I'm creating small shopping-cart program, I'm using following code to input values.
<input type="button" value="Add to Cart : <?php echo $row['PART_NO']; ?>" onclick="addtocart('<?php echo $item; ?>')" />
value goes through following javascript code.
function addtocart(pid){
alert(pid);
document.form1.productid.value=pid;
document.form1.command.value='add';
document.form1.submit();
}
<body>
<form name="form1">
<input type="hidden" name="productid" />
<input type="hidden" name="command" />
</form>
<?php
if ( isset($_REQUEST['command']) && $_REQUEST['command'] == 'add' && $_REQUEST['productid']>0 ){
$pid=$_REQUEST['productid'];
addtocart($pid,1);
header("location:shoppingcart.php");
exit();
}
?>
when I'm inserting productid like 02190249 it goes through javascript code and php code and loading the shoppingcart.php. but inserting productid like PF161202 its not loading the shoppingcart.php. how can I pass values like PF161202 to php code through js.
Remove $_REQUEST['productid']>0 from your php code. It is checking only for numbers(02190249) which is greater then 0 but as per your question you are passing a string(PF161202).
<?php
if ( isset($_REQUEST['command']) && $_REQUEST['command'] == 'add' && ($_REQUEST['productid'] != '')){
$pid=$_REQUEST['productid'];
addtocart($pid,1);
header("location:shoppingcart.php");
exit();
}
?>

HOW to get it?
my code is below, check it. php while loop with html tags

the following is an JAVASCRIPT code for an onsubmit event.
<script>
function likeso()
{
var iage=document.querySelector('input').value;
var val="imagge=" + iage;
alert(val);
}
</script>
If you change the function call by adding event
<form class="likeform" onsubmit="likeso(event)" method="POST" action="likes.php">
And alter the function itself to use the event
function likeso(e)
{
var iage=e.target.querySelector('input').value;
var val="imagge=" + iage;
alert(val);
}
Also, you cannot duplicate ID values so
<input type="hidden" id="imgile" name="imaggg" value="<?php echo $row["img_file"] ?>">
should be changed to ( remove ID, it's not needed )
<input type="hidden" name="imaggg" value="<?php echo $row["img_file"] ?>">
The same holds for any element to which you assign an ID - it MUST be unique. If the purpose of the ID is to facilitate easy selection in Javascript using document.getElementById then having duplicate IDs makes a nonsense of that because which element should it select? Generally you can achieve most tasks without using an ID so in many cass it is best to remove them - especially when added in a loop.
I am using this table and trying to echo the "branchid" in an alert
There are two tables:
orders_address.php
<?php
session_start();
require_once('orders_address.vc.php');
?>
Here is a snippet of my for each table, the 'branchid' and the assign button is only the concern here'
<td>
<a href="order_address.vc.php<?php echo '?branchid='.$rowAddress['branchid']; ?>">
<input type="submit" class="btn button-color-blue font-color-white full_width" name="assign" value="ASSIGN">
</a>
</td>
<td class="table-text-center">
<?php
echo($rowAddress['branchid']);
?>
</td>
orders_address.vc.php
Below is the code when the button is clicked
if (isset($_POST['assign']) && $_POST['assign'] == 'ASSIGN')
{
$branchid = $_GET ['branchid'];
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>alert('$branchid');</script>";
}
Currently I am getting an undefined index and the alert box is empty. the $_GET ['branchid'] does not seem to retrieve the column I want.
Thank you for any help.
<td>
<?php
$branchid = isset($rowAddress['branchid']) ? $rowAddress['branchid'] : 0;
?>
<form method="POST" action="order_address.vc.php">
<input type="hidden" name="branchid" value="<?php echo $branchid ?>" />
<input type="hidden" name="assign" value="ASSIGN" />
<input type="submit" value="ASSIGN" class="btn button-color-blue font-color-white full_width" />
</form>
</td>
<td class="table-text-center">
<?php echo $branchid; ?>
</td>
orders_address.vc.php:
if(isset($_POST['assign']) && $_POST['assign'] === 'ASSIGN') {
echo '<script type="text/javascript">';
echo 'alert('.$_POST['branchid'].')';
echo '</script>';
}
I am not sure why you have a form submit button wrapped around an anchor tag. When the submit tag is clicked I honestly don't know which one takes precedence, the anchor tag or the form submission.
Assuming that you have the table wrapped in an HTML form and a POST request is made. I suggest adding the branchid as the value of the submit button. Ex:
<input type="submit" class="..." name="assign" value="<?=$rowAddress['branchid']?>">
In receiving end you can then get branchid from $_POST['assign']
if (! empty($_POST['assign']))
{
$branchid = $_POST['assign'];
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>alert('$branchid');</script>";
}
Its because you have $_GET['branchid'] in POST handle
if (isset($_POST['assign']) && $_POST['assign'] == 'ASSIGN') ...
But you send it as normal GET a href link so condition with POST is never true.
if (isset($_POST['assign']) && $_POST['assign'] == 'ASSIGN'){
$branchid = $_GET ['branchid'];
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>alert('$branchid');</script>";
}
HTML should be as below:
<form action="order_address.vc.php" method="POST">
<input type="hidden" name="branchid" value="<?php echo $branchid ?>" />
<input type="submit" name="assign" value="ASSIGN" />
</form>
So I've got a regular form
<form action="includes/send.php" method="post" onsubmit="return isValidForm()" />>
<h1>Opgeven workshops</h1>
<label for="name">Voornaam:</label>
<input type="text" autocomplete="off" id="name" name="firstname">
<label class="choice" data-id="1"><input type="checkbox" name="group1" value="use your apple1">use your apple<span class="left" ></span>
</label>---more stuff more stuff more stuff--
Now I submit the form I want to show the information the user filled in in the form like this
$f_name = $_POST['firstname'];
$l_name = $_POST['lastname'];
U hebt zich ingeschreven bij: <br />
Eerste workshop : <?php echo $first; ?><br />
Tweede workshop : <?php echo $second; ?><br />
Klopt dit?
<button type="submit" onclick="send()">Ja</button>
<button type="submit" onclick="noSend()">nee</button>
and when the user clicks on send it sends the information from the previous form to the query to insert it into the database. I'm trying to do this without having to make another 'hidden form' which submits it again because it is unnecessary code when you can just let the script 'wait' and continue with the script / insert functionallity when the button is pressed.
I tried setting a variable $submit= false; and inside the send function (which is in javascript) set submit to true but that doesn't seem to work because it automatically sets the variable to true without pressing the button.
function send(){
<?php $submit = true ?>
var submit = <?php echo $submit ?>;
console.log(submit);
}
if($submit){
echo 'submitted';
} else {
echo 'not true';
}
On your php side pass the values when calling your Javascript 'send()' function
<?php
$first = "First course";
$second = "Second course";
?>
U hebt zich ingeschreven bij: <br />
Eerste workshop : <?php echo $first; ?><br />
Tweede workshop : <?php echo $second; ?><br />
Klopt dit?
<!-- pass the required values into the function, this is just a basic implementation you could also use a loop to fill in the values -->
<button type="button" onclick="send(true, '<?php echo $first ?>', '<?php echo $second ?>')">
Ja
</button>
<button type="button" onclick="send(false)">
nee
</button>
For the receiving function you could implement something like this
<script type="text/javascript">
function send(submit){
//Get all arguments passed except the first variable, the submit boolean
var listOfVariablesToPost = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments,1);
if(submit){
console.log("post");
console.log(listOfVariablesToPost);
/* Do POST here either by using XMLHttpRequest or jQuery AJAX/POST (Or any other way you like)*/
/* XMLHttpRequest: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9713058/sending-post-data-with-a-xmlhttprequest */
/* jQuery POST https://api.jquery.com/jquery.post/ */
}else{
console.log("No post")
/* Don't post and do whatever you need to do otherwise */
}
}
</script>
This is a very simple implementation, but I hope it helps.
I have a php page with 2 submit buttons and 2 radio buttons:
<?php
$choiceIdx = 1;
$language = 'English';
if($_GET)
{
if(isset( $_GET['choice'] ))
{
$choiceIdx = $_GET['choice'];
}
if(isset( $_GET['language'] ))
{
$language = $_GET['language'];
}
}
?>
<form method="get">
<button type='submit' name='choice' value='1'>Choice1</button>
<button type='submit' name='choice' value='2'>Choice2</button>
<input id="English" type="radio" name="language" value="English" <?php echo ($language=='English')?'checked':'' ?> onchange="this.form.submit();" />
<label for="English">English</label>
<input id="Slovenian" type="radio" name="language" value="Slovenian" <?php echo ($language=='Slovenian')?'checked':'' ?> onchange="this.form.submit();" />
<label for="Slovenian">Slovenian</label>
</form>
If I click on Slovenian radio button, I get:
http://localhost/index.php?language=Slovenian
If I then click on Choice2 submit button, "language" is saved and I get:
http://localhost/index.php?choice=2&language=Slovenian
If I then click on English radio button, "choice" is not saved and I get:
http://localhost/index.php?language=English
This is my first php page and after hours of googling i added this line:
<input type="hidden" name="choice" value="<?php echo $choiceIdx; ?>">
The "choice" is now saved, but i get:
http://localhost/index.php?choice=1&language=Slovenian&choice=2
I don't want it twice in url. Please explain what i am doing wrong. Thank you!
EDIT: I want to use GET (and not POST) because the URL has to be saved as a bookmark.
Here is an alternate version (as a followup to my first answer) that updates the hidden value when clicking the choice-button:
<script>
function setChoice(val) {
document.getElementById('hiddenChoice').value=val;
}
</script>
<form method="get">
<button type='submit' onClick="setChoice(1);">Choice1</button>
<button type='submit' onClick="setChoice(2);">Choice2</button>
<input type='hidden' id='hiddenChoice' name='choice' value='<?php echo $choiceIdx; ?>'>
<input id="English" type="radio" name="language" value="English" <?php echo ($language=='English')?'checked':'' ?> onchange="this.form.submit();" />
<label for="English">English</label>
<input id="Slovenian" type="radio" name="language" value="Slovenian" <?php echo ($language=='Slovenian')?'checked':'' ?> onchange="this.form.submit();" />
<label for="Slovenian">Slovenian</label>
</form>
If you have more values to retrieve you might want to create a more sofisticated and less specific js-function. You could easily pass in the id of the target input f.e.
Also you should rethink if it's realy neccessary to always submit the form, or if it might be better to first collect all the data and only send one form back to the server.
Add that to your form:
<input type='hidden' name='choiceStored' value='<?php echo $choiceIdx; ?>'>
This will store the last received val for choice and re-send it at the next form submit.
and change your php to:
$choiceIdx = 1;
$language = 'English';
if($_GET)
{
// eighter get new value
if(isset( $_GET['choice'] ))
{
$choiceIdx = $_GET['choice'];
// or if we don't have a new value, take the 'stored' one:
} elseif (isset($_GET['choiceStored']))
{
$choiceIdx = $_GET['choiceStored'];
}
if(isset( $_GET['language'] ))
{
$language = $_GET['language'];
}
}
You are passing the same name twice. 'choice' has been defined as both the hidden value name and the button value name. To be able to differentiate, you should change the hidden value name to something like 'savedchoice'. And reference it by that name
I'm sure this has been asked befor but I can't seem to find it in a search
I have multiple forms on a page generated by php all with onCick event
The problem is it only picks up the first event after that any other clicks produce same result from first click
Here is javascript
function CompareScores(form)
{
var scoreA = document.getElementById("score_A").value;
var scoreB = document.getElementById("score_B").value;
if(scoreA > scoreB){
alert('Score A is Larger ' + scoreA)
}else{
alert('Score B is Larger ' + scoreB)
}
}
And the php generating forms
<?php
while($i<=$numPrelimTeams) {
if($i!=$e) {
?>
<form action="processScores.php" method="post"><p><u><?php echo $prelimTeam[$i]; ?> --> SCORE : <input type="text" class="small" id="score_A" name="score_A" size="1"></u></p>
<input type="hidden" name="team_A" value="<?php echo $prelimTeam[$i]; ?>">
<input type="hidden" name="game" value="<?php echo $game_num; ?>">
<p class="right">Game # <?php echo $game_num; ?> ) <input type="button" value="Enter Scores" onClick="CompareScores(this.form)"></p>
<?php
}else{
?>
<p><u><?php echo $prelimTeam[$i]; ?> --> SCORE : <input type="text" class="small" id="score_B" name="score_B" size="1"></u></p>
<input type="hidden" name="team_B" value="<?php echo $prelimTeam[$i]; ?>">
</form><br><br><br>
<?php
$game_num++;
$e=$e+2;
}
$i++;
}
?>
Without knowing the inputs or seeing the result, it's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like you might be generating multiple instances of this form on the same page, giving you multiple page elements named "score_A" and "score_B". document.getElementById will then become a bit ambiguous.
Since you're already sending the form object, use that instead:
var scoreA = form.score_A.value;
...
There is essentially a single problem with your code. You have multiple instances of the same ID.
To fix it, try something like this.
<input type="text" class="small score_A" name="score_A" size="1" />
Similarly
<input type="text" class="small score_B" name="score_B" size="1" />
Now, you can write a querySelector in your JS
function CompareScores(form) {
var a = form.querySelector('.score_A').value;
var b = form.querySelector('.score_B').value;
//do something
}
