Json array into select box with php - javascript

I hope someone can help me with this issue I have. What I want is a select box, which is getting filled from a json file. The problem is I have a strange kind of json file which I dont know if its array or object.
Here is how it loosk like:
{
"Id": 4,
"Name": "Testing Demo",
"OpeningHours": [
{
"Name": "Monday",
"Hours": "Kl. 09:30:00 - 21:00:00"
}
],
"Address": {
"Street": "Johnson road",
"StreetNumber": "5",
"Town": "London"
},
"Phone1": "4123213414",
"Phone2": null,
"Documents": null,
"Messages": [
{
"Title": "We are on the way",
"Body": "fine",
"Created": "01-02-2014"
},
{
"Title": "Get the stuff",
"Body": "To be ready",
"Created": "01-01-2014"
}
],
"Employees": [
{
"Name": "John Hood",
"Description": "officer",
"ProfileImageUrl": "http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/kty/sports/m-baskbl/auto_headshot/9265204.jpeg"
},
{
"Name": "John hood 2",
"Description": "athletic",
"ProfileImageUrl": "http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/kty/sports/m-baskbl/auto_headshot/9265204.jpeg"
}
]
}
How Iam going to show values of ID and the name?
This code it doesnt work which I dont know if Iam doing it even correctly..
(function($) {
$(document).ready(function() {
$('<tr class="form-field form-required"></tr>').append(
$('<th scope="row">New field</th>')
).append(
$('<td></td>').append(
$('<select id="release-list"></select>')
).append(
$('<p>Explanation about your new field</p>')
)
).insertAfter('#wpbody-content table tr:eq(2)');
});
$.getJSON('../../cache/path.json', function(data) {
var select = $('#release-list');
$.each(data, function(key, val){
$('<option/>').attr('value', val[key]["Id"]).html('value' + val[key]["Name"]).appendTo(select);
});
});
})(jQuery);

you can convert the data from json to array using JSON.parse()
http://www.dyn-web.com/tutorials/php-js/json/parse.php
Example:
var data = '{"first":[1,2,3],"second":[4,5,6]}';
var jsonData = JSON.parse(data);
alert(jsonData.first[1]);
alert(jsonData.second);

So I have the following object from my controller, which has a name, a list of beans and a list of operations:
{
"name": "Charge",
"beans": [
],
"operations": [
{
"name": "getSize",
"returnType": "java.lang.Integer",
"description": "empty description",
"parameters": [

{
"name": "truncate",
"returnType": "java.lang.Void",
"description": "empty description",

},
{
"name": "count",
"returnType": "java.lang.Integer",
"description": "empty description",
"parameters": [
{
"name": "javaCode",
"type": "java.lang.String",
"value": null

},
{

"$$hashKey": "object:620"
}
Basically I want to display all the operations from this object in a dropdown menu.
So I was thinking of having something like:
<div ng-repeat="operation in object.operations">
{{operation.name}}
</div>
Except the code above doesn't display anything on the screen, no errors in the console, nothing.
Any help would be much appreciated!
EDIT:
Javascript service:
app.controller('selectAll', ['$http', '$scope' , '$rootScope', function ($http, $scope, $rootScope) {
$scope.response;
$scope.operations;
$rootScope.$on("invokeSelectAll", function(){
$scope.invokeSelectAll();
});
$scope.invokeSelectAll = function(){
$scope.response = $http.post('/invoke/selectAll/', $rootScope.dataObj);
$scope.object = JSON.stringify($rootScope.object);
console.log(" object operation from selectAll " + $scope.object);
$scope.response.then(function(data) {
$scope.responses = data.data ? data.data : "Select Operation not supported on this bean";
});
}
}]);

Use JSON.stringify() to create a JSON string from a JavaScript object.
Use JSON.parse() to parse a JSON string to a JavaScript object.
In your case, you need to use JSON.parse() because you get a JSON string from the server and want to parse it to a JavaScript object.
$scope.object = JSON.parse($rootScope.object);
you are using JSON.stringify which is used to change javascript object to string and store it as a string only.
You should Parse the data with JSON.parse(), and the data becomes a JavaScript object. and you can easily use that in ng-repeat.
Try it ,It will work fine

Converting JSON data to DOM using jQuery

I'm looking to convert each 'item'(from JSON) to appear inside a section(or div) with the image and its link appearing with the name, id, and price - how would this be done with jQuery. jQuery and JSON are below, I don't currently have any classes in the HTML other than 'placements-title' for the header and 'placements-items' for the section.
Current jQuery:
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: 'pathtoJSONdata.json',
dataType: 'json',
success: function (data) {
$(".placements-title h2").append(data.placements[0].message);
$(".placements-items").append(data.placements[0].items[1].id);
}
});
Use a loop build the html as a string and append it to your desired dom element
var data = {
"placements": [{
"message": "If you like this, you might be into these",
"items": [{
"id": "029148",

get values from JSON given by randomuser.me and loop through to append in divs

hoping to use randomuser.me in a prototype i'm putting together (html, css, jquery)
I need to use its api to access profile photos.
I've got this code puling in the JSON as they show in their documentation:
$.ajax({
url: 'https://randomuser.me/api/?results=5&gender=female',
dataType: 'json',
success: function(data) {
console.log(data);
}
});
Now I need to get the url from the picture value in the JSON and write it to the background-image css of a group of divs...I imagine by creating some kind of loop, anybody have an easy to understand way of doing this?
the JSON returned looks like this:
"results": [
{
"gender": "male",
"name": {
"title": "mr",
"first": "romain",
"last": "hoogmoed"
},
"location": {
"street": "1861 jan pieterszoon coenstraat",
"city": "maasdriel",
"state": "zeeland",
"postcode": 69217
},
"email": "romain.hoogmoed#example.com",

],
"info": {
"seed": "2da87e9305069f1d",
"results": 1,

}
}
If I've got right you need something like this:
$( ".myDivClass" ).each(function( index ) {
$( this ).attr("background-image", results[index].picture.medium));
});
Or if you have in results only one element of array so to do: ...results[0].picture.medium...

How to parse json response in javascript?

After making a call to rest api I am getting this data in javascript.
{
"error": false,
"orders": [
{
"oid": "764",
"cid": "423",
"name": "Akshay jain",
"address": "infront of gwal magra talab",
"mobile": "11111111",
"email": "abcd#gmail.co",
"odate": "2016-03-28 21:50:45",
"status": "NEW ORDER",
"payment": "1",
"ddate": "2016-03-28",
"dtime": "1"
},
{
"oid": "763",
"cid": "438",
"name": "Vishwakarma Ji",
"address": "Narayan Pura Road",
"mobile": "0000000000",
"email": null,
"odate": "2016-03-28 20:02:06",
"status": "Confirmed (Ready for Delivery)",
"payment": "1",
"ddate": "2016-03-28",
"dtime": null
}
]
}
This is how i am storing in controller.
$scope.result = Order.query(); // where Order is a service in angularjs
If i am trying to print $scope.result.error it is giving object object not the actual error value.
How to parse error and orders in javascript and save it in a variable?
If this Order.Query is async, you have to set the result in a callback
app.controller("OrderIndexCtrl",function($scope,Order) {
Order.query(function(data){
if(data.error == false) {
$scope.result = data.orders;
}
else {
...
}
});
});
Try using the following code.
$scope.result = JSON.parse(Order.query());

Having trouble using data retrieved with json in javascript, cannot sort the array

I am trying to sort out the data I retrieved from an api with javascript.
Code :
function getResults() {
var url = $.getJSON("http://api.api.com&leagues=SOCENGPRE&lang=en&format=jsonp&callback=?", function(jsondata){;
for(var i = 0; i < jsondata.length; i++)
for(var id in jsondata[i]) {
console.log("ID - " + id);
console.log("TEAM - " + jsondata[i][id].home_team);
}
});
}
Example of data retrieved :
{
"SOCENGPRE": {
"league_name": "Barclays Premier League",
"league_phid": null,
"league_type": null,
"fixtures": [
{
"id": "64714",
"code": "SOCENGPRE",
"event_slug": "west_ham-tottenham-1401290",
"home_team": "West Ham",
"away_team": "Tottenham",
},
{
"id": "64711",
"code": "SOCENGPRE",
"event_slug": "manchester_u-sunderland-1401286",
"home_team": "Manchester U",
"away_team": "Sunderland"
}
But using my code I cannot seem to get the results I am wanting.
I want to print out every games ID and Home Team. Any insights on why is my code not working? Thank you very much in advance!
UPDATE: I have removed the extra semi-colon but it's still not printing the data for me.
UPDATE 2: Regarding the requests for the URL. When I call it in a browser I get this huge result

Change your getResults function to be called after the JSON has been parsed, like so:
var myDataVar;
$.ajax({
url: "URL to JSON file here",
dataType: "text", //If you get an error here, change the type to "text"
success: function (data) {
myDataVar = $.parseJSON(data);
getResults();
}
});
The above code will save the JSON file's parsed data into a single variable.
It will then call a function to get the results, being this function:
function getResults() {
var fixturesLength = myDataVar.SOCENGPRE.fixtures.length - 1;
for (var i = 0; i <= fixturesLength; i++) {
console.log(myDataVar.SOCENGPRE.fixtures[i].id);
}
}
The above loop will print to the console every one of your fixtures ID's.
