We need what are you asking for to provide some help.
I guess you need to register the Change event in the Select HTML element. Depending on the selected value, do your "something v1" or your "something v2".
$("#YOUR_SELECT_ID").on("change",function(){
var YOUR_SELECTED_ELEMENT = $(this).val();
if (CHECK_THE_VALUE_OF_YOUR_SELECTED_ELEMENT) {
// do some stuff corresponding your "something v1"
}
else {
// do some styff corresponding your "something v2"
}
});
Has been useful?

You can hide or show any element by css style accesing by its id.
Example.
document.getElementById("element").style.display="value";
change value to none to hide and block to view the element.

Expand / Show and hide div element in a listview

As you can see, is this a list view and my mission is when you click on an element / div then the div with the images expand / show. Now that is easy, even for a backend developer, but I would like to:
1. when I click again on the same element, then the element will hide.
2. When I click on another element, then the element that is already expand will hide and the other element that I click on, will expand / show.
I need Script and CSS for this please.
<div class="row">
#foreach(var post in CurrentPage.Children)

<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="content equal" onclick="showhide()">

<h2>#post.Name</h2>
<p>#Umbraco.Truncate(post.Introduction, 240, true)</p>
</a>
</div>
<div class="images(-expand)">
<img src="#post.Image" />
</div>
</div>
}
</div>
Try as follows.
$('.content.equal').click(function() {
$('.content.equal').not(this).next().slideUp();
$(this).next().slideToggle();
});
$('.content.equal a').click(function(event) {
event.preventDefault();

jQuery & JEasyUI dynamic droppable element

I have an issue with jQuery & jEasyUI working together. In my code I have a button that when it is clicked it adds a new col-sm-3 to a row div. When I begin dragging around into the droppable nothing happens, although I'm suppose to see an alert. I played around and got it to work by calling .droppable() on newly added columns. That's where things began to get strange. The draggables started disappearing from their positions in the list. It was obvious that jQuery and JEasyUI are not playing well. JEasyUI has it's own draggable & droppable functions but there isn't anything written on how they could be applied to dynamically loaded DOM elements.
Code dynamically added:
This is HTML that I dynamically add to a row

Manipulating first child inside DIV as an UL element in jQuery

Currently I have the below HTML elements.
<div class="ow_box_empty ow_stdmargin clearfix">
<div id="avatar-console" class="ow_avatar_console ow_center">
<div style="height: 190px; background: url(7.jpg) no-repeat;>
<div style="display: none;" id="avatar-change">
Change Avatar
</div>
</div>
<div class="user_online_wrap">
<div class="ow_miniic_live"><span class="ow_live_on"></span></div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I want to wrap the first DIV(inside DIV with id "avatar-console") with an LI tag and insert new LI tag at the end as shown below.
Below is the required ouput.
<div class="ow_box_empty ow_stdmargin clearfix">
<div id="avatar-console" class="ow_avatar_console ow_center">
<ul>
<li>
<div style="height: 190px; background: url(7.jpg) no-repeat">
<div style="display: none;" id="avatar-change">
Change Avatar
</div>
</div>
</li>
<li class="star">★</li>
</ul>
<div class="user_online_wrap">
<div class="ow_miniic_live"><span class="ow_live_on"></span></div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I tried the below code to start with but it gives unwanted results. I am not sure where and how to start on this.
$("#avatar-console div:first-child").append('<li class="star">★</li>')
Fiddle Link: http://jsfiddle.net/Purus/U3KC8/
This should work:
http://jsfiddle.net/da4dz/
$("#avatar-console > div:first")
.wrap('<ul><li></li></ul>')
.closest('ul').append('<li class="star">star</li>');
You can use the jQuery wrap() method:
$("div:first-child", "#avatar-console").wrap("<ul><li></li></ul>");

Twitter bootstrap : Expand with span12 on button click

I am using bootstrap for my project.
It is the structure i am following to design layout-
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="expand-this">
<div class="span8">
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span6 pull-left">
<b>Display Name</b>
</div>
<div class="span6 pull-right">
<input type="text"/>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="hide-accordion">
<div class="span4">
<div class="block">
...some information..
</div>
</div>
</div>
<button class="button-hiding"></button>
Here you can see i am aligning two block in a row. Second span in row-fluid with span4 Is taking dynamic values.
So i am trying to hide it with button.
jQuery-
$('.hide-accordion').hide();
$(function () {
$('.button-hiding').click(function () {
$('.hide-accordion').toggle(this);
});
});
This is what working fine.
I am hiding this accordion on window load.
What i want-
I want span8 to take full width with span12 when accordion is hidden and as soon as i click on button, accordion appears. then it should be taking original span8 width.
I tried this too with jQuery-
$('.hide-accordion').hide();
$(function () {
$('.button-hiding').click(function () {
$('.hide-accordion').toggle(this);
$('.Expand-this>div .span8').removeClass('span8');
$(this).addClass('span12');
});
});
But no luck, help?
Try with this,
HTML:-
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span8 expand-this">
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span6 pull-left">
<b>Display Name</b>
</div>
<div class="span6 pull-right">
<input type="text"/>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="span4 hide-accordion">
<div class="block">
...some information..
</div>
</div>
<div>
<button class="button-hiding"></button>
And Jquery:-
$(function () {
$('.hide-accordion').hide();
$(".expand-this").removeClass("span8").addClass("span12")
$('.button-hiding').click(function () {
if($(".expand-this").hasClass('span8')){
$(".expand-this").removeClass("span8").addClass("span12")
}else{
$(".expand-this").removeClass("span12").addClass("span8")
}
$('.hide-accordion').toggle();
});
});

Loading a tab on button click

I am not that much familiar with button html or jquery so please forgive if this is a repeated question or if I asked it wrong. What i want to do is is to load a tab on an external button click. The code for the tabs are as follows,
<div id="wrapper">
<div id="content">
<div class="c1">
<div class="controls">
</div>
<div class="tabs">
<div id="tab-1" class="tab">
<article>
<div class="text-section">
<h1>Dashboard</h1>
<p>TVAS data visualizer</p>
</div>
<div style="margin-top: 10px;margin-left: 10px;width: 21%;height: 20px; float: left">
<input type="button" id="btn" name="btn" value="Button" />
<div style="margin-left: 15px; float: left">
Filter :
</div>
<div id='jqxdropdown' style="margin-left: 5px; float: left">
</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-top: 10px;width: 78%;height: 20px; float: right">
<div id='jqxcalendar' style="margin-left: 10px;float: left;"></div>
<div style="margin-left: 10px;float: left;">
<input id="filterButton" type="button" value="Filter"/>
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 10px; float: left">
<font size="1" color="red">
*Filter by ISP only applies to the bar/pie chart
</font>
</div>
</div>
<div id="barChartdiv" style="margin-top: 10px;width:60%; height: 400px;float: left;"></div>
<div id="pieChartDiv" style="margin-top: 10px;width:40%; height: 400px;float: right;"></div>
<div id="linechartdiv" style="width: 100%; height: 500px;float: left;"></div>
</article>
</div>
<div id="tab-2" class="tab">
<article>
<div class="text-section">
<h1>Map view</h1>
<p>TVAS birds eye view</p>
</div>
<div id="google_map_canvas" style="margin-top: 10px;width:1450px; height: 650px;float: left;">
</div>
<div id="over_map">
<input id="outgoingButton" type="button" value="Outgoing"/>
<input id="incomingButton" type="button" value="Incomng"/>
</div>
</article>
</div>
<div id="tab-3" class="tab">
<article>
<div class="text-section">
<h1>Dashboard</h1>
<p>TVAS trend visualizer</p>
</div>
</article>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<aside id="sidebar">
<strong class="logo">lg</strong>
<ul class="tabset buttons">
<li class="active">
<span>Dashboard</span><em></em>
<span class="tooltip"><span>Dashboard</span></span>
</li>
<li>
<span>Map visualization</span><em></em>
<span class="tooltip"><span>Map visualization</span></span>
</li>
<li>
<span>Trending</span><em></em>
<span class="tooltip"><span>Trending</span></span>
</li>
</ul>
<span class="shadow"></span>
</aside>
</div>
what this code currently does is when the user clicks on the necessary sidebar element it loads its corresponding div to the left of the page. what I need to do the same by clicking on a button jquery or javascript which is situated in the header area of the page.
for example something like this,
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$("input[name='btn']").click(function() {
//code to display the contents of a tab
});
});
</script>
any help would be much helpful :) I don't know how to make this question even more clearer. hope its understandable Thank you :)
I think this will work, I'm sure there is a more concise way though.
$("#tab-1").click(function() {
$(".tab").hide();
$("#tab-1").show();
});
$("#tab-2").click(function() {
$(".tab").hide();
$("#tab-2").show();
});
$("#tab-3").click(function() {
$(".tab").hide();
$("#tab-3").show();
});
Update: This actually works (be sure to change the class and id selectors to your naming convention), as tested here.
$().ready(function() {
$(".show-tab").click(function() {
$(".tab").hide();
var tabid = $(this).attr("id").substring(5);
$("#"+tabid).show();
});
$("#show-tab-1").click();
});
