i'm new in asp MVC so I will try to make a login form with ajax so i write jsonresult to check the username and password in the controller and i call it in ajax but it's not working and i don't know why so that's my controller code
public ActionResult login()
{
return View();
}
[HttpPost]
public JsonResult ValidateUser(string username,string password)
{
using(var contxt=new EnglisCenterEntities())
{
var data = from a in contxt.Employee
where a.Username == username && a.Passwords == password
select a;
if(data.Count()>0)
{
return Json(new { Success = true }, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);
}
else
{
return Json(new { Success = false }, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);
}
}
}
and this is my view and ajax code
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-6 col-md-offset-3 alert alert-warning">
<h2 class="text-center">Login</h2>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<div class="input-group">
<span class="input-group-addon"><i class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"></i></span>
<input type="text" id="username" class="form-control" placeholder="Username">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<div class="input-group">
<span class="input-group-addon"><i class="glyphicon glyphicon-lock"></i></span>
<input type="password" class="form-control" id="password" placeholder="Password">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<button class="btn btn-warning form-control" type="submit" id="savedata"><i class="glyphicon glyphicon-log-in"></i> Login</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<script>
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#savedata').click(function () {
var data = {
"username": $("#username").val(),
"password": $("#password").val()
};
$.ajax({
url: "/Account/ValidateUser",
type: "Post",
data: JSON.stringify(data),
dataType: "json",
contentType: "application/json",
success: function (response) {
if (response.Success) {
$.get("#Url.Action("Index", "Home")", function (data) {
$('.container').html(data);
});
}
else
window.location.href = "#Url.Action("Login", "Account")";
},
error: function () {
console.log('Login Fail!!!');
}
});
});
});
</script>
Why it's not working ? any help please

There is no need of JSON.stringify, modify your ajax call data as shown :-
$.ajax({
url: "/Account/ValidateUser",
type: "Post",
data: data,
dataType: "json",
.....
});

jquery not sending data to Post Action Asp.Net Core MVC

I am trying to save a ViewModel object from a partial view in a modal, and I get a 404 error when I try to post it. The url is being called, but the ViewModel data isn't being sent. I have been reading similar questions on here and on MSN for hours and nothing I've tried fixes the problem. I took out the repetitive days of the week code for brevity, but I can
add them back in if anyone wants a complete working example. Here is the code
EmployeeViewModel
public class EmployeeViewModel
{
public bool Monday { get; set; } = false;
//...bool properties for Tuesday through Sunday
public Employee Employee { get; set; }
}
Employee/ _AddEmployeeModalPartial
#model JSarad_C868_Capstone.ViewModels.EmployeeViewModel
#Html.AntiForgeryToken()
<div class="modal modal-fade" id="addEmployee">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h4 class="modal-title" id="addEmpoyeeLabel">Add Employee</h4>
<button type=button class="close" data-bs-dismiss="modal">

</button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<form action="Add">

site.js
$(function () {
var PlaceHolderElement = $('#PlaceHolderHere');
$('button[data-bs-toggle="ajax-modal"]').click(function (event) {
/* event.preventDefault();*/
var url = $(this).data('url');
console.log(url)
$.get(url).done(function (data) {
PlaceHolderElement.html(data);
PlaceHolderElement.find('.modal').modal('show');
})
})
PlaceHolderElement.on('click', '[data-bs-save="modal"]', function (event) {
event.preventDefault();
var form = $(this).parents('.modal').find('form');
var actionUrl = form.attr('action');
console.log(actionUrl);
var sendViewModel = form.serialize();
console.log(sendViewModel);
//$.post(actionUrl, sendViewModel).done(function (data) {
// PlaceHolderElement.find('.modal').modal('hide');
/*above is the code from a tutorial for modals. It also doesn't send the object to
post action*/
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: actionUrl,
dataType: 'json',
contentType: 'application/json',
data: JSON.stringify(sendViewModel),
success: function (result) {
console.log('Data received: ');
console.log(result);
}
})
})
})
When I click the save button on the model, the console.log(sendViewModel) returns the correct Serialization with all of the properties and their correct names. And the properties change correctly when there is input.
Employee.Id=&Employee.Availability=&Employee.Role=Bartender&Employee.Name=&Employee.Phone=&Employee.Email=&Employee.Address=&Monday=false&Tuesday=false&Wednesday=false&Thursday=false&Friday=false&Saturday=false&Sunday=false
But I get an error "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()"
and when I check it the page says "No webpage was found for the web address: https://localhost:44313/Add HTTP ERROR 404" as if it's trying to get a post. It is also missing the controller, but if I change my form action to "Employee/Add" in the _Partial view it still doesn't send the data along with the url, which is causing an entirely different problem. I would greatly appreciate any help or guess or input of any kind. I'm about five seconds away from throwing my laptop out the window on this one. Thanks.
1.Remove the #Html.AntiForgeryToken() inside your form,like below:
<form action="Add" >
#Html.AntiForgeryToken()
....
Then after you serialize the form you can get the AntiForgeryToken, like below:
Because when you don't add #Html.AntiForgeryToken()inside form, after you serialize the form you don't get the AntiForgeryToken, like below:
Besides, if you use <form asp-action="Add" > In ASP.Net Core anti forgery token is automatically added to forms, so you don't need to add #Html.AntiForgeryToken(),you can find in the below :
2.change your ajax like below:
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url:'/Employee/Add',
contentType: 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8',
data: sendViewModel,
success: function (result) {
console.log('Data received: ');
console.log(result);
}
})
result:
First, I had to change the form action from "Add" to "Employee/Add". ThenI had to remove the antiforgery token from my post action. The first code that is commented out actually works fine otherwise. In my defense I did remove the antiforgery token when I had the wrong URL, but I forgot to retest that when I had the correct one.

How to send ID of a row throught submit form / button?

I'm writing a code for the system administrator to be able to reset the users' passwords in their accounts in case they forget said password.
I'm currently having problems passing the target user's ID through Ajax to change said user's password, through debugging tool, the system returns an "undefined" response for "id:", although the "_token" and "password" fields were sent fine.

var id = $('#user_id').val(user_id_value); // You can get the value from hidden field
$.ajax({

});
</script>
Please refer the above code, You can pass the user id while modal pop up call and set that id to hidden value. then you can access that id from the hidden input. when you submit "form-reset-password" form.
Please look at comments on the above code
Maybe the attr() function is looking for native HTML attribute. So use the following snippet will help.
var id = $('.btn-confirmreset').data('id');

Error 500 on return all in Laravel Controller

Hi I am trying to send form data using ajax to my controller in Laravel. In my controller I am trying to return $request->all() to see if the form data is present. I am getting an error 500 internal server error and I am not sure why. I have setup my Exceptions/Handler.php to receive errors and also checked the error log.
Here is my HTML and Ajax:
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<h1>Create your post</h1>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="title">Title</label>
<input type="text" name="title" id="title" class="form-control">

<div class="form-group">
<label for="post">Post</label>
<textarea name="post" rows="8" cols="80" id="post" class="form-control"></textarea>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="image">Add image</label>
<input type="file" name="image" id="image" class="form-control">
</div>
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Post" id="submit" class="btn btn-primary">
</div>
</div>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#submit").on("click", function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var formData = new FormData();
var fileData = $('#image').prop('files')[0];
var title = $('#title').val();
var post = $('#post').val();
formData.append('fileData', fileData);
formData.append('title', title);
formData.append('post', post);
$.ajaxSetup({
headers: {
'X-CSRF-TOKEN': $('meta[name="csrf-token"]').attr("content")
}
});
$.ajax({
url:'/post/create/create',
type: "POST",
data: {
formData: formData
},
dataType: 'json',
success:function(response){
toastr.success(response.response);
},
error: function(error){
toastr.error(error.error)
}
});
});
});
</script>
Here is my controller:
public function create(Request $request) {
$request->all();
return response()->json(['responseText' => 'Success!'], 200)
}
missing ;
public function create(Request $request) {
$request->all();
return response()->json(['responseText' => 'Success!'], 200); //<--here
}

AJAX formData not working

I'm struggling with formData in Ajax calls. I read everything I could with the same information, tried get the form with this, getElementById and nothing works (even tried several solutions from SO).
I have a form with id add-lang-form:
<form class="js-validation-addlang" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" id="add-lang-form" name="add-lang-form">
<div class="form-group row">
<label class="col-6 col-form-label">Language Name</label>
<label class="col-6 col-form-label">Language Code</label>
<div class="col-md-6">
<div class="input-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="lang_name" name="lang_name">
<span class="input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-file"></i></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-6">
<div class="input-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="lang_code" name="lang_code">
<span class="input-group-addon"><img src="/assets/img/flags/def.png" id="flag-icon"/></i></span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label class="col-12" for="lang_tags">Language Tags</label>
<div class="col-lg-12">
<div class="input-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="lang_tags" name="lang_tags">
<span class="input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-list"></i></span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label class="col-md-12">Image</label>
<div class="col-md-12">
<input type="file" id="lang_img" name="lang_img" class="dropify" />
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<div class="col-md-12">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-alt-primary pull-right">Submit</button>
</div>
</div>
</form>
And I have a function that is called after form validation with submitHandler:
function AddLang(e) {
e.preventDefault ? e.preventDefault() : e.returnValue = false;
var form = document.getElementById('add-lang-form');
var formData = new FormData(form);
$.ajax({
url: 'PHP_FILE',
enctype: 'multipart/form-data',
processData: false,
contentType: false,
cache: false,
data: {
dados: formdata,
caller: 'addlang',
},
type: 'POST',
beforeSend: function() {
$("#login_btn").html('<i class="fa fa-2x fa-cog fa-spin"></i>');
$("#login_btn").attr("disabled", true);
},
success: function(output) {
if (output == "OK") {
alert("OK");
} else {
alert(output);
}
}
});
};
I tried creating the formData directly, everything and nothing works.
The $_POST['dados'] is not set. Any clue of whats going on?
you can't use a FormData object as the value of a parameter, it has to be the entire data: value. If you want to add additional parameters, use FormData.append().
function AddLang(e) {
//var data = $("#add-lang-form").serialize();
e.preventDefault ? e.preventDefault() : e.returnValue = false;
var form = document.getElementById('add-lang-form');
var formData = new FormData(form);
formData.append('caller', 'addlang');
$.ajax({
url: 'PHP_FILE',
enctype: 'multipart/form-data',
processData: false,
contentType: false,
cache: false,
data: formData,
type: 'POST',
beforeSend: function() {
$("#login_btn").html('<i class="fa fa-2x fa-cog fa-spin"></i>');
$("#login_btn").attr("disabled", true);
},
success: function(output) {
if (output == "OK") {
alert("OK");
} else {
alert(output);
}
}
});
};

Ajax script not working on Form Submit?

I have an issue, I am loading a partial page however I dont want the form on this page to redirect when I click the save button.
Not sure if I am using the script the correct way, I want to Post to the controller when I click submit but I want to be redirected back to the same page I was on (AdminPanel/AdminProfile) and not redirected to a different controller/view (Account/Manage).
AdminProfile View:
<div id="tab-2" class="tab-pane">
#{Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Account/Manage.cshtml");
}
</div>
Not sure if my script should go in this view or stay in the partial view?
Controller:
public ActionResult Manage(LocalPasswordModel model)
{
//....
return Json(new { redirectTo = Url.Action("AdminProfile", "AdminPanel") });
}
Partialview with script:
#model LocalPasswordModel
#{
ViewBag.Title = "Change Password";
}
<section class="hgroup">
<div class="panel-body">
<ul class="breadcrumb pull-right top-right">
<li>You're logged in as <strong>#User.Identity.Name</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul class="message-success">#ViewBag.StatusMessage</ul>
#using (Html.BeginForm("Manage", "Account", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "SavePassword", #class = "form-horizontal" }))
{
<div class="social_sign">
<h3>Change your password.</h3>
</div>
#Html.AntiForgeryToken()
#Html.ValidationSummary()
<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Old Password</label>
<div class="col-sm-10">
#Html.PasswordFor(m => m.OldPassword, new { #class = "form-control" })
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-sm-2 control-label">New Password</label>
<div class="col-sm-10">
#Html.PasswordFor(m => m.NewPassword, new { #class = "form-control"})
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Confirm Password</label>
<div class="col-sm-10">
#Html.PasswordFor(m => m.ConfirmPassword, new { #class = "form-control" })
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<div class="col-sm-12 col">
<input type="submit" class="btn btn-primary pull-right" value="Change password" />
</div>
</div>
}
</div>
</section>
Script in the view above:
#section Scripts {
<script>
$('#SavePassword').submit(function ()
{
if ($(this).valid())
{
$.ajax({
url: this.action,
type: this.method,
data: $(this).serialize(),
success: function (result)
{
if (result.redirectTo)
{
window.location.href = result.redirectTo;
}
else
{
$(".tab-2").html(result);
}
},
error: function ()
{
}
});
}
})
</script>
#Scripts.Render("~/bundles/jqueryval")
}
Nothing seems to happen all I get is an empty page with {"redirectTo":"/AdminPanel/AdminProfile"} in it. Which is the url: http://localhost:57239/Account/Manage
you should change your code like these:
<script>
$('#SavePassword').submit(function ()
{
if ($(this).valid())
{
$.ajax({
url: this.action,
type: this.method,
data: $(this).serialize(),
success: function (result)
{
if (result.redirectTo)
{
window.location.href = result.redirectTo;
}
else
{
$(".tab-2").html(result);
}
},
error: function ()
{
}
});
}
return false;
})
</script>
You have already attached the AJAX call, but forgot to prevent the default submission event. So, use event.preventDefault():
$('#SavePassword').submit(function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
// Rest of your code.
if ($(this).valid())
