I have a dropdown that is triggered by clicking a glyphicon. The glyphicon has a ui-bootstrap tooltip that is triggered on mouse-enter/mouse-leave. The tooltip is also triggered to close when the glyphicon is clicked, and the dropdown is shown.
However, once the dropdown is open, the tooltip is shown again if the mouse-enter is triggered. I would like to prevent the mouse-enter triggering the tooltip when the dropdown is open.
The html for the glyphicon and the dropdown is:
<span class="" uib-dropdown-toggle>
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-sort category-sort-icon" uib-tooltip="Sort"
tooltip-placement="left" tooltip-is-open="sortTooltipIsOpen"
ng-click="sortTooltipIsOpen = !sortTooltipIsOpen">
</span>
</span>
<ul uib-dropdown-menu class="dropdown-menu-right">
<li ng-repeat="s in sortDesc" ng-click="sortBy(s)">{{s}}</li>
</ul>
I've create a plnkr to show exactly how it working: http://plnkr.co/edit/aeOuJasEHFUH505o2L8T
Any ideas how to do this?
Here is the working plnkr. I have used "is-open" attribute to detect whether dropdown is open or not. Based upon that, I have disabled/enabled the tooltip. I hope it helps.
I have added tooltip-enable="!isDropdownOpen" to the tooltip and is-open="isDropdownOpen" to the uib-dropdown.
<span class="" uib-dropdown is-open="isDropdownOpen">
<span class="" uib-dropdown-toggle>
<span class="glyphicon glyphicon-sort category-sort-icon" uib-tooltip="Sort"
tooltip-placement="left" tooltip-is-open="sortTooltipIsOpen"
ng-click="sortTooltipIsOpen = !sortTooltipIsOpen" tooltip-enable="!isDropdownOpen" >
</span>
</span>
<ul uib-dropdown-menu class="dropdown-menu-right">
<li ng-repeat="s in sortDesc" ng-click="sortBy(s)">{{s}}</li>
</ul>

I'm making a chrome extension and one of the features is to click on one of the items in the list code below.
<ul class="js-tweet-actions tweet-actions full-width ">
<li class="tweet-action-item pull-left margin-r--13 "> <a class="tweet-action " href="#" rel="retweet"> <i class="js-icon-retweet icon icon-retweet icon-retweet-toggle txt-center"></i> <span class="is-vishidden">Retweet</span> </a> </li>
<li class="tweet-action-item pull-left margin-r--13 margin-l--1"> <a class="js-show-tip tweet-action position-rel" href="#" rel="favorite" title="" data-original-title=" Like from ILoveTomFan "> <i class="js-icon-favorite icon icon-favorite icon-favorite-toggle txt-center"></i> <span class="is-vishidden"> Like </span> </a> </li>
</ul>
How would I mimic a browser click on these elements, the code below is what I tried and it has no effect at all, it doesnt correctly click the element that is being displayed.
I have tried;
document.getElementsByClassName("js-show-tip tweet-action position-rel").click;
document.getElementsByClassName("tweet-action-item pull-left margin-r--13 margin-l--1").click;
document.getElementsByClassName("js-icon-favorite icon icon-favorite icon-favorite-toggle txt-center").click;
var test = x[y].querySelectorAll("li");
test[2].click;
Thanks #Zevee specially the code that made this work was
x[y].querySelector('.js-show-tip.tweet-action.position-rel').click();
Your first three don't work because there is an array of elements and because classname only takes one class (iirc)
Try document.querySelector(<here, put every single class that you want to select seperated by dots (in a string)>).click()
Note that this selects the first element with all of those classes (iirc)
I have a side-menu on my bootstrap webpage which is open by default.
If the screen is too small there is a button placed behind it to open the menu again.
When a user clicks on a link I would like the menu to close automatically.
The button I already have opens the menu perfectly, but I have no way of closing it?
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="sidebar-wrapper">
<ul class="sidebar-nav">
<li class="sidebar-brand"><img src="/content/img/AAA.png" width="27px" />Menu</li>
<li data-ng-hide="!authentication.isAuth">Welcome {{authentication.userName}}</li>
<li data-ng-hide="!authentication.isAuth">Page1</li>
<li data-ng-hide="!authentication.isAuth">Logout</li>
<li data-ng-hide="authentication.isAuth"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-user"></span> Login</li>
<li data-ng-hide="authentication.isAuth"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-log-in"></span> Sign Up</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
<a href="#menu-toggle" class="btn btn-default" id="menu-toggle">
Menu
</a>
<script>
$("#menu-toggle").click(function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
$("#wrapper").toggleClass("toggled");
});
</script>
You could add in another event handler for the a elements.
$(".sidebar-nav li a").click(function() {
$("#wrapper").removeClass("toggled");
});
Here are a few things that you could do:
You could use hide/show with jQuery(I can see you are already using it).
Instead of makeing a "toggled" class, Bootstrap has a built in "hidden" class that you could use.
You could also toggle it's css "display" value.
You could use the "animate" class to slide the menu on and off the screen.
You could have a variable to store the state of the menu("true" for out, "false" for in), and change it when the toggle button is clicked.
I had a similar issue, and I placed a close button on the menu, and added a seperate click handler that would close the menu. The close button would then hide with the menu, leaving just the button to open the menu again.
So I'm using bootstrap for my website and I have many div's on each page with a dropdown on each that change the information inside the div from a chart to a table and vise-versa. This works fine except when the user selects an option from the drop down the screen seems to "jump", putting that div at the top of the screen. I found a similar issue for someone else saying it has something to do with the anchor tag(#), but I believe I need mine since the drop down does refer to something.
DROPDOWN:
<div class="dropdown">
<button class="btn btn-warning dropdown-toggle btn-xs" type="button" id="dropdownMenuGraphOneSmall" data-toggle="dropdown" aria-expanded="true">Graph One Options<span class="caret"></span>
</button>
<ul class="dropdown-menu" role="menu" aria-labelledby="dropdownMenuGraphOneSmall">
<!--DROPDOWN MENU-->
<li role="presentation">
<a role="menuitem" tabindex="-1" href="#graphOneData">Data</a>
</li>
<li role="presentation">
<a role="menuitem" tabindex="-1" href="#graphOneChart">Chart</a>
</li>
<li role="presentation">
<a data-toggle="modal" data-target="#enlargeGraphOneModal" role="menuitem" tabindex="-1">Maximize</a>
</li>
<li role="presentation">
<a class="collapse-link" role="menuitem" tabindex="-1" href="#graphOneCollapse">Collapse</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
CONTENT IT CALLS:
<div class="content active row" id="graphOneChart">
............
</div>
<div class="content" id="graphOneData">
............
</div>
To keep the page from jumping, you can remove the href="" altogether, and just keep the a tag empty like this <a>, then it wont jump.
If you have to keep the href tag, you can use the e.preventDefault() in your click or on method.
When you use an anchor tag, <a>, it is going to automatically go to the location that the href tag is pointing to. If your link is pointing to an id on the page, the link is going to scroll the screen to the element the link is pointing to. If you want to use the link to call a function, leave the href attribute empty, href="".
If you use a hash # in an anchor, the browser will automatically scroll to the element with the corresponding id.
For example, clicking on:
Data
Will cause the page to jump to:
<div id="graphOneData"></div>
To stop this happening, either change the id of the div or the href of the anchor.
I have simple Bootstrap 3 toggle navigation :
<ul class="nav navmenu-nav clearfix" >
<li class="navmenu-brand dropdown clearfix">
<i class="fa fa-home"></i><i class="title"> Menu item 1 </i><span class="fa fa-chevron-left"></span>
<ul class="dropdown-menu" role="menu">
<li class="clearfix">
test 1
</li>
<li class="clearfix">
test2
</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li class="navmenu-brand dropdown clearfix">
<i class="fa fa-video-camera"></i><i class="title"> menu item 2 </i><span class="fa fa-chevron-left"></span>
<ul class="dropdown-menu" role="menu">
<li class="clearfix">
Test 3
</li>
<li class="clearfix">
Test 4
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
I need when click on Test 1 and go to that page,to that part of menu be open on that page.Etc, if I click on test 3,url take me on test 3 page ,to have open second part of menu...
I try with similar problems, but no result,when go to page,menu is collapsed.

I don't have much time but I am going to suggest a procedure for you. so I suggest you save the variable with Jquery using cookies:
you might need to call this: <script src="/path/to/jquery.cookie.js"></script> and on github plugin link is right here: jquery cookie
Now give an id to all of your dropdowns link
<i class="fa fa-video-camera"></i><i class="title"> menu item 2 </i><span class="fa fa-chevron-left"></span>
add an event listener to get the id of the dropdown link being click:
just like it is done here: get id of item clicked
store the value in a variable known as myVariable
$.cookie('cookieName', 'myVariable');
you can set expiry date
$.cookie('cookieName', 'myVariable', { expires: 1 });//expires after a day
in the other page, you read the cookie and store it in new variable:
newVariable = $.cookie('cookieName');
use that variable for your dropdown to be enabled
$(newVariable).dropdown('toggle');
Other things you might want to check is: send variables -cookies method in javascript, Open a dropdown automatically, store id of a link
I am using simpelmodal to create dialog in jquery, but now the issue is in one of my html page i am adding
li elements dynamically , and when on a click of a button i try to fire $("attachment-modal-content").modal() dialog box doesnt appear until i again tap over a screen or move the screen. as soon as i move the screen it appears.
notable things is that if i dont load any li elements in the page , it popups normally.
here is the example page , initially attachment-modal-content is set to display:none
<div>
<a href="#" id="openDialog" />
<ul id="mylist">
</ul>
<div id="attachment-modal-content">
<h3>Attachment</h3>
<ul class="attachment">
<li id="imageBtn" class="green"><em><i class="fa fa-camera"></i></em><span>Image</span></li>
<li id="audioBtn" class="red"><em><i class="fa fa-volume-up"></i></em><span>Audio</span></li>
<li id="videoBtn" class="yellow"><em><i class="fa fa-video-camera"></i></em><span>Video</span></li>
<li id="linkBtn" class="blue"><em><i class="fa fa-link"></i></em><span>Link</span></li>
</ul>
<ul class="attachList">
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
button code
$("#openDialog").on('click',function(){
$("#attachment-modal-content").modal();
});
once i load the date using $('#mylist').append('<li><li>') , dialog wont appear on a first button click , it appears
when i move the screen.
