Set image src to a url in javascript - javascript

I have an image in my page. I want to change it's src in a script tag.
this is code :
<asp:Image ID="ImgSecode" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/CImage.aspx" CssClass="lblSec"/>
in page CImage , an image will create.
it works.
but when i want to change the picture in script tag,it doesn;t work.
here is javascript code :
document.getElementById('<%= ImgSecode.ClientID %>').src = "CImage.aspx";
In addition when i set the source to an image which is in solution it works.
Can you help me what should i do?

Assuming you use strictly JavaScript based solution you need to use SetAttribute method like this-
document.getElementById("<%=ImgSecode.ClientID %>").setAttribute('src', '<Full Web Path of your Image>');
Or if you are open to Jquery as well the use .attr.
$("[id='ImgSecode']").attr("src", "<Full Web Path of your Image>");
Also as per your question setting .aspx to src is by mistake I guess.

Get image src through jQuery .load()?

so I just had a quick question about jQuery .load().
Is there a way I can load the 'src' field of a div on another page into a variable on my current page? So if it is:
<div class="test"> <img class ="image" src="imagelink">
I would like to get the imagelink in my current HTML page using JS / jQuery. I've tried doing ${#loadhere}.load("URL .image") as per the documentation https://api.jquery.com/load/ but it doesn't seem to get me the image link. My plan is to get the link and then $(#loadhere).attr('src', LINK) as per this SO post: jquery changing image src
If all you want is to parse something from another page using $.get() would be more practical as it won't insert anything into the current page unless you want to yourself.
You can wrap the response html in $() and maniplate or query that html the same as you would do in the current page
$.get('otherPage.html').then(function(res){
const src = $(res).find('.test .image').attr('src');
$('#currentPageImage').attr('src', src)
})

How can you load an external web page into an Iframe with Jquery with Custom variables?

Can you load a page into an iframe with JQuery? I have a page that creates a custom printable pdf and need it to load into an iframe to make it easier for the user. I use jquery to pull in all the variables otherwise I could have it load within the page. I am not sure what I am missing with this command to load the page within id="print_form_modal2"?
$.frameReady(function(){
$("#print_form").prepend('<div id="newDiv"></div>');
$('#newDiv').load("print_audit.php?auditID="+auditID+"&action=print&print_name="+print_name+"&print_orient="+print_orient+"&download_option="+download_option+"&type=pdf");
}));
<iframe id="print_form_modal2" name="iFrame" src="">
You could do it the painless way and just use HTML:
Make an <a>nchor with the href to your PDF.
Add an iframe with a name attribute (ex. name="iframe1")
Next, add a target="iframe1" to the <a>.
PLUNKER
Its simple enough to do what you're trying to do using just JavaScript and HTML
HTML:
<iframe id="print_form_modal2" name="iFrame">
JavaScript:
function openIframe() {
document.getElementById("print_form_modal2").setAttribute("src", "https://www.example.com/");
}
You can see the code in a CodePen here: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/VjbBbY
In your code you need to replace https://www.example.com/ with the source path for PDF you wish to display, and change when openIframe is called to suit your requirements.
Here's a link to the codepen example
What you want to do on document ready (or whatever event is relevant to your logic) get the iframe and using the attr method change its source property to point to whatever new/old source.
Like this:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#iframe-container').attr('src','http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp');
});

Sharepoint image referencing

I can't seem to find the correct encapsulating or prefix syntax for referencing an image located in xxxx site collection.
Right now I have three variations of one image that will be applied to the footer. And these variants are selected based on the site collection, so I can't directly set the image to the masterpage (Unless I want to make three masterpages, which is just overkill for a single image).
I have tried going about this using Javascript to set the source of an img element and CSS to set the url of a container element's background-image. Both are failing me.
In Javascript, I have tried setting the src attribute of my element to:
"<SharePoint:ProjectProperty Property='SiteUrl' runat='server' />/_catalogs/masterpage/Images/myimage.gif;"
"<% $SPUrl:~sitecollection/_catalogs/masterpage/Images/myimage.gif %>";
"~sitecollection/_catalogs/masterpage/Images/myimage.gif";
and repeated the same with CSS for background-image property to a div element. But all I ever get is errors or it doesn't translate the sharepoint code.
Does anyone have any idea what else I can try?

and try the below method to get the URL.
<%script type="text/javascript">
var url = "<%= SPContext.Current.Site.Url %>";
</script>
Hope this helps!
Where exactly is this image stored? Is it in the default "Images" library of a publishing site? If so, you've got the wrong path. It would be "/PublishingImages/myimage.gif".

Replace images with jQuery in userscript

I'm currently working on a userscript, but I have a problem.
I'm trying to replace an image with another one.
I thought I could do it this way:
$(".subforumicon.ajax_mark_read").each(function() {
$(this).html($(this).html().replace(/http:\/\/x\.hackforums\.net\/images\/modern_pl\/minion.gif/g, "http://megaviews.net/hf/designcostumizer/themes/green/minion.png"));
});
However, this will do nothing. When I paste this code in the javascript console, it just displays all img-tags with this picture:
I don't want to replace everything by using $("body").html(), as this can cause problems with the website (somehow).
Before I started working with jQuery, I used document.body.innerHTML, what caused issues on the page, but with document.getElementById() it worked, so I don't think it was my fault. ;)
I'm quite new to jQuery, so could somebody please explain me why my above code doesn't work?
It does not work because the selected elements are img and there is nothing below the img elements.. as .html() selects or sets the INSIDE content (like innerHTML). not outerHTML so you cannot access the attributes of the img element itself by this mean.
You should work on the img's src attribute as already proposed in other posts.
Use .prop()
you need $('img') as you are changing image src only.
so replace img attribute src only.
why traverse through all full html you need to focus on src property only.
$('img').prop('src', function (_, old_src) {
return old_src.replace(/http:\/\/x\.hackforums\.net\/images\/modern_pl\/minion.gif/g, "http://megaviews.net/hf/designcostumizer/themes/green/minion.png");
});
or better if you want to change all images attribute src
$('img').prop('src','http://x.hackforums.net/images/modern_pl/minion.gif');

jQuery tooltip + ajax content

I'm trying to implement a simple rollover tooltip for images on a page where when you roll over an image, you get a little tooltip window and have the contents loaded from a database via AJAX.
I can hack this together quickly but I wanted an elegant way of doing this without using any inline JS.
So my question is: If I capture the rollover event inside my external .js file, how do I pass it the database ID?
I'm using jQuery so I would do something like this:
$('.item_roll').mouseover(function() {
//show tooltip and load ajax content
}
and my HTML would be something like this:
<img src="thumb.png" class="item_roll" />
Without calling a function from the img tag, how do I send the JS call above the database id? I hope that makes sense.
Thanks.
I recommend having both a class and an id in the image tag:
<img src="thumb.png" id="id_28436379" class="item_roll" />
Then in your jQuery event, you can access that like so:
$(".item_roll").mouseover(function(event){
alert( event.target.id.split("_")[1] ); // displays 28436379
});
This should let you access the database id by making it the id of the image tag.
EDIT: After reading some helpful comments, I've changed my answer so that the id does not start with an integer, since this is nonstandard and might not work in all browsers. As you can see, the split/[] code extracts the id number from the id string.
