I am getting these errors shown below after defining the URL routes - following the sportsStore app from an AngularJS book for learning purposes.
Error: [$injector:unpr] Unknown provider: $templateRequestProvider <- $templateRequest <- $route <- ngViewDirective
Error: [$injector:cdep] Circular dependency found: ngViewDirective
I've read all the posts related to this type of error and I checked the versions of the angular.js and angular-route.js to be the same (the last stable version).
I've read also the documentation on the AngularJS API and make sure that the causes described there are not the case.
I don't know what to do next since it is impossible for me to understand the error from the browser's developer tools shown in the image. Please point me to the right direction.
Here is the app.html where the routes are defined to display the specific views:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="sportsStore">
<head>
<title>SportsStore</title>
<script src="angular.js"></script>
<link href="bootstrap.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<link href="bootstrap-theme.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<script>
angular.module("sportsStore", ["customFilters", "cart", "ngRoute"])
.config(function($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when("/checkout", {
templateUrl: "/views/checkoutSummary.html"
});
$routeProvider.when("/products", {
templateUrl: "/views/productList.html"
});
$routeProvider.otherwise({
templateUrl: "/views/productList.html"
});
});
</script>
<script src="controllers/sportsStore.js"></script>
<script src="filters/customFilters.js"></script>
<script src="controllers/productListControllers.js"></script>
<script src="components/cart/cart.js"></script>
<script src="ngmodules/angular-route.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="sportsStoreCtrl">
<div class="navbar navbar-inverse">
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">SPORTS STORE</a>
<cart-summary />
</div>
<div class="alert alert-danger" ng-show="data.error">
Error ({{data.error.status}}). The product data was not loaded.
Click here to try again
</div>
<ng-view />
</body>
</html>
Without changing the code I have another error. This is so strange:
Your writing your routes before loading your angular-route.js file. So you need to move your routes between <script></script> to the end.
This will solve your problem.
Move
<script>
angular.module("sportsStore", ["customFilters", "cart", "ngRoute"])
.config(function($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when("/checkout", {
templateUrl: "/views/checkoutSummary.html"
});
$routeProvider.when("/products", {
templateUrl: "/views/productList.html"
});
$routeProvider.otherwise({
templateUrl: "/views/productList.html"
});
});
</script>
to the end of the 'head', cause angular and ngRoute still are not loaded.
Better to keep scripts at the bottom of 'body'
#uamanager showed me the solution -> to remove the '/' right before the views in the templateUrl
<script>
angular.module("sportsStore", ["customFilters", "cart", "ngRoute"])
.config(function ($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when("/checkout", {
templateUrl: "views/checkoutSummary.html"
});
$routeProvider.when("/products", {
templateUrl: "views/productList.html"
});
$routeProvider.otherwise({
templateUrl: "views/productList.html"
});
});
</script>
change your syntax for your route provider, you only need one $routeProvider
$routeProvider
.when('/Book/:bookId', {
templateUrl: 'book.html',
controller: 'BookController',
})
.when('/Book/:bookId/ch/:chapterId', {
templateUrl: 'chapter.html',
controller: 'ChapterController'
});

Error: ng:areq Bad Argument
Argument 'activeOrderController' is not aNaNunction, got undefined
Description
AngularJS often asserts that certain values will be present and truthy using a helper function. If the assertion fails, this error is thrown. To fix this problem, make sure that the value the assertion expects is defined and truthy.
Try removing empty space between ng-app and "=".
ng-app="mainApp"
Also, create two controllers you refer in route config.
You had wrong redirect statement & you had two routes with same statement /viewStudents name.
otherwise({
redirectTo: '/viewStudents'
});
Also you have to define all the controllers which are mention there on each route
mainApp.controller('activeOrderController', function(){
//console.log('I am activeOrderController')
})
mainApp.controller('addOrderController', function(){
//console.log('I am addOrderController')
})
mainApp.controller('endedOrderController', function(){
//console.log('I am endedOrderController')
})
I am just setting up a simple Angular app as I've done countless times. I added a home state and a separate state for a note taking app, yet neither states are displaying/injecting the html partials into the ui-view. I think it might be an issue with my ui-router setup, but I cannot find the issue. I console log from my controllers and they trigger correctly, so the states are clearly pointing to the right controllers.

My home state should load a partial containing:

Plunker
http://plnkr.co/edit/ngHYDtx0VBe2YPlBeJ3t?p=preview
It has to be
templateUrl: './home.html',
Also, it is not desirable to use relative paths for templates, './home.html' and 'home.html' will be cached internally as two different templates.
I am trying to modularize the implementation of an angular js project. I am aiming to implement different controllers in their own js files. But that doesnt seem to work.
The following is my config.js ( where the primary module is also defined )
(function() {
var app= angular.module("spa", [
//oob angular modules
//3rd party modules
'ui.router',
'ui.bootstrap'
]);
app.config(['$stateProvider', '$urlRouterProvider', configRoutes]);
//function to config the routes
function configRoutes($stateProvider, $urlRouterProvider) {
$stateProvider
.state('dashboard', {
url: '/',
templateUrl: '../App/Views/dashboard.html',
controller: 'dashboardController',
controllerAs: 'vm'
})
.state('supplier', {
url: '/suppliers',
templateUrl: '../App/Views/supplier.html',
controller: 'supplierController',
controllerAs: 'vm'
})
.state('event', {
url: '/events',
templateUrl: '../App/Views/event.html',
controller: 'eventController',
controllerAs: 'vm'
})
.state('partner', {
url: '/partners',
templateUrl: '../App/Views/partner.html',
controller: 'partnerController',
controllerAs: 'vm'
})
$urlRouterProvider.otherwise('/');
}
app.controller('dashboardController', dashboardController)
function dashboardController() {
alert('dashboard-same function');
}
}());`
the dashboardController triggers fine. But other controllers, written in seperate files dont trigger.
(function () {
'use strict';
var app = angular.module('spa');
app.controller('eventController', eventController);
function eventController() {
alert('event');
}
});

As per my comment, you forgot to execute the wrapping function of eventController.js. It should be
(function () {
'use strict';
var app = angular.module('spa');
app.controller('eventController', eventController);
function eventController() {
alert('event');
}
})();
//^^--------You forgot these
If it doesn't work after said fix, please create a fiddle from your local code instead of the fiddle code to prevent any typo errors and I will take a look.
Also I don't see routes.js in your html, or maybe you meant config.html.
Not completely sure what is going wrong on your side, but here is an example of how I do it:
For example I am using the following setup for modularizing my AngularJS app (v1.3.6):
index.html:
<html>
<head>
<title>Modularize</title>
<!-- load module -->
<script src="app/app.js"></script>
<script src="app/app.constant.js"></script>
<script src="app/app.config.js"></script>
<script src="app/app.run.js"></script>
<!-- load controllers/services/directives/factories -->
<script src="app/controllers/MyController.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<!-- REST OF THE APP -->
</body>
</html>
app.js
var myapp = angular.module('spa', ['ui.router']);
app.constant.js
myapp.constant(function () {
});
app.config.js
myapp.config(function ($stateProvider) {
$stateProvider
.state('home', {
url: '/home',
templateUrl: 'app/views/home.html',
controller: 'MyController',
});
});
app.run.js
myApp.run(function () {
});
MyController.js
myapp.controller('MyController', function ($scope) {
});
I am using angularjs to make a MVC web application...But it gives an error when i'm opening it on internet explorer... But I don't receive an error in other browsers and views are not loading either when click on the links.

I have attached my angular model below. Please help me to solve this.
app.js
//Define an angular module for our app
var sampleApp = angular.module('sampleApp', []);
sampleApp.config(['$routeProvider',
function ($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.
when('/', {
templateUrl: 'templates/homeContent.html',
controller: 'AddOrderController'
}).
when('/AddNewOrder', {
templateUrl: 'templates/add_order.html',
controller: 'AddOrderController'
}).
when('/ShowOrders', {
templateUrl: 'templates/show_orders.html',
controller: 'ShowOrdersController'
}).
when('/players', {
templateUrl: 'templates/playersMen.html',
controller: 'ShowOrdersController'
}).
otherwise({
redirectTo: '/'
});
}]);
sampleApp.controller('AddOrderController', function ($scope) {
$scope.message = 'This is Add new order screen';
});
sampleApp.controller('ShowOrdersController', function ($scope) {
$scope.message = 'This is Show orders screen';
});
you are inject $routeProvider
please make sure you loaded:
angular-route.js
cdn:
https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.27/angular-route.js
when u loaded,then
add dependency to your app with ngRoute
angular.module('app', ['ngRoute']);
Firstly you have to inject 'ngRoute' in your angular module in the way:
var sampleApp = angular.module('sampleApp', ['ngRoute']);
Another thing is include angular-route.js in your index.html file
This will resolve your problem
Your module is missing ngRoute dependency.Make sure first you add angular-route.min.js
Then added ngRoute dependency inside your app
Your app should look like below.
var sampleApp = angular.module('sampleApp', ['ngRoute']);
Add script reference to html exact after angular.min.js
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.27/angular-route.js"></script>
Hope this is helpful to you.
My answer to another case with similar error, if you do not VS2015 US cord that will find it: references the Angular after platformOverrides.js
<body>
<div class="app">
<p id="deviceready" class="event">Connecting to Device</p>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="cordova.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/platformOverrides.js"</script>
<script src="angular/angular.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/index.js"></script>
</body>
I would like to add new page into default ionic app with tabbed menu and display this page as the default page of the app.
Here is how I tried to do that:
I added new state into app.js
.state('home', {
url: '/home',
views: {
'home': {
templateUrl: 'templates/home.html',
controller: 'HomeCtrl'
}
}
})
and set default router to home page
$urlRouterProvider.otherwise('/home');
And template file:
<ion-view title="Home">
<ion-content class="padding">
<h1>Home page</h1>
</ion-content>
</ion-view>
Now, if I am trying to go to http://myapp.loc/index.html#/home I got always black page without content.
What I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for any help.
EDIT:
In order to Error: [ng:areq] Argument 'HomeCtrl' is not a function, got undefined
I'm adding related code.
Added controllers:
angular.module('starter.controllers', [])
.controller('HomeCtrl', function($scope, $location) {
})
.controller('DashCtrl', function($scope) {
})
.controller('FriendsCtrl', function($scope, Friends) {
$scope.friends = Friends.all();
})
.controller('FriendDetailCtrl', function($scope, $stateParams, Friends) {
$scope.friend = Friends.get($stateParams.friendId);
});
Order in index.html is following
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
<script src="js/controllers.js"></script>
<script src="js/controllers/overall_stats.js"></script>
<script src="js/services.js"></script>
I would say, that solution here should be surprisingly simple:
Remove the view name 'home'. In fact change it to '' (empty string)
There is a working plunker with this change?
.state('home', {
url: '/home',
views: {
// instead of this
// 'home': {
// use this
'': {
templateUrl: 'tpl.home.html',
controller: 'HomeCtrl',
}
}
})
Why? Because most likely the index.html would look like this:
<body ng-app="myApp" >
...
<ion-nav-view></ion-nav-view>
</body>
And that means that the view name is "", almost like <ion-nav-view name=""></ion-nav-view>
Check that in action here
EXTEND based on the question extension
if we use ionic-like approach with separated file and module for controllers:
// inside of the index.html
<script src="js/controllers.js"></script>
// the controller.js
angular.module('starter.controllers', [])
We must be sure, that our app.js does contain that module as well:
angular.module('myApp', [
'ionic',
'starter.controllers' // this is a MUST
])
