I use Foundation 6 and now I got the problem.
There are 2 tabs "entrance" & "registration" into modal window "authorization".
I want to make such thing "If you fill inputs for example in "registration" tab but don't push button and go over to "entrance" tab, inputs in "registration" tab should be clear".
I wrote this code and tried it but it is not working
$("#authorization-tab-link").click(function(){
$("#register-alert").removeClass("callout alert success").empty();
$("#email-register-input").val("");
$("#name-register-input").val("");
$("#first-password-register-input").val("");
$("#second-password-register-input").val("");
});
I did the same by using bootstrap and it is working. That's odd.
I don't know why <a> .click() is not handling.
According to the Foundation6 Documentation, you can use an event to do this:
$(document).on('change.zf.tabs',function(){
$("#register-alert").removeClass("callout alert success").empty();
$("#email-register-input").val("");
$("#name-register-input").val("");
$("#first-password-register-input").val("");
$("#second-password-register-input").val("");
});
Normally this should work. If not, try the .on() on your Tab element. e.g.:
$('#my-tab-wrapper').on('change.zf.tabs',function(){ /* do stuff here */ });
EDIT:
$('#my-tab-wrapper').on('change.zf.tabs', function(e, target){
});
Check what the target var returns and build an if/else. This should work .

Hi I am implementing roundabout with 5 images using roundabout.js that is shown here
http://fredhq.com/projects/roundabout/demos/standard
So I want to know current front image so that i can implement some trigger whenever user click on it. I don't want to enable trigger when user clicks on the images shown behind the front image.
Trigger is launched only for front images and natural behavior happens for rest of the images at back.
I tried using roundabout_startChildren() function in my Html file but not able to know how to exactly use this function.
NOTE:- i have never used this plugin so please instead of down voting the answer correct me if you think i have misunderstood your problem
here is the DEMO
switch the click off for all movable elements as the page loads and on it when the clicked element hasClass roundabout-in-focus and then animateToNextChild
$('ul').roundabout()
$('ul li').off('click');
$('.roundabout-moveable-item').click(function(e){
if($(this).hasClass('roundabout-in-focus'))
{
$(this).on('click')
$('ul').roundabout("animateToNextChild")
}
})
EDIT as per the requirement mentioned in comment
DEMO
$('ul').roundabout()
$('.roundabout-moveable-item').click(function(e){
if($(this).hasClass('roundabout-in-focus'))
{
window.open('http://www.google.com')
//use --window.location="http://www.google.com"-- to open in same window
}
})
I hope someone can help. I am missing some logic and styles while I am running the form in JQuery modal window with the 'modal' property is set to 'true'. I am trying to utilize the form from http://jqueryui.com/dialog/#modal-form.
The same code used outside modal window is running correctly. I am not sure how to fix it and decided to share it with you.
I created a page in JSFiddle - http://jsfiddle.net/vladc77/GcQRg/16 to show the code. However, the modal window cannot be ran from there. As a result, I uploaded the same test in here - http://www.vladcdesign.com/modalWindow
When I set (modal: true) then I am getting the following problems.
1.The check boxes in work hours form should enable/disable menus to set the time
2.“More” check box should show/hide a text field
3.I lost ability to set margins between elements in Hours settings form. Now all menus are touching each other even though I use margins styles. They just don’t apply.
All of these issues are present only while I run this DIV in a modal window. It works OK outside the modal window. I am wondering if someone can help and explain what is wrong with the code. Any advice is highly appreciated.
Looking at both the fiddle and the example you posted on your site, you're getting the following error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: closedHours is not defined
The problem appears to be coming from this line:
$(this).append(' <span class="closed custom-checkbox"><input type="checkbox" name="closed" value="closed" class="closed" id="closedHoursElement" onchange="closedHours()"><span class="box"><span class="tick"></span></span></span>Closed');
Also, the reason you can't get the dialog to load on your fiddle is that you're including the JS files in the wrong order. It should be jquery, jquery ui, and then jquery ui.selectmenu.
Your change function on the checkboxes also has a bug, it should be something like this:
$('input[type=checkbox]').change(function() {
if (!this.checked) {
$(this).parent().siblings('select').removeAttr("disabled");
}
else {
$(this).parent().siblings('select').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
}
});
Even when I changed all that, the checkboxes still weren't working, so I removed your custom jquery and jquery ui references. When I did that, they worked fine so something that you've done to customize those is what's causing your problem. You can view my changes here.
The first $(document).ready(function(){}); and second $(function() { }); are the same, the code will be executed in order they are in these blocks.
However the $(window).load(function(){ }); is a little bit differenet, it gets executed later. Check this post to see the difference.
You could experminet a little with defining the click event to your "Open modal window" button, and do all of the binding when that fires:
$('#create-user').bind('click',function(e){
// To avoid navigating by link
e.preventDefault();
e.stopPropagation();
// Do every binding / appending
// $('.workDayHours').each(function() { ...
});
Suppose you have a lightbox, and you want to allow the user to middle-click, which would open a new tab, and the same content that shows-up in the lightbox on left-click is now on a standlone page (complete with header, sidebar, etc).
Anybody have a snippet or technique handy they can share?
Otherwise the technique I was going to try first was just to add a conventional href to the link, then add a click handler that cancels the default action on left click. I think this'll work but I'm not sure so honestly it was easier to pound out a question than to write it up and test it in the 14 browser/os combinations I have to support.
I finally found time to work this out and it was pretty easy:
This is how I made it work using jQuery & FancyBox:
Give your desired link a 'has-overlay' class and give it a custom attribute that will tell it what it should load in the overlay
Login
Be sure you have the overlay code available (this is standard FancyBox stuff)
<div class="hidden" id="loginform"> <!-- Form Goes Here --> </div>
And put this snippet in your on ready event:
$('.has-overlay').bind('click', function(e) {
var overlay = $(this).attr('overlay');
$('').fancybox().trigger('click');
return false;
})
When a user left-clicks, this 'click' handler will be called. It will load the overlay and then return 'false' so the browser won't follow the href in the link.
When a user middle-clicks or right-clicks, the click handler doesn't fire, and it works as a normal link would.
I am using jQuery to have a promotional window opening up -say- 5 seconds after a page is loaded. But the effect is lost for people who open the page in a new window or a new tab. When they get to my tab the window will already be open.
Is there a way to get this to fire when people actually start viewing my site?
I was thinking about catching a scroll or something, but people don't get started scrolling immediately and most won't scroll at all. Other than that I am out of ideas.
I am not sure if jQuery offers a solution here... javascript?
Thanks.
the following should do the trick .. (jQuery)
<script type="text/javascript">
function initiatePopup(){
$(window).unbind('blur');
$(window).unbind('focus');
// do the popup
};
$(document).ready(
function(){
$(window).focus( initiatePopup ).blur( initiatePopup );
// your other functions should go from here on
}
);
</script>
[EDIT] on OP request..
code edited to make the example all inclusive
[EDIT 2]
The code above has been edited again because we need to handle the blur event as well.. so we take the code for the popup somewhere else in order to not duplicate it inside both events..
[EDIT 3]
if you want to pass parameters to the popup if they are created later on, then change the event binding line to
$(window).focus( function() { initiatePopup(params); } ).blur( function() { initiatePopup(params); );
and of course change the initiatePopup to accept parameters ..
Would putting a div around everything work with an onmouseover event listener? I've never tried it, so I'm not sure whether that would fire or not, but it might be worth a shot.
First of all, here is the site I am working on.
I am trying to get a modal window to pop-up when elements in the Flash are clicked on. Which at this point I have about 90% working when you click on the warrior image. Below is a list of issues I am still trying to solve that I hope you can help me with...
The modal background doesn't fill up
the whole page like it should.
I cannot get the close button to work
I need to set the vidname variable in
both the Flash and Java to load in a
dynamic HTML file. Depending on which
image is clicked on. My naming
convention will probably be something
like vid-1.html, vid-2.html, etc.
If you need to look at the .js file you can view it at /cmsjs/jquery.ha.js
Below is the ActionScript I currently have...
var vidname = "modal.html";
peeps.vid1.onRelease = function() {
getURL('javascript:loadVid(\'' + vidname + '\');');
};
Well I have one for you.
Your current close code is
$('#modalBG, #modalClose').click(function(){
closeModal();
});
If you click the background after a video loads you'll see that the modal does close. The reason your close button does not work is because #modalClose does not exist in the DOM when you are binding to the click function.
You need to either rebind the modalClose element when you modify the DOM or use live. If you use live you just need to change your click code to this:
$('#modalBG, #modalClose').live("click", (function(){
closeModal();
});
