I need to find if a user has visited a link before moving on to the next page. I am trying to force them to proof a final PDF they have generated. If the link was not visited I need an alert box, if it was obviously false.
From what I can tell I will probably need both Jquery and PHP to do this. Has anyone ever ran into this issue before with results?
Why not set a global js variable with a value? If they value doesn't match when 'next' is clicked then show the alert.
Shouldn't need PHP for this.

I am testing a website with Cypress; this website has the classic popup to accept cookies in the bottom part of the page.
Since i'm testing a part of the website where there are a form with multiple steps (a page with some data, button next, another page, etc.), my issue is that every single time this cookie popup appears again for every page.
I think it's something about saving data in localStorage, but I'm not sure how to manage it. I tried just putting cy.saveLocalStorage() after the cy.get('a#cookiePopup').click() , but it says that cy.localStorage is not a function.
Any suggestion would be appreciated!
Solved: I found this that explains how to put cy.preserveOnce('<name-of-your-cookie>') in the beforeEach loop at start.
I'm putting this here for future reference.
I wanted to make specific inputs go into another part of a site (e.g. https://myexamplesite.com/anotherpartofit.html)
And also make those specific inputs be the ones that someone saved it in.
An example of what I think would work is: Get value from input 1 from /apartofit.html and put it in input 2 at /anotherpartofit.html and make it non-editable
If it needs to use a database, I would prefer if you could help me with firebase (Google's Database). But in my knowlege, it probably needs to use javascript, so I'll be tagging it, if it doesn't, let me know!
in visual studio or notepad or every offline web creating spaces you can't but if you buy a domain or simple , online site , you have to crate a page and get the link of that page then open another page create a button set the button's href to link of pervious page finally hit the button !
Im using Selenium to open a page. After I open the page, I want to click a some sort of refresh button. When I click it, Im getting this error:
ElementNotVisibleError: element not visible
This is the code I use to click the button:
driver.findElement(By.id(id)).click();
My guess is that the button goes not visible whenever it is pushed. And that maybe it starts off not visible as well. Cause it doesnt do a full page refresh.
Any way for selenium to check if something is visible, and maybe wait until it is?
Edit:
As it turns out, there are multiple buttons with the same ID. And the button I am trying to reach are way down. I tried to find the button with By.xpath, but I still couldnt find it. The way I did it, was to search for button by id, like this //button[contains(#id, 'abc')][1]. (Different number of course).
Selenium could not find the element, but I could find it with Chrome developer tools. Any suggestions?
Solution: 1 You can try using this code in a syso,
System.out.println("getting Page Source "+driver.getPageSource());
This method will return the entire page Source and you can check whether your button exists in the source or not. You can place the above code at several points in your function and check until you find the button in the source.
Solution: 2 In case your button does not exist in the source you will have to check and see whether the button is getting loaded in an iframe and if so you can use the following code and switch to the iframe and and then try finding the button,
driver.switchTo.frame(frameName);
In your case you could use Explicit wait to check when the element/button is clickable.
Try doing this
wait.until(ExpectedConditions.visibilityOfElementLocated(id))
I need to store some dynamic variables in a Json file (i was told this would work) to be able to load them in multiple pages. Per example a customer should be able to select one thing in one page (a highlighted div) and then go to another page, select some items there and be able to go pack to the other page and that div is still selected. (Variables remembered) Now i tried to google and search here but found nothing matching my description. Please help me!
Try using localstorage, store selected values by user in localstorage and check this at page ready or load if it exists in loacalstorage show that value or div with highlight as per your functionality and if localstorage doesn't had a value then consider it as first time user come to this page.
but be careful using localstorage as you have to clear it when you done with it, it may cause memory leakage problem.
I have been looking for information about this but I don't get with the solution.
I have some text fields on a page which I get updated on blur making use of jQuery events.
There's no form to submit, the update took place in the background using jQuery $.post.
If a user updates those inputs, then clicks on a link to go to another section of the page and then comes back using the browser's back button, those inputs won't show the last values set by the user but the previous ones in case there were, or empty text inputs if there weren't.
Users are reporting this as a bug (even is more a browser behavior), and I wonder if there is any solution for this.
I have been taking a look at things like this or this, but they don't solve the problem I have. I have no forms, I have no submit and I don't want to reset the form.
I've noticed this problem doesn't take place in IE 9 and either in Firefox but it does on Chrome.
The user can navigate to different pages (more than 30) with more than 12 text fields in each and therefor I have discarded the idea of storing them on sessions.
Is there any way to solve it?
Thanks.
I do not know if my solution can solve you're problem , but:
what if you bind data to you're input? e.g you can set dinamically data on input
$('input').data( 'val' , $(this).val());
and then re-bind it through
$('input').val( $(this).data() ) ;
Do not follow exactly these lines of code , I'm trying to give you an idea of what I'm wondering. I hope that it can help you.
