Ext JS 3.3 Edit multiple rows at once - javascript

We have some records populated using EditorGridPanel inside a TabPanel.
Currently records can be modified and saved one by one.
I am looking for best approach to provide an ability to edit multiple records at the same time.
Here is my approach and challenges.
-User selects multiple records
-A button provided to unhide a FormPanel with the fields to be modified. (This can be done in same tab OR a new tab can be opened )
-The user changes the needed elements and clicks Save.
-The changed elements are updated across all selected rows.
Challenges:
-I am using Ext JS 3.3.1 library.
-Not able to figure out how the data can be passed from the new form to records on first tab
-Tried creating one blank record on same grid. Updating it will make updates to all selected records.
Would be great if more thoughts/pointers can be shared.
Sorry I haven't provided more info codewise. However hoping that I have explained the problem.
I can provide more specific info as needed. An image would have been easier to describe however unable to attach

Bluebeam Scripting - Custom Columns, Markups, & Forms

BLUEBEAM AND ADOBE ARE BOTH PDF VIEWERS THAT HAVE A LOT OF SIMILARITIES
Hello, I am trying to figure out how to link a form answer to some markups (tools).
Custom Columns that are created In Bluebeam:
When I create a new tool I can manually fill out all of these custom columns under the "Custom" section within the settings of a tool:
Then I can save that tool and all of the data will be repeated for every copy of that tool. However, the circled columns in the first picture would be changing on every page. Which means I would have to make a new tool for every page. (FYI I would be making ~20 tools for this, so I would have to update 20 tools every single page ;_;) Therefore, I want to create a dropdown/textbox on each page with those columns. When a user fills out the dropdown/textbox, the markups are automatically updated with that info, which means the custom columns are also updated.
Does anyone have an idea of how to link these?
As of now I have been able to create a code that creates a popup if a user selects a certain drop down. This shows me that you can grab the data from a user. I just don't know how to connect that data to all the markups (tools). I know each markup has a special ID, but I'm curious if you can somehow link to the tools "subject" property to do this.
Bluebeam provided me with their JavaScript API if that is any help.

UPDATE
I found another document with potential accepted scripts for Bluebeam. Please note this one will require people to have Bluebeam Revu eXtreme
https://support.bluebeam.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Bluebeam-Script-Reference-2018.pdf
This version actually has a markup section (which are the things I am more or less wanting to have the custom columns be updated for with the user input)
This document seems to be relevant only for the Bluebeam Script Editor. You can open it by looking in the folder for Bluebeam from your start window.
There are 2 issues I have with this though. I haven't figured out how to run the codes I have in the script inside of Bluebeam yet and I am curious if there is a way to not need the markupID's and/or a way to get them without having to download the markups
I've been lurking on stack for so long, I finally have something to contribute...
I work with custom columns and toolsets all the time. I think you're missing a basic understanding of what the markup list is. Or maybe I am. The markup list is the table of data at the bottom of Bluebeam, where you're trying to change column headings.
The markup list is basically a table of data, what you're trying to do will change the column headers per page, which would change it for all entries. From what I know about Bluebeam, these are static, just like any database or table in any application like Excel. If you need to have different column headings, you need to just stack them all and use what you need on each page or from tool to tool. Or create different profiles with different custom columns, but this gets messy having multiple profiles accessing a single document. Maybe java can help show and hide these per what's relevant on the page within the custom field. But... I think the java is limited to be used within PDF form fields and some basic PDF actions such as print, save, etc. I don't think the level of coding you're looking for exists within Bluebeam.
I use profiles to manage custom columns per process, not the actual tool. It's kind of unclear exactly why the custom columns can follow the tools without the actual profile though.
What I do to accomplish complex tasks is export the markup list and build something within Excel VBA to tabulate data and export reports with relevant information. I'm sure you could use basically any coding language to accomplish this after the table is exported from Bluebeam.

Adding multiple records to One2Many tree in Form View in Odoo 10

I 'm currently creating a widget in Odoo 10. It has a button and an user can click on this button and then, a dialog will appear, allow user to choose multiple records and add them to a corresponding One2Many field. For example, I can choose multiple products and add them to a new sale order, the corresponding order lines will be added to the sale order as if you use the original Many2One widget, and add these products one by one. Furthermore, The added order lines will only be saved when you press save button.
My widget currently can allow user to choose multiple records, but I don't know how to temporarily add them to the One2Many tree using Javascript. I noticed that every One2Many field has an dataset property, but I have no idea what to do with it. Can any one suggest me what should I do to achieve this feature? Thank you in advance !

JAVASCRIPT WEB UI: Handle new temporary elements before server returns

I'm looking to create a snappy web-UI where a user can add a row below the currently active row in a grid of elements just by pressing enter. The user could in theory press enter several times to create multiple new rows below. Every row contains an input field. Each row represents a record in my database.
Now I need to handle the fact that one or more elements is added instantly to the ui, but the id of every corresponding record is set server side later. Once we have the id, the user may already have entered something in the ui-row.
I'm thinking that one solution would be to add a virtual "ui-id" -field to be created on the fly at UI runtime. The UI-ID would not be persisted in the database but only used for ui-reference. Every row in the ui, new and old, would get a "ui-id". As soon as the server returns the id, it would be attached to the new row.
What would be another good way of handling temporary new rows that yet haven't recieved an id from the server?
Waiting for the server before adding the row in the UI would not be an alternative.
You can go for jQuery Grid or handsontable.
Try :
http://paramquery.com/demos
You have option to save data too with handsontable. It is an exel like UI. Which has all the features you discussed here.
Please go through thourougly :

Auto update table fields and disabled function using javaScript, Ruby on Rails and/or JQuery

Versions
Mac OS: OSX 10.10.2
Ruby: 2.2.1p85
Rails: 4.2.0
Bootstrap-SASS: 3.3.4 #For Web UI
Bootstrap-Switch-Rails: 3.0.0 #For Toggles
Context
I am building a site where someone can create a packing event to make bags for the homeless. I am using Ruby on Rails to create this webapp, Bootstrap to design the user interface, and am open to using JQuery, javaScript, HTML, and CSS to get the desired functionality. Though my working knowledge of the first two languages is minimal.
In the user's event creation and edit pages I have a list of items that a person can add to their bags. This list is in a table view as seen through the link below.
Dropbox link
Desired Functionality
I am wanting to do 2 things.
When the user enters the number of bags they plan on packing, I want to be able to update the column "Number Needed" for each item. So, for instance in the example scenario shown in the image above, the "Number Needed" for "Raise Money" would be "$6,500", for "Volunteers" would not be added, for "Water" would be "1000" and for "Food" would be "1000".
I want the user to be able to toggle whether to include an item on their event page. So, in the example picture, the user wants to show on their event page that they are raising money for their event, and requesting donations for water and food; but they do not need volunteers to pack the bags. In this scenario, I would like to disable the form fields of "Number Needed", "Currently Have" and "Number Remaining to Get" for the row "Volunteers".
Questions
For the first desired functionality specified above: Should I just have the table on a separate page maybe so that the fields are populated before the table is actually shown? Or, my preferred ability, do I need to put a button after the "Number of Bags" field that when clicked updates the table? And how would I do that?
For the second desired functionality specified above: Is there a way to have this done dynamically when the user toggles the "Include" column to "Yes" or "No"? How would I disable the desired form fields dynamically once a user toggles that row to "No"?
Let me know if you need any more information. And thank you in advance for your expertise.
First things first, I would put this in the comment, but I don't have enough reputation to do that yet.
Ok so there's a few ways to solve your problem. The first and ugly solution would be to rerender the page everytime something gets updated. You really shouldn't do it that way because that required the user to hit a button to submit the form and the controller would render the same page again with updated results.
Instead, you want to use jQuery to add event listeners to your form fields and the button mentioned in the second functionality. On those event listeners, put some handlers to update the desired field. It's hard to direct you on the jQuery if I don't know your HTML structure. As Santiago mentioned, there are many tutorials out on the internet for putting event listeners and creating the proper handlers.
Additionally, you should consider AJAX to asynchronously communicate with your controller to keep the front-end (what the users see on the browser) and the back-end (data stored in the database) in sync. Again, plenty of guides out there on the internet for this, but definitely look into the Rails functionality of "remote: true" on your form to make the set up of the AJAX process easier.

Adding a new row to a dynamic ASP.NET Table Control, at position x - Problems with Viewstate after postback

I am creating a dynamic table control with ASP.NET/C# and the table is being used to hold a form. I need to allow users to click on a button in a row and make a duplicate of that row right below the original. My page is also using AJAX and jQuery.
I have tried to use Table.Rows.AddAt(indexoforigrow+1, newrow) but I get an error that the index is out of the range of values. I figured maybe I wasn't getting the original row's index correctly so I just tossed in a 1 and still got the error.
I also noticed that when I press the button to execute the code, the table disappears. Any ideas on how to fix that?
I am thinking that if I am unable to get these issues fixed I will have to loop through the table and submit the data to a temp table, adding a new row where indicated. Then I would pull all of the data back out and display again.
EDIT
I moved on when I could not get this working and tried to setup my submit functions to loop through the data and submit it to a db and realized that I am experiencing the same issues when clicking the submit button as when I click the add row button. It appears that my issue is really with viewstates/postback.
I did some reading on this and from what I can tell the solution is to re-create the dynamic control on page load every time. But I am confused about how I can do this if I have no idea how many rows/cells I have and how is the information the user entered kept in the form? I have no way of saving the information to a DB or anything because as soon as submit is clicked it all disappears.
Have you considered using a different control? One of the grid controls might better serve your purpose.
I've handled situations (that sound) similar to what you're describing by using the footer of a GridView (among other ways). The big trick is to bind the display object (Table, GridView, etc.) to a list of objects. Then you manipulate the list of objects, rebinding the display object after the list has changed.
You will need to persist this list in some manner, or you could wind up with the list being reset to null. One way would be to save it as part of the session.
At any rate, the idea is to have a display object (GridView) bound to a list of objects. When the user clicks 'add', an item is added to the list. Save the list, then call the GridView.DataBind method.
You are on the right track with re-creating the dynamic table each time the page loads. I have dome similar things and my solution was to keep a client state in a hidden field on the page. Every time you add a row to the table on the client, increment a counter or adjust the state data in the hidden field. Then, on the server-when the page posts back, read from that hidden field to know how many rows were added on the client. You will have to use some kind of naming convention for the new rows you add(and the widgets in them) so you can re-create them on the server.
A simpler option may be to use an UpdatePanel. Rather than try to add the rows on the client, your "add row" button would cause a partial update. The server side code would add the new row to the table and the viewstate would be updated.
I ended getting my data guy to do a bit more processing on his end so that I could just bind a ListView to a sproc. Solved a few of my problems.
Thanks for the helpful comments.
Just returning to this almost a year later because I faced a similar issue in my current project. I was doing a few things wrong my first time around. First, I did indeed need to recreate the controls every load, but I also had to create them earlier in the page cycle. I was trying to create them during page load, which is after the viewstate is loaded.
The controls need to be recreated with the same ID before viewstate is loaded. I went with page init and it worked fine.
