I can't seem to figure out how to position jPlayer.
I looked at jPlayer's documentation which says that jPlayer is set to be absolute positioned by default, but it doesn't appear to be because it seems to be part of the flow of the page, not out of the flow like an absolutely positioned element is.
Also, I tried applying the left, top, bottom, and right CSS properties to a bunch of elements that the jPlayer is made of and not a single attempt made any change.
Also, adding options into the javascript section on jPlayer don't seem to do anything either. I'm talking about the options listed here: http://www.jplayer.org/0.2.2/developer-guide/. I tried top and left and they did nothing.
Put this in the main div or first div tag. Then, once you are done with it, you can edit the position as you wish:
style="position: absolute;left: 100px;top: 40px;"
You have full control of the HTML Markup and CSS look/feel of your jPlayer instance. Example below (see Fiddle here)
With this standard GUI markup (taken from the jPlayer demos)
<div id="player"></div>
<div id="jp_container_1" class="jp-audio">
<div class="jp-type-single">
<div class="jp-gui jp-interface">
<ul class="jp-controls">
<li>play</li>
<li>pause</li>
<li>stop</li>
<li>mute</li>
<li>unmute</li>
<li>max volume</li>
</ul>
<div class="jp-progress">
<div class="jp-seek-bar">
<div class="jp-play-bar"></div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="jp-volume-bar">
<div class="jp-volume-bar-value"></div>
</div>
<div class="jp-current-time"></div>
<div class="jp-duration"></div>
<ul class="jp-toggles">
<li>repeat</li>
<li>repeat off</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="jp-title">
<ul>
<li></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="jp-no-solution" style="display: none; ">
<span>Update Required</span>
To play the media you will need to either update your browser to a recent version or update your Flash plugin.
</div>
</div>
</div>
you can instantiate a player with this javascript
$(function() {
$("#player").jPlayer({
swfPath: "http://www.jplayer.org/latest/js/Jplayer.swf",
supplied: "mp3",
ready: function() {
$(this).jPlayer("setMedia", {
mp3:"http://static1.grsites.com/archive/sounds/animals/animals001.mp3"
});
}
});
});
this renders plain, unstyled HTML in your browser. You can style your jPlayer GUI as you please. For example, by adding some positioning rules
.jp-play, .jp-pause {
position:absolute;
left: 7em;
top: 3em
}

I'm attempting to create a slick carousel using the slick library http://kenwheeler.github.io/slick/
Slick is loading and it's applying classes, containers, buttons etc. properly but the slides are permanently off screen. The translate3d x value on the active slide is always set to be outside the window. When clicking the 'previous' button or dragging the slide I'm able to pull it into the screen but as soon as it reaches the 0,0,0 position it returns to being outside the screen immediately. Here is my attempt to get it to work
<div class="slick-slider homepage-slider">
<div>
<a href="#">
<div class="slide-content"><img src="http://placehold.it/350x150">
<div class="slide-text">
<h2 class="slide-title">Slide Title</h2>
<div class="slide-caption">
<p>Slide Summary</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</a>
</div>
<div>
<a href="#">
<div class="slide-content"><img src="http://placehold.it/350x150">
<div class="slide-text">
<h2 class="slide-title">Slide Title</h2>
<div class="slide-caption">Slide summary</div>
</div>
</div>
</a>
</div>
<div>
<a href="#">
<div class="slide-content"><img src="http://placehold.it/350x150">
<div class="slide-text">
<h2 class="slide-title">Slide title</h2>
<div class="slide-caption">
<p>Slide summary</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</a>
</div>
</div>
In my js file I'm using
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery('.homepage-slider').slick({
rtl: true
});
});
http://jsfiddle.net/q1qznouw/549/
note: dragging works on my webpage but not within the jsfiddle sandbox
I receive no javascript errors. Is there a reason why the slides are permanently at a translate3d position outside the browser window, and when dragging onto the screen returns outside the browser window when letting go?
The issue is with your rtl setting. This requires a bit of extra markup to work (from Slick docs):
Note: the HTML tag or the parent of the slider must have the attribute
"dir" set to "rtl".
If you change your slick parent div from this:
<div class="slick-slider homepage-slider">
To this:
<div class="slick-slider homepage-slider" dir="rtl">
That should sort it
I am trying to use scrollspy from Materialize (http://materializecss.com/scrollspy.html) to target each div that is created with ng-repeat.
However, it seems to me as if the scrollspy class is not doing anything. Instead of scrolling to that part of the page, the DOM just reloads and points to the portion of the page.
Another problem is that using href="/#community#sharingLove" is changing the website URL. Is there anyway for the scrollspy to work without adding to the URL?
<div class="full-height row" ng-controller="CommunityController">
<div class="col l10 main-content">
<div ng-repeat="principle in acmPrinciples" id ="{{principle.id}}" class="row full-width centering-text section scrollspy">
<div class ="col-md-12">
<h4>{{principle.title}}<h4>
</div>
<div class ="col-md-12 comm-description-container">
<p class="paragraph-style larger-font-size">
{{principle.description}}
</p>
</div>
<div class ="col-md-12">
<video class="responsive-video comm-video-height" controls>
<source ng-src="{{principle.videoURL}}" type="video/mp4">
</video>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col l2 scroll-content">
<div class="row">
<div class="col hide-on-small-only m3 l2 scroll-items">
<ul class="section table-of-contents">
<li>Experiencing God</li>
<li>Sharing Love</li>
<li>Connecting Lives</li>
<li>Declaring Truth</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
I have linked included jQuery, bootstrap, and materialize. Last thing: other features of materialize work for me, just not the scrollspy. I also do
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.scrollspy').scrollSpy();
});
I think if you remove #/community from the hrefs it should work. The href should contain the id of the block, not extra url info. Eg try using
Experiencing God
I have looked around for hours trying to figure this out. I have a site built up like this jsfiddle.
<div id="window">
<div id="section-wrapper">
<div id="one" class="section"><p>One</p>
</div>
<div id="two" class="section"><p>Two</p>
</div>
<div id="three" class="section"><p>Three</p>
</div>
<div id="four" class="section"><p>Four</p>
</div>
<div id="five" class="section"><p>Five</p>
</div>
<div id="six" class="section"><p>Six</p>
</div>
<div id="seven" class="section"><p>Seven</p>
</div>
<div id="eight" class="section"><p>Eight</p>
</div>
<div id="nine" class="section"><p>Nine</p>
</div>
</div>
I use ScrollTo and localscroll to navigate the site and I wonder how I can implement a parallax effect to the section wrapper and make the background move slower. Everywhere I look the parallax plugins and scripts is based on a scroll function, but since I dont use scroll to navigate I have no idea how to add the effect.
Is there a way to only adress the actual background-image, i.e. use .animate and/or .css to background-position property or should I put an element behind the section-wrapper? Im fairly new to jquery and javascript but if anyone could point me in the right direction i think i could figure it out. I have just have no idea where to start..
Attach this file to header of your site
https://github.com/markdalgleish/stellar.js/tree/master/src
initiate the script
<script type='text/javascript'>
<!--
(function($) {
$(document).ready(function() {
$.stellar({
horizontalScrolling: false,
verticalOffset: 40
});
});
})(jQuery);
// -->
</script>
now you need to add the tag below to div that wraps the background
<div data-stellar-background-ratio="0.5">
You can update the value 0.5 - it defines the speed of background image.
I am stuck. Here is what I have going on, I have an AddThis sharing widget next to a main image on a webpage. The image changes sizes and I need the AddThis to change its placement with the image dynamically. I asked this in another question and through another forum I was able to get some help. Now AddThis and the image align properly and everything seems to be going in the right direction, however the image is no longer centered. I need this image to be centered on the page but I cannot figure out how to do this because I had to float the div containing the image and AddThis. Here is the HTML:
<div class="feature-container">
<div style="min-height:100px; min-width:100px; position:relative; float:left; ">
<div style="text-align:center;"><img class="feature-image"
src="/Images/test.jpg" width="300px;" alt="test" /></div>
<div style="position:absolute; bottom:0px; right:-40px;">
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_floating_style addthis_16x16_style">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_email"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/300
/addthis_widget.js"></script>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Any ideas how to center this? I can use a straight CSS solution or a solution using jQuery and CSS. Please provide examples.
Here is a JSFIDDLE of the page.
Here is a page that has the most up to date code I am attempting.
try this:
var pos = $('.center').width() - $('img').width();
$('.center').css('margin-left', pos);
http://jsfiddle.net/WY9YX/4/
I am not sure the content of your 'im-center', since I add an inline style(text-align:center;) as below, tested it and works fine on ie 8.
<div class="img-center" style="text-align:center;">
<img src="test.jpg" alt="test" />
</div>
Define a fixed width for center div would be OK, if this not requries a fixed width, #Raminson's jquery solution is better. I really want to know if we can implement this with pure css
<div id="top" class="wrap_fullwidth">
<div class="center" style="width:400px;">
<div style="min-height:100px; min-width:100px; position:relative; float:left; ">
<div style="text-align:center;"><img src="http://www.ubhape2.com/Images/test.jpg" alt="test" /></div>
<div style="position:absolute; bottom:0px; right:-40px;">
<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_floating_style addthis_16x16_style">
<a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_email"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js"></script>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Try to apply margin: 0 auto; CSS rule to the div.
I have a web application that performs certain task, and have created a tabbed box in the web app that will print any log information to the designated area.
As you can see from the code below I have three tabs, and when one is clicked I have javascript and jQuery display the div area associated with that tab. Under each div area there is a nested div that will be used for the log to print to.
All is working great other than the scroll bar not staying at the bottom.
I have tried:
HTML:
<div id="main" class="main">
<div id="tabbed-box"class="tabbed-box">
<ul id="tabs" class="tabs">
<li>Tail</li>
<li>Access Log</li>
<li>Conduit Log</li>
</ul>
<div id="tail_box" class="tabbed-content">
<div id="tail_print" class="print-area"></div>
</div>
<div id="access_content" class="tabbed-content">
<div id="access_log_print" class="print-area"></div>
</div>
<div id="log_content" class="tabbed-content">
<div id="log_keywords" class="keywords"></div>
<div id="log_print" class="print-area"></div>
</div>
</div>
jQuery:
document.getElementById("access_log_print").scrollTop = document.getElementById("access_log_print").scrollHeight;
But with no luck. All of the div's with class="print-area" I need the scroll bar to be at the bottom.
If you are using jQuery then you can try this.
$('.print-area').each(function(){
$(this).scrollTop($(this).prop('scrollHeight'));
});
