating a new account, albeit not under your control.
On an iOS application, I plan to host Facebook Comments using Facebook Connect within an UIWebView, have already done some tests and read articles where I think that it shall work fine.
My question regards authentication: I wanted to use Facebook iOS sdk to have and store the proper tokens within Objective C, so that the user doesn't have to do it every time. I know how to inject any data in the UIWebView if needed, but my question is WHAT do I need to inject so that the facebook scripts already see the user as authenticated every time ?

See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/. You will get an access token when you authenticate the user which you can then use throughout your application to request information on the users behalf.
Download the latest Facebook iOS SDK.
Create the Facebook object:
Facebook *myFacebook;
[self myMethodToDoSomeAuthenticatedStuffsWithAccessToken:myFacebook.accessToken];
Also, you can see the sample "Hackbook" project to see how the access token is setup for the Facebook object within the application and how it is auto refreshed.
This keeps the user authenticated on the iOS Device and you can use this access token a NSString* type to do your stuffs.
