i couldn't find a better title,
but i would like to build a tab panel with two tabs that are always present
and a undefined number of other tabs that are generated dynamically by the user.
I would like to implement something similar to the app-Tabs in Firefox:
The tabs added by the user should be scrollable, while the other 2 tabs should be pinned and always displayed.
Here's an image:
Is this possible via ext or do I have to do it via css?
Thanks for any ideas!
Ok for those who are interested, here is how i did it now.
I shift my tab bar to the right by applying a padding-left.
The two tabs that i want to pin are hidden
and in the free space that results from the padding i put two buttons and make them look like tabs.
If they are clicked, the hidden buttons are activated.
It's not completely finished, but i think it will act as desired.

I am create a simple navigation bar that runs along the top of the screen but when the display is under 768px it displays as a menu that can be closed with a click of a X or opened by click the Hamburger button.
I also have the site hosted on GitHub and the page can be loaded via here
First of all you should provide snippet code when answer. If you don't share its hard to identify the problem.
Secondly problem with your code is a spalling mistake. instead of menu.addEventListner use menu.addEventListener. You can find these Errors easily if see the console in your browser.
Sorry if something like this has been asked, but I've spent a long time Googling it and searching it here.
I'm trying to build a homepage for a website where the menu is along the top, rolling over the menu items should show a description of the page in the middle of the screen, which they do, and this is working.
The problem is that because jQuery/JS is using the href tag to find the page the description is on, clicking on the menu item takes the user to a description page and not the actual page.
I've put the description paragraphs on separate pages from those they're describing since it'd be redundant if the description showed up on both home and the page the user wants to navigate to. I've also tried display=none in the CSS to get the description to be hidden in the main page and show on the homepage, but as the description carries the CSS from the main page, it's also being hidden on the homepage.
I'll post any code if asked, I wasn't sure whether to dump it all here or just certain parts.
Thanks
I have a link in my menu that opens up a fancybox with some ajax contents. This box contains links, like a menu for the data shown in the fancybox. I would like to be able to click these links and change the content of the fancybox but all I manage is to open a new box instead, which makes the screen fade to white and back which makes it look like it's flickering.
I tried using an array of content dictionaries to just change the but couldn't get it to load any of them. I've also added a rel to the links making it a album with arrows on the side so I can go to the next/previous and that works fine except that's not the type of navigation I want. It must be possible to do the same through links instead, but I can't figure out how. Can anyone help me with this?
Edit: a small jsfiddle of some things that I tried.
Fancybox supports iframes. You could make an iframe instead. And put in another html-page there.
You can try on each link
The links located on the same server or different domains?
Have you tried with onclick="window.location.replace(url)"
I use fancybox on our web system and that helped me with fancybox
I need 3 level menu bar like this:
User will select 3 different options from the menu.
in this example the target url will be like this:
www.mysite.com/show.php?type=cat&size=middle&color=yellow
The url will be opened as soon as user changes one option in the menubar.
I don't have experience to make this menu from scratch,
is there any ready scripts making similar behaviour,
or which terms do you recommend me search for in javascrpt forums?
Thank you
I'm developing a page that will present the user with a content slider, so that the user can click 'next' to browse through the slides.
However, I also want to hide any 'previous' buttons/links and additionally, when the user reaches the last slide in the list the 'next' button needs to be replaced with a different button and take the user to another page on the site instead of going back to the beginning of the slides.
I wondered if anyone had any advice on how to code this?
Thank you.
If your slides are images, you have this done in Lightbox (at least for the first part of your need):
