Adding 1 Year to a Date with JavaScript - javascript

I have the following date:
2014-10-29
I am trying to add one year to the date (not 365 days, but 1 year):

This returns 2020-04-06, which is obviously wrong.
What am I doing wrong here?

Converting DateTimeOffset string value to Date object in javascript

I'm using ASP.NET and I have the following string:

I want to convert the string to Date object and format the output string.
My goal: 04/12/2018 13:53:42
I've tried this way but it logged with the wrong result:

Would it be acceptable to just manipulate the original string directly without converting to a date object like so? I can really tell what the test cases would be but assuming that the hour number is the same length (04,12) I think the following code should work.

how to get my month and date in two digit formats

i am trying to calculate my date to 364 days using javascript, this works as i got a snippet online that functions the way i expect.
But now i have noticed that the date format is in 1 digit.
meaning for the present month instead of september to be written as "09" its wriiten as "9", i am honestly not a javascript king so am looking for help on this.
This is what i am presently trying that gives me a 1 digit date

Format the month into 2 digit format using the following method.
mm = ("0" + mm).slice(-2);
var someFormattedDate = y + '-' + mm + '-' + dd;
or use the following function, which is simple and you can use for date too
function pad(d) {
return (d < 10) ? '0' + d.toString() : d.toString();
}
mm = pad(mm);
you can change the line in your code from
var mm = newdate.getMonth() + 1;
to
var mm = newdate.getMonth()<9 ? '0'+(newdate.getMonth()+ 1) : newdate.getMonth()+1;

I have a string like so

and Now I need to convert it to a date and add 5 days to it.
I have this code that adds 5 days to the current date, but how would I convert that string to a date and add 5 days to it?

Pass the string in to the Date constructor:

You could also use the wonderful library called moment.js - it makes working with dates in JavaScript an absolute breeze. Especially converting them back and forth to/from strings.
With your date and using moment, you could do this for example:
var stringFormat = 'YYYY-MM-DD',
date = moment('2014-10-29', 'YYYY-MM-DD');
date.add(5, 'days');
console.log(date.format(stringFormat);
This will print out the string in the same format as you put in.

Formatting and Calculating dates with javascript

I'm new to javascript and I'm trying to generate a date that is:
A.) Formatted (mm/dd/yyyy)
B.) Displayed as three months later than the actual date.
I've spliced together a few things I could find and is seems to work to return the correct date, but I'm concerned it will break later in the year. Is there a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? The script is below, thanks in advance for the help.

The date object has methods that allows not only to set month, date and year, but get too.

P.S. The scope of var is the function, not block {}. So, if you declared var dt at the top of your scope, you mustn’t use var dt in if statement. It’s a mistake.
You don't need to worry about dealing with the last three months of the year. Adding three months to a a date that causes it to 'overflow' will correctly set it to next year (eg adding three months to November 2015 will produce a date in February 2016).

For what it's worth, your code looks correct. Just unnecessarily complex.
To print todays date you should concat the date values:
var d = new Date();
var str = (d.getMonth() + 1) + '/' + d.getDate() + '/' + d.getFullYear();
if you want to add months to your date:
var d = new Date();
var threeMonthsFromToday = new Date(new Date(d).setMonth(d.getMonth()+3));
var str = (d.getMonth() + 1) + '/' + d.getDate() + '/' + d.getFullYear();

How to get current date in jQuery?

I want to know how to use the Date() function in jQuery to get the current date in a yyyy/mm/dd format.
Date() is not part of jQuery, it is one of JavaScript's features.

You can do it like that:

The code may look like a complex one, because it must deal with months & days being represented by numbers less than 10 (meaning the strings will have one char instead of two). See this jsfiddle for comparison.
If you have jQuery UI (needed for the datepicker), this would do the trick:

jQuery is JavaScript. Use the Javascript Date Object.

In JavaScript you can get the current date and time using the Date object;
var now = new Date();
This will get the local client machine time

You can achieve this with moment.js as well.
Include moment.js in your html.

FYI - getDay() will give you the day of the week... ie: if today is Thursday, it will return the number 4 (being the 4th day of the week).
To get a proper day of the month, use getDate().
