Firstly - if you want to multiply two things together, they're going to have to be numbers.
At the moment your a and b variables are simply the HTML elements you've identified, and you can't multiply those together. (Though pay attention to Carl's comment; you may need to quote txtlabchrgsNooflab if this is meant to be a literal string and not a variable name.)
So you need to get the value of these elements, as a numeric datatype. Getting the value should be as simple as calling .value() for text inputs; however, this returns a string. This may get automatically coerced to a numeric type as required, but I would be happier (and think it's clearer) to call parseFloat on it definitively.
Once you have your two floats, you can merrily multiply them. So your code should look something like the following:
var elemA = document.getElementById(txtlabchrgsNooflab);
var elemB = document.getElementById(txtlabchrgsTotalCost);
var a = parseFloat(elemA.value());
var b = parseFloat(elemB.value());
txtlabchrgsTotalCost = a * b;
OK, so using this above code results in:
error: Unable to get value of the property 'value': object is null or undefined
What can we infer from this error message? Well, that the runtime wasn't able to compute value because the thing it was being called on was null or undefined.
If you look at the code, it's clear which variable(s) might be null or undefined - and you should be able to inspect your HTML to see why this is, and make the required corrections.

Because you need a place to store the reversed word as you build it. (Note: wordLength isn't a good name for that variable. It doesn't contain the word's length. It contains the characters of the reversed word.)

Any time before you first need it.
Why can't I just type console.log(word[i]);?
Because the goal of the exercise is to build a string containing the reversed word, not just to output it. (And because console.log writes a new line each time you call it.)

That adds the character in word[i] to the end of wordLength. For instance, if the word is "start", wordLength starts out with "", then gets "t" added to it to make it "t", then gets "r" added to it to make "tr", and so on.
(+= is a shorthand way to write wordLength = wordLength + word[i];. There are several of these compound assignment operators, most of them for math: -=, *=, etc.)
Side note: The Array.from call in your code isn't doing anything useful. It's creating an array, but then throwing that array away because nothing uses the return value. The rest of the code is using the string you receive in word.

Vars is a place to store data. If your algorithm requires keeping some data to use it later you need vars. Also well named variables is a good way to create easy-to-understand code

You can, but it will do nothing useful. Your goal is to build a string and return it. Usage of your function will be something like
const word = getSomeText()
const reversedText = reverse(word)
doSomeStuff(reversedText) // whatever, send it online, or render it on screen some fancy way, not in the console.
So you need to return actual string, not to solve a puzzle and show the answer whatever way you like

Because it contains reversed word and you function supposed to return it. there is rare complicated occasions when a function returning itself is useful, but it has nothing in common with your task

Variable is required to store the data value that can be changed later on. In your case wordLength variable is required to store the reverse string.
It's best to declare variables when you first use them to ensure that they are always initialized to some valid value.

console.log() is used just to print the output but will not use if you want to return something and as per your statement it will just print the word[i] not a whole reverse string.

It means you are concatenating the each iteration word[i] into a wordLength variable.
wordLength+=word[i] is a shorthand for wordLength = wordLength + word[i]. If the left hand side of the + operator is a string, JavaScript will coerce the right hand side to a string.

In the console it gives me error saying Cannot set Property 'display' of undefined. Am I supposed to define it somewhere first? I console logged the new variable and it returned both div elements.
collection is of type string as the + operator automatically call for both their toString() function.
Now what you are trying is to access a property of collection.style which does not exist because you are operating on a string. That's the reason for the error message you are getting.
You could do something like:

collection.push(document.getElementById('partner'));
collection.push(document.getElementById('providedBy'));
collection.forEach(function(element) {
element.style.display = 'none';

which would be something I think you are trying to archive.
just to complement the accepted answer, I think you should understand why you get this error.
For what i understand from your code, you are trying to set the css of both variables partner and providedBy to display : none.
Your first piece of code works because you do this separately, while in your second code you try to add with the (+) operator both nodes, which evaluates to the string "[object HTMLDivElement][object HTMLInputElement]".
Then you try to call .style on that string which evaluates to undefined, and then you try to call display on that undefined value, this is where you get the error.
You could leave your code just like that since there are not too many variables, but if you wanted to do something that worked on multiple variables you could
create an array
push your objects into the array
create a function that loops over the elements of the array and set their style.display = "none" to individually.
In JavaScript you have to declare all of your variables. Secondly, you can't point to two objects at once by using the + operator. JavaScript interprets this as trying to concatenate the two objects, which it can't do in this way. It will return the string [object Object][object Object]
In order to affect two Objects at the same time you would need to create a function or use an existing method.

I was busy on some code with variables that look like this:
blocktype1;
blocktype2;
blocktype3;
blocktype4;
... //everything between blocktype4 and blocktype70, the three dots are not actual code!

Now I was using eval() in a function where a value was given to one of the blocktype variables. The blocktype depended on the variable "number".
This is what I had for that part:
eval("blocktype" + number) = 3
What I want is, say "number" is 27, then I want the variable blocktype27 to get a value of 3.
When I check the console it says:
ReferenceError: Invalid left-hand side in assignment
Could anyone possibly help me?
I would prefer just vanilla JavaScript and still the use of eval.

The 'correct' solution would probably be to use an Array which is ideal for sequences and are accessible by index.
var number = 1;
var val = 3;
var blocktype = []; // so clean
blocktype[number] = val;
However, properties can be accessed as with the bracket notation as well. This assumes the variables are in global scope and are thus properties of the global (window) object.
var blocktype1; // .. etc
window["blocktype" + number] = val;
The problem with the eval is that is effectively the same as doing f() = 3 which does not make sense: only variables/properties can be assigned to1.
However eval is a built-in function and the results of a function cannot be assigned to, per the error message. It could be written as
var blocktype1; // .. etc (see dandavis' comment)
eval("blocktype" + number + " = " + val);
// What is actually eval'd is:
// eval("blocktype1 = 3")
which quickly exposes a flaw with eval. If val was the string "Hello world!" with would result in eval("blocktype1 = Hello world!") which is clearly invalid.
1 For the gritty: the left-hand side of an assignment has to be a Reference Specification Type, which is a more wordy way of describining the above behavior. (It is not possible for a JavaScript function to return a RST, although it could technically be done for vendor host objects.)
Feel free not to accept this, since it's specifically not using eval(), but:
You can allocate an array of size 71 like so:

(your number values apparently start at 1, so we'll have to ignore the first element, blocktype[0], and leave room for blocktype[70], the 71st)

I have made an interesting observation. When trying to update an array that is stored in the Meteor session storage, the following code will not propagate the changes:
var tags = Session.get("Tags");
tags.push("a");
Session.set("Tags", tags);
But if I change the first line to use Session.get("Tags").slice(), everything depending on the session will update accordingly. I guess this is due to the fact that Meteor tests some references for equality and therefore does not update anything.
Is there a better way to manage lists stored in the meteor session store?
If I now try to remove an element from the collection (using array.remove() from here), the behavior turns out to be a bit ... of ... I am doing this inside a Meteor template event, the code looks like this:

I believe this is the same as this situation in Backbone.js. In order for the change event to be triggered, Meteor needs to have a new reference for the array, not just an updated copy of the old one.
In brief, in order to have the 'correct' behaviour, you'll need to clone the array, make the changes you want, and then do Session.set('foo', myCopiedArray).
In short: Use var index = cardTags.indexOf(this.toString()); instead.
Long version:
When using strings in JavaScript, those are strings, whereas typeof 'test' returns string.
Let's take a look at the following code in order to get find out another way to represent strings in JavaScript:

The console (at least FireBug) won't show us "test", but instead it shows String {0="t", 1="e", 2="s", 3="t" }. typeof would return "object".
The content of the this statement seems to need to be an object. In order to convert a string into a "String" object we can do console.log(new String('test'));, which is the same as the previously logged value.
To convert a string object into a string (data type), just use its prototype toString.

In JavaScript, objects are more-or-less just a list of names pointing to values. Each name-value pair is called a "property".
These values themselves can be any type of value, including a function. If the value of a property is a function, we call that a "method".
Say you want an object to track the x and y coordinates of a point.

In this case we can just use simple values, because we don't need any behaviour more advanced than getting a value (alert(point.x)) or setting one (point.x = 10).
jQuery is designed to let your code work on different browsers; different browsers behave differently in lots of situations, so jQuery can't just let you set

because depending on the type of object element is, it will need to modify different properties on different browsers. For this reason, jQuery makes you use methods for things like this:
