I am running Asp.Net MVC 2.0, and I am running into a problem with my JS calls.
this is what I have in my :
<link href="../../Content/Site.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/jquery.js"></script>
Which all works fine if I am on the root level. But if I jump up to something like:
Root/Items/Search/term/Page3
the JS doesn't run load - if I look at the source, the MVC is 'smart enough' to re-route the css, but not the Javascript:
<link href="../../../Content/Site.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/jquery.js"></script>
I must be missing something, there has to be an easy way to do this correctly, any ideas?
To avoid this sort of problems never hardcode links like this. Use helper methods instead:
<link href="<%= Url.Content("~/Content/Site.css") %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="<%= Url.Content("~/Scripts/jquery.js") %>"></script>

I have a jsp and when it loads it's throwing $(...).idleTimeout is not a function in the console and for this rest of the scripts are not working in that jsp. I have included the jquery and scripts in my jsp as below :
I have tried to include different versions of jquery , but that didn't work either.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://code.jquery.com/ui/1.12.0/themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.css" />
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.2.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/ui/1.12.0/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/NBO/assets/js/manageRoles.js${asset_id}"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/NBO/assets/js/manageGuestUserMain.js${asset_id}"></script>
<link href="/NBO/assets/css/updateCredentials.css${asset_id}" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="/NBO/assets/css/manageRoles.css${asset_id}" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
I have found the reason for the error. It's because the JSP was importing the jquery through , and the JSP was defined the in spring tiles view name and the tiles was extending a default definition which had some jquery already. Since there were multiple jquery import , it was failing. I simply commented the jquery import in my JSP i.e. and it worked smooth.
I have a question to You.
On my local server my circle charts in JS working normally but when i want to see them through www protocol i don't see them :/. I copied my files many times to server - I don't see charts.
Here is code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.11.1.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.e-plus.com.pl/mateusz/THEMEFOREST/js/jquery.circliful.min.js"></script>
I tried to do this with my domain adress but result is the same... Webbrowser don't see my charts :(
Did you use any
<base href="http://...">?
Try using:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="./css/jquery.circliful.css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="./js/jquery-1.11.1.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.e-plus.com.pl/mateusz/THEMEFOREST/js/jquery.circliful.min.js"></script>
As the title of this post says, since I added the fancybox's sources to my file, other js functions doesn't work anymore. If i switch the position of js source files and put mine after fancybox's js source files, my js functions work but the fancybox no, in the other hand, the fancybox work but my js functions don't.
Here is the header of my file:
<head>

I think that src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js" is what's doing some conflict..
What can I do ?
You're importing a very old version of jQuery for your own code http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js, but then importing the latest version for Fancybox http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js
Many things in the jQuery library have evolved since 1.3 was released almost 5 years ago, and several old APIs no longer work. The ideal thing to do would be to modernize your own code, and then just import jQuery once (a new or new-ish version).
Start by checking the error console to find out what's breaking.
I'm going to use bootstrap to build up my front end. Also I'm using JSP and JSTL
What I've read in some articles over the internet is the proper approach of adding an external javascript file should be written before the body closing tag for more optimization of the page. Now I'm trying to apply this with the bootstrap, what i did is put the css of the bootstrap to an external html file:
import_header.html:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap-css/bootstrap.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap-css/bootstrap.min.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap-css/bootstrap-responsive.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap-css/bootstrap-responsive.min.css">
which I imported to the head of the html like this:
<jsp:include page="import_header.html" flush="true" />
Now I want to do the same thing with the js file of the of the bootstrap and the jQuery lib but I don't know what is the proper way of doing this.
that's the recommended way, how to place them:
e.g. footer.html
<!-- Placed at the end of the document so the pages load faster -->
<script src="jquery/jquery-2.0.3.min.js"></script>
<script src="bootstrap/bootstrap-2.3.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="myOwn.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
I have a code like this: http://codepad.org/0j9m2Xdw
These files:
<link href="js/jtable/themes/metro/blue/jtable.min.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script src="js/jtable/jquery.jtable.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
are in 100% in correct location. I run google-chrome with --allow-file-access and --allow-file-access-from-files parameters. Even that I still get a blank page when I try to access my index.html location, which is: file:///home/myusername/code/web/index.html
What's wrong?
JTable needs also jQueryUI, try this :
<script src="js/jquery/jquery-2.0.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<!-- JqueryUI -->
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.10.3/jquery-ui.js " type="text/javascript"></script>
<!-- Include one of jTable styles. -->
<link href="js/jtable/themes/metro/blue/jtable.min.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
