I have a mute button that simply mute a HTML5 audio object. It does mute the track but I like to add a fade in/out effect.
I tried it by adding audio.animate({volume: 0}, 2000); but its not working.
Any idea?

The audio object should be a JQuery-object in order to use the JQuery .animate() function. You can do that by changing audio.animate to $(audio).animate.
Also the audio.muted = ... statements turn off/on the music instantly, so you won't hear the animations.

I need to edit it in such a way as to play multiple mp3 files one by one in a defined order and stop only when the last audio has played.

You can register an event handler for the audio tag, that first when the current file has finished;

If you have a list of tracks to play in an array, then simply play the next one after the current track has finished. Using the setTimeout function you can put in a delay between the tracks. A simple example is as follows;

Note that cowbell track is 52 seconds long, so if your testing the above (for your own sanity) set the controls property to the audio tag so you can skip through most of it.
The following script is playing a soundfile when i click on a img (onclick). How do i pause it by clicking on the same img? I´ve tried audio.pause(), but it won´t work.

You should rename your function to audioHandler() for example which will handle whether to play or pause your audio.
Create a boolean to remember if your audio was playing or was on pause.

this is the simplest way. it would probably be better to do it with css psuedo classes, but i leave this pleasure to you if you care enough

I'm looking to restart an audio file in a HTML5 audio player. I have defined a audio file and a play button.

When I click the play button the audio file starts playing, but when I click the button again the audio file doesn't stop and will not play again until it reaches the end of the file.
