Dynamics Crm 2011 - Dashboard Auto-Refresh - javascript

I am looking for a way to access the operation the dashboard ribbon calls when refresh all is clicked. So I can use it to auto-refresh a specific dashboard made up of girds.
It cannot be a full-screen dashboard as the ribbon is needed to work with some of the data in the girds. When I was doing my initial research this seemed like the most popular method but due to the dependency on the ribbon it doesn't work for me.
The second means I found of getting this done was to alter the refresh all in the ribbon, but I don't want to make the auto refresh available globally.
The closest solution I could find was to add a web part to the dashboard with the following JavaScript.
setTimeout("parent.location.reload(true);", 20000);
While this works it's a bit jarring when the whole dashboard disappears as it reloads. So I was hoping there was a way to refresh a dashboard from a web part in the same manner the girds refresh when you click refresh all in the ribbon or the refresh icon in a grid.
Surprisingly I wasn't able to find too much info on this. AppGridWebService.ashx?operation=Refresh is what is called when refresh is clicked.

Browser Back button is not working for some feature in stimulus js

I have implemented stimulus js in rails hotwire. For other features, the browser back button is working fine, unfortunately, for the product detail page, whenever I use the browser back button, it stays on one page. After trying 2/3 times, it shows the URL of the previous page. But it does not take me to the previous page until I reload.
I have already shared a short video and code on GitHub as a stimulus.js issue. Url is added below:
No custom routing has been used at the frontend level.
Turbo has been used on the page.

Tabbed Page layout lost state when when refreshed

We have designed the application with tabbed pages layout.
Tabbed Page Style
the tabs are page and are created on click of menu, these are and added in parent container as child DOM element,it is a new form which has input elements,we could have many tabbed pages at a time. my application is in Spring MVC ,PostgresSQL ,Jquery.
What happens when refreshed, lost all the added dynamic new tabs (tabs are pages and we lost the current state).
I could share the reference code if required.
Please suggest how could I manage the state of application.
Window reload/refresh is a pure browser event that ends the execution of the page, you can't really have script continuity after it.
One option is to attach an alert to window.onbeforeunload informing the user that the content will be lost if they reload - this will work with closing the window and refreshing it.
If, however, you need to be able to reload (eg, to load fresh data in the tabs) while preserving tabs, you can use window.onbeforeunload to prompt the user whether they want to save the data/layout before closing, and if so, execute an AJAX call to the server, where you save the tabs (associating it with the session). This would mean that on loading the page you need to first check if there is tab data associated with the session, and load from there.
Other option - and this would be my preference - is to use window.localStorage to save the data on user's disk, and on page load check if there is data in localStorage. It has pretty wide browser support at this point, and there are good libraries that make using it a breeze. I have used store.js and can vouch for its ease and reliability.

is it possible to prevent oracle apex from submitting a page until a user clicks on a refresh button on that page?

I have just started working with Oracle APEX and would like users to be able to download reports from my application. The problem is I have a number of reports which have a large number of rows. Each time a user clicks on a page tab, the page is resubmitted and the query for the reports are executed again. This results in a lot of delay and is becoming frustrating for the users!
Is it possible to stop APEX from resubmitting the page until the user clicks a refresh button or is it possible to stop the query for reports from executing everytime the user clicks on a page tab?
To prevent submitting you can change the page template. Open page properties, in the section Shared Components find Templates. Near the word Page you will see a link to its template. Follow this link, then find a section Standard Tab Attributes. In the field Current Tab you will see something like this:
<li>#TAB_LABEL##TAB_INLINE_EDIT#</li>
Change this value to:
<li><a class="active">#TAB_LABEL#</a>#TAB_INLINE_EDIT#</li>
After that an active item in a menu will be displayed as a static text, not as a link.
All pages with this page template will have this behavior. If you don't need to change behavior of all pages: before changing template make copy of it, change the copy and choose the new template in a page properties.
Have you tried with the conditions?? I pretty new with Apex too, I had a similar problem, what I did was put conditions to the buttoms and regions.
After that I good a nice result. Hope it helps you.
Good luck

Dynamically add Like Buttons to a page

I'm building a page that is aggregating other pages in a Wordpress site, and displaying snippets of information about them along with a 'Like' button. Right now I'm using the iFrame option.
What happens is when a user clicks on a video, it displays it in a Feature area with the video, some text, and a Like button. This HTML is generated from a template and created after a user clicks on a video to watch it. There isn't a page refresh.
If I use the HTML5 version of the Like button, it never gets rendered, which I'm guessing is because the Like div never exists when the Facebook init is called. I'd like to not use the iFrame version though, because it doesn't seem to let me allow people to comment on their like.
Is there a way to have Facebook re-scan for elements to render? I know that Twitter will allow you to do this by running twttr.widgets.load() at any time to have it rescan for things to render.
Just call this function after loading the dynamic site, i am pretty sure it´s what you need:

how to navigate to previous page without refreshing it.in HTML

HI i have a ExtJS code on the front end. the drop downs on this page are loaded dynamically thru web-service call to 3rd party service. i have navigated from this page to the results page.
Now in results page i have a button which allows the user to go back to previous page. but all the data in the drop down should be retained.
i tried window.history.go(-1) and history.back()
Guys please help me.
If the navigation page is under different url than result page then it's not possible. You probably should save state of that menu for example in cookies, or in session on server so you could restore that state for each client. Also HTML5 client-side storage is an option.
Another possibility is to change the way result page loads, so you won't need reload page to go back (for example use AJAX).
I am using now extjs4 mvc design. We have a single html page, multiple views, a model and a controller.
On navigating to a new view, you need to hide the previous panels and when going back show the previous panel. This solved my problem of navigating and retaining view.
As above this is not suitable for mvc if you use it for multiple apps and older design where we use onReady().
