phpcoding special characters

When I load a php page, i put within a javascript function, a name. The problem comes when this string has special chars like '.
Here I paste the code of a click event:
showSocialShare(event, '<?php echo $object->slug; ?>', '<?php echo htmlspecialchars($object->title); ?>', '<?php echo $object->image; ?>')
I thought that the function htmlspecialchars code somehow the string but the result is:
showSocialShare(event, '4049269', 'collection-'Noun'', '/img/Original.jpg')
As can be seen, at the second parameter, the name contains characters like ' and arises an error.
How can I avoid this?

Never output text from PHP directly into a Javascript context. As you're finding out, it's VERY easy to generate JS syntax errors.
Always use json_encode: e.g. given this
<?php $foo = 'bar'; ?>
<script>
var badly_broken = <?php echo $foo ?>;
var working_fine = <?php echo json_encode($foo); ?>;
</script>
You'll end up with
<script>
var badly_broken = bar; // oops - undefined variable "bar"
var working_fine = "bar";
</script>
And note that if you're outputting JS into an HTML attribute, you not only have to generate valid Javascript, you have to output valid HTML AS WELL:
<?php $foo = array('bar' => 'baz'); ?>
<a onclick="brokenCall(<?echo json_encode($foo) ?>)">
<a onclick="workinCall(<? echo htmlspecialchars(json_encode($foo)) ?>)">
produces:
<a onclick="brokenCall({"bar":"baz"})">

document.title funcion can't set it work with php

I have this line of code

document.title = "<?php include('pot1.php');?>"
</script>
My pot1.php gives me an echo with one random number, but that code does not seem to work and I don't know why the echo doesn't appear in my title. Is anything wrong with the code?
pot1.php code:
<?php

$cg = fetchinfo("value","info","name","current_game");
$cb = fetchinfo("cost","games","id",$cg);
$cb=round($cb,2);
echo '$'.$cb;
?>
This echo is working and is giving me values because I can see them in one div.

You should just do it like this:
<?php include('pot1.php');?>
Now we know that there is a variable set. Echo that into the title tag.
<script type="text/javascript">
document.title = "<? echo $cb ?>"
</script>
The way you're doing it now... I don't think you can include an entire PHP page and expect to behave like a simple string, even if that's all it returns.

Put the value you want inside a variable in the pot1.php file and use it on the title
<?php include('pot1.php');?>
<script type="text/javascript">
document.title = "<?php echo $yourVar;?>"
</script>

Problems in passing PHP array to JavaScript

I understand that the format for passing a PHP array to Javascript is:

var obj = <?php echo json_encode($php_variable); ?>;

I have a php function that stores some values in a longitude and latitude array. These array do hold the right values within php since print_r() within php shows me that the array is correct.
print_r($latitude_array);
print_r($longitude_array);
Now, I pass on this array to JS in this manner:
<script>
var lati_array = "<?php echo json_encode($latitude_array); ?>";
var longi_array = "<?php echo json_encode($longitude_array); ?>";
alert(lati_array[0]);
</script>
In the beginning, when I open the HTML file, it shows me an empty array (which is expected because the PHP arrays aren't filled yet). Then user enters something, the php arrays are filled up with longitudes and latitudes. These values should now be passed to JS. However, it doesn't alert anything after that. I can't be sure if array is successfully passed to JS. What am I missing?

Try this:

You are getting a string in lati_array , Try to convert it into json like this:

var lati_array = "<?php echo !empty($latitude_array) ? json_encode($latitude_array) : ''; ?>";
var longi_array = "<?php echo !empty($longitude_array) ? json_encode($longitude_array) : ''; ?>";
lati_array = JSON.parse(lati_array);

Passing a variable in getElementbyID()

Is it possible to pass javascript variable in getElementbyId()??
This is my radio code:
echo '<td><input id="dis1" type="radio" name="select" value="1" /></td>';
echo '<td>'.$poke[0]."<br>";
echo 'Level:'.$level[0]."<br>";
echo 'Health:'.$health[0]."<br></td>";
The below is my javascript code...in which first the id value is stored in PHP cvariable and then stored in javascript and using this javascript variable, I will disable the radio button. !

document.getElementById("dis_value").disabled=true;

But dunno why it seems not to be working?? are there any constraints which I need to follow if I am using a variable in getElementbyID ???

First, if you are generating JavaScript with PHP, then you need to generate real JavaScript. You can't just dump a variable into the script.
As it stands, your generated JavaScript is going to look like:
var dis_value = dis1;
which will throw a reference error since dis1 is not defined.
Convert the contents of your PHP string into a JavaScript string:
var dis_value = <?php echo json_encode($dis_value); ?>
Second, if you want to use a variable, then use a variable, not a string literal.
Remove the quotes.
document.getElementById(dis_value) …
That said, why are you bothering to involve JavaScript in this in the first place?

Uncaught ReferenceError: testString is not defined

This is really weird..
I need to send a couple of variables through to jquery from PHP.. one is an INT and the other a string.
When $a is an INT it works fine but when i use a string, i get this error.. Uncaught ReferenceError: testString is not defined
Here is my code.
<?php $a = 'testString'; ?>
<script type="text/javascript">
var a = <?php echo $a; ?>;
alert(a);
</script>
I assumed that i needed to stick a (int) or (string) before the variable, but i wasn't entirely sure how to and unsuccessful in my googles/attempts.
Any ideas?

You forgot the quotes to make the value of var a a string:
var a = "<?php echo $a; ?>";
What you're writing into the document is:
var a = testString;
so javascript is looking for a variable called testString. Instead, you want the result to be:
var a = "testString";
so make sure you include the quotes around what php is writing in.
