4 navlinks needs to close all content and open its own - javascript

I have an almost working script but I don't understand scripting too good to make it work on all links.
When you have a look at my fiddle, and you click on the first two links, all work fine.
When you click on the other two ones the other content fields don't close. I need to close all, open just one..
http://jsfiddle.net/fourroses666/8y7Sr/100/
This is a part of the script:
$('#activator-werkwijze').click(function(){
$('#overlay-werkwijze').fadeIn('fast',function(){
$('#box-werkwijze').animate({'bottom':'0px'},800);
});
$('#box-bureau').animate({'bottom':'-600px'},800,function()
{
$('#overlay-bureau').fadeOut('fast');
});
});
i actually don't need the overlay

This is the script which works, (the overlay is useless) jsfiddle.net/8y7Sr/126/

getSript adds handler several times at the same object

I have 2 divs, they have multiples elements and each element has options(events). In the first div, each element has a button that load, in the second div, the children elements. Those children have a edit button that opens a dialog where the user can edit.
Here is the script:
$("#Content").load("elements.php?id=5", function(){
$.ajaxSetup({cache: true});
$.getScript("../js/elements.js", function(){
$.ajaxSetup({cache: false});
});
})
The problem is: When I load #Content with its script, it`s works good only in the first time, it opens one dialog box, but if I load twice, it opens two dialog boxes, and three, etc.
How do I delete the last script I loaded?
Are there any bindings? any live, etc? I am not sure if its your current code that is causing this issue or the elements.js being that I dont know what is inside of it. I do recommend checking out Jquery stopImmediatePropagation(). I hope this can put you on the right path.

Loading an external .htm file into a div with javascript

So I got this code
Javascript:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function(){
$('.ajax') .click(function(e){
e.preventDefault()
$('#content').load( 'file.htm' )
})
})
</script>
html:
Link
it works perfectly in firefox, but nothing happens when I click the link in chrome and IE simply opens a new window with the file. any advice?
I am not a coder of any sort, and I know there is more than one way to make this work.
This is what worked for me for MY situation.
I had a working site but with A LOT of code / DIV content all in one page and I wanted to clean that up.
I hope this Helps someone else!
I have been searching for this solution for quite some time and I have run across many examples of how it can work in different instances.
My scenario was as follows:
I have a photography website that uses a series of DIV tags containing the various "pages" so to speak of the site.
These were all set as:
<div id="DivId" style="display:none"></div>
The following script in the head of the page:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('a').click(function () {
var divname= this.name;
$("#"+divname).show("slow").siblings().hide("slow");
});
});
</script>
and called using the anchor links like this:
HOME
Where name was the name of the DIV to be called.
Please note the DIV will be called inside the parent container DIV.
Lastly and most importantly for this particular question and scenario, the DIV were all placed on the page as shown above.
Each div content was created just as if it were within the DIV tags but minus the opening and closing DIV tags and then saved as a separate .txt file, and called by placing this is the head of the parent page:
src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.js">
and
$(document).ready(function() { // this runs as soon as the page is ready (DOM is loaded)
$("#DivName") // selecting "div" (you can also select the element by its id or class like in css )
.load("PathToFile.txt");// load in the file specified
$("#AnotherDiv").load("AnotherFile.txt");// Additional DIV can be added to populate DIVs on th eparent page.
});
Change the link to href="#" or "javascript:void(0);return false;"
<a class='ajax' href='#'>...</a>
The loading logic is all in your ajax call. But, you have also a link which points to the file, too.
So, it seems that some browsers give different priorities on how the click is handled.
Anyway, links that do something other than changing page (f.ex. executing js) shouldn't have an explicit HREF attribute other than something that "does nothing" (like above)
I believe the problem is that the script loads before the document is loaded.
try this:
$(document).ready(function (){
$('.ajax').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault()
$('#content').load( 'file.htm' )
});
});
I am not sure, but i can not see any other problem.

On hover open a DIV, DIV content should dynamically load from a separate URL

I'm sure someone has already done this and posted it online, but I'm having trouble finding such an example or tutorial.
Basically, I want to have a series of links on the page. If you hover your mouse on the link, it should open a drop down DIV box under the link and then load content into the DIV from a remote URL that is pre-defined.
Has anyone seen such an implementation or have any ideas on how to do it with jQuery?
I think you're looking for something similar to:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("a").hover(function(){ //When a given link (<a> tag) is hovered over
$("div").load(this.href).show(); //load the src of that tag into a given div container.
});
});
Here's a simple test in jsFiddle, but I didn't know what to put with the href...so all you'll see is the div appear with the post error...not very pretty, but if anyone has suggestions then I'm definitely open to all.

I would go with something like the following. Note that we target only anchors who don't have the loaded class. The reason why is because we don't want to load the contents for any anchor multiple times. Whenever the user passes over an anchor, its content will be loaded and it will get a special class indicated this. If they pass over it again, nothing happens.
$("body").on("mouseenter", "a:not(.loaded)", function(e){
$(".mydiv").load(e.target.href, function(){
$(e.target).addClass("loaded");
});
});

jQuery Accordion nav issue

So finally, I was able to create a simple accordion nav but it's making me nuts that when a user goes from second nav to third one( Future Generations to Israel Overseas) it doesn't work properly. The animation happens twice, sometimes even three times based on how fast you mouse is moved. Moreover, when a nav is open and if you exit the div and come back the animation happens again.
A) Is there a way to fix the issue with going from second to third navigation
B) how do I write a conditional statement so that if a user is with in a section lets say Future Generation and goes outsize the div and comes back it doesn't repeat the close and opening thing again.

Note: I cannot use a different jQuery beside 1.2.6 and sorry for the messy HTML code, wanted to make sure it worked on the site, when it works here.
Fixed your accordion , had to lose some of you html as it was a bit confusing .
updated fiddle:
http://jsfiddle.net/Hj9my/3/
The code :
$(function() {
$(".menu").hover(function() {
$('.dropdown').removeClass('current').addClass('notcurrent');
$(this).find('.dropdown').removeClass('notcurrent').addClass('current');
$('.notcurrent').slideUp();
$('.current').slideDown();
}, function() {
});
});

A few jQuery questions

First of all, here is the site I am working on.
I am trying to get a modal window to pop-up when elements in the Flash are clicked on. Which at this point I have about 90% working when you click on the warrior image. Below is a list of issues I am still trying to solve that I hope you can help me with...
The modal background doesn't fill up
the whole page like it should.
I cannot get the close button to work
I need to set the vidname variable in
both the Flash and Java to load in a
dynamic HTML file. Depending on which
image is clicked on. My naming
convention will probably be something
like vid-1.html, vid-2.html, etc.
If you need to look at the .js file you can view it at /cmsjs/jquery.ha.js
Below is the ActionScript I currently have...
var vidname = "modal.html";
peeps.vid1.onRelease = function() {
getURL('javascript:loadVid(\'' + vidname + '\');');
};
Well I have one for you.
Your current close code is
$('#modalBG, #modalClose').click(function(){
closeModal();
});
If you click the background after a video loads you'll see that the modal does close. The reason your close button does not work is because #modalClose does not exist in the DOM when you are binding to the click function.
You need to either rebind the modalClose element when you modify the DOM or use live. If you use live you just need to change your click code to this:
$('#modalBG, #modalClose').live("click", (function(){
closeModal();
});
