error in Chrome when displaying inline-block li elements - javascript

I'm pretty new to web-coding and in my attempt to create jQuery based menu bars complete with dropdowns I have stumbled upon some vast differences between broswers. Below you can see that while FF and Safari are the same, IE is actually behaving and Opera is ok-ish, Chrome gets it totally wrong. As far as I can tell I have all the latest versions.
I removed the code from here and pasted it in: (doesn't want to let me link properly) so: jsfiddle.net/2hCR2/
Just in case, support for older versions of IE (6-7) is not required.
Right now I'm mostly concerned with the positioning aspect. Any assistance is much appreciated!
****EDIT:** After continuing to play with the chrome developer tools I realized that when I manually set the 1st list (pants/t-shirt) to display:block it displays as expected (exactly like FF and Safari in the image) so it appears that this is more of a javascript/jQuery issue not updating the DOM correctly(?). I also noticed that when I put the code is JSFiddle and ran the script in Chrome it produced the same error, but when I ran JSFiddle in FF (exact same fiddle link) it renders correctly.

It does not happen in Chrome Canary (version 24) but it does in stable (version 22). Apparently it is a bug which has been fixed.
You can either wait a month or two so that all Chrome users get the fix, or just use .show() instead of .show(0).

Chrome Dev Tools weird behavior randomly switching from elements to source for no reason

I have noticed some weird behavior in Chrome Dev Tools in at least the current build I have and possibly a few others before...
This is my current Chrome Version: Version 78.0.3904.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)
So what happens is I open Dev Tools using F12, click elements, select an element to view using the element selector and then at some point for seemingly no reason, it switches to Sources. This happens over and over again. Basically I am trying to do something with the element and then it suddenly switches to sources within 10 seconds and usually to some random weird js file.
No idea why this is happening, and it just started recently, within the past 2 weeks. It is literally driving me crazy because I like to play around with styles on elements in the HTML to see what they will do at times.
Any suggestions or is this some bug in Chrome now?

DFP SafeFrame doesn't expand in MS Edge 41

Exactly as the title says: my code expands a SafeFrame to fill the window when clicked, using $sf.ext.expand($sf.ext.geom().exp);. The base ad-unit renders without issue, but the attempt to expand fails every time.
This works fine in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile, and was working in Edge version 40 - but not the latest version (41.16299.15.0).
The issue seems to be limited to Google's SafeFrame implementation.
The tester at http://safeframes.net/examples/creative_test.html (which, as far as I can tell, uses the IAB reference implementation) works just fine in every browser I can find...
...whereas http://publisherconsole.appspot.com/safeframe/creative-preview.html, which uses GPT, exhibits the same behaviour (works everywhere but Edge 41).
Has anyone found a workaround for this?
UPDATE: As of 2018-02-22, GPT SafeFrames expand correctly in Edge 41, as everywhere else. As there hasn't been an Edge update, Google have presumably silently fixed the issue on their end.

Elements dissappearing in safari on ipad

Ive made a simple project with html and jquery. It works great in all browsers except for safari on ipads. Since apple doesnt have a windows version of safari i cannot check if the error is explicitly for ipad but i think so.
The problem is the photoboxes wich get their width from the jquery, they dont appear at all on the ipad. Chromes developer tools device mode shows everything correctly and i have css queries that take care of smaller screens so its only the ipad thats the problem. I havent found any way to do a web debug on the ipad either. Its hard to give a code example due to i dont really know what the error is but i have a live demo you can check out. For you on ipads, its supposed to be photos before the winter background.
http://www.mj-bygg.se/ipad/default.aspx
I am also getting the same error on desktop Chrome on the first load. If I refresh, then the pictures load fine but on first visit to the link I only get the footer image (trees.)
On the first load, none of your jQuery heights/widths are being applied. No errors in the console and if I rerun the function it works as it should (without reloading the page.)
I suggest either pushing the script further down the page or using $(window).load(function() {}
instead of
$(document).ready(function() {}
That is the only thing I can assume is wrong if it fails first time but works with the page being cached.

Firefox Javascript Error / Oddity / Weirdness. Any Explanations?

If you view this page...
http://eastlondondance.org/admin/MozillaProblem/example.php
...you'll find that there are no errors but that the functionality is not working.
The last dropdown is not being populated with options like the other 2. This however works on Safari, Chrome and IE.
What gives? Why isn't it working on Firefox Linux, PC or Mac but is on all other browsers?
Is it a problem with the code or a problem with Firefox?
Any help is much appreciated.
cheers,
George
Firefox is having problems with the variable name of performance. While I'm not certain why this is, renaming this to anything else will allow it to display in firefox. In the example below I renamed it from performance to performancex.
Example: http://benjaminhopkins.co.uk/stackoverflow/firefox.html
From the comments above seems not everyone see the problem? Maybe it could be a extension / plugin causing the issue. Using the developer toolbar and hovering performance firefox reveals the following:
Performance { constructor=Performance,
timing=PerformanceTiming,
navigation=PerformanceNavigation}

Weird flickering bug in the latest version of Chrome browser

After updating Google Chrome browser to the latest 15.0.874.106 version (under Windows 7), my site is experiencing some weird flickering bug.
The text shadows are displaying completely wrong, the text itself is fuzzy and unclear, some parts of code don't work anymore (e.g. right floating, fixed menu)... etc.
For a couple of seconds the site is displayed fine, then it flickers all of the sudden (while still loading) and then the rendering gets messed up. (I think it has maybe some problems with loading of Google Maps v3)
The funny thing is that the old version of Chrome (before updating, on my other computer) is still displaying the site without any problems, and there haven't been any changes in the code in the meanwhile.
In other browsers (as i said, even in the old chrome) everything is OK. Firebug and Chrome's code inspector (CTRL+SHIFT+J) don't show any errors in the code. I have been doing some digging on the Internet and here as well, and I havent't found anything useful.
You can check it out by yourself by clicking here
Thanks in advance.
I have done same settings changes as mentioned above post and now, that weird flicker got stopped, below are the details....
Open Chrome Browser
Click on Settings menu option
Click on Advance setting link in Settings page
Un-Check "Use Hardware acceleration when available" checkbox
Restart you chrome browser
Happy Browsing....... :)
Also make sure to disable not only accelerated-compositing, but also accelerated-2d-canvas.
This is how I start google-chrome on Linux:
/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome %U --user-data-dir=/root --disable-accelerated-compositing --disable-accelerated-2d-canvas
On Windows, you might want to omit
--user-data-dir=/root
Josip Filipović apology where to do that (in Win7 by entering -disable-accelerated-compositing in properties > target field) that part disables hardware acceleration.
