Another angularJS question i have scope binding a click that should add one value on the first click ad another value on the second click but it just keeps returning and empty array and filling the first value again why? :
scope.dbclickalert = function (scope, $watch) {
var getCheckInDate = this.cellData.date;
var formatcheckindate = new Date(getCheckInDate);
var checkingdates = [];
var curr_datecell = formatcheckindate.getDate();
var padded_day = (curr_datecell < 10) ? '0' + curr_datecell : curr_datecell;
var curr_monthcell = formatcheckindate.getMonth() + 1;
var padded_month = (curr_monthcell < 10) ? '0' + curr_monthcell : curr_monthcell;
var curr_yearcell = formatcheckindate.getFullYear();
var date_stringcell = + padded_month + "/" + padded_day + "/" + curr_yearcell;
var checkindatestrg = "checkindate";
console.log(checkingdates.length);
if (checkingdates.length < 2) {
alert("element exists in array");
checkingdates.push('checkoutdate');
checkingdates.push(date_stringcell);
console.log(checkingdates + checkingdates.length);
} else {
checkingdates.push('checkindate');
checkingdates.push(date_stringcell);
}
var setCheckInDate = el.hasClass('checkInDate');
if (checkingdates === true) {
alert('You have allready set your check In Date');
} else {
el.addClass('checkInDate');
$('#checkoutbar').addClass('datePickerchecout');
}
$(".date-cell").each(function removeclasses() {
$(this).removeClass('true');
});
return getCheckInDate;
};
ok so when i declare this outside of the function i get undefined error:
scope.checkingdates = [];
scope.dbclickalert = function(scope, $watch){
var getCheckInDate = this.cellData.date;
var formatcheckindate = new Date(getCheckInDate);
var checkingdates = scope.checkingdates;
var curr_datecell = formatcheckindate.getDate();
var padded_day = (curr_datecell < 10) ? '0'+curr_datecell : curr_datecell;
var curr_monthcell = formatcheckindate.getMonth() + 1;
var padded_month = (curr_monthcell < 10) ? '0'+curr_monthcell : curr_monthcell;
var curr_yearcell = formatcheckindate.getFullYear();
var date_stringcell = + padded_month + "/" + padded_day + "/" + curr_yearcell;
var checkindatestrg = "checkindate";
console.log(checkingdates.length);
if (checkingdates.length < 2){
alert("element exists in array");
checkingdates.push('checkoutdate');
checkingdates.push(date_stringcell);
console.log(checkingdates+checkingdates.length);
}else{
checkingdates.push('checkindate');
checkingdates.push(date_stringcell);
}
var setCheckInDate = el.hasClass('checkInDate');
if (checkingdates === true){
alert('You have allready set your check In Date');
} else{
el.addClass('checkInDate');
$('#checkoutbar').addClass('datePickerchecout');
}
$(".date-cell").each(function removeclasses() {
$(this).removeClass('true');
});
return getCheckInDate;
};
ok in the third version of this it the same data "the date" again if the same div has been clicked but not if a second div with the same ng-click="dbclickalert()" is clicked why?
link: function(scope, el, attributes, dateSheetCtrl, $watch) {
scope.checkingdatesarry = [];
scope.dbclickalert = function(){
var getCheckInDate = this.cellData.date;
var formatcheckindate = new Date(getCheckInDate);
var checkingdates = scope.checkingdates;
var curr_datecell = formatcheckindate.getDate();
var padded_day = (curr_datecell < 10) ? '0'+curr_datecell : curr_datecell;
var curr_monthcell = formatcheckindate.getMonth() + 1;
var padded_month = (curr_monthcell < 10) ? '0'+curr_monthcell : curr_monthcell;
var curr_yearcell = formatcheckindate.getFullYear();
var date_stringcell = + padded_month + "/" + padded_day + "/" + curr_yearcell;
var checkindatestrg = "checkindate";
var checkoutdatestrg = "checkoutdate";
if( $.inArray('checkindate', scope.checkingdates) !== -1 ) {
scope.checkingdatesarry.push(checkoutdatestrg);
scope.checkingdatesarry.push(date_stringcell);
console.log(scope.checkingdatesarry + scope.checkingdatesarry.length);
}
else{
scope.checkingdatesarry.push(checkindatestrg);
scope.checkingdatesarry.push(date_stringcell);
console.log(scope.checkingdatesarry + scope.checkingdatesarry.length);
}
var setCheckInDate = el.hasClass('checkInDate');
if (scope.checkingdates === true){
alert('You have allready set your check In Date');
} else{
el.addClass('checkInDate');
$('#checkoutbar').addClass('datePickerchecout');
}
$(".date-cell").each(function removeclasses() {
$(this).removeClass('true');
});
return scope.checkingdatesarry;
};
ok for anyone that cares the answer was that because my div's where being created with a angularJS directive it was returning and array per div instead of one global array I have taken the array all the way out of the directive and moved it into a service and it works fine.
Because you redefined the array with empty list in the dbclickalert action. So every time when the action is triggered, the array will be empty.
var checkingdates = [];
You should move it outside the function and declare as
$scope.checkingdates = []; //In your code, you may use scope.checkingdates = []; if you renamed the $scope when you inject it

I want to create a array containing objects, and I'm using Parse to query all the data.
However, the for loop which loops over the results doesn't does that in the correct order but randomly loops over the data. If I log i each iteration, the logs show different results every time.
Here is my code:
for (var i = 0; i < results.length; i++)
{
Parse.Cloud.useMasterKey();
// retrieve params
var objectid = results[i];
var self = request.params.userid;
// start query
var Payment = Parse.Object.extend("Payments");
var query = new Parse.Query(Payment);
query.get(objectid, {
success: function (payment) {
// get all the correct variables
var from_user_id = payment.get("from_user_id");
var to_user_id = payment.get("to_user_id");
var amount = payment.get("amount");
var createdAt = payment.updatedAt;
var note = payment.get("note");
var img = payment.get("photo");
var location = payment.get("location");
var status = payment.get("status");
var fromquery = new Parse.Query(Parse.User);
fromquery.get(from_user_id, {
success: function(userObject) {
var fromusername = userObject.get("name");
var currency = userObject.get("currency");
var toquery = new Parse.Query(Parse.User);
toquery.get(to_user_id, {
success: function(touser)
{
var tousername = touser.get("name");
if(tousername !== null || tousername !== "")
{
sendArray(tousername);
}
},
error: function(touser, error)
{
var tousername = to_user_id;
if(tousername !== null || tousername !== "")
{
sendArray(tousername);
}
}
});
function sendArray(tousername) {
var array = new Array();
// create the time and date
var day = createdAt.getDate();
var year = createdAt.getFullYear();
var month = createdAt.getMonth();
var hour = createdAt.getHours();
var minutes = createdAt.getMinutes();
// create the timestamp
var time = "" + hour + ":" + minutes;
var date = "" + day + " " + month + " " + year;
var associativeArray = {};
if(self == from_user_id)
{
fromusername = "self";
}
if(self == to_user_id)
{
tousername = "self";
}
associativeArray["from"] = fromusername;
associativeArray["to"] = tousername;
associativeArray["amount"] = amount;
associativeArray["currency"] = currency;
associativeArray["date"] = date;
associativeArray["time"] = time;
associativeArray["status"] = status;
if(note == "" || note == null)
{
associativeArray["note"] = null;
}
else
{
associativeArray["note"] = note;
}
if(img == "" || img == null)
{
associativeArray["img"] = null;
}
else
{
associativeArray["img"] = img;
}
if(location == "" || location == null)
{
associativeArray["location"] = null;
}
else
{
associativeArray["location"] = location;
}
array[i] = associativeArray;
if((i + 1) == results.length)
{
response.success(array);
}
},
error: function(userObject, error)
{
response.error(106);
}
});
},
error: function(payment, error) {
response.error(125);
}
});
}
But the i var is always set to seven, so the associative arrays are appended at array[7] instead of the correct i (like 1,2,3,4,5)
The reason that this is so important is because I want to order the payment chronologically (which I have done in the query providing the results).
What can I do to solve this issue?
Success is a callback that happens at a later point in time. So what happens is, the for loop runs 7 times and calls parse 7 times. Then after it has run each of parse success calls will be executed, they look at i which is now at 7.
A simple way to fix this is to wrap the whole thing in an immediate function and create a new closure for i. Something like this
for(var i = 0; i < results.length; i++){
function(iClosure) {
//rest of code goes here, replace i's with iClosure
}(i);
}
Now what will happen is that each success function will have access to it's own iClosure variable and they will be set to the value of i at the point they were created in the loop.
for (var i = 0; i < stops.length; i++) {
var code = stops[i].atcocode;
var name = stops[i].common;
var direction = stops[i].direction;
var alertMessage = "View departures for " + stops[i].common + (directionText !== 'Unknown' ? (" (facing " + directionText + ")") : "") + "?";
this.map.addMarker({
icon: icon,
position: new plugin.google.maps.LatLng(stops[i].latitude, stops[i].longitude)
}, function(markerCallback) {
markerCallback.code = code;
markerCallback.name = name;
markerCallback.direction = direction;
markerCallback.alert = alertMessage;
markerCallback.addEventListener(plugin.google.maps.event.MARKER_CLICK, function(clickedMarker) {
alert(markerCallback.name);
});
_this.busStopMarkers.push(markerCallback);
});
}
JavaScript closure inside loops – simple practical example
I have viewed the question above and am not sure how to apply the same answer logic into my scenario. Could somebody please show me an example as to how I can make the alert show the indexed item in the array rather than the last one?
Create a callback factory:
function createCallback(_this, code, name, direction, alertMessage) {
return function(markerCallback) {
markerCallback.code = code;
markerCallback.name = name;
markerCallback.direction = direction;
markerCallback.alert = alertMessage;
markerCallback.addEventListener(plugin.google.maps.event.MARKER_CLICK, function(clickedMarker) {
alert(markerCallback.name);
});
_this.busStopMarkers.push(markerCallback);
};
}
Then use it to create a function inside your loop:
for (var i = 0; i < stops.length; i++) {
var code = stops[i].atcocode;
var name = stops[i].common;
var direction = stops[i].direction;
var alertMessage = "View departures for " + stops[i].common + (directionText !== 'Unknown' ? (" (facing " + directionText + ")") : "") + "?";
var callback = createCallback(_this, code, name, direction, alertMessage);
this.map.addMarker({
icon: icon,
position: new plugin.google.maps.LatLng(stops[i].latitude, stops[i].longitude)
}, callback);
}
You can create an anonymous function like this:
for (var i = 0; i < stops.length; i++) {
(function(me, stop){ // Use the stop as an argument, this function is directly called
var code = stop.atcocode;
var name = stop.common;
var direction = stop.direction;
var alertMessage = "View departures for " + stop.common + (directionText !== 'Unknown' ? (" (facing " + directionText + ")") : "") + "?";
me.map.addMarker({
icon: icon,
position: new plugin.google.maps.LatLng(stop.latitude, stop.longitude)
}, function(markerCallback) {
markerCallback.code = code;
markerCallback.name = name;
markerCallback.direction = direction;
markerCallback.alert = alertMessage;
markerCallback.addEventListener(plugin.google.maps.event.MARKER_CLICK, function(clickedMarker) {
alert(markerCallback.name);
});
_this.busStopMarkers.push(markerCallback);
});
})(this, stops[i]); // Pass the stop
}
I have found similar threads about this but I cant seem to make their solutions work for my specific issue. I currently have a calendar that will highlight the starting date of an Event. I need to change this to highlight the Start Date through the End Date.
Note: I did not write this code. It seems like whoever wrote this left a lot of junk in here. Please don't judge.
attachTocalendar : function(json, m, y) {
var arr = new Array();
if (json == undefined || !json.month || !json.year) {
return;
}
m = json.month;
y = json.year;
if (json.events == null) {
return;
}
if (json.total == 0) {
return;
}
var edvs = {};
var kds = new Array();
var offset = en4.ynevent.getDateOffset(m, y);
var tds = $$('.ynevent-cal-day');
var selected = new Array(), numberOfEvent = new Array();
for (var i = 0; i < json.total; ++i) {
var evt = json.events[i];
var s1 = evt.starttime.toTimestamp();
var s0 = s1;
var s2 = evt.endtime.toTimestamp();
var ds = new Date(s1);
var de = new Date(s2);
var id = ds.getDateCellId();
index = selected.indexOf(id);
if (index < 0)
{
numberOfEvent[selected.length] = 1;
selected.push(id);
}
else
{
numberOfEvent[index] = numberOfEvent[index] + 1;
}
}
for (var i = 0; i < selected.length; i++) {
var td = $(selected[i]);
if (td != null) {
if (!(td.hasClass("otherMonth"))){
td.set('title', numberOfEvent[i] + ' ' + en4.core.language.translate(numberOfEvent[i] > 1 ? 'events' : 'event'));
td.addClass('selected');
}
}
}
},
Instead of trying to select them all, I recommend you iterate over them instead. So something like this:
function highlightDates(startDate, endDate) {
var curDate = startDate;
var element;
$('.selected').removeClass('selected'); // reset selection
while (curDate <= endDate) {
element = getElementForDate(curDate)
element.addClass('selected');
curDate.setDate(curDate.getDate() + 1); // add one day
}
}
function getElementForDate(someDate) {
return $('#day-' + someDate.getYear() + "-" + someDate.getMonth() + "-" + someDate.getDay());
}
I posted a similar question at the Drupal Forum, but I haven't had much luck.
I'm upgrading a site from D6 to D7. So far it's gone well, but I'm getting a Javascript error that I just can't pin down a solution for.
This is a cut down version of the whole script:
(function($) {
function sign(secret, message) {
var messageBytes = str2binb(message);
var secretBytes = str2binb(secret);
if (secretBytes.length > 16) {
secretBytes = core_sha256(secretBytes, secret.length * chrsz);
}
var ipad = Array(16), opad = Array(16);
for (var i = 0; i < 16; i++) {
ipad[i] = secretBytes[i] ^ 0x36363636;
opad[i] = secretBytes[i] ^ 0x5C5C5C5C;
}
var imsg = ipad.concat(messageBytes);
var ihash = core_sha256(imsg, 512 + message.length * chrsz);
var omsg = opad.concat(ihash);
var ohash = core_sha256(omsg, 512 + 256);
var b64hash = binb2b64(ohash);
var urlhash = encodeURIComponent(b64hash);
return urlhash;
}
function addZero(n) {
return ( n < 0 || n > 9 ? "" : "0" ) + n;
}
Date.prototype.toISODate =
new Function("with (this)\nreturn " +
"getFullYear()+'-'+addZero(getMonth()+1)+'-'" +
"+addZero(getDate())+'T'+addZero(getHours())+':'" +
"+addZero(getMinutes())+':'+addZero(getSeconds())+'.000Z'");
function getNowTimeStamp() {
var time = new Date();
var gmtTime = new Date(time.getTime() + (time.getTimezoneOffset() * 60000));
return gmtTime.toISODate() ;
}
}(jQuery));
The part that keeps throwing an error I'm seeing in Firebug is at:
Date.prototype.toISODate =
new Function("with (this)\n return " +
"getFullYear()+'-'+addZero(getMonth()+1)+'-'" +
"+addZero(getDate())+'T'+addZero(getHours())+':'" +
"+addZero(getMinutes())+':'+addZero(getSeconds())+'.000Z'");
Firebug keeps stopping at "addZero is not defined". JS has never been my strong point, and I know some changes have been made in D7. I've already wrapped the entire script in "(function($) { }(jQuery));", but I must be missing something else. The same script works perfectly on the D6 site.
Here is the "fixed" version of the whole code with #Pointy suggestion added. All I left out is the part of the script for making the hash that goes to Amazon, and some of my declared variables.

Here's a better version of your code:
Date.prototype.toISODate = function() {
function addZero(n) {
return ( n < 0 || n > 9 ? "" : "0" ) + n;
}
var d = this;
return d.getFullYear() + '-' +
addZero(d.getMonth() + 1) + '-' +
addZero(d.getDate()) + 'T' +
addZero(d.getHours()) + ':' +
addZero(d.getMinutes()) + ':' +
addZero(d.getSeconds()) + '.000Z';
};
That moves "addDate" inside the extension function, and it avoids the horrid with statement.
I am trying to make a debugger that will be dynamiaclly created with some variables. The names on the left div need to show a div for the corresponding variables Description,Variable ID, and initial Value as well as another div that will show history and lock status when variables are updated later. Where I am having trouble is properly adding the show/hide to the dom I think. Everything starts hidden and then when I click a name the Variables for that name show up but the next click doesn't hide the values from the former. Also any cleanup/optimization advice?
<script type="text/javascript">
var variableIDArray = {};
function loadVariables(variables) {
if (typeof variables != "object") { alert(variables); return; }
var namearea = document.getElementById('namearea');
var description = document.getElementById('description');
var varid = document.getElementById('varid');
var initialvalue = document.getElementById('initialvalue');
var valuelock = document.getElementById('valuelock');
for (var i = 0; i < variables.length - 1; i++) {
