Javascript code never loaded - javascript

I have a javascript code that I have hardcoded into my html file, but it never seems to load. My form sends data to a php file via post immediately without every going through javascript verification. Any ideas? Thanks!

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.0/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
$('#registration').on('submit', function(e){
var usernameValue = $("#username").val();
var passwordValue = $("#password").val();
var confirmationValue = $("#confirmation").val();
// Returns successful data submission message when the entered information is stored in database.
var dataString = 'username1='+ usernameValue + '&password1='+ passwordValue + '&confirmation1='+ confirmationValue;
if(usernameValue==''||passwordValue==''||confirmationValue=='') {
alert("Please Fill All Fields");
}
else {
// AJAX Code To Submit Form.
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "register.php",
data: dataString,
cache: false,
success: function(result){
alert(result);
}
});
}
return false;
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form id ="registration" action="register.php" method="post">
<fieldset>
<legend>Registration Details</legend>
<form class="form-inline">
<div class="form-group">
<input autocomplete="off" autofocus class="form-control" id="username" placeholder="Username" type="text"/>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input class="form-control" id="password" placeholder="Password" type="password"/>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input class="form-control" id="confirmation" placeholder="Password" type="password"/>

<div class="form-group">

</button>
</div>
</form>
</fieldset>
</form>
<div>
<p class="text-center">or login</p>
</div>
</body>
</html>

You need to wrap your $('#registration').on('submit', function(e){ }); with in a $(function(){ }); (or $(document).ready()) as it is currently binding before the document is ready -
<script>
$(function(){
$('#registration').on('submit', function(e){
...
[rest of your code]
...
});
});
</script>

Please try adding your script inside jquery document ready . Example
$( document ).ready(function() {
$('#registration').on('submit', function(e){
var usernameValue = $("#username").val();
var passwordValue = $("#password").val();
var confirmationValue = $("#confirmation").val();
// Returns successful data submission message when the entered information is stored in database.
var dataString = 'username1='+ usernameValue + '&password1='+ passwordValue + '&confirmation1='+ confirmationValue;
if(usernameValue==''||passwordValue==''||confirmationValue=='') {
alert("Please Fill All Fields");
}
else {
// AJAX Code To Submit Form.
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "register.php",
data: dataString,
cache: false,
success: function(result){
alert(result);
}
});
}
return false;
});
});

Form data doesnt't get sent by id via AJAX

I want the following ajax request to process form data from form with "#next" id:
$(function () {
$("#next").on('submit', function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
$.ajax({
type: 'post',
url: 'check_user.php',
dataType: 'json',
data: $('form').serialize(),
success: function (response) {
if(response['found'] === 'true') {
location.href = 'index.php';
} else {
alert('Incorrect username or password');
}
},
error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) {
alert(errorThrown);
}
});
});
});
And here's the file that contains the form:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/auth_style.css">
<title>Authentication</title>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.6.1.js"></script>
<script src="js/authentication_ajax.js"></script>
<noscript>JS is disabled. Enable js to continue</noscript>
</head>
<body>
<h1 id="header">Enter your data here</h1>
<form id="#next">
<label for="login">Login</label>
<input type="text" id="login" name="login" placeholder="Enter your login here" required><br>
<label for="password">Password</label>
<input type="password" id="password" name="password" placeholder="Enter your password here" required><br>
<input type="submit" value="Log in">
</form>
<form id="#log_out" action="log_out.php" method="post">
<button type="submit">Log out</button>
</form>
</body>
What's interesting is that when I used just $('form').on('submit', function (e) { it worked just fine.
You have two error the first one is how to use ids, in the id don't use # instead use just the name, and into the selector you can use $('#name').
The second problem is about selector of serialize(), in this case you can use directly e.target like:
$(function() {
$("#next").on('submit', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
console.log($(e.target).serialize());
/*
$.ajax({
type: 'post',
url: 'check_user.php',
dataType: 'json',
data: $(e.target).serialize(),
success: function (response) {
if(response['found'] === 'true') {
location.href = 'index.php';
} else {
alert('Incorrect username or password');
}
},
error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) {
alert(errorThrown);
}
});
*/
});
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<h1 id="header">Enter your data here</h1>
<form id="next">
<label for="login">Login</label>
<input type="text" id="login" name="login" placeholder="Enter your login here" required><br>
<label for="password">Password</label>
<input type="password" id="password" name="password" placeholder="Enter your password here" required><br>
<input type="submit" value="Log in">
</form>
<form id="log_out" action="log_out.php" method="post">
<button type="submit">Log out</button>
</form>

Ajax JQuery request doesn't get sent

It used to work fine, and I don't remember changing anything in these files, but now nothing happens when I click on submit form. What may cause the problem?
Snippet:
// And here's the ajax request file *auth_ajax.js*:
$(function() {
$('form').on('submit', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$.ajax({
type: 'post',
url: 'check_user.php',
dataType: 'json',
data: $('form').serialize(),
success: function(response) {
if (response['found'] === 'true') {
location.href = 'index.php';
} else {
alert('Incorrect username or password');
}
},
error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) {
alert(errorThrown);
}
});
});
});
<!-- Here's my php file: -->
<h1 id="header">Enter your data here</h1>
<form>
<label for="login">Login</label>
<input type="text" id="login" name="login" placeholder="Enter your login here" required><br>
<label for="password">Password</label>
<input type="password" id="password" name="password" placeholder="Enter your password here" required><br>
<input type="submit" value="Log in">
</form>

jQuery - Change action and form ID and use this

Apparently in the DOM have changed the values, even changed the ID of the form with the idea that the script no longer has effect but when you click Publish, nothing happens. Searching I tried to use "prop" instead of "attr" but it still does not work. I think it's because of the "e.preventDefault ()". But I do not know how to disable it. This is my code.
As you can see once the request is sent, the input and the "send" button are deactivated and when the values are received, they change the id of the form, the id and name of the button and it is renamed "Publish".
<script>
jQuery(function($){
var pluginUrl = '<?php echo plugin_dir_url( __FILE__ ); ?>' ;
$('[id^="form-search"]').on('submit', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$.ajax({
type : 'POST',
url : 'http://localhost/ladoserver/getapi.php',
data : $(this).serialize(),
cache: false,
beforeSend: function(){
$('input#keyword').prop('disabled', true);
$('button#search').prop('disabled', true);
$('#resuls').html('<img src="'+pluginUrl+'../../assets/img/loading.gif" />');
}
}).done(function(data) {
$('#results').html(data);
$('input#keyword').prop('value', 'PUBLISH DATA');
$('button#search').prop({disabled: false, id:'publish', name:'publish'}).html('Publish');
$('span#help').hide();
$('[id^="form-search"]').prop('action','publish.php');
$('[id^="form-search"]').prop('id', 'form-publish');
var countResults = $('input#total_data').val();
for (var i = 1; i <= countResults; i++) {
$('#lista>select').clone().prop({ id: "cat_"+i, name: "cat_"+i}).appendTo('.category_'+i);
}
$('#lista').remove();
});
});
});
</script>
Here my html
<form action="" method="post" class="form-search" id="form-search">
<fieldset>
<!-- Form Name -->
<legend>Name</legend>
<div class="form-group">
<input id="keyword" name="keyword" required="" type="text">

<span class="help-block" id="help">Help</span>
<div id="lista" style="display:none">Test</div>
</div>
</fieldset>
<div id="result"></div>
</form>
Here a fiddle showing that happened (check DOM).
JSFiddle.net
//var pluginUrl = '<?php echo plugin_dir_url( __FILE__ ); ?>' ;
// when the action is plugin url.
$(document).on('submit','[id^="form-search"]', function(e) {

data : $(this).serialize(),

$('button#search').prop('disabled', true);
$('#resuls').html('<img src="'+pluginUrl+'../../assets/img/loading.gif" />');
}
}).done(function(data) {
$('#results').html(data);
$('input#keyword').prop('value', 'PUBLISH DATA');
$('button#search').prop({disabled: false, id:'publish', name:'publish'}).html('Publish');
$('span#help').hide();
$('[id^="form-search"]').prop('action','publish.php');
$('[id^="form-search"]').prop('id', 'form-publish');
var countResults = $('input#total_data').val();
for (var i = 1; i <= countResults; i++) {
$('#lista>select').clone().prop({ id: "cat_"+i, name: "cat_"+i}).appendTo('.category_'+i);
}
$('#lista').remove();
});
});
// when the action point to publish.php === This is what you need
$(document).on('submit','[id^="form-publish"]', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
var url = $(this).attr('action');
$.ajax({
type : 'POST',
url : url,
data : $(this).serialize(),
cache: false,
beforeSend: function(){
// do your pre-processing
}
}).done(function(data) {
// do your post processing.
});
});
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js"></script>

Cannot POST / error when clicking Submit button

I am developing a login page for our mobile app using Phone gap. But whenever I clicked the Submit button, an error 'Cannot POST /' appears. Why is that so? Please see my code below.
index.html
<body>
<div class="main-info2">
<h3>Sign In</h3>
<div class="in-form">
<form id="login_form" method="post"">
<input type="text" placeholder="Username" required=" " id="email" />
<input type="password" placeholder="Password" required=" " id="password" />
<div class="check-sub">
<input type="submit" value="Login" id="login">
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div>
<div class="copy-right">

</div>
</div>
<!-- //main -->
</body>
login.js
$(document).ready(function(){
do_login();
});
function do_login() {
$("#login").click(function () {
var email = $('#email').val();
var password = $('#password').val();
var dataString="email="+email+"&password="+password+"&login=";
if($.trim(email).length>0 & $.trim(password).length>0){
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: "http://localhost:1234/cleverpro/login.php",
dataType: 'json',
data: dataString,
crossDomain: true,
cache: false,
beforeSend: function(){ $("#login").html('Connecting...');},
success: function(data){
if(data == "success"){
console.log("hay nako!");
alert("hala");
}else if(data == "failed"){
$("#login").html('Login');
console.log("hastang sayupa");
alert("halajud");
}
}
});
}else{
return false;
console.log("walay sulod uy");
}
});
}
login.php
<?php
include "db.php";
if(isset($_POST['login'])){
$email=mysql_real_escape_string(htmlspecialchars(trim($_POST['email'])));
$password=mysql_real_escape_string(htmlspecialchars(trim($_POST['password'])));
$login=mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("select * from `user` where `email`='$email' and `password`='$password'"));
if($login!=0){
echo "success";
}else{
echo "failed";
}
}
?>
I didn't know where did I gone wrong with this. Please help me.
First of all it would be better to use on('submit', handler) instead on click. (see Whats the difference between onclick and onsubmit?)
When you clicks "Login", default form send action happens after your javascript code finishes. It means that form POST happens to 'action' of your form that is not set in your form and is '/' by default.
You need to preventDefault action, somethink like this
$('#login_form').on('submit', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
//Your code
});

You need to get the value of the elements, like
var x=document.getElementById("#name").value;
Else you would send the DOM elements (which, converted to a string, would only be 'object')
