This my HTML code but if the browser does not support Flash then I want to replace the image in the Flash part
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
if (typeof navigator.plugins['Shockwave Flash'] !== 'undefined') {
alert('support');
} else {
alert('not support');
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

I would use one of the Flash Detection JavaScript libraries out there. This one works well.

i am not getting the alert blackberry or other

<%# page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"
pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function getcss(cssfile)
{
alert("hi");
alert(navigator.appName);
}
if(navigator.appName("Blackberry"))
{
alert("blackberry");
}
else
{
alert("other");
}
</script>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<title>Insert title here</title>
</head>
<body onload="getcss()">
<div id="demo">
Hai Css
</div>
</body>
</html>
Why I am not getting the alert blackberry or other? I have more doubt in that code so I want that clarification for this.
This part is wrong:
if(navigator.appName("Blackberry"))
appName is a string not a function, and that will probably cause your script to stop executing with an exception. Try
if (navigator.appName == "BlackBerry")
Note the second capital 'B'; from the docs
navigator.appName is set to the browser name, "BlackBerry".
You might want to make the comparison more lenient, e.g.
if (navigator.appName.toLowerCase().indexOf("blackberry") >= 0)
to look for 'BlackBerry' anywhere in the string, case insensitively. (For extra safety you could check navigator.appName is not null and is actually a string first, but that's probably not necessary.)

Have you tried adding the JavaScript under the anchor tag.
<script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id))
{js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}
(document,"script","twitter-wjs");</script>
as described at https://dev.twitter.com/docs/tweet-button

jquery .load() doesn't work

i can't seem to get jquery's .load() function to work. must be something simple i'm missing...basically just trying to load a fragment of more.html into index.html.
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.5.js" />
<title>Test</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
alert("jquery script executing...");
$('#foo').load('more.html #bar', loadComplete);
});
function loadComplete (response, status, xhr) {
alert("load complete.");
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="foo">
foo foo foo
</div>
</body>
</html>
more.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>More</title>
</head>
<body>
<div id="bar">
bar bar bar
</div>
</body>
i see both the alerts -- the script is being executed, and the callback is being called (i.e. the load is completing). however, the contents of do not change. i've tried on safari, chrome, and firefox (all on OSX). there must be something obvious i'm missing...?
The load function is broken in jquery 1.5 release. You can find the bug ticket at http://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/8125. This is fixed in version 1.5.1. You can find the very latest jquery release with all the latest fixes including load() at http://code.jquery.com/jquery-git.js
