$('body').on('click','.removebet i',function(e){
var a = $(this).attr("id");
var data = "a="+a;
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "yorumcikar.php",
data: data,
success: function(e){
});
I'll explain the problem. I can post AJAX form with this function and there's no problem except the .removebet i comes from the ajax.
If I append .removebet i with AJAX this function doesn't work because it doesn't call AJAX.
example:
$(".maindiv").html("<span class='removebet'><i>Yes</i></span>");
Then when I clicked to 'i' tag the function at top doesn't work.
I believe this should work.
$('.removebet > i').click(function(event){
var a = $(this).attr("id");
alert(a);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "yorumcikar.php",
data: data,
success: function(retval){
alert(retval);
}
});
});
EDIT
This will work, however each newly added item will not be bound as the binding has already happened. In order to get newly added items to be bound as well you will have to rebind them when they are added.
$.ajax({call to get your new item},
success: function(data){
// add to dom
bindElement(newElement);
}
});
function bindElement(element){
$(element).click(function(event){
var a = $(this).attr("id");
alert(a);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "yorumcikar.php",
data: data,
success: function(retval){
alert(retval);
}
});
});
}

I want to do search and it can search many times. when it is submitted, it will show value in textbox by using document.getelementById("").value. All work well but I added ajax for filter search, document.getelementById("").value couldn't work.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#job_no').change(function() {
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
data: {JOB_NO: $(this).val()},
url: 'select.php',
success: function(data) {
$('#input_na').html(data);
}
});
return false;
});
});
<script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('input_na').value = "<?php echo $_POST['input_na'];?>";</script>
Try this:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#job_no').change(function() {
var $this = $(this); //add this line
$.ajax({
type: 'POST',
data: {JOB_NO: $this.val()}, //change this line
url: 'select.php',
success: function(data) {
$('#input_na').html(data);
}
});
return false;
});
});
the 'this' in $.ajax(..) function will not refer to $('#job_no'), so it should be assigned to another variable "$this" for use inside the ajax function.
alright, I have a popup which displays some notes added about a customer. The content (notes) are shown via ajax (getting data via ajax). I also have a add new button to add a new note. The note is added with ajax as well. Now, the question arises, after the note is added into the database.
How do I refresh the div which is displaying the notes?
I have read multiple questions but couldn't get an answer.
My Code to get data.
<script type="text/javascript">
var cid = $('#cid').val();
$(document).ready(function() {
$.ajax({ //create an ajax request to load_page.php
type: "GET",
url: "ajax.php?requestid=1&cid="+cid,
dataType: "html", //expect html to be returned
success: function(response){
$("#notes").html(response);
//alert(response);
}
});
});
</script>
DIV
<div id="notes">
</div>
My code to submit the form (adding new note).
<script type="text/javascript">
$("#submit").click(function() {
var note = $("#note").val();
var cid = $("#cid").val();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "ajax.php?requestid=2",
data: { note: note, cid: cid }
}).done(function( msg ) {
alert(msg);
$("#make_new_note").hide();
$("#add").show();
$("#cancel").hide();
//$("#notes").load();
});
});
</script>
I tried load, but it doesn't work.
Please guide me in the correct direction.
Create a function to call the ajax and get the data from ajax.php then just call the function whenever you need to update the div:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
// create a function to call the ajax and get the response
function getResponse() {
var cid = $('#cid').val();
$.ajax({ //create an ajax request to load_page.php
type: "GET",
url: "ajax.php?requestid=1&cid=" + cid,
dataType: "html", //expect html to be returned
success: function(response) {
$("#notes").html(response);
//alert(response);
}
});
}
getResponse(); // call the function on load
$("#submit").click(function() {
var note = $("#note").val();
var cid = $("#cid").val();
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "ajax.php?requestid=2",
data: {
note: note,
cid: cid
}
}).done(function(msg) {
alert(msg);
$("#make_new_note").hide();
$("#add").show();
$("#cancel").hide();}
getResponse(); // call the function to reload the div
});
});
});
</script>
You need to provide a URL to jQuery load() function to tell where you get the content.
So to load the note you could try this:
$("#notes").load("ajax.php?requestid=1&cid="+cid);
When attempting to access the '.box' class of the $container, using (this) inside of the ajax call doesn't work.
$container.on(
"click",
".box",
function(event){
var description;
if($(this)[0].style.width == '70%'){
$(this).find(".resultData").fadeOut('slow');
$(this).css('width', '18%');
}else{
$.ajax({
url:'scripts/php/fetchResultsData.php',
data: {action:value},
type: 'post',
dataType: 'json',
success: function(data){
description = data[0];
$(this).css('width', '70%');
$(this).append("\
<div class='resultData'>\
<div class='resultName'>" + $(this).find("p").html() + "</div>\
<div class='resultDesc'>" + description +"</div>\
</div>");
/*alert($(this).find("p").html());*/
}
})
}
$container.masonry('reload');
}
);
In case it's not clear what I'm trying to do, I'm attempting to change the css of dynamic elements. But for example,
$(this).css('width','70%');
Isn't adjusting the css at all. If I move it outside the ajax,success section, it works, but then I'm unable to get 'description'.
You're close. 'this' in the context you are using it, refers to the ajax request rather than the thing that issued the event. To fix this, store a copy of this before making the ajax request:
}else{
var me = this;
$.ajax({
...
success: function(data){
description = data[0];
$(me).css('width', '70%');
Just add this to your $.ajax call...
context: this,
...and it'll work.
$.ajax({
context: this, // <-- right here
url:'scripts/php/fetchResultsData.php',
data: {action:value},
type: 'post',
dataType: 'json',
success: function(data) { // ...
Hi i have jquery request like below ,
$('#filterForm').submit(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var dataString = $('#filterForm').serialize();
var class2011 = document.getElementById("2011").className;
//var validate = validateFilter();
alert(dataString);
if(class2011=='yearOn')
{
dataString+='&year=2011';
document.getElementById("2011").className='yearOff';
}
else
{
document.getElementById("2011").className='yearOn';
}
alert (dataString);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "myServlet",
data: dataString,
success: function(data) {
/*var a = data;
alert(data);*/
}
});
and my Form is like ,
<form method="post" name="filterForm" id="filterForm">
<!-- some input elements -->
</form>
Well, I am triggering jquery submit on submit event of a form ,(it's working fine)
I want pass one extra parameter inside form which is not in above form content but it's outside in page
it's like below
[Check this image link for code preview][1]
So how can i trigger above event , on click of , element with class yearOn ( check above html snippet ) and class yearOff , with additional parameter of year set to either 2011 or 2010
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#filterForm').submit(function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
var dataString = $('#filterForm').serialize();
if ($("#2011").hasClass('yearOn')) {
dataString += '&year=2011';
$("#2011").removeClass('yearOn').addClass('yearOff');
}
else {
$("#2011").removeClass('yearOff').addClass('yearOn');
}
$.ajax({
url: "/myServlet",
type: "POST",
data: dataString,
success: function (data) {
/*var a = data;
alert(data);*/
}
});
});
});
1.) If you are using jQuery already, you can use the $.post() function provided by jquery. It will make your life easier in most cases.
2.) I have always had a successful post with extra parameters this way:
Build you extra parameters here
commands={
year:'2011'
};
Combine it with your form serialize
var dataString=$.param(commands)+'&'+$("#filterForm").serialize();
Perform your post here
$.post("myServlet",data,
function(data) {
/*var a = data;
alert(data);*/
}
);
OR use $.ajax if you really love it
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "myServlet",
data: dataString,
success: function(data) {
/*var a = data;
alert(data);*/
}
In the end, here is the full code the way you are doing it now
$('#filterForm').submit(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var class2011 = document.getElementById("2011").className;
//var validate = validateFilter();
alert(dataString);
if(class2011=='yearOn') {
dataString+='&year=2011';
document.getElementById("2011").className='yearOff';
} else {
document.getElementById("2011").className='yearOn';
}
commands={
year:'2011'
};
var dataString=$.param(commands)+'&'+$("#filterForm").serialize();
alert (dataString);
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "myServlet",
data: dataString,
success: function(data) {
/*var a = data;
alert(data);*/
}
});
Following are two pieces of jquery code. First one prints a text message when clicked on a link, and the second slides down a div when click on a link. I want to merge second code into first one, so that when I click the link, it displays the message (as the first code does), and also slides down the #votebox (as done in second code, and show content in that.
I will be very thankful for any help.
$("a.vote_up").click(function(){
the_id = $(this).attr('id');
$("span#votes_count"+the_id).fadeOut("fast");
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
data: "action=vote_up&id="+$(this).attr("id"),
url: "votes.php",
success: function(msg)
{
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeOut();
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).html(msg);
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeIn();
//Here, I want to slide down the votebox and content div (from code below).
}
});
});
The following code slides down votebox div and displays content in it, I want to include that in the above code.
$("a.vote_up").click(function(){
var id=$(this).attr("id");
var name=$(this).attr("name");
var dataString = 'id='+ id + '&name='+ name;
//I want to include this votebox in above code.
$("#votebox").slideDown("slow");
$("#flash").fadeIn("slow");
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "rating.php",
data: dataString,
cache: false,
success: function(html){
$("#flash").fadeOut("slow");
//and want to use this div as well.
$("#content").html(html);
}
});
});
Thanks for any help.
Simple way is to define a seperate function for voteDown and call it from the success function:
e.g
$("a.vote_up").click(function(){
the_id = $(this).attr('id');
$("span#votes_count"+the_id).fadeOut("fast");
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
data: "action=vote_up&id="+$(this).attr("id"),
url: "votes.php",
success: function(msg)
{
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeOut();
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).html(msg);
$("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeIn();
var that = this;
voteDown.call(that);
}
});
});
function voteDown()
{
var id=$(this).attr("id");
var name=$(this).attr("name");
var dataString = 'id='+ id + '&name='+ name;
$("#votebox").slideDown("slow");
$("#flash").fadeIn("slow");
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "rating.php",
data: dataString,
cache: false,
success: function(html){
$("#flash").fadeOut("slow");
//and want to use this div as well.
$("#content").html(html);
}
});
}
Edit: Corrected the JS for Votedown function.
