I have this date in string format:
"05/2016" or "12/2015"
How can I convert the dates above in string format to Date() javascript object?
Date constructor accepts params in next order: year, month, day, hours, minutes, seconds, milliseconds, so simply parse string and pass it into Date constructor.
var data = "05/2016".split('/');
// Add + before year to convert str into number. Decrease second param because month starts from 0..11.
var date = new Date(+data[1],data[0] - 1);
console.log(date);
Also, you can convert your string to format which would be parsed correctly by new Date ( See more about dateString in MDN Date.parse description.
// convert string "05/2016" -> "2016-05"
var dateString = "05/2016".split('/').reverse().join('-');
var date = new Date(dateString);
console.log(date);
The previous answers are not correct - they get either the month or the year wrong. This is right (see the comment by Frédéric Hamidi)

You can split string to get an array then use Date constructor.
new Date(year, month[, day[, hour[, minutes[, seconds[, milliseconds]]]]]);
var str = "12/2015";
var arr = str.split('/');
var date = new Date(parseInt(arr[1], 10), parseInt(arr[0], 10) - 1)

I have a ngbDatePicker which helps me to pick a date. Then it returns an object like this:
{year:2020,month:12,day:03}
I'd like to get an ISOString of this date with today's time(current). So if time is 18:42 I should be able to get something like this:
2020-12-03T18:42:00.000Z
To do that I parsed object and made date firstly
(model is the object holds date like above)

Just take the time part of a Date object and combine it with this.model:
var date2 = new Date();
var date = new Date(this.model.year, this.model.month-1, this.model.day,
date2.getHours(), date2.getMinutes(), date2.getSeconds());
var isoDateTime = date.toISOString();
console.log(isoDateTime);
The month parameter is 0 based, so we have to substract 1 from the month.
Result (I chose Dec.1st 2020 in the Datepicker):
2020-12-01T19:22:42.000Z

You can create a single Date for the time and append it to values from the object:

PS the use of leading zeros like 03 for numbers should be avoided as once upon a time that notation indicated octal values (but not any more), so 09 might be confusing.
Can I convert iso date to milliseconds?
for example I want to convert this iso
2012-02-10T13:19:11+0000
to milliseconds.
Because I want to compare current date from the created date. And created date is an iso date.

You've provided an ISO date. It is also accepted by the constructor of the Date object

The best I've found is to get rid of the offset manually.
var myDate = new Date("2012-02-10T13:19:11+0000");
var offset = myDate.getTimezoneOffset() * 60 * 1000;
var withOffset = myDate.getTime();
var withoutOffset = withOffset - offset;
console.log(withOffset);
console.log(withoutOffset);
Seems working. As far as problems with converting ISO string into the Date object you may refer to the links provided.

Fixed the bug with incorrect conversion to milliseconds according to Prasad19sara's comment.
A shorthand of the previous solutions is
var myDate = +new Date("2012-02-10T13:19:11+0000");
It does an on the fly type conversion and directly outputs date in millisecond format.
Another way is also using parse method of Date util which only outputs EPOCH time in milliseconds.
var myDate = Date.parse("2012-02-10T13:19:11+0000");
Another option as of 2017 is to use Date.parse(). MDN's documentation points out, however, that it is unreliable prior to ES5.

Another possible solution is to compare current date with January 1, 1970, you can get January 1, 1970 by new Date(0);

Another solution could be to use Number object parser like this:

This converts to milliseconds just like getTime() on Date object

In case if anyone wants to grab only the Time from a ISO Date, following will be helpful. I was searching for that and I couldn't find a question for it. So in case some one sees will be helpful.

I am reading the date from textbox by using javascript and trying to convert it as Date object.But my problem is date is converting as month and month is converting as date when converting the string to date.

I am not aware of an implementation of the Date.parse() method that accepts two arguments. You can view the Mozilla Date.parse() method description here Date.parse() - JavaScript | MDN.
It might be worth looking at the question/answer of this question for some more information: Why does Date.parse give incorrect results?
The next best option would be to split the date using String.split() and to rearrange the date parts
var dateStr = '03/12/2014 23:05';
var newDateStr = null;
var dateParts = dateStr.split('/');
if (dateParts.length == 3) {
var day = dateParts[0];
var month = dateParts[1];
var yearAndTime = dateParts[2];
// Rearrange the month and day and rejoin the date "12/03/2014 23:05"
newDateStr = [ month, day, yearAndTime].join('/');

This isn't the most elegant solution, but hopefully that helps.

You have the Date.parse method which parses a Date string and returns its timestamp, so you can call new Date().
Something like this:
new Date(Date.parse('03/06/2013'))
Most easy is using the split() function, i think:

I have a string 10/11/2012 meaning November 10, 2012.

Unfortunately, there's no JavaScript Date constructor that allows you to pass in culture information so that it uses localized date formats. Your best bet is to use the constructor that takes the year, month, and day separately:
var parts = dateString.split('/');
var date = new Date(parseInt(parts[2], 10),
parseInt(parts[1], 10),
parseInt(parts[0], 10));
For this specific case, you can use:
var dateparts = date.split("/");
var datestring = dateparts[1] + "/" + dateparts[0] + "/" + dateparts[2];
