For a long and convoluted reason I need to include a html code spaces in a class name - there is no other option.
This class links to some javascript to open and close a div. In Chrome, Safari, IE 8, Firefox 5,6. However it doesn't work in Firefox 3. Why would this be, I don't understand! Anyone have an idea - does firefox handle this character weirdly?
In any case, I don't think firefox is going to update its browser to help you.
It sounds like your problem is an unstoppable force against an immovable stone.
But I think with extra work there should be 'an extra option'.
Saying there's 'no other option' is usually, even if justifiably, avoiding another problem and/or being lazy.
As suggested, code would also help us know exactly what you're talking about.

I have now successfully installed jQuery zoom. But for no reason sometimes it works and sometimes not...
Take a look here
Working
Not Working
I also don't get a error in the console... What can be the reason for it and how can I fix that?
Kind regards
It really works. The one that doesn't work is because you have a transparent background on the image while the one what works have a white background.

My picture
About my issue. Please help me! Thank you very must.
I doubt you're going to get a good answer give the vagueness of your question, but I'll give you a start. For one, you could use one of several good sliders that exist. For a start, I'll recommend three that I really like: Slidr, Slick, and Flickity.
The second option is that you could build a custom slider of sorts. Now, given the way you've asked the question, I am going to assume you don't want to do this. Nonetheless, you could stack all of the slides on top of each other and use CSS transforms to slide them in from different directions simply using translateX(), and triggering these animations using event listeners on click. This is obviously a very stripped down explanation, but is essentially what a very simple slider like Slidr does.

I want to make a popup with any coding language, I don't mean an error popup with JavaScript but just a div that comes in front and makes the other things grayer.
I hope you understand what I mean, who can help me?
EDIT: I mean something like http://habnote.nl/?utm_source=loggedout (don't matter the website)
Unfortenetly it is possible only on Javascript.
You can either use the simple command alert(Hello world!). Or get it a bit nicer with alert jQuery plugins.
Good luck.

In this some what outdated article by quirksmode it does not use the click through method because it was not supported by FireFox.
http://www.quirksmode.org/dom/inputfile.html
However, I tested it and it works fine. I can produce a click event on a file input.
Are there any other limitations I might not be aware of. I basically want to use the method in the article, but use the more simple method of passing the click event from the fake input directly to the real input.
I've emailed the author and asked if he has any additional thoughts since Firefox now supports it.
I plan to implement it and will provide and info I find out.

Is there something special about Safari for Windows and AJAX?
In other words: Are there some common pitfalls I should keep in mind?
Safari is really standards compliant. Unless you're using some really esoteric browser features, in general if something works in Firefox, I've found it works without modification in Windows Safari.
Apple has a developer center for web developers, but I didn't find anything too useful there.
In your event handlers, instead of return false, use event.preventDefault() or event.stopPropagation(). The event methods are the standard/compatible way, but lots of old tutorials still recommend return.
One word of warning: Safari on Windows does not support XSLT.
