If you don't want to reload the page, then you can try:
foreach ($res as $row) {
echo '<tr><td><button id="pupShow" name="'.$row["ID"].'" onclick="return false;">'.$row["SubjectName"].'</button> </td></tr>';
}
or
$("button#pupShow").click(function (el) {
el.preventDefault();
var data = 'nume=' + el.val()
$.ajax({
url: "subID.php",
type: "POST",
data: data,
cache: false,
success: function (html) {
if (html) {
// animations here
alert('Success! Form submitted');
} else{
alert('Error! Please try again');
}
}
});
I didn't test it but it should help you understand how the function will look like.

So you want to submit some data without refreshing the page? Since you're using jQuery, you can do something like this:
$.post("test.php", {name: "Mathematics"}).done(function(data) {
console.log("Response loaded: " + data);
});

Ajax call to submit text into database don't work

I have a page where users can put comments below photos, everything works fine in php, comments go to the database and displayed below the photo.
Now I'm trying to make it work with ajax but I have some troubles.
I have an javascript document with this:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#btnSubmit").on("click", function(e){
var update = $("#activitymessage").val()
$.ajax({
method: "POST",
url: "./ajax/save_comment.php",
//data: { update: update}, - first version, not correct
data: { activitymessage: update},
datatype: 'json'
})
.done(function(response) {
console.log("ajax done");
console.log (response.message);
var ht = "<li>" + update + "</li>";
$("#listupdates").append(ht);
});
e.preventDefault();
});
});
The php page (save_comment.php) where I tell what to do with the input text:
<?php
spl_autoload_register(function ($class) {
include_once("../classes/" . $class . ".class.php");
});
$activity = new Comment();
if (!empty($_POST['activitymessage'])) {
$activity->Text = $_POST['activitymessage'];
try {
//$activity->idPost = $_GET['nr'];
//$activity->idUser = $_SESSION['user_id'];
// with this it works, but not yet correct
$activity->idPost = 66;
$activity->idUser = 3;
$activity->SavePost();
$response['status'] = 'succes';
$response['message'] = 'Update succesvol';
} catch (Exception $e) {
$error = $e->getMessage();
$response['status'] = "error";
$response['message'] = $feedback;
}
header('Content-type: application/json');
echo json_encode($response);
}
There is also the file Comment.class.php with the 'Comment' class and the function SavePost(). This works without ajax, so I assume the function is correct.
What works
the comment (var update) is printed on the screen into the list.
The console says : "ajax done"
What don't work
The input text don't insert into the database (and disappears when page refresh)
The console says: "undefined" (there must be something wrong with the 'response I use in this function)
I hope you guys can help me out. Thanx
update
I changed the: data: { activitymessage: update} line in the js file, and set manually values for the $activity->idPost = 66; $activity->idUser = 3; And everything works !
Only one thing I want to get fixed
the values of the $_GET['nr'] and $_SESSION['user_id'] are now set manually. Is this possible to get these automatic?
The $_GET['nr'] is the id of the page were the photo is and the comments. In this way I can make a query that returns all comments for this page.
The $_SESSION['user_id'] is the id of the user,so I can echo the username and profile photo.
You are sending data with the key being update not activitymessage
Change data to:
data: { activitymessage: update}
Or change $_POST['activitymessage'] to $_POST['update']
Also you have no $_GET['nr'] in url used for ajax. Nothing shown would help us sort that out but you would need the url to look more like:
url: "./ajax/save_comment.php?nr=" + nrSourceValue,
Not sure why you need to use $_GET['nr'] and don't use $_POST for that also and and nr property to data object being sent

load() function won't allow scripts on page to execute

I have a php script which has a select box which allows user to filter some data.And I have used change event on select box to trigger jquery's load function to load a div of another page which will show that filtered data.Now the problem is I have a javascript function which is being called from that page upon some check in php , and this is resulting in that javascript function not getting called at all.Is there any work around in this scenario?I tried using $.get() but I'm not sure if it will allow me to load only part of page.
This is the load() function's call
$('document').ready(function() {
$('#topic-filter-select').on('change' , function(e) {
$.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: templateUrl+"/ajax/custom_ajax_functions.php",
data : {
functionName : 'load_topic_filter',
topic_id : e.target.value
},
success: function(result) {
for(var i=0;i<result.length;i++)
result[i] = parseInt(result[i]);
result = JSON.stringify(result);
$('#activity-container').empty();
$('#activity-container').load("/topic-filter-template?result="+result+" #topic-page");
},
error: function(error) {
$('#post-0').empty();
$('#post-0').append("<div id='filtered-activities'><h4>Something went wrong , please try again.</h4></div>");
}
});
});
});
And the php check which gives call to javascript function is
<?php $result = has_user_voted($poll_id , $current_user_id);?>
<?php if($result[0] == true) :?>
<?php echo '<script type="text/javascript">animatePollEffect('.json_encode($result).','.$poll->ID.')</script>';?>
<?php endif; ?>
there your question and code snippet creating a lots of confusion. Please, correct it properly to understand what you want exactly.

Is it possible to load content of page without Refreshing the whole page

Actually i want to refresh my content of a page without Refreshing the whole page through JavaScript or j Query ....... and i did my whole project into ( Php or javaScript) so i face such type of problem
Note : i want to refresh my page content when user do some action
Here is my Code:
//On Button click, the below will be execute:
$('body').on('click', '#click', loadDoc);
and the LoadDoc functio:
function loadDoc() {
//alert('heruybvifr');
var _this = $(this);
var order_id= $(this).parents('.modal').find('.order-id').text();
$.get('myPHP.php',{order_id: order_id},function(){
_this.hide();
})
}
Now myPHP.php :
<?php
include("connection.php");
$limit = intval($_GET['order_id']);
echo $valuek;
$query="UPDATE orders
SET status ='cooking'
WHERE id = $limit";
if (mysqli_query($connection,$query)) {
echo "Record updated successfully";
} else {
echo "Error updating record: " . mysqli_error($connection);
}
?>
Yes you can use the jQuery.ajax() call. Like this:
Change the text of a element using an AJAX request:
$("button").click(function(){
$.ajax({url: "demo_test.txt", success: function(result){
$("#div1").html(result);
}});
});
See this tutorial for more information:
http://www.w3schools.com/jquery/ajax_ajax.asp
You can use JQuery Ajax functions to accomplish your requirement.
all there functions given below will work for loading the content without refreshing the page.
$.post("/controller/function", params, function(data) {
// set received data to html
});
$.ajax("/controller/function", params, function(data) {
// set received data to html
});
$.get("/controller/function", params, function(data) {
// set received data to html
});
You can load the data from the server and and place the returned HTML into the matched element.
<div id="content"></div>
$("#content").load( "ajax/test.html" );

JQuery / AJAX delete item from database

I'm trying to make a CRUD in jquery/ajax/php for learning purposes.
But I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with the delete part.
My goal is to delete an record from the database without refreshing the page.
Ajax function:
$(document).on('click', '.deleteOrder', function(e){
var id = $(this).attr('id');
console.log('Clicked order: ' + id);
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
url: 'orders/deleteorder/',
data: {
orderId: id
},
success: function(data){
updateOrder(e);
},
error: function(){
console.log('error');
}
});
});
Php function:
public function deleteOrder(){
$orderId = $_POST['id'];
$count=$this->connection->prepare("DELETE FROM orders WHERE orderNumber = :number");
$count->bindParam(":number",$orderId,PDO::PARAM_INT);
$count->execute();
echo 'Finished order ' . $orderId;
}
First check the delete function called or not through ajax, in browser Network tab (you see this when clicking F12 button in browser)
you did not call deleteOrder function .

From a running PHP Code, how to update status in DIV tag

I have a web Page, in which i an downloading data one after another in a loop. After each data download is finished i want to update the status to a DIV tag in the Web Page. How can i do this. Connecting to server and downloading data via php code and the div tag is within the .phtml page.
i have tried
echo "
<script type=\"text/javascript\">
$('#tstData').show();
</script>
";
But the echo statement update will happen at the end only. Refreshing of DIV tag need to happen at the end of each download.
Use jQuery load()
$('#testData').load('http://URL to script that is downloading and formatting data to display');
$("#save_card").submit(function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
var url = "card_save.php"; // the script where you handle the form input.
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: url,
dataType:"json",
data: $("#save_card").serialize(), // serializes the form's elements.
success: function(data)
{
console.log(data);
if(data.msg=="success")
{
$("#submit_msg").html("Thank You !!!");
console.log("Record has been Inserted Successfully!!!");
}
else
{
$("#submit_msg").html(data.er);
console.log("There Is Some Error");
}
$("#submit_msg").show();
setTimeout(function() { $("#submit_msg").hide(); }, 5000);
$("#save_card").get(0).reset();
}
});
return false; // avoid to execute the actual submit of the form.class_master
});
Use This Ajax function to call PHP function to get data. Here
#save_card = Id of the form that you want to submit.
url = action for the form or the location to the php file from where your data is coming.
data: $("#save_card").serialize() = it is sending all the data of the form in serialize form. Data can be created manually to do this repalce this line with data: {'name':name,'year':year}
function(data) = here data is returned from the php code in json formate.
data.msg = It is a way to access different field from data.
$user_email = $_REQUEST['user_email'];
$cat_id = $_REQUEST['category'];
$title = $_REQUEST['title'];
$country = $_REQUEST['country'];
$date = date("Y-m-d H:i:s");
$sql = "INSERT INTO project(title, user_email, cat_id, country, start_date) VALUES ('$title','$user_email','$cat_id','$country', '$date')";
if (mysql_query($sql)) {
$project_id = mysql_insert_id();
echo json_encode(array('project_id' => $project_id, 'msg' => 'Successfully Added', 'status' => 'true'));
} else {
echo json_encode(array('msg' => 'Not Added', 'status' => 'false'));
}
