textboxes are not displaying one by one on tabclick using jquery - javascript

Hi i want to show textboxes one by one on tab press.
First i need t display 1 textbox then after pressing tab 2nd textbox will display with focus .then 3rd and 4th with same process.
I am able to display textboxes but after 1st textbox when i press tab instead of textbox ,all textboxes are displaying.
Here is my code:
function showstep2() {
document.getElementById('step2').style.visibility = 'visible'
document.getElementById('newOrdQuan').focus();
}
function showstep3() {
document.getElementById('step3').style.visibility = 'visible';
document.getElementById('takeOutAmt').focus();
}
function showstep4() {
document.getElementById('step4').style.visibility = 'visible';
document.getElementById('compsPerWeek').focus();
}
<table style="width: 270px; border: 2px navy solid;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td><form name="form1">
<table style="width: 100%;" align="left">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>How many TakeOut Orders do You do each week?</td>
<td><input tabindex="1" type="text" name="prevOrdQuan" id="prevOrdQuan" size="6" value="7" onblur=" doCalc1(); showstep2();" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<table id="step2" style="width: 100%; visibility: hidden;" align="left">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>How many NEW TakeOut Orders do You expect each week? (15% Expected)</td>
<td><input tabindex="2" type="text" name="newOrdQuan" id="newOrdQuan" size="6" value="7" onblur="doCalc(); showstep3();" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<table id="step3" style="width: 100%; visibility: hidden;" align="left">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>How Much Is Your Average Takeout Order?</td>
<td>
<input tabindex="3" type="text" name="takeOutAmt" id="takeOutAmt" size="6" value="20" onblur="doCalc2(); showstep4();" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<table id="step4" style="width: 100%; visibility: hidden;" align="left">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>How Many Times a Week do You Comp an Order? (5% expected)</td>
<td><input tabindex="4" type="text" name="compsPerWeek" id="compsPerWeek" size="6" value="1" onblur="doCalc(); showstep5();" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>

this might be what you are looking for.. http://jsbin.com/oBeritE/1
here's the code.. remove the onblur="" scripts.. jQuery can handle events..
// the next step to be shown
var nextStep = 2 ;
// first 2 blank to equal with nextStep..
var focusArr = ['', '' ,'newOrdQuan' , 'takeOutAmt', 'compsPerWeek','avgProfitPerOrder'];
// put your do functions inside the function() {} ..
var doFuncs = {
do1 : function() {
//alert('function 1') ;
} ,
do2 : function() {
//alert('put function 2 ' );
},
do3 : function() {
//alert('function 3 here' ) ;
},
do4 : function() {
//alert('function 4 here' ) ;
}
};
// storing functions in array..
// first two zeros to equal with nextStep..
var doArr= [0,0] ;
var i = 2 ;
for(var d in doFuncs ) {
doArr[i] = d ; i++ ;
}
// simple function to show steps..
function showStep(index) {
$('#step' + index).css('visibility','visible');
// focus next textbox ..
$('#' + focusArr[index]).focus() ;
// the apporipriate function will be called...
doFuncs[doArr[index]]() ;
}
$(document).ready(function() {
// put focus on first
$('#prevOrdQuan').focus();
// check for keypress
$('body').bind('keyup',
function(e){
// all you need is tab, right? so we call showStep whenever it is pressed..
if(e.keyCode === 9) {
showStep(nextStep) ;
nextStep++ ; }
// remove checking for keypress after all steps have finished
if(nextStep > 6) $('body').unbind('keyup') ;
});
});

How to calculate to variable in javascript and print them in the html page

I try to get result from html table witch excepted only numbers i check them throw if statement if variable 1 bigger than variable 2 print content and that works good.
Now i am trying in the if statement to print variable 1 - variable 2 but it doesn't wanna work.
Here is the snippet:
$(document).ready(function() {
var vastInkomen = 0;
$('.txtBox').keyup(function() {
vastInkomen = 0;
$('.txtBox').each(function() {
var txtBoxVal = $(this).val();
vastInkomen += Number(txtBoxVal);
});
$('#vastInkomen').val(vastInkomen);
writeResult();
});
var vastLasten = 0;
$('.vast_lasten').keyup(function() {
vastLasten = 0;
$('.vast_lasten').each(function() {
var vastLastenVal = $(this).val();
vastLasten += Number(vastLastenVal);
});
$('#vastLasten').val(vastLasten);
writeResult();
});
function writeResult() {
if (vastInkomen !== 0 && vastLasten !== 0) {
if (vastInkomen > vastLasten) {
$('#result').text("Some text and work good!") +
vastLasten - vastInkomen;
} else if (vastInkomen < vastLasten) {
//$('#result-amount').console(vastInkomen -vastLasten);
$('#result').text("some text and work good.");
}
}
}
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<table>
<tr>
<td>content1</td>
<td><input class="txtBox" type="number" name="content2" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>content3</td>
<td><input class="txtBox" type="number" name="content3" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>content4</td>
<td>
<input class="txtBox" type="number" name="content4" />
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<table>
<tr>
<td>content</td>
<td><input class="vast_lasten" type="number" name="content" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>content1</td>
<td><input class="vast_lasten" type="number" name="content1" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>content2</td>
<td><input class="vast_lasten" type="texnumber" name="content2" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<div class="col">
<h3>Het resultaat is:</h3>
<p id="result"></p>
</div>
This will work:
var result = vastLasten - vastInkomen;
$('#result').text("Some text and work good!" + result);
You can use .text() to set the content of an element, but everything should be within the parenthesis.
I added an extra variable result because you cannot use + and - both here; it will result in NaN as it will try to sum the values.
This works as well:
$('#result').text("Some text and work good!" + (vastLasten - vastInkomen));

getElementById( ) not working on Dynamically assigned id

I have gone through google and some of SO questions (such as this & this) as well but I didn't find the solution.
I am working for validation of a dynamically generated rows in a table,initially I am trying to validate the first td, loop and alert is working all fine but document.getElementById() is giving a null value. The script is at the very bottom of the page.
and here is the JS code.
edit: I have added the code, and what I am trying to do is display the error (Please fill) when field is left blank on the click of submit button and hide it when it is filled.
$(function(){
$(document).on("click",".addRowAux",function(){
/*var valanx1 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(2)").children("input").val();
var valanx2 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(3)").children("input").val();
var valanx3 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(4)").children("select").val();
var valanx4 = $(this).parents("tr").children("td:nth-child(4)").children("input").val();*/
var countrow= $("#annextable tr").length;
/*countrow++;*/
if(countrow<11)
{
$("#aux").append('<tr><td align="center">'+countrow+'</td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_name[]" id="ref_name"/><span id="refNm_error">Please fill</span></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_desg[]" id="ref_desg"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_address[]" id="ref_address"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_email[]" id="ref_email"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_mobile[]" id="ref_mobile"/></td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_pan[]" id="ref_pan"/></td><td align="center"><span class="addRowAux">Add</span> <span id="removeRowaux">Remove</span></td></tr>');
}
else
{
//countrow--;
alert("Can not add more then 10 record.");
}
});
});
$(document).on('click', '#removeRowaux', function () { // <-- changes
var countrow= $("#annextable tr").length;
if(countrow>3)

$(this).closest('tr').remove();
var tblObj = document.getElementById('annextable');

Because you are adding extra quotes in beginning and end in variable k. use:
var k = 'refNm_error' + (i+1);
You might need to reload the DOM after adding dynamic elements.
This link might help
Update, when you created your dynamic table rows for the table you didn't assign unique ids for input elements. So I updated the addRow handler:
$(document).on("click", ".addRowAux", function () {
to add unique input ids, like following:
$("#aux").append('<tr><td align="center">' + countrow + '</td><td align="center"><input type="text" name="ref_name[]" id="ref_name_' + countrow + '"/><span id="refNm_error_' + countrow + '">Please fill</span>...
and also I changed in the code:
<span id="removeRowaux">Remove</span>
to use class instead of an id:
<span class="removeRowaux">Remove</span>
Now the remove row handler listens to events from spans with class removeRowaux:
$(document).on('click', '.removeRowaux', function ()
Now the remove row functionality works and there are no spans with identical ids. So I don't think there was anything wrong with getElementById() in the code - it works fine :-)
Updated Fiddle

Fill input depending on radio button

I have these radio buttons:
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td><input id="rooom" name="room" type="radio" value="single"><strong>Single Room: 85 euros</strong></td>
<td width="30"></td>
<td><input id="rooom" name="room" type="radio" value="double"><strong>Double Room: 95 euros</strong></td>
</tr>
</table>
And I want to the value to appear in this input:
(...)
<td><label>Cost of Accomodation =</label></td>
<td width="5"></td>
<td><input id="cost" class="input_reg_cost" name="cost" type="text"></td>
(...)
This is my script but it isn't working, I don't know if it is abotu he the syntax or an error mine.
$("#rooom").change(function() {
var sel = $(this).val();
if (sel=='single') {
$("#cost").val('85')
}
if (sel=='double') {
$("#cost").val('95')
}
It's the syntax:
$(".rooom").change(function () {
var sel = $(this).val();
if (sel == 'single') {
$("#cost").val('85');
}
if (sel == 'double') {
$("#cost").val('95');
}
});
Remember to always close jQuery functions with });
rooom is also a class, not an id, so you'll want to replace that # with a .

Javascript Forms Calculator with No answers

I am very new to really writing javascript (borrowing and editing, not so new). So with a little help from google and code guru and adobe cookbook, I have come up with this simple form to be embedded into an iPad publication (this is just my test, not the final product). I have gotten it this far with no errors if the debug console and it seems to pass W3C compliance, but it also doesn't do anything! It doesn't generate the answers??? I am hoping someone can help me out or steer me in the right direction. the code for the page is below: Thanks in advance...

btn.onclick = (function(){...})();
You need to put onclick events inside self-calling code, or what are called closures. Move your entire btn.onclick function inside of this bit of code: (...)() in order to make it work.
Good attempt, a few small things wrong but pretty close!
I have made a few changes here.
As mentioned in a comment, I wrapped the function with brackets (function() {...});
I also changed innerHTML to be value as we are updating text inputs, and your savings calculation should be input.value, which I have updated for you.
Let me know how you get on!
