How to validate element directive in angularjs - javascript

I want to validate multi-select in angularjs. At least one item should be selected in multi-select. If not then submit button should not enable. I am using require to validate the form. I am able to make compulsory selection of first name by using require, but how do also compulsory for multiselect.
Form
<form ng-submit='addStudent()' name='studentForm' novalidate="">
<div class="col-md-4">
<div class="col-md-12">
<label for="Name">First Name *</label>
<input ng-model='student.first_name' name="name" type="text" placeholder="First Name" required class="form-control">
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-4">
<div class="col-md-12">
<label for="Name">Last Name </label>
<input ng-model='student.last_name' name="name" type="text" placeholder="Last Name" class="form-control">
</div>
</div>
<multi-selection selectedsubjs="student.selectedSubjects"
allsubjects="allSubjects"
left-title="All Subjects"
right-title="Selected Subjects">
</multi-selection>
<input ng-disabled="sutudentForm.$invalid" type="submit">
</form>
Element Directive
app.directive('multiSelection', function(){
return {
restrict: 'E',
scope: {
allsubjects: '=',
selectedsubjs: '=',
displayAttr: '#',
leftTitle: '#',
rightTitle: '#'
},
templateUrl: "templates/multiSelection.html",
link: function(scope) {
scope.swapsubject1 = function(item) {
var index = scope.allsubjects.indexOf(item);
scope.allsubjects.splice(index, 1);
scope.selectedsubjs.push(item);
}
scope.swapsubject2 = function(item) {
var index = scope.selectedsubjs.indexOf(item);
scope.selectedsubjs.splice(index, 1);
scope.allsubjects.push(item);
}
}
};
});
Multi-Select Template
<tr>
<td>
<div class="entBox">
<switchitem ng-repeat="subj in allsubjects" value="subj.name" ng-click="swapsubject1(item)" ng-model="allSubjects"></switchitem>
</div>
</td>
<td>
<div class="entBox">
<switchitem ng-repeat="subj in selectedsubjs" value="subj.name" ng-click="swapsubject2(item)" ng-model="student.selectedSubjects"></switchitem>
</div>
</td>
</tr>

Check this element is not a input type then set
if (!element.isInput()) {
element[0].setCustomValidity(errorMsg);
}

AngularJS 1.6.8: Unable to submit form and display success message

I have a simple query submission form with name, email and query fields and a component with a controller function having the submit function to submit the form.
I am using ng-submit directive in the <form></form> tag to submit the user input and display a success message on submission.
below is the code for the respective files.
contact.html
<div ngController="contactController as vm">
<div class="heading text-center">
<h1>Contact Us</h1>
</div>
<div>
<form class="needs-validation" id="contactForm" novalidate method="post" name="vm.contactForm" ng-submit="saveform()">
<div class="form-group row">
<label for="validationTooltip01" class="col-sm-2 col-form-label">Name</label>
<div class="input-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationTooltipName" placeholder="Name" ng-model="vm.name" required>
<div class="invalid-tooltip">
Please enter your full name.
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label for="validationTooltipEmail" class="col-sm-2 col-form-label">Email</label>
<div class="input-group">
<div class="input-group-prepend">
<span class="input-group-text" id="validationTooltipUsernamePrepend">#</span>
</div>
<input type="email" class="form-control" id="validationTooltipEmail" placeholder="Email"
aria-describedby="validationTooltipUsernamePrepend" ng-model="vm.email" required>
<div class="invalid-tooltip">
Please choose a valid email.
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label for="validationTooltip03" class="col-sm-2 col-form-label">Query</label>
<div class="input-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationTooltipQuery" ng-model="vm.query" placeholder="Query" required>
<div class="invalid-tooltip">
Please write your Query.
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="btn-group offset-md-5">
<button class="btn btn-primary" type="submit">Submit</button>
<button class="btn btn-default" type="button" id="homebtn" ng-click="navigate ('home')">Home</button>
</div>
</form>
<span data-ng-bind="Message" ng-hide="hideMessage" class="sucessMsg"></span>
</div>
</div>
contact.component.js
angular.module('myApp')
.component('contactComponent', {
restrict: 'E',
$scope:{},
templateUrl:'contact/contact.html',
controller: contactController,
controllerAs: 'vm',
factory:'userService',
$rootscope:{}
});
function contactController($scope, $state,userService,$rootScope) {
var vm = this;
$scope.navigate = function(home){
$state.go(home)
};
$scope.saveform = function(){
$scope.name= vm.name;
$scope.email= vm.email;
$scope.query= vm.email;
$scope.hideMessage = false;
$scope.Message = "Your query has been successfully submitted."
};
$scope.user = userService;
};
//localStorage code
function userService($rootScope) {
var service = {
model: {
name: '',
email: '',
query:''
},
SaveState: function () {
sessionStorage.userService = angular.toJson(service.model);
},
RestoreState: function () {
service.model = angular.fromJson(sessionStorage.userService);
}
}
$rootScope.$on("savestate", service.SaveState);
$rootScope.$on("restorestate", service.RestoreState);
return service;
$rootScope.$on("$routeChangeStart", function (event, next, current) {
if (sessionStorage.restorestate == "true") {
$rootScope.$broadcast('restorestate'); //let everything know we need to restore state
sessionStorage.restorestate = false;
}
});
//let everthing know that we need to save state now.
window.onbeforeunload = function (event) {
$rootScope.$broadcast('savestate');
};
};
UPDATE: On Submit, When I check the response in network tab in dev tools, I do not see the submitted values. All I see is the markup.
In your template, the name of the method is saveform:
ng-submit="saveform()"
But in your controller, it's save:
$scope.save = function() { ... }
Rename it to saveform:
$scope.saveform = function() { ... }

count number of required field in form in angular js?

could you please tell me how to count the number of required field in form in angular js ?
In my form there is two required field is present (email, select view).So I want to show 2 in my page .when I fill email .it should show only 1 .But when I select value from select view it should show 0 value.
so I make a directive and try to broadcast count value to controller but it is not giving correct value
here is my code
http://codepen.io/anon/pen/WGzgdE?editors=1010#anon-login
angular.module('app',[]).directive('requiredCount',function($rootScope){
return {
restrict: 'EA',
require: '^form',
link: {
post: function (scope, elem, attr, ctrls) {// jshint ignore:line
console.log('ctrls.$name', ctrls.$name);
scope.$watch(function () {
if (ctrls.$error.required) {
return ctrls.$error.required;
}
}, function (newValue, oldValue) {
if (newValue && newValue !== oldValue) {
var count = newValue.length;
newValue.forEach(function (item) {
if (item.$error.required) {
// if (item.$valid) {
count--;
// }
}
});
}
});
}
}
};
}).controller('app',function($scope){
$scope.$on('count',function(e,a){
$scope.count =a
})
});
You are missing the name attribute in the form elements and the 'ng-model' attribute on element.
<form name='test' novalidate>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="email">Email address:</label>
<input type="email" class="form-control" ng-model="user.email" id="email" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="pwd">Password:</label>
<input id="pwd" name="pwd" class="form-control"
type="password" ng-model="user.password" required></input>
</div>
<div class="checkbox">
<label><input type="checkbox"> Remember me</label>
</div>
<select name="carlist" class="form-control" ng-model="user.carlist" id="carlist" required>
<option value></option>
<option value="volvo">Volvo</option>
<option value="saab">Saab</option>
<option value="opel">Opel</option>
<option value="audi">Audi</option>
</select>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default">Submit</button>
</form>
"test.$error.required.length" would simply display the no of required fields .
required field count {{test.$error.required.length}}
Here is the DEMO - http://codepen.io/anon/pen/jrzZLX?editors=1010#anon-login
you can use form.$error.required.length
<div ng-show="form.$invalid">
Sorry but {{form.$error.required.length}} errors found.
</div>

Generate dynamic form input fields and collect field data in an array in angularJS

I need to generate form input fields dynamically by clicking 'add sale' button on the form. which is accomplished
Also on change selected drop down, it get the price from the database and use the quantity to calculate the amount of that product.
if I click on 'add sale' button for another form generate the changes affect the previous one.
how to calculate the amount for each form independently and collect the data in it using angularJS?
this is controller
appcat.controller("MainCtrl", ['$scope', '$http', '$location', function ($scope, $http, $location)
{
//var quan = $scope.quantity;
$http.get('/api/pproduct').success(function (data)
{
$scope.pcategoryA = data;
});
// this controll the addition and removal
$scope.choices = [{ id: 'choice1' }];
//any time changes occurr it calculate the Amount
$scope.changedValue = function (item,quan)
{
if (item != null && quan !=null)
{
$http.get('/api/product/'+ item).success(function (data) // this is the price for that product from the Database
{
//this sets amount field
$scope.amount = parseFloat(data.price * quan);
});
}
}
// this generate a form
$scope.addNewChoice = function ()
{
var newItemNo = $scope.choices.length + 1;
$scope.choices.push({ 'id': 'choice' + newItemNo });
};
// this remove the form
$scope.removeChoice = function () {
var lastItem = $scope.choices.length - 1;
if ($scope.choices.length > 1) {
$scope.choices.splice(lastItem);
}
};
}]);
this is the html
<form class="form-inline" role="form" padding-left:10em">
<strong class="error">{{ error }}</strong>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name">
Invoice No. :
</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="name" ng-model="name" />
</div>
<br /><hr />
<div ng-controller="MainCtrl">
<fieldset data-ng-repeat="choice in choices">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name">
Quantity :
</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="quantity" ng-model="quantity" />
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label"> Product : </label>
<select class="form-control" id="selected_id" ng-model="selected_id" ng-options="c.Value as c.Text for c in pcategoryA"
ng-change="changedValue(selected_id,quantity)">
<option value="">-- Select Category --</option>
</select>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name">
Amount :
</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="amount" ng-model="amount" ng-readonly="true" />
</div>
<button class="remove" ng-show="$last" ng-click="removeChoice()">-</button>
<br />
<hr />
</fieldset>
<button type="submit" class="col-sm-offset-10 addfields" ng-click="addNewChoice()">
Add Sale
</button>
</div>
</form>
thanks in advanced!!
You have to put 'amount' in choices array.
$scope.choices = [{ id: 'choice1', amount: 0}];
Then in controller:
$scope.changedValue = function (choise,item,quan)
choise.amount = parseFloat(data.price * quan);
And in tempalte:
ng-change="changedValue(choise,selected_id,quantity)">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="amount" ng-model="choise.amount" ng-readonly="true" />

re enabling ng-disabled button in Angular JS

I am a newbie to AngularJS. I have created a form with fields which is disabled using ng-disabled by default. when I click on the edit <button> I want these fields to re-enable.
HTML
<form class="form-horizontal" role="form" ng-submit="edit_setting()" ng-controller="ExchangeController">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Name</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.name" ng-disabled="true">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Host Name</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.host_name" required ng-disabled="true">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Address</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.address" ng-disabled="true">
</div>
</div>
</form>
Controller
function ExchangeController($scope, $http, $cookieStore, $location) {
var edit_exchange_setting = "https://pvbp.com/api/settings.html?contactid=292351&exchange_id=7124&clearinghouseid=1&token=e5349652507c0esae86d50fdbdc53222cf97&page=view";
$http.get(edit_exchange_setting).success(function(response){
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_name = response.name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_host_name = response.host_name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_last_processed_date = response.address;
});
$scope.edit_exchange_setting_click = (function(){
// how can i make the fields re enable here
});
}
in controller create scope variable,
$scope.disabled= true;
and replace all ng-disabled with that variable like,
...ng-model="exchange_dt.name" ng-disabled="disabled"....
when you click on edit button set $scope.disabled to false like,
$scope.edit_exchange_setting_click = (function(){
$scope.disabled = false;
});
you can have a scope variable keeping the true or false value.and a setter for that variable.
function ExchangeController($scope, $http, $cookieStore, $location) {
var edit_exchange_setting = "https://pvbp.com/api/settings.html?contactid=292351&exchange_id=7124&clearinghouseid=1&token=e5349652507c0esae86d50fdbdc53222cf97&page=view";
$http.get(edit_exchange_setting).success(function(response){
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_name = response.name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_host_name = response.host_name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_last_processed_date = response.address;
});
$scope.edit_exchange_setting_click = (function(){
// how can i make the fields re enable here
});
$scope.dtName=true;
$scope.isdtNameDisabled=function()
{
return $scope.dtName;
};
$scope.updatedtName=function(flag)
{
$scope.dtName=flag;
};
}
and in your HTML you can bind that getter function.
<div class="form-group">
<label>Name</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.name" ng-disabled="isdtNameDisabled()>
</div>
</div>
You need to create a variable at the top of controller say
$scope.mydisabled=true;
then set your ng-disable with the variable
ng-disabled="mydisabled"
and on click of edit button set its value to false
$scope.mydisabled=false;
UPDATE
Fiddle
A different (however similar) approach is to wrap your form contents in a fieldset and have ng-disabled in the fieldset only rather than in all the input fields. To make the html more cleaner.
<form class="form-horizontal" role="form" ng-submit="edit_setting()" ng-controller="ExchangeController">
<fieldset ng-disabled ="isFormSetForSaving">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Name</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.name">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Host Name</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.host_name" required>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Address</label>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="text" class="form-control" ng-model="exchange_dt.address">
</div>
</div>
</fieldset>
</form>
and now in the controller set the isFormSetForSaving to true/false as per your logic.
function ExchangeController($scope, $http, $cookieStore, $location) {
$scope.isFormSetForSaving = true;
var edit_exchange_setting = "https://pvbp.com/api/settings.html?contactid=292351&exchange_id=7124&clearinghouseid=1&token=e5349652507c0esae86d50fdbdc53222cf97&page=view";
$http.get(edit_exchange_setting).success(function(response){
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_name = response.name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_host_name = response.host_name;
$scope.exchange_dt.exchange_last_processed_date = response.address;
});
$scope.edit_exchange_setting_click = (function(){
// how can i make the fields re enable here
$scope.isFormSetForSaving = false;
});
}

Angular data in dropdown not set the second time

I've something weird going on here with Angular.
I have a details view with an edit button. When I press the edit button, I pass the object to the edit view. On the edit form there are a few dropdown boxes. The first time I click the edit button, everything loads well. All the dropdowns has the correct value selected. When I press cancel on the edit form, I get back to the details view. When I do nothing and press the Edit button again on the details view, the dropdowns don't have selected values at all! However the dropdowns do have items.
How is this possible? I didn't do anything with the data!
The details view and edit view are both directives:
In the template of customerDetails:
<div>
Here all the details of the customer
<button ng-click="ShowCustomerEditForm()">Edit</button>
</div>
<customer-edit
visible="showCustomerForm"
customer = "customer">
</customer-edit>
directive customer-edit:
app.directive("customerEdit", function (CustomerService, CountryService) {
return {
restrict: 'E',
templateUrl: '/Customer/Add',
scope: {
customer: '=',
visible: '=',
onCustomerSaved: '&'
},
link: function (scope, element, attributes) {
CustomerService.getAllAcademicDegrees().then(function (response) {
scope.academicDegrees = response;
});
CustomerService.getAllGenders().then(function (response) {
scope.genders = response;
});
CountryService.getAllCountries().then(function (response) {
scope.countries = response;
});
scope.$watch('customer', function (newValue) {
if (newValue && newValue.Id > 0) {
scope.customer.originalCustomer = {};
angular.copy(scope.customer, scope.customer.originalCustomer);
}
});
scope.customerFormSubmit = function () {
if (scope.customer.Id > 0) {
editCustomer();
}
else {
addCustomer();
}
}
scope.hideCustomerForm = function (restoreOriginal) {
if (restoreOriginal) {
angular.copy(scope.customer.originalCustomer, scope.customer);
}
scope.visible = false;
}
// Private functions
function editCustomer() {
var editCustomer = createCustomer(scope.customer);
editCustomer.Id = scope.customer.Id;
CustomerService.editCustomer(editCustomer).then(editCustomerSucceeded);
scope.hideCustomerForm(false);
}
function editCustomerSucceeded(response) {
var uneditedCustomer = _.findWhere(scope.customers, { Id: response.Id });
angular.copy(response, uneditedCustomer);
}
function addCustomer() {
var newCustomer = createCustomer(scope.customer);
CustomerService.addCustomer(newCustomer).then(function (response) {
scope.onCustomerSaved({ customer: response });
scope.hideCustomerForm(false);
});
}
}
}
});
I am trying to fix this for 6 hours now and I just don't understand it and I'm getting very desperate.. I just don't know how to fix this and what's causing this. I really hope someone can help me..

I can answer why this problem is happening.
The problem is:
angular.copy(scope.customer.originalCustomer, scope.customer);
angular.copy does a deep copy. After the above call, scope.customer.Country, for instance, is a brand new object, it's not an element of scope.countries anymore. Therefore, the select directives lost track of the selected values.
