Overlap datalabels line chart highcharts - javascript

How i can solve the problem of the values (dataLabels) below?
My JSFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/3kVJS/3/
...
series: [{
name: 'zzzzzz',
data: [17.00, 1.00, 5.00, 0.00, 0.00, 35.00, 6.00, 13.00, 233.00, 2.00, 41.00],
tooltip: {
shared: true,
useHTML: true,
showInLegend: false,
pointFormat: '<span style=\"color:{series.color}; text-shadow: 0 1px 1px #ddd;\">{series.name}</span>: <span style=\"font-size:14px!important\"> {point.y}</span><br/>'
}
}
Thanks!!!

Just add this inside tooltips you will get it what to do.
tooltip: {
style: {
padding: 20,
fontWeight: 'bold',
fontSize: '30px',
}
},

Highcharts doesn't prevent from dataLabels overlapping. I have created simple module which prevent's from this, see simple demo: http://jsfiddle.net/menXU/1/
Use module by calling StaggerDataLabels(series);, where series is array of all series in chart object.
In the fact it's duplicate of this question, but I couldn't report this.

Hai Just add verticalAlign: 'bottom', instead of using verticalAlign: 'top', at the plotOptions.

Apex Chart - How to target and style one specific grid line?

Does anyone has clue how to target specific grid line and style like in the example?
I know how to dash line with:
grid: {
strokeDashArray: 10,
},
But how can I target grid line according to the tick value?
Desired result
Only way you can do it is via css
.apexcharts-gridline:nth-child(2) {
stroke-dasharray: 10;
}
Or use annotations instead https://apexcharts.com/docs/annotations/
I have sorted it by using annotations property. Here is an example:
// Breakdown line
annotations: {
position: 'front',
yaxis: [
{
y: 3000,
strokeDashArray: 5,
label: {
position: 'left',
borderColor: 'transparent',
textAnchor: 'middle',
offsetY: -10,
offsetX: 50,
style: {
color: '#D0D4D9',
background: "transparent",
},
text: ''
}
}
]
}

Reduce space between legend text and icon in Highchart

Is it possible to reduce the space between the number and icon? I am using angular 8 and highchart. Below is the chart legend config.
this.legend = {
align: 'center',
verticalAlign: 'bottom',
layout: 'horizontal',
symbolRadius: 0,
symbolHeight: 8,
reversed: true,
padding: 3,
itemStyle: {
color: '#000000',
fontWeight: 'normal',
fontFamily: 'Roboto'
}
};
You are searching for symbolPadding option
The pixel padding between the legend item symbol and the legend item
text.
Defaults to 5.
legend: {
symbolPadding: 1
}

How do I remove padding from both sides of Highcharts area category chart?

There's too much padding on either side of the area chart and minPadding/maxPadding doesn't work with categories.
I want the area chart to start and end without any padding.
My code is below:
http://jsfiddle.net/nx4xeb4k/1/
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
type: 'area',
inverted: false
},
title: {
text: 'Too Much Padding On Either Side'
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
fillOpacity: 0.1
}
},
xAxis: {
type: 'category'
},
yAxis: {
title: {
text: 'Data Point'
}
},
legend: {
enabled: false
},
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '<b>{point.y}</b> points'
},
series: [{
name: 'Visits',
data: [
["Monday", 58],
["Tuesday", 65],
["Wednesday", 55],
["Thursday", 44],
["Friday", 56],
["Saturday", 65],
["Sunday", 69]
],
dataLabels: {
enabled: false,
rotation: -90,
color: '#FFFFFF',
align: 'right',
format: '{point.y:.1f}',
y: 10,
style: {
fontSize: '14px',
fontFamily: 'Verdana, sans-serif'
}
}
}]
});
A colleague of mine solved this very situation for some of my charts. Their solution was to remove the type: 'category' from the x-axis (making it a linear type instead) and instead replace the axis labels from an array.
Here's what's been changed:
First, I added an array of your x-axis labels.
var categoryLabels = ["Monday","Tuesday","Wednesday","Thursday","Friday",
"Saturday","Sunday"];
Next, I updated your series values to hold only the y-axis values.
series: [{
name: 'Visits',
data: [58, 65, 55, 44, 56, 65, 69],
Then, for your x-axis, I included a formatter function to pull in the labels from the array as substitutes for the default linear values.
xAxis: {
labels: {
formatter: function(){
return categoryLabels[this.value];
}
}
},
Lastly, I updated the tooltip options to show the values from the labels array.
tooltip: {
formatter: function () {
return categoryLabels[this.x] + ': ' + Highcharts.numberFormat(this.y,0);
}
},
I updated your fiddle with this tweaks: http://jsfiddle.net/brightmatrix/nx4xeb4k/4/
I hope you'll find this solution as useful as I have!
According to API, the default value of highcharts.xAxis.tickmarkPlacement is between and this is why the point of each category drops between two ticks on xAxis in your chart.
By setting highcharts.xAxis.tickmarkPlacement to on and playing around the value of highcharts.xAxis.min and highcharts.xAxis.max like this, you should be able to achieve what you want.
You can declare the min / max values to fix the problem.
var categoryLabels = ["Monday","Tuesday","Wednesday","Thursday","Friday","Saturday","Sunday"];
//....
xAxis: {
min: 0.49,
max: categoryLabels.length - 1.49,
categories: categoryLabels,
type: 'category'
},

Highcharts data labels not showing on multiple xAxis and yAxis

I am using two xAxis and three yAxis in this example. As you can see the data labels for the two purple lines show as expected. But when you change the zoom level to anything more than 3m, the dataLabels hide.
I am using:
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
allowOverlap: true,
align: 'left',
verticalAlign: 'top',
x: 0,
y: -18,
zIndex: 1000,
crop: false,
overflow: 'none',
inside: true,
padding: 0,
maxPadding: 0,
formatter: function() {
return 'Other';
}
}
for one, and just allowOverlap: true for the other. None of them seem to work. Any suggestions?
The issue is caused by dataGrouping, which group points when you set range above 3m. The solution is define formatter in plotOptions.series object, instead of point.

Highcharts - Display legend for Pie chart in two columns

I have been using Highcharts(v2.1.9) to generate some pie charts. The charts are generated quite well, however I am having some problems with displaying the legend.
The legend shows in vertical view, but instead of all the legend items showing, some are hidden. I believe this is due to the navigation option being automatically enabled, which pages all of the other legend items that do not fit within the container.
Instead of paging the rest of the legend items, I want to show them in a second column, side by side with the first column.
This data is dynamic so the number of legend items/pie sectors may change over time. The solution must be able to handle more than two columns if the sectors increase.
I think one way to turn off the navigation option is to use the useHTML: true option but I haven't been able to style it in the way that I want.
Here is the fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/7fb3x9ys/
$(function () {
$(document).ready(function () {
// Build the chart
$('#container').highcharts({
chart: {
plotBackgroundColor: null,
plotBorderWidth: null,
plotShadow: false,
borderWidth: 0,
width: 800,
height: 280
},
credits: {
enabled: false
},
legend: {
borderWidth: 0,
labelFormatter: function() {
var total = 0, percentage;
$.each(this.series.data, function() {
total+=this.y;
});
percentage=((this.y/total)*100).toFixed(2);
return '<span style="color:#000000,font-size:12px !important;"><b>'+ this.name + '</b></span><br/><span style="color:#000000,font-size:12px !important;">'+percentage+'%</span>';
},
verticalAlign: 'middle',
x:185,
y:0,
layout: 'vertical',
width: 600,
height:280,
itemWidth: 600,
symbolWidth: 7,
symbolHeight: 28
},
title: {
text: ''
},
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '{series.name}: <b>{point.percentage:.1f}%</b>'
},
plotOptions: {
pie: {
allowPointSelect: true,
cursor: 'pointer',
size: 275,
center: ["16%", "50%"],
dataLabels: {
enabled: false,
},
showInLegend: true,
minSize: 130,

'#E16553',
'#E3985E',
'#E4BF80',
'#75C494',
'#52584B'
]
}
},
series: [{
type: 'pie',
name: 'Sector',
data:{"data":[["ENERGY",17.4],["FINANCIALS",15.1],["CONSUMER STAPLES",14.9],["UTILITIES",14.88],["MATERIALS",7.59],["REAL ESTATE",7.24],["TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES",7.08],["CONSUMER DISCRETIONARY",6.95],["INDUSTRIALS",5.28],["HEALTH CARE",2.64],["CASH",0.95]]}.data
}]
});
});
});
I want to thank all responses in advance. I have been stuck on this for a few days now and any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can try laying out the legends horizontally and setting itemWidth to something greater than 80. That worked for me.
Example:
legend: {
itemWidth: 80
}
